Hi,
I have a requirement where i want to set and get the user parameter.
I am using set/Get parameter for that, but once i logoff from system amd login again it does not get that value.
Also do you know some functional module where we can set the value su01.

Write code SET PARAMETER-ID <PID NAME>.
Then doble click on PID NAME to create your own PID.
SM32 transaction to create/maintain parameter ids.
Simply go to the table where your field is and double click on the data element. You will then see the definition for the data element. Choose tab Further Characteristics and on Parameter ID simply write down your desired parameter ID name. Double Click on the parameter ID name and describe the Parameter ID as desired and click Save.
Save and Activate the data element for the field and you are now good to go.
Using SM30 give the TPARA in the Table/view input and press Maintain, in the Next screen give the parameter id and press enter, in the pop give the text and press continue.

How to set the user's Default joboptions directory?

Hello Experts,
When we installed Acrobat Pro 8.x on our Win XP Pro systems our systems were NOT in a Windows Domain. At that time the default location for user-created/customized joboptions files was:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
where <Username> is the name of the LOCAL Windows user.
A few years ago we migrated to a Windows Domain and converted our LOCAL users to domain users and disabled, but did not delete, the LOCAL user's account. We did not remove the LOCAL user's Documents and Settings directory structure either.
Our users now log into a DOMAIN rather than the LOCAL account.
As a result of that process the user's Documents and Settings directory structure changed to;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username.DOMAINNAME>
where DOMAINNAME is, of course, our Windows Domain Name.
Now we are beginning to use Acrobat Distiller joboptions and I notice that when Acrobat/Distiller goes to save a user-created/customized joboptions file the default location has remained;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
which is NOT the user who is logged in
Acrobat/Distiller should use the Documents and Settings directory of the user who is actually logged in which is;
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username.DOMAINNAME>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
This anomaly has created some confusion and appears to have created a dependency of the old LOCAL user's Documents and Settings directory preventing us from deleting it.
Question:
How can we force Acrobat/Distiller to use the Documents and Settings directory of the logged in user (eg: the Domain user)?
In other words, how do we set the user's default joboptions directory?
Pointers/tips/and tricks are most welcome.

if the user is the one running the program, you can always get the home directory using System.getProperties ("user.home");
If you are trying to get the properties of another user, you could try using setProperties to change the user name first, before getiting the home directory, but it probably won't work because of the security manager. You could read the /etc/passwd file and parse the path out, but once again, the user of the code would have to have appropriate permission.

There is a dump encoutered in the form "PS_FLAG_GET_GLOBAL_FLAGS" for 'chk_precommit_ok' in the "BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT".
But it is showing SY-SUBRC = 0 when used along with BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
May i know what are input parameters we need to pass it to "BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT".
Do you have any idea.

How to set the User rights to use DAQ/IMAQ in WinXP as general(=limited) user

When I install Software, written in LabVIEW (build an executable/installer), as administrator it works fine. But when I switch over to a user account with limited rights (we are talking about WinXP) it will not run and gives error messages. It happend to me at two almost the same computers, one with a DAQ-board, and one with an IMAQ-board. (At the computer with IMAQ1411 -> I also checked MAX -> errors/no access.) What to do?

I investigated the issue further. To work around this problem you should add write permissions to the C:\Program Files\National Instruments folder. Be sure that all subfolders and files are awarded write permission. This should solve your problems. eventually you could break it up to one file which must be set to write permission but by setting the whole folder to write permission you solve this problem for many other drivers to so you would not run into this everytime you use different hardware.

How to set the user who can access to repository

Hi,
I know we can create user and group in the tools->security.And if this users is belong to Administrators Group, it can access to RPD and do some modify..
Can we create group or user who can access RPD in some situation(like mentioned in HELP, A can access to repository on Mondays and Wednesdays, B can access to repository on Saturdays and Sundays) and how to set the privilege..

The example specified in Help is about restricting query execution on weekdays/weekends for a particular webgroup. Inorder to configure such access ,
Double click on the web group name -> Query Limits tab ->Click on Restrict button provided against the physical connection pool ->Select Allow/Disallow by selecting a particular time period.

Set the user entered values to context node

Hi Experts,
I am using a context node for 'BuilHeaderSearch' BOL entity and have provided first name, lastname and email for the user to enter values to search the BP. My requirement here is to capture the values entered on the UI screen and set to context node which supposedly should be taken care by SET_* methods, which is not happening at the moment, consequently are not set to context node meaning that it doesn't go to SET_FIRSTNAME method.
I know i could access the values using formfields but i don't think that's recommended.
Please give me some clue.

I think i got the problem now..
Always create instance creates a entity if there is no entity exist in the collection of the context node, for eg lets say you are trying to create one model context node2 which is related to any existing parent context node1.. In this scenario if you check always create instance for the dependent context node2, it will create the blank entity and this you can varify in the on_new_focus of the dependent context node2.(Create related entity code will be there which will create a blank entity if you have check always create instance).
If you don't specify always create instance, framework will not create blank entity for your context node(Check the on_new_focus code no create_related_entity code will be there).
In your requirement if you don't select "always create instance", then as per my understanding you will not be getting blank entity and set_property call should result into exception, which will not be the case when you have entity thru always create instance.

Setting the User Code for RICOH Aficio MP C 4000

Hi guys, initially I had trouble setting my office network printer. But the thread at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2235451 helped a lot. Now I am still stuck as the office uses "user codes" for each of the staff but when I tried to set it up, i couldn't punch in any numbers as only 4 options were presented ie nos from 1001-1004.
I might be wrong but it seems to me that the user codes could be hardcoded in a text file somewhere. Question is how do I do that?

so ive read and done everything on this feed. i also noticed that this question was marked at answered but it doesnt seem like the answer should be to hook into another printer.
im trying to print to my office printer, Ricoh aficio mp c5000, and im so close i can taste it but i must be missing something.
ive called applecare, ricoh, downloaded wayyy too many drivers, done everything in this feed and still nothing... well not exactly.
when i hit print the printer wakes up and makes noise but it doesnt pickup any paper or actually print. i can hear things startup and start spinning but nothing prints.
i know that for all the pc's that work on this printer, have to print in black and white or otherwise enter a Valid Access for color. I dont even see the option of valid access in the print settings.
also
i saw an option of finisher, option tray, upper internal tray, and internal shift tray. would those settings play a part as to why im not printing (using the Ricoh Aficio MP C5000 PXL driver)

I have the user and password in a session variable but I can't put the value into the log.

Setting the user's default locale

Hello all,
I am working with an IRC applet client. This applet loads information based on the client's locale. I found that some machines load the wrong locale, and I guess it is a result of different settings in the OS. I need to make sure that all clients load the same locale. The machines which use this applet are all win32, and I have the benefit of being able to instruct them what to do in order to set their applet to the proper locale.
The way I see it there are two alternatives: either setting the applet or the OS. I tried adding parameters in the Advanced tab of the Plugin's control panel (-Duser.language=he), but it did not help.
Where should I look in the OS in order to set something which will change the applet's default locale?
Is there anything else I can do???

I assume you don't have access to the applet source code -- if so, you could easily change the code to use your own locale.
If it wouldn't be in violation to any license agreement, you could decompile the applet to retrieve the source. There are several open source decompilers, I would just do a search here to get some names.
Alternatively, you could write an applet loader which sets the JVM's default locale (using java.util.Locale.setDefault()) before passing control off to the applet. See http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=4&thread=474305 (reply 5) for some hints on how this can be done.

Set a default LDAP domain if the user does not specify one during logon

We are using LDAP authentication. We have setup the repository to have 3 LDAP servers, with the following domain identifiers: PUBLIC, AGENT, CORPORATE. We would like to default the domain to PUBLIC for external users, so they do not need to provide a domain. AGENT and CORPORATE users would still specifiy the domain. Is there a way to do this? I've tried setting the USER variable in an init block using the following sql.
Init block 1 - populates the USER session variable to prepend with PUBLIC if not specified

Init block 2 - LDAP authentication - populates the EMAIL and UID session variables

Because I've defined the USER variable in the previous init block, I can't return the uid into the USER variable. This caused it to think that authentication was successful, and it allows you to login with valid LDAP users, but it will take any password you provide.

Yes, I have done that. I have removed all other init blocks, and now have just the two. Init block 1 - set the value of the USER_TEMP variable, and init block 2 - the authentication init block. The authentication init block is marked as required for authentication, and the other init block must precede it. It is still allowing a user to login successfully under PUBLIC, when they are not a public user. If I explicitly login as PUBLIC/<user> it fails, as I would expect. But when I login as <user> it is successful. Which is not correct. I've checked in Answers that the variable USER_TEMP is being set to PUBLIC/<user>. So, I'm still confused as to why the LDAP init block is allowing it to go through.

How to pass the User Group for a SQ00 Transaction iView

Hello,
To start off, I am relatively new to SAP technology in general. I may be missing something obvious.
I am trying to create an SAP Transaction iView in our EP Portal that will call the SQ00 transaction (start query) and run a particular query against our R/3 backend. I set the Transaction Code to: SQ00, the application parameters to: RS38R-QNUM=<my query> and the OK Code to: SHOW and the System to the System alias for our R/3 system.
My problem is that the query that I need to run is not in the default User Group that comes up by default. So I get a screen that has the query field (RS38R-QNUM) correctly populated but the error that the query has not been created. From that screen I can navigate to the correct User Group and then run query. There does not seem to be a User Group field on the screen, you change it by accessing a different menu, so I do not know how to call the screen for a particular User Group.
Is their an application parameter that I can initially pass to set the User Group?

Role in bpm when the role is dynamic (manager of the user)

Regarding the bpm I face a case as below:
I have a bpm which in one of its step a human task would be generated for the Manager of the user that initiate this process.
Assume that I kept the username of the initiator on one of my variable how can I set the user's manager role?
as in the bpm I just can set the role and in the mapping of bpm role to LDAP role I can not use the xpath or dynamic thin I can just can select the LDAP user or group.

Try this:
Go to the "XXX.task" file of your user screen, you can find it in the structure tree on the left panel inside the "SOA Content" directory of your main project.
You will see a serie of tabs in the left side of the new window. Go to "Assignment".
There you will see a default.DefaultPerformer inside a box. Click on it and the on the pencil icon to edit it.
In the new window you can add the participants using the "by name" or the "by expression" option. If you have the username stored in a variable, you can use it here to dynamically assign the task.
