Setting directory dynamically in File adapter in BPM 11g

Hi,
I am using file adapter in BPM 11g for writing perpose. While configuring, it is required to provide the directory location, which can be either physical path or logical. The location where the new file will be stored/saved is written in a text file. I want to fetch the location from that text file and want to store the new file in that particular location at run time. Please help !!!!

Hi,
You can dynamically set -among others- the outbound directory and outbound file name for a File Adapter. See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#CIACICFD. If you need to retrieve the information beforehand from another file, you could use a synchronous read. See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABDCEBE.

The docs says I need to add an Outbound Connection Pool to to SOA DbAdaptor in WebLogic. The problem is I can’t seem to make my changes take effect. This is the same error recorded here:
    BPEL DB adapter
The problem is when trying to change the property, xADataSourceName, the changes don’t take effect. I also notice that in our test environment I get a dialog box to change the deployment plan. On my local WLS, I don’t get this dialog box. Either way the changes to xADataSourceName will not take effect.
There must be a simple solution, I just don’t see it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you enter the xADataSourceName property, did you hit enter on the field? If you simply tab off the field and hit save changes without hitting the enter key then it doesn't record the change to the property.

  • Dynamic Configuration - Set Directory Path for File Receiver Adapter

    Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding the dynamic configuration for the file adapter. Is it possible to set a directory path without a message mapping for the file receiver adapter? the problem is that I want to import a pdf document. this pdf document I want to store in a dynamic directory (depending on the filename). so I have to read the filename out of the dynamic configuration and generate (depending on the filename) a directory for this file. Is that possible without a message mapping? I cannot make a message mapping because the file has the pdf format and should not get changed.
    best regards
    Christopher Kühn

    Hi Gaurav,
I use the ASMA (respectively the filename) for the sender adapter. After the pdf was imported into XI this filename is in the ASMA.
But what then??? How can I get this filename with the help of the variable substitution? and if I have this filename I have to change this filename a bit to generate the name / path of the directory.
Please explain it to me detailled
    Thanks and regards

  • Dynamic FTP Directory Address in File Adapter - is this possible?

We have a customer who would like us to pick up a file via an FTP file adapter once per day. The problem is, they have a different directory each day containing the file. The directory name is of the form YYYY-MM-DD. The name of the file in the directory is always the same.
Is it possible to dynamically calculate the Source Directory name in the FTP file adapter? If so, how?
    Kind Regards,

    Hi,
All the examples I have seen are to configure the Receiver File Adapter, not the Sender File Adapter. I don't thinl I have seen one blog yet whereby the source directory of a Sender File Adapter has been dynamically configured. I wonder if it can be done because the sender file adapter does not have Variable Substitution possibilities for filenames and directories.
So has anybody a link to a blog where this dynamic choice of a source directory has been done for a SENDER file adapter?

  • File/Directory renaming on file adapter

    Hello
I have a scenario that gets a xml file from mail adapter and sends to a file adapter.
I only use ID on my scenario, as described on blog (/people/william.li/blog/2006/09/08/how-to-send-any-data-even-binary-through-xi-without-using-the-integration-repository).
How can I rename the directory of the destination file WITHOUT using any mapping on IR (because I DONT use IR) ?
I want the destination directory to be as /tmp/(today'syear)/(month)/
I already read the SAP documentation about File Adapter but I wasn't able get a solution.
    Thanks

If that is the case then you need to change the file name in FILE RECEIVER CC by implementing the Module .

  • Specifying current directory in Receiver File Adapter

    Hi Experts,
I have been configuring a receiver file adapter to place a file onto an FTP server. As per the information provided, as soon as I login to the FTP server, I have to place the file in current logged in directory. In this case, how can I mention this in file adapter as to use the current directory path to place the file? What should I enter in 'Target Directory' in File Access Parameters?
    Thanks,
    Dhawal

    Hi Praveen,
Since file directory parameter is mandatory, my question is what should I enter in this parameter so that the file adapter will know that the file should be placed in the root directory itself?

  • Need to get file name and directory back from file adapter - WRITE

I am using the file adapter to write a file. I want to log the file name of the file we just created. Since we use a precise timestamp in the file name, I can't accurately guess.
I have an invoke in my BPEL process to the file adapter. My first try was to assign the jca.file.FileName property to a variable, but it never comes back. I looked around and saw plenty of ways to SET the file name for a write and GET the file name for a read, but no GET file name for WRITE.
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

I think I got your point... You can tell FileAdapter the filename to write, but if you don't then FileAdapter can not tell you the filename that it wrote... I think it is pretty possible Oracle didn't implement the latter, as the write operation is probably asynchronous and the filename is calculated later on...
If what you want is just log, you may achieve your requirement by increasing verbosity on Adapter logs... Have a look at the link bellow...
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/integration.1111/e10226/ad_mon.htm#CJHHBBID
Otherwise, the solution for you will be to calculate filename yourself, and that will be a little bit of reinventing the wheel... But at least you will know the filename...

  • Directory specification for File Adapter

    Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to determine a directory where message is saved for file adapter based on message content.
E.g. I have general directory (GD) under which I would like to save a messages in directories with are called based on vendor number what is part of a message.
So a message would be saved in
    ...\GD\vendor number\file name.
In case that vendor number directory is not created yet I need to create it.
I know that in file adapter a directory name is constant and file name can differ based on settings.
This behaviour is in Business Connector enabled through possibility to write an "user-exit" in Java for directory determination.
Is something similar possible in XI ?
We are currently running on XI 3.0 with external adapter engine version 2.0 but to use internal adapter engine is no problem for me.
    Thank you for your advice.
    Marian Morzol

    Hi Marian,
You can do this with content based routing in the interface determination, but then you have to create a new interface/channel for every extra directory.
    Cheers,
    Frank

  • Need example to create File names dynamically using File adapter

    hello,
I am mapping an IDOC to a flat file using XI and a file adapter. I need to be able to output a file name dynamically depending on the data in the IDOC.  For example if the IDOC has 310 as the company code, the file name should be xyz.310 and if the IDOC has 600 as the company code, the file name created by the file adapter should be xyz.600.  Please some body provide me with an example of the XSLT code that I will have to write in the dispatcher User Exit.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Nope
But you could add a dummy row to your source to include column headers and then use options column headers in first row in flat file connection manager.
So suppose you've three columns column0,coulmn1,column2 and you want to make it as ID,Name,Datethen make source query as
SELECT 'ID' AS Col1,'Name' AS Col2,'Date' AS Col3, 0 AS ord
    UNION ALL
    SELECT Column1,Column2,Column3,1
    FROM YourTable
    ORDER BY Ord
then choose  column headers in first row option

  • Dynamic process call in Oracle BPM 11g

    Hi All,
I worked on oracle BPM 10g and in that we can decide the target process based on a parameter (targetprocessname) in subflow / process creation by creating a interface.
simillaly do we have any way by which we can decide child process in runtime?
For example: I have 3 process (1 main - A and 2 child process - B and C ), Main process can call anyone of child process based on one parameter. i.e., if a parameter value X>10 then it should call process B else process C
    Thanks in advance

    Automatic activities no longer exist.
To make process/project variable assignments you use a Script activity to make simple or XPath expression based value assignments.
You can also make assignments based on a XSL transformation. This is useful in cases where you're calling a service and the inputs/outputs don't quite match what you have defined in your business objects in the BPMN process.
For conditional assignments ("if A then B, else C") you would typically use a Business Rule activity.
I'm not aware of a way to output debugging log messages or set breakpoints directly in a BPMN process in 11g. You can however use a file adapter at the composite.xml level and call that as a service in your BPMN process to write out data values to the filesystem for debugging - although this approach is kludgy at best.

I even tired creating a new WM thread and assigned to this proxy.
I have chosen MaxThreadsConstraint option with Maximum of 5 concurrent thread.
Also i have enabled Ignore Stuck Threads in that WM thread.
Now i dont see any thread stuck in the server log, but sametime the file is not been picked by the Proxy which means the error is suppressed alone from displaying in logs..

  • Set Output Dir Dynamically for File Adapter

  • Generate target filename dynamically / Receiver File Adapter

    Hi Community Members,
First of all I would like to say hello to everybody, as this is my first post in this forum.
I start with PI and would like to prepare a simple DEBMAS -> .csv interface.
In fact it is already done, but the requirement is to name .csv files according to customer number (KUNNR).
Hence is my question ... how to set CC to be assigning KUNNRs to file names? (like 123456.csv)
From what I can in the net people are using ASMA, but isn't there any simpler solution?
What I tried inside message mapping was to bound KUNNR field from my source message to root element of target message.
In addition I also set Field Name Scheme to *.csv in CC settings. Unfortunately I am receiving a CC error
The parameter "argument" has the value "/interfaces/PI/inbound/test/.csv", so it contains the character "/interfaces/PI/inbound/test/.csv" which is not allowed
But anyway if I would like to use ASMA I see I need to write a Java funciton as UDF.
    Example tutorial [http://www.****************/Tips/XI/ASMA/Index.htm]
But what next? How would I implement it into message mapping, to which xml element should it be assigned and what should be passed as function input, to make java function work?
    Regards,

    hI bobens ,
you have to follw bellow steps  because dynamicalluy we had call file name as same as your requirement.
    STEP1:  WRITE dynamic configuratio:
    Public String DynamicConfig(String a, Container container) throws StreamTransformationException{
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    conf.put(key,a);
    return "";
    step2: in mapping
    KUNNR + constant(.CSV) -> Concat -> udf(dynamic configuration) -> target root node
    Configuration objects:
    3. Receiver communication channel:
    file name : ConfiguredDynamically
    in Adavnce mode :
you have to enable these check boxes: use asma , fail  if asma,  filename.

  • How to change read-directory when using file adapter

Hi, I'm deploying BPEL process to read files from a directory. I want to change the directory where to read dynamically. This can be achieved by using a file header variable. I know how to do this. But, the problem for me is that I can not find a place to assign this file header variable a correct value. The first step in my BPEL process is the receive-step and this has to be the first step. I wanted to place the assign-step before this step but this makes the BPEL process invalid. First step has to be a receive or a pick-step. So, now I have a dilemma! Anyone an advice on this?
