Set SVG Props in Illustrator

Hello together,
We are evaluating the Adobe Illustrator in our company to create some svg drawings.
Now we need to set some svg properties.
I have allready found out that there is a possibility to set the svg events (svg interaction) like "on_click".
I also found out that the name of the objekt will be used as the id in the svg drawing.
But i am missing the additional properties like "title".
Is there any way to set these props?
Or do I have the possibility to acces these props with an extension?

Thank you, but i am not really happy hear about this.
Actually i am trying to create a plug in, wich will allow me to save some properties in the "on load" event.
somthing like: OnLoad="registerProps(prop1,prop2,prop3,prop4,prop5)"
But i hope that its lack of dealing with transforms correctly will not make me unable to use Adobe Illustrator.
Since i think its a greate and user friendly tool.
Do you prefere an other tool to create svg drawings?

Setting the proper timezone.

Hi,
I have a 5th generation Video iPod, and am having problems setting the proper timezone.
If I open the world clock, and pick Halifax, it does not show an accurate time.
My timezone is Atlantic Standard Time (AST), which is the timezone for Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick Canada. I cannot find AST in the timezone settings choices however.
AST is 1 hour ahead of the EST timezone.
Does anyone know how I can set my iPod to be in the correct timezone?

Pick the clock for the city you want. Make sure that is the only clock.
Now go to Settings-->Date and Time-->Set Time Zone. Pick your Time Zone. Now go to Set Clock and set your clock to the correct time. See if it works properly.

SVG format in Illustrator

So I was told to create a story book illustration (as seen on my first post) and convert it to an svg format. My boss, upon checking the file told me that the svg file I made was just an embedded picture and that's not what he wants. I don't really get the svg format so can someone help me? My boss goes to the files codes and says that it's just an embedded png pic or something. I find it weird because I "save as" the work on the Illustrator itself and is not embedding anything else. Can anyone please explain to me how this whole svg file works? How will I know if it's not an embedded pic like what my boss says?

You can redraw the entire scene and use flat shapes where your fuzzy edges are small and "stroke-like" (like in her hair, dress, and boots, the house roof and fence- anything highly-detailed), you can also use several shapes to get the non-round rocks in a purposefully-banded type of posterized effect, so they won't be smooth but with consistency they can give the eye a good illusion. And for items which are needing to be fuzzy and round, you may be able to use shapes with gradients inside them. For the trees, you may want to change them to have a radial gradient with dark-green outside and shift it so they look more lit from one side, and add some leave shapes for symbolic texture. This may be a complicated process of setting up the gradients just right, but it's going to let you scale the image. When you're done and save as SVG, open that Svg in a browser and zoom in to see what items got added well. If you open up one of your svgs which use a mesh, you will most likely see pixels when zooming in, that's because browsers don't read AI's gradient meshes and can't display them as such, so AI converts the meshes to images and the svg has a bunch of embedded pictures which do not scale like vectors. Even though you may be able to zoom in quite far and not see a big quality difference in your meshes which have very smooth gradation, each embedded image takes up a lot of space within the file as base64 encoded image date (if you saved with images embedded). Otherwise, if you saved with images linked, those created images will be put into a parent folder of your svg file, and the shapes inside the svg will link to those images. If you save your red riding hood in this manner, you may see a whole lot of those, and take note of the file size of each.

SVG saved in Illustrator won't show up on Chrome and is blowing up on Safari

Hello. First time here, so bear with me in case I'm doing something wrong.
So, I have to create almost 500 maps for this wine store website. They want the maps to be SVG files, because their website is responsive, so SVG would be the format that goes along with every platform without losing quality.
I was saving all the directly from Illustrator, but when I opened up those SVGs, the objects were completely out of the artboard. So I exported all the artboards in EPS format and used a batch action script to open each one and save as SVG.
That seemed to work. But when I took the files for them to upload in their website using Magento, the images weren't showing in Chrome and were blown up in Safari, completely oversized in relation to the original artboard size. This all happened in iOS, if it's of any importance.
Now, I don't understand nothing about coding or anything, so I was wondering if there's something I could do in Illustrator to prevent this from happening.

Edge Animate CC 2014 pasting SVG's from Illustrator CC 2014 issues

I am working on an html5 interactive map in which only certain US States which have an active service area for this particular product will be a different color, with an interactive text box that will pop up on hover.
My background is a plain, gray, US map with all the state borders outlined in white copied from my Illustrator file. My plan was to add just the states with an active service area as a new layer on the Stage, after I make it red and copy it from Illustrator separately. However, after I do this successfully for the first 2 or 3 states, the next state I try to add, regardless of the actual state I choose next, or the name I give the incoming .svg image, fails to display within my .an file.
Please fix or help! This project should have already been completed, but I have wasted 3 or 4 versions in attempt to get these svg's to display as they should. If I have to go the route of saving each layer as a .png first, the project is going to take me 10 times longer than it should if this feature was working properly.

Hey Troy, apologies for the delay.
I just tried this and did not experience the issue you describe. I went through nine copy (Illustrator) and paste (Edge) process. Each came through successfully.
I don't suppose you are hitting a memory issue! I have 16gigs of Ram so I may be getting more use out of my upper memory allocation. I am also using the latest versions of both - is this your case as well.

Loading EMF and Conversion Problem from EMF to SVG in Adobe illustrator CC

I have downloaded trial version of adobe illustrator CC.
I am importing .emf file into adobe illustrator CC. it loads an emf file properly with its content but my emf file contains some lines(--------) also..imported emf file doesn't show any line.
My main motive is convert this emf file into svg file. but as because my emf file is not imported properly, so as with SVG.
Ask one more important thing, why converted svg file from emf appears to be having different fonts and margins.

The problem is once I finished with the art, I deleted the template, and there's a big art board there and it's in the way, I don't want it to affect the size and dimensions of the channel art. I just need it to be 2560px by 1440px wide, is there any way I can save it exactly like that?
Not sure what you mean by "it's in the way."
The size of the artboard doesn't necessarily affect the "size of the art." (There are some workflow scenarios where the artboard size is recognized and utilized, but for the most part it is simply a 'passive' boundary.)
If your art is 2560px X 1440px, and you want the artboard to match, double-click the artboard tool and choose "Fit to Artwork Bounds" at the top of the preset menu.

Setting the Proper security on my adobe documents

I am trying to set up the proper security on all my documents but it has been a hassle with sending, having them signed and returned properly.
The only thing I want to restrict is someone changing out our logo or wording and replacing it with theirs.
The rest as far as filling in proper fields, signing documents, saving a file to their desktop, sending them to clients to sign and having them sent back I want to be able to do. One of our employees sent it off to to be filled out and signed but when it was sent back, we could only see their signatures but when I clicked on the boxes they filled in, you could see the information in the box that i clicked. Once i clicked out of that box into another one, it would disapear and the other would be visible. When we printed it, it would only show the signatures on the bottom. I need a solution asap!
it is also not allowing me to now release all the restrictions I have put on the documents, when i click remove security, a box pops up that says "you cannot change security on this document because it is signed or certified." So now I cant even remove security on my document to edit it when I have the password.

One way to prevent tampering with your logo is instead of writing it use a Graphics Program to design it Insert into Original Document. Make a PDF then use Replace in the original PDF and choose this new PDF as the replacement. Then Flatten The PDF before inserting the Form Fields. That way the only thing they can work with is the the information in the Fields and nothing else.

Howto set up proper utf-8 locales and german umlaute?

have some issues here and i think it has something to do with my locales... I have them since one of the last updates i think...
First problem:
In Kopete, i can send the german "umlaute" (ä, ö, ü) to others and they are sent and displayed correctly at their side... But when they send me these characters, i get only a square and a deleted next-letter-in-the-word by them. This happens with every theme and font combination in kopete. Here is an example:
Second problem:
In Konsole, the "umlaute" are correctly displayed on my folders, but in the messages i get the chars are simply deleted and not visible. This happens in the VC and in Xorg too. Here is another example:
(It should mean "Keine Handbuch Seite für pacman.conf")

I mean, when i define LANG="de_DE.utf8" in /etc/profile and it is then overwritten by /etc/profile.d/lang.sh with LANG="de_DE.utf8", then this is simply the same variable defined twice with the same content... I have tried to unset the one in /etc/profile, but it did not solve it...
As for CONSOLEFONT, i had never one defined, can anyone suggest me a proper one? And the other question is: Its not working on the terminals, but it is also not working in Xorg, so is this really a CONSOLEFONT issue?
I have tried another thing and switched my locales to de_DE@euro ISO-8859-15, and with this setting the chars appear correctly... But i cannot be the only one where it does not work, i feel so excluded without UTF-8
Have also tried another terminal in Xorg... In XTerm the chars are not deleted like in Kopete or on the VC, but i see an inverted question mark instead of them...

Integrated Iviews in portal to set in proper way.

I integrated URL,webdynpro,Transactional,Bw&BSP iviews into the portal.
Here my question is how to set these iviews in a proper way. i mean i need to give first priority to Transactional iview.then webdynpro,BSP,BW and Url iview.
I heard that there is a sorting option to get this but i didnt get that address.
can anyone suggest me to solve this.

You can use sort priority property to arrange the objects. The sort priority is by default numbers between 0 and 100.
Set the least number to the iview/Workset/Role if you want display them first.
Make sure that you are setting sort priority to the corresponding level to arrange them example:
For example, if you have two roles Role1 and Role2 and each of them havingTwo worksets WS1 and WS2 then, Least sort priority should set to Role2 if you want to display Role2 first over Role1.
If you want to display WS2 first over WS1 then the least sory priority should set to WS2 .

How can I rectify horrible thick lines after SVG import into Illustrator

I have an SVG file that displays fine in InkScape but erroneously displays lines as huge thick blocks in Illustrator. The SVG file was created originally by Sibelius 7 music notation app. The only reason I would consider buying Illustrator would be to import Sibelius generated SVG files for graphic manipulation. So I would dearly love to sort this out, or it's a big no-no to Illustrator. Any help really welcome! Thanks in advance!

I have no clue where to even start - how to even open AI.

Hello Kurt - I am using Windows 7 - Obviously I know hwo to open the programme itself, but once in - I am unsure if I should be opening a print document, web document etc.....
I am new to all this techie stuff - way behind everybody else - so I need a step by step plan to get me going.
Am I biting off more than I can chew? Is this tracing process relatively easy - or should I pay somebody to do it each time?

Opening svg files in Illustrator cs3

hi,
svg files which I open in Illustrator have all lines very thick (about 20times thicker they should be). All the files look good in svg adobe viewer.They come from a "closed" system so I do not know how were they saved.

They are Artios Cad files. Artio Cad is a 3D program from Esko Graphics used for packaging work. Lets you fold your box in 3D etc.
You will need the Esko Pluggins in order to open your ard files in Illustrator. Not sure if they have them for CS3 yet but they do for CS2 and below and are free I believe from Esko's web site.

SVG export to Illustrator?!?!

Okay okay... is it just me or is it stupid not to have SVG export to open into Illustrator but not KEEP the new Weight tool's weights when exporting to Illustrator which by Adobe's OWN admission is the same EAXACT tool!?!?! Is it just me? REALLY!?!?!
Am I just doing it wrong? Is this possible or not? So much for a 'suite'.

Semi-ignore my previous answer - figured out another work around that involves converting your slices to artboards.
After you have made all of your slices, use the Slice Selection Tool to select your first slice. Go to Object > Artboards > Convert to Artboards. This should create a new artboard out of that slice. Do this for all of your slices.
After creating new artboards from your slices, go to File > Export... and select Flash (swf) from the dropdown menu. Make sure you check the "Use Artboards" option underneath the format menu.
This process should result in individual swf files of each of your slices, along with your original image. Hope this helps!

Interpret an svg file from illustrator

Anyone know of any guides which explain this. i have drew a circle in ms paint and saved it as bitmap, loaded it into illustrator and used live trace and saved it out as an svg. Looks like this <br /><br />i can follow it down to the point until after d=" which i assume is the most important bit. Anyone knows how this is understood by the program. You can't. PS doesn't do SVG and even if it did, it wouldn't retain SO vectors in teh way you probably expect it to. That's simply not how SVGs work. You will have to use Inkscape, Illustrator or otehr tools, if you realyl need vector SVGs.
