Setting a Time / Date period limit to view a Movie

I am creating an interactive presentation and distributing it
on CD. The presentation will be password protected - all very easy
The part I need help with is - I want to be able to set a
time / date restriction on the presentation. ie. the presentation
will no longer work after a specific date or alternatively only
work on a specified date - to prevent the presentation from being
viewed after a set date.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

if the systemDate>date(2009,1,15) then halt
Put that command in your startMovie handler. If the current
date on the
computer is greater than Jan 15, 2009, then the program will
not play.
Obviously, you can change the numbers in that date to match
the date you
wish to use.

When I set the 'include time data' input on the 'build table' express VI to true, it gives me two sets of identical time data because the input signal is two sets of data merged together. Anyone know how to get rid of one of these columns?

Mobile Device - Setting System Time/Date class

Hi All,
If I use the java.util.Date class, it returns a different time on the .toString() method than my clock is actually showing... The .toString() returns a time that is 2 hour behind.
Basically, my timezone is GMT+2. So, if my time (displayed on my clock top right corner of my device's screen) is 3:00, the .toString() method returns that it is actually 1:00!
Why could it be 2 hours behind??? Where does the Date class actually get the time from?

You can also use WMI to set the time on remote computers.

High number of "The connection has timed out" errors. Where do I set the time out period (variable and file name) - windows 7

I usually use a wireless network at home and have very few time out problems with Firefox.
I am travelling and using Optus Wireless broadband where the average ping to a site is 700+ms .
I suspect that this is the cause of the high number of timeouts I am experiencing.
Optus say there are no problems so I think I will have to set the timeout to a longer period.
Please advise what variable name/s (and in which file) the timeout is set for LOADING PAGES.

Having the same problem 4 out of 5 times I try to navigate to a new site I get the error "connection has timed out".
My I phone works fine on the same wireless connection so it must be something to do with the computer. The problem occurs on IE, firefox, and google chrome.
I too would like to know how to how to either fix this problem or failing that to extend the length of time before the connection times out (which is currently only about 5 seconds).
Please help!

Set a time/date for forms to automatically close

We are using Forms Central for proposal submissions. There is a deadline for the proposals to be turned in, and up to now, we've had to turn the form off by hand.
Is there a way to set up the form so that it automatically closes itself at a certain date and time? So, for instance, if a proposal is due on Friday, February 7, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, the form will switch itself to "Closed" at that time?

I have an A2300 camera and don't know how to use it. How do you set the time/date.

I am a novice at this. I can take pictures, buy can't find them. Does the cd that came with the camera show how to
operate the camera. What is the function key for and how do you use it.

Hello Tross!
When you take images, provided that you have a memory card inserted, they are saved direct to the card. They can be accessed in camera by going into the Playback menu. There is a CD that has an instruction manual on it that does show you how to use the camera. If you do not have this, you can download the manual here.
The Function/ Set button serves two main functions. One, it displays a small menu where you set the shooting mode and image quality options. Second, all setting that need to be confirmed are done with the Function/ Set button.
Changing the date and time settings
1. Press the Menu button.
3. The Tools Menu appears. Go to Date and Time.
4. Next, operate the date and time screen:
Set the year, month, date, and time.
Change the year, month, and date.
- Set the daylight saving time (one hour is added to the current time).
5. After the settings are completed, press the ) button.

How to set up time machine so it can view old backup after renewal of user rights ?

I am newbie in the mac world but I am very happy to use the devices I have.
I just both and setup time capsule and did firt initial backup with time machine into account I have setup on the TC. But after while I was not able to view my user folder, so I resetup the user rights.
But now when I turn on time machine, I say that I didnt perform initial backup. In finder I am able to see and acces my folder on TC now and there is also a file with backup with name Václav - Mac mini.sparsebundle just in the root of my user folder on TC.
Can you please help me how to tell TM, that there is a initial backup that can be used for other incremental backups in the future ?

I did that. But and then reopen TM but still I dont see backup performed any suggestions ?
"Inherit" a backup
Copy the following after the prompt, and leave a space, but do not press Return yet:
sudo tmutil inheritbackup
If your backups are on an external HD, locate and open the drive in the Finder window. At the top level of the drive is a Backups.backupdb folder containing a folder named for your old Mac, per the sample. This is what you want the new Mac to "inherit." Drag that folder to the Terminal window.

HELP! I can't set up Time Capsule, period!

Call me unintelligent but perhaps I'm just tired.
I've got my new Time Capsule, installed the software, connected it via Ethernet to my router, and plugged it into the power. All the Apple site tells me to do is to tell the Airport Utility to set up a new wireless system. But that's taken away my internet connection, meanwhile it says it can't connect to the internet.
GAAAAAH! Why is it so complicated to set up something that should be so simple?
Help very much appreciated.

Dammit, now Airport Utility can't even recognise my Time Capsule at all... WHY?!
When the Time Capsule (TC) is new out of box, it is broadcasting a wireless network with a name like +Apple Network xxxxxx+. AirPort Utility uses this network connection to allow you to configure the TC. In other words, your computer is logged onto the +Apple Network xxxxxx+ during the configuration of the TC.
Because you configured the Time Capsule to create a new wireless network (I assume that you gave this new network a name), when you clicked the Update button, the TC started to broadcast a new network using the name that you assigned to it. So, the TC "disappeared" from AirPort Utility because it was no longer connected to AirPort Utility. You changed networks, remember?
But...your computer is not logged onto this network, so it can't see the TC.
Close AirPort Utility.
Click the fan shaped Airport icon at the top of your computer screen and look for the name of the wireless network that you created and log on to that network.
Once you are connected, you can now open AirPort Utility and "see" the TC.
For many users, it is simpler to temporarily connect an ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the TC to your computer to configure it that way. Becasue you are using an ethernet connection and not changing wireless networks, the TC will stay present in AirPort Utility.
Once you have the TC configured and updated, you can disconnect the ethernet cable. But, you will still need to log on to the wireless network that the Time Capsule is broadcasting.

How do you set your time/date default preference in pages?

I am trying to set my default settings, anyone know how you change the default setting on pages?

It gets it from the System.
Otherwise you have to individually right click on the Inserted date in Pages to set it to what you want.
Another alternative is once you have the Date the way you want it, to copy and paste it.

Time/Date reset after plugged in to computer

Hi,
For the past few days, my IPod Touch (2nd Gen) has re-set the time/date settings any time I have plugged it into either my laptop or desktop to charge. It resets to January 23, 2002, and loses about six hours in the 'time'.
I googled for a solution and someone suggested a workaround was to make sure ITunes was shut down before plugging it in, but I tried that and it didn't fix the issue. The time and date are correct on both computers.
I've had it for well over a year and this is a new problem.
Any suggestions?

What should I change it to? I guess I may not be understanding what you are saying.
I've plugged it into two different computers, both of which are set to the correct date and time, and both of them cause it to revert back to January 30, 2002 and take the 'time' back several hours. It's 8:47 AM here right now, and the Touch has reset to 11:49 PM after having been plugged in.
When I re-set it, I get pop-up notifications for every event I've stored in my calendar since the day I got my Touch in '09.
I did just locate my wall charger and tried it there. That doesn't mess with the time/date, so I'll just use that to charge it if there is no work-around... but I'd love to know what I could do to fix it.

Time & Date keep refreshing in BIOS

I'm new to Toshs so I am sure this is a very easy problem. Keep re-setting the time & date.
It will hold in the BIOS for about a week and then need to be updated again. I'm upgrading the hard drive anyway but don't want to start this without getting to the route of this issus.

I think the RTC (BIOS) battery is not fully charged.
In the user manual you should find details about BIOS battery and how long its necessary to charge it.
I think you should let the notebook running for about 12-16 hours on ac adapter.
Then the RTC battery should be fully charged

IPhone 4s text messages - wrong time / date

Hi all,
My iPhone text (BOTH sms and iMessages) are showing the wrong time and date.
EG. Got a message at 16:00hrs today and it is showing Saturday for the date and time... But when I open the message up it shows 28 Dec 11 16:00 but then when I got back to messages it showing Saturday.
This is the same for text and imessages

I have Verizon and it happened yesterday in Denver.
I believe when the time/ date source goes bad (yesterday my phone changed to April 22 2014 on February 4th 2014. When the time goes bad iMessage shuts down due to the time error mismatch with the server.
I set the time/date/time zone manually and iMessage would connect again.
Today I switched back to set time automatically and it was working again.

How do you set the time period on IMAP email accounts (razr maxx)

Does anyone know how you can set the time period that the stock email will keep the already downloaded messages for IMAP email accounts?
Mine never seems to show more than a couple of days worth at a time. I'd ideally like to be able to see at least 2 weeks worth of messages without needing to download them again!
On other phones I've had there was a setting in the menu, but either I can't find it...or it's not there. I've found the setting for how OFTEN it checks the accounts, but not the setting I am seeking.

Can I set up a Content Filter that is Time/Date stamp dependent?

My company would like to add an additional disclaimer text during Holidays where the company is closed. It will say something like: "In observance of the 'XYZ' holiday, our offices will be closing at 3:00 PM on Friday, December........ and will reopen at 8:30 AM Monday.......".
I was wondering if there is a way to set up conditions in an Outgoing content filter to only include that text if the email is sent between certain dates.
This would allow me to set up the filters prior to the holidays and not have to manage them manually.
I tried to do it via Exchange Transport rule, but I can't find a time/date dependent condition for the rules in Exchange.

Hi Rachel,
there is no way to archive this directly in content filters, an indirect way would be to use a message filter that adds an additional header (i.e. X-mas: true) during a specific period. For that, message filters provide the 'date' rule, i.e
HolidayHeader:
if ((date > '12/20/2012 13:00:00') and
(date < '12/28/2012 12:00:00'))
insert-header('X-mas', 'TRUE');
You'd then create an outbound content filter matching on this header and inserting the specific footer if the header exists. Or, of course, you could have that action in the message filter already, however in that case you need additional conditions to make sure the rule applies on outbound messages only.
