Setting faultstring from BPEL/Mediator

Hi Experts,
I'm developing an SCA based application where my oracle mediator routes the request to BPEL process which in turns execute an API through adapter. The problem here that the fault which i throw from mediator is being encapsulated in the detail section of the actual soap fault when returned to the client. Is there any way to set the faultString of the standard SOAP fault envelope from mediiator/BPEL process?? any help on this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sai

can some one please help on this issue.

    To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Download and review the readme and pre-requisites for iAS Patch 18855074.
    Note: Above Merge Label Request (MLR) is build for EBS 12.1.3 having OC4J 10.1.3.5.
    2. Enable the profile option "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled".
    a. Login as SYSADMIN user and Navigate to System >Profile  and Search for "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled" (Internal name :EBS_ADAPTER_FUNCTION_SEC_ENABLED)
    b. Set the Value to 'Y' at SITE level . This means  function security feature is enabled and all API calls for PL/SQL APIs, Oracle e-Commerce Gateway, and concurrent programs will be checked for user security before they are invoked.
    3. Retest the issue by Generating and Deploying the required package.
    4. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

  • Problem in calling order import concurrent program from BPEL

    Hi all,
    Iam doing a sales order creation in oracle apps using Apps Adapter.
    I have successfully inserted the order into the interface tables using an Apps adapter.
    Now I need to run Order Import program from BPEL to move the data from interface tables to the base tables for which i use another Apps Adapter.
    When I invoke the OEIMP concurrent program from BPEL ,request id is returned.But the concurrent program fails showing incomplete parameters.
    But it works when I invoke it from the front end in oracle apps.
    I think the problem lies in passing the inputs to the concurrent program from the BPEL.
    Any help to solve the issue will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    goutam

    Previously, I was passing the values to the concurrent program variables through ASSIGN component,which resulted in some namespace issues.Then I replaced it with TRANSFORM component.
    Also,First I assigned the values to the concurrent program variables as 'Vision Operations'(operating_unit), 'Online'(order_source) ,No (validate_only), No (validate_desc_flex) which are mandatory and just left non mandatory variables without assigning values.
    I changed those values as *'204','0','N','N'*. And also set non mandatory variables value as EMPTY.
    After doing all these I found the concurrent program catches all the parameter values correctly, and the records got imported from interface tables to the base tables.Thus the sales order got created successfully.
    Thanks,
    goutam

    Hi,
    I have applied oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy for my proxy service and trying to test that from OSB Test Console. I am getting below error,
    "[OSB Security - OWSM:387253]Failed to initialize Owsm Credential Manager. Please validate the Keystore Configuration"
    When i have launched Test Console for this proxy, i have observed in Security part, oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy is appearing. I am not sure why oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy is appearing there when i applied oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy to my proxy service.
    Also do i have to need to configure any Keystore for oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy, If so please tell me the process.
    If no key store is required where will the credentials be stored.
    Thanks

    Sandor,
    Thanks. Your suggestion of turning off optSoapShortcut worked. So does that mean that by default remote web services cannot be invoked from BPEL process by SOAP - unless this configuration change is done ?

  • 10g: Invoking a web service asynchronously from BPEL

    Hello,
    I am trying to figure out a good, generic method for making a previously synchronous web service asynchronous and changing the way in which it is invoked from BPEL. I am using SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.5)
    As I understand, one possible method to achieve this is to use IDeliveryService.post() to deliver the web service's response to the BPEL process. For this route, the standard practice of correlation seems to be to supply a correlation Id when invoking the web service and returning the same correlation id as a part of the web service's response message. However, I want to avoid this since it would mean that all response messages from the web service (10+) would have to be modified to include a correlationId, which is problematic in the special case of this web service. Including a correlationId in the request message is possible, however.
    I have tried the approach of using the conversation Id directly instead of the correlation Id, by reading the value of ora:getConversationId(), passing this to the web service and setting the property CONVERSATION_ID of the response NormalizedMessage to the same value when returning. However, I cannot seem to get this approach right. Is this possible at all?
    An alternative might be to use WS-Addressing, but I do not know if I can make the web service support this - it is written using the EJB WebService-Annotations feature and runs on OC4J as well.
    Do you have any suggestions on how this problem could be resolved?
    Edited by: 901765 on 12.12.2011 06:01

    I have found the following tutorial that implements something similiar to what I am trying to do: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/10g/10135/odiscenario_bpelcallback/odiscenario_bpelcallback.htm#t3
    Because of this, I am now confident that the conversation IDs can be used to achieve correlation. I have implemented the pattern by performing
    an invoke activity on the web service, passing the result of ora:getConversationId() as part of the message. The conversation Id returned is of UUID-Form.
    After the invoke activity, I have added a pick activity to receive the response message supplied by the web service through IDeliveryService.post(...). I can see that the message is received correctly by loooking at the contents of DLV_MESSAGE. However, the pick activity times out every time (after 10m). Looking at DLV_SUBSCRIPTION reveals that the conversation_id for the pick/receive activity is set to a value of the form bpel://localhost/default/MyBpelProcessName~1.0/7610001-BpInv0-BpSeq2.7-2. As far as I know, this should instead be set to the UUID that ora:getConversationId() returned before performing the invoke activity. What is going wrong here?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Need help calling stateful web service from BPEL 10.1.3.1

    I found the tutorial located at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/htdocs/callingstatefulwsfrombpel.html which talks about how to call a stateful web service, it is also mentioned on Clemens Utschig's SOA blog.
    The problem is that the code for the handlers will not compile as given under 10.1.3.1 -- it seems that the method signature for the invoke method has changed in the interface com.collaxa.cube.ws.HeaderHandler
    Has anyone gotten this to work in 10.1.3.1 or can anyone give me a tip on how to call a stateful web service in a different manner from BPEL?

  • How To : Call External Webservice from BPEL and pass SOAP Message to the WS

    Hello All-
    Greetings to all BPEL gurus. I am currently facing difficulties in calling an External Webservice from my BPEL Process and passing SOAP Message to it. The details are below:
    <strong>1. The BPEL process, using database polling feature of DB Adapter, will get the records from the database.</strong>
    <strong>2. Transform the message</strong>
    <strong>3. Call the External Webservice and pass the transformed message as the input to it. However the Webservice expects the BPEL process to send SOAP headers in the input message.</strong>
    I am struggling on how to put the transformed message within a SOAP envelope in the BPEL process.
    If anyone had similar requirements and have successfully been able to send SOAP messages from BPEL process to an external webservice, kindly let me know.
    Also if there is some kind of documentation or any link in the forum that I can refer, please let me know that as well.
    I am new to Webservice integration using BPEL and would really appreciate your help.

    Hi Dharmendra,
    I am trying to send a SOAP message from my BPEL process to a web service. I have a complete SOAP message in a complex variable defined in the wsdl for the partnerlink (web service). My problem is that when I invoke the partnerlink it fails even though the content shown in the BPEL console looks valid.
    I have set up obtunnel to see what I am actually sending out from BPEL. You mention that BPEL creates the SOAP envelope automatically.
    I think that my problem is a result of this automatic SOAP envelope that BPEL is creating. Do you know if there is a way to turn it off?
    This is what I see in the TCP monitor, please note the double SOAP env:Body:

  • Complex object as parameter from BPEL PM to Web Service

    Hello,
    I'm having a problem with being able to invoke a method on my web service from BPEL PM. It's a 'create' method, so I'm sending a complex object as the input parameter of the method.
    I'm encountering the same kind of problems I have at different stages in the project I'm on: SOA works really well as long as you don't use complex objects. As soon as you do, SimpleDeserializer exceptions seem to be thrown all over the place. In this case, the error I'm getting is:

    The WSDL is at:

    I'm invoking the 'createEvent' method. I know the service works okay because I've tested it with Rational Software Architect and Eclipse's Web Services Explorer, and also with standalone code and JUnit tests.
    The problem seems to be getting the mapping from BPEL PM to the Web Service. I'm sending the object as a message type that's defined in the WSDL of the service:
    <xsd:element name="createEventRequest" type="tns:event" />
    - <xsd:complexType name="event">

    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    Is this something that's
    a) fixable?
    b) workaroundable?
    c) a known issue?

    Thanks in advance,

    Thanks for the quick reply.Actually the web service is already deployed on the server.What I want to do is use existing wsdl file of the deployed web service and invoke the method of the same using oracle PM.
    If I remove element which uses apachesoap:Map type it just works fine also I am getting the complex object returned by the web service method.But when I try to set appDataDef which is of type apachesoap:Map(Axis conversion for java.util.Map and it uses namespace xmlns:apachesoap="http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap") I am getting the error.
    Can you give me some direction to use this exising wsdl file to set map object or it is not possible.

  • Issue in Invoking Enterprise WSDL from BPEL Process

    Hi,
    I am trying to an enterprise WSDL from BPEL. And its giving same error every time.
    "Unable to access the following endpoint(s): https://test.salesforce.com/services..........."
    While I am able to call the methods inside WSDL from soapUI. I know this is not the normal WSDL we use....this WSDL doesn't support get.
    Any help will be highly appreciated....
    Regards,
    En

    I have been able to get this working using 11.1.1.3. Basically you need to create a keystore using the keytool utility that comes with the JDK. You can get the x.509 certificate from https://login.salesforce.com via your browser. Just go the site and view the site certificate which with Firefox you do by double clicking the padlock in the lower right hand corner of the browser. Save the cert and create teh keystore like follows
    keytool -importcert -alias login.salesforce.com -file login.salesforce.com.pem -keystore mySSLidentities
    Once you have this done you set the -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=your_truststore_location in JAVA_OPTIONS within your setDomainEnv.sh or setDomainEnv.bat file. Once this is done you and restart the SOA server you should be ok.
    See section 6.2 in the Oracle® Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Business Process Management Suite
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
    Part Number E10226-04
    You will need to also add the certificate for the URL you get back via the sfdc login call. Use the same procedure as above. What I have to figure out now is how to set the endpoint dynamically for salesforce.com web service calls after the login call.

  • XML Gateway outbound from BPEL

    We are trying to get the data from EBS using BPEL Process through XML Gateway outbound.
    We created XML Gateway DTD and Map and successfully posting to ECX_OUTBOUND and other sysyems(WebMethods).
    Now we are trying access it from BPEL. We created Receive activity to get the XML Payload from ECX_OUTBOUND. But Process is struck in receive activity. Receive activity is waiting for response.
    I am not sure we may be doing some thing wrong. Please help us.

    I have created screen-shots to show that.
    Receive
    Variable
    Port
    I have also tried adding header variable to receive activity in xml but it's not working
    <receive name="Receive_1" createInstance="yes"
    variable="Receive_1_Dequeue_InputVariable_1"
    partnerLink="ECX_OUTBOUND" portType="ns1:Dequeue_ptt"
    operation="Dequeue" bpelx:headerVariable="Variable_1"/>
    Thanks for your help
    Pawel
    What's more: When I change port type operation input message to Header_msg i gets the message to my Variable_1 of type Header_msg but data loaded to it is in format of this PROCESS_PO_007_msg
    I've found in documentation:
    Supporting for Normalized Message Properties
    To effectively set applications context values required in a BPEL process or to populate
    mandatory header variables for XML Gateway inbound transactions to complete
    successfully, Adapter for Oracle Applications provides a flexible mechanism that allows
    each context value and header variable to be set and passed in the adapter user interface
    directly through the Invoke activity. This message normalization feature not only
    provides a flexible solution on header support, but also simplifies the design-time tasks
    without using an Assign activity to pass header values.
    Setting Message Properties for Applications Context
    But there is nothing about Outbound transactions....

    Even i tried adding <AuthenticationRequired> details to the above and its not working.
    i restarted the server after modifications.
    i tried pinging the SMTP server of my domain, and its connecting successfully.
    Could any one suggest me the solution for this problem.
    is there anything extra need to be configured for this..?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, ravigali :
    Following are some steps I take to set Email notification in BPEL:
    A important thing: get the right parameters of your Email server.
    Step:
    1. Alter ns_emails.xml (in D:\soft\SOASuite\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bpel\system\services\config directory), an example is as following:
    <EmailAccounts xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/pcbpel/NotificationService"
    EmailMimeCharset=""
    NotificationMode="EMAIL">
    <EmailAccount>
    <Name>Default</Name>
    <GeneralSettings>
    <FromName>*Your Name*</FromName>
    <FromAddress>*Your Email: ***@***.com*</FromAddress>
    </GeneralSettings>
    <OutgoingServerSettings>
    <SMTPHost>*mail.***.com*</SMTPHost>
    <SMTPPort>25</SMTPPort>
    </OutgoingServerSettings>
    <IncomingServerSettings>
    <Server>*mail.***.com*</Server>
    <Port>993</Port>
    <Protocol>IMAP</Protocol>
    <UserName>***@***.com</UserName>
    <Password ns0:encrypted="false" xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/pcbpel/NotificationService">***</Password>
    <UseSSL>true</UseSSL>
    <Folder>Inbox</Folder>
    <PollingFrequency>1</PollingFrequency>
    <PostReadOperation>
    <MarkAsRead/>
    </PostReadOperation>
    </IncomingServerSettings>
    </EmailAccount>
    </EmailAccounts>
    Note: the detail explain of every XML element is in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28982/service_config.htm#sthref324 (2.2.1 Configuring the E-mail Server)
    2. Add the following property to wf_config.xml (in D:\soft\SOASuite\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bpel\system\services\config directory):
    <property name="oracle.bpel.services.notification.publisher_interval" value="1" />
    Then the BPEL server will send notification every 1 minute. More detail about this configuration to see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/notif.htm#sthref1678 (14.2.1 Reliable Notification Service).
    3. Re-start all SOA Suite services. (opmnctl startall)
    After the BPEL process invoke any E-mail notification activity and if we can’t receive any E-mail notification, we need to check the BPELNOTIFICATION table (ORABPEL database schema). And delete any error data in this table, then correct the E-mail notification setting through above steps and re-start all SOA Suite services.
    Thanks,
    Melody

    Hi,
    The auditLevel is set to production.
    I made the rollback to version 10.1.3.4, after the rollback to the version 10.1.3.4, the environment throughput is very better.
    My feeling is the database utilization on version 10.1.3.5 is very high comparing to version 10.1.3.4. The cost of queries is most elevated.
