Setting a language specific XLF as default

Hi guys
I'm developing an application that must work with 3 specific languages ( English, Spanish and Portuguese )...
I created the xlf files for these languages and everything is working fine...
The big "problem" is: When I need to change an text from an specific label into my IView, the DS changes the default XLF file, even if the locale of my IView is setted for one of the 3 languages!
Can I tell DS to use an specific XLF instead of the default file, to make my life easier?
Thanks and regards
Borges, Alexandre

Let us assume that your default language is English and you selected English as default language while creating this project.
Remove all the files ending with  "_en.xlf" from your project. Then what ever the changes you make, you can immediately see the changes for English language.
This is how it works: Web Dynpro looks for explicit language versions(like _en.xlf, _es.xlf etc), if not found, then what ever language strings are available in default(.xlf files don't contain language key). On changing language text to any elements, they are immediately updated in default language files.

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

  • Accessibility - Language Specification

Using Adobe Life Cycle Designer how do you add a language specification for forms? It is important to specific a language for accessibility reasons. We know how to do that in Adobe 7 but not in designer. In the past we have has problems editing forms in Adobe that were created in Designer. Anyone know this answer?

Every form has a locale, set on the "form1" subform. You can change the form's locale by going to "File | Form Properties... | Defaults" and changing the "Default Form Locale" dropdown. (Note that this menu option is only available when you have a form open.)
Every object on the form will, by default, have the same locale as the form. If you want an object to have a different locale than that of the form, select the object on canvas, and go to the Object Inspector's Field palette. At the bottom of the palette (you may have to resize if to see this) there's a "Locale" dropdown. This sets the locale of the selected object.
If the selected object is a subform, then all the objects in that subform will inherit the locale of the subform (instead of the locale of the form).

  • Issue with language specific characters combined with AD-Logon to BO platform and client tools

We are using SSO via Win AD to logon to BO-Launchpad. Generally this is working which means for Launch Pad no manual log on is needed. But  this is not working for users which have language specific letters in their AD name (e.g. öäüéèê...).
What we have tried up to now:
If the AD-User name is Test-BÖ the log on is working with the user name Test-BO with logon type AD
If the logon Type "SAP" is used than it is possible to use the name Test-BÖ as the username
Generally it is no problem in AD to use language specific letters (which means it is possible to e.g. log on to Windows with the user Test-BÖ)
It is possible to read out the AD attributes from BO side and add them to the user. Which means in the user attributes the AD name Test-BÖ is shown via automatic import from AD. So it's not the problem that the character does not reach BO.
I have opened a ticket concerning that. SAP 1th level support is telling me that this is not a BO problem. They say it is a problem of Tomcat. I don't believe that because the log on with authentification type SAP is working.
I have set up the same combination (AD User Test-BÖ with SAP User Test-BÖ) as a single sign on authentification in SAP BW and there it is working without problems.
Which leads me to the conlusion: It is not a problem of AD. It is something which is connected to the BO platform but only combined with logon type AD because SAP Logon is working with language specific characters.

I have found this article with BO support:
You cannot add a user name or an object name that only differs by a character with a diacritic mark
Basically this means AD stores the country specific letters as a base letter internally. Which means that if you have created a user with a country specific letter in the name you can also logon with the Base letter to Windows.
SAP-GUI and Windows are maybe replacing the country specific letters by the base letter. Due to that SSO is working. BO seems not to be able to do that. Up to now the supporter from BO is telling me that this is not a BO problem.
Seems to be magic that the colleagues of SAP-GUI are able to to it.

  • JMS Adapter - Set Additional JMS Parameters or Replace Default Settings

    Hi colleagues,
    We are using PI/XI 7.0 (SP 12).
In trying to set up a Communication Channel using JMS Adapter to connect to Oracle AQ, I do not see the checkbox "Set Additional JMS Parameters or Replace Default Settings" , nor is the table for the parameters / value visible.
We have deployed the driver file as described in the How-to- guide: How To Install and Configure External Drivers for JDBC & JMS Adapters
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f04ce027-934d-2a10-5a8f-fa0b1ed4d88f?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
In setting up the Communication Channel so far:
    Type: Sender
Transport Protocol: Access JMS Provider Generically
    Message Protocol:  JMS 1.x
    Adapter Engine:      Integration Server
After this I expect to see the checkbox  "Set Additional JMS Parameters or Replace Default Settings", but it is not there.
Therefore I am not able to select it in order to enter parameters like:
    JMS.QueueConnectionFactoryImpl.classname
    JMS.QueueConnectionFactoryImpl.method.setHostName
    JMS.QueueImpl.classname
    JMS.QueueImpl.constructor.... etc
Can someone please share if this because we are on too low SP or do we need to do something additional before it becomes visible?  Is this a feature that only became available as of PI/XI 7.0 SP 13 or 14 ?
I checked both Sender and Receiver channel type, and it does not appear for both.
    Thanks & Cheers,
    Jodie

    Hi experts,
We are using PI 7.1 and I've set up a communication Channel using JMS Adapter to send
messages to a Sonic MQ queue.
I need to send some values as JMS parameters, two of which are constants and two are values
from the Sender message. I tried defining and setting up the parameters with constants values
in the Communication Channel under the Advanced tab by selecting the check-box
set Adapter-specific Message Attributes as follows:
    Name     TYPE
    ContentType     String
    ReturnValue     boolean
    Name     VAlue
    Contenttype     CompanyCode
    ReturnValute     true
This however lead to an error in the Adapter Engine (RWB).
    My problem is:
    1. Can anyone please instruct me as to how to go about defining and setting up
       additional JMS parameters?
    2. How to go about defining/setting up variables that will get their values from
       the sender message?
    Thanks & Cheers,
    Joe

  • How to set AppStore language to English If my Billing in another country?

I'm really upset cuoldn't find answer still, and only found that it's impossible to set language to English, if, let's say,my billing address is in Russia.
What if I'm traveling or can only have access to card in different country?
I agree to see some Russian apps in AppStore, but some Applications switch to Russian as well as soon as I pick it as my country. (e.g. Reminders, the whole app is in Russian though I have English set in Settings).

oleg.lestat wrote:But still when i setting cursor in Google Chrome addrese bar, or my vpn client password field it switches to russian
Changeing language (e.g. to have english menues or keybord layout) on a system, took place in applications too only if the application supports that language, or uses by default the system librarys to adopt the language settings.
Not all applications use automatically the system librarys of your Mac for language settings or spell checking. Most will do so, some only during installation, some never.
Applications can have own language settings others have only the installation language available.
Have you checked this on Chrome (Wrench -> Options -> Advanced -> Change Fonts and language settings -> Language -> Google Chrome language) and your VPN Client?

  • I can't set iTunes language to Spanish

I set iTunes language to Spanish but although I restart iTunes it is still in English.
    Is this a iTunes bug?
    Thanks
*My version of iTunes is 9.2.1.5 running in a Windows 7 laptop.

If you wish to run iTunes in a language that is not the default for the country that you are living in (and therefore paying from), the iTunes helpdesk point to this article. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2242 . This article indicates that the iTunes store should pick up the language you have assigned to your MAC, however this is incorrect. iTunes picks up the language from the country you designate you are paying from.
You can change the country by using the flag button at the extreme bottom of the iTunes home page, however this will allow you to find the things you want, but you must change it back to actually purchase the content.
If you think, as I do, that this is a fault with their system, the ONLY option you have is to complain to their helpdesk, email address [email protected] If you ask to have the e-mail referred to Ashley, maybe the sheer weight of complaints will get this sorted.

  • How to set selected Language from Portal dropdown in Logon to User profile

    Hi Gurus,
I select a language in Portal Language dropdown in the Logon Page.
After login in the content is getting displayed in the browser language.
I want the portal content to be displayed in the selected language in the portal LogonPage.
I checked the thread Logon page change to add a dropdown for language
The is the requirement for me too .
Kindly suggest me on how to set the language in the Portal user Profile so that the portal contents gets displayed in the selected languages from the dropdown .
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Prasanna,
The language that the portal is displayed in depends on the following
heirarchy, with the languages at the top of the list taking precedence
    over those at the bottom:
    1. Component (iview) language (defined in the portalapp.xml)
    2. Portal Mandatory language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
    3. User language (defined in the user#s profile).
    4. Request language (defined by the browser).
    5. Portal Default language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
    6. System Default language (default locale defined by the OS).
So for example, if you have your portal user language (as in point 3)
set to Russian, but the language of the iView that is the logon page
(as in point 1) set to English, that logon page will be displayed in
    English.
Keeping the above in mind, please make the necessary changes to the
configurations and check if it helps.

  • How to set the language of oracle universal installer

    Hi all,
I have downloaded oracle9i database release 2 Enterprise/standard/personal edition for windows. so I got the them into 3 different folders as said in the oracle site. I have few questions.
1.i have installed oracle using the universal installer, but my operating system is winxp german version.I want the installer to be in english so that i can easily navigate, how can i set the language. Does the installer automatically detects the OS and chosses the language.
    2. I have 2 sql scripts. One with Schema(tables for database with create statements) and other file with data(insert statements). That is Schema.sql, data.sql. How can i use these scripts for querying using the installed database.
    3. I am totally confused with SID, how to set it and what does it indicate(functionality).
    4. The login for SQL PlUS, i used scott and tiger. Because i think the installer did not installled completely, i could not create my own username/password. What will be the host-string while logging to sqlplus.
    Thanks and Regards

Does the installer automatically detects the OS and chosses the language. From the control panel, regional setting, make default for English (United States) and English as default language. While installing oracle from OU, choose only english langauge.

How can i use these scripts for querying using the installed database.Once you have installed oracle and create database, make sure the following and then run your scripts.
    1. Check oracle services are started or not from the windows services. If yes, then do step 2, else, start services first and then do step 2.
    2. set oracle_sid=your_database_name
    3. sqlplus /nolog -- when you give this command, if you get reply that connected to idel instance, then, your database is not up, in this case, startup your database after step 4. (startup)
    4. connect / as sysdba
    5. run your script to create schema.
--once schem created. connec to your newly created schema.
    6. connect username/password --
    7. run the script (insert records)
    3. I am totally confused with SID, how to set it and what does it indicate(functionality).ORACLE_SID is nothing bur your oracle database name. You will be asked to provide the database name while installing and creating oracle database.

If you want to access database from other machines, then, you need to create a tnsname to connect.

  • Setting Primary Language in a multilanguage OSD in Windows 8.1

    Hi!
I use unattended xml file to add the keyboard languages during OSD, here is a snippet of the xml file:
                <InputLocale>0409:00000409;0406:00000406;040b:0000040b;041d:0000041d;0414:00000414</InputLocale>
                <SystemLocale>en-US</SystemLocale>
                <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage>
                <UILanguageFallback>en-US</UILanguageFallback>
                <UserLocale>en-US</UserLocale>
    (en-US, da-DK, fi-FI, sv-SE, nb-NO)
This is necessary so users can set the desired keyboard for first time log on.
However, when the user has logged on, the order of the languages in control panel, decides witch language is set as "Primary Language" (not to be confused with display language). The top Language is the Primary Language in windows 8 and 8.1
    So my question is:
How can I change the order of the languages with either unattended xml or script (vbscript, powershell, etc), so it can be automated in OSD?

Ok, so I finally figured it out!
I added two Run Command Line's
The "Language Order" package contains two files, RunOnce.cmd and SetLanguageOrder.ps1
    The RunOnce.cmd contains the following:
    reg load HKU\DefaultUser "C:\Users\Default\ntuser.dat"
    REG ADD HKU\DefaultUser\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce /v newUserProfile /t REG_SZ /d "\"C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Powershell.exe\" -noprofile -file \"C:\Program Files\SetLanguageOrder\SetLanguageOrder.ps1\""
    /f
    reg unload HKU\DefaultUser
    xcopy SetLanguageOrder.ps1 "C:\Program Files\SetLanguageOrder\"
    The SetLanguageOrder.ps1 contains the following:
Set-WinUserLanguageList -Language en-US, nb, sv-SE, da, fi -force
I hope this will help someone else later on!

    Reason and Prerequisites
URL iView new feature: Adding Language-Specific URLs
    Solution
As from NW04 SP18, URL iView presents a new feature: Language-Specific URLs. The new feature enables you to define more than one source URL for any URL iView. Apart from the default URL, which is not language-specific, you can define any number of additional URLs; each one corresponding to a different language. If a portal user's language matches a language defined in the iView, then the corresponding language-specific URL will be executed at runtime. If a portal user's language does not matches a language defined in the iView, then the default URL will be executed.

  • Language specific fonts

    Hi ,
I need to take the language specific fonts available in the system. Now we can get all the available fonts of a system.
According to my requirement, if I choose a language i.e chinese then the relevant fonts of chinese should be displayed. From which the user will select a particular font. This has to to be set thru SetFont method.
Can anyone suggest a solution for the above requirement.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,
I wouldn't think that that capability would ever exist in the API, for the simple fact that the same language is capable of having multiple character sets. Chinese has two, Traditional and Simplified. One is used in mainland China and Hong Kong, the other in Taiwan. The difference is in how the characters are rounded, and also in stroke order - characters in one can potentially have strokes added or removed in the other, making them quite different in places. And this is all under the one language.
If it ever was to join the API, I think it would have to be under a Locale rather than just a language, as the country or region is a factor also.
    Hope that helps!
