Setting focus outside a control when no other control can get the focus
Hello
I'd like to know if there is a way to setfocus outside of a control even if there is no other control to receive the focus.
I have an editbox that has the focus (active) and I want to set visible to false to this control., but I cannot since it has the focus and there is no other controls that can get the focus.
As a temporary measure I've added another editbox that I moved outside of the visible interface to which I've moved the focus. But I would like to know the proper way to do this.

I think you are asking how to bring a windows form to the front.
If not I apologize...
The way I have done this:
1. I created a new thread.
2. I maxmized the window
I set the following properties:
ShowInTaskbar = False
TopMost = True
Focus()
BringToFront()
In all my testing I needed the window to be maximized, if it wasn't B1 stayed on top.

An yet you keep getting suggestions of how to set the focus. I looked through the API documentation and I don't see anything that would suggest you can request to see where the current focus is. Perhaps someone might still come along with a solution, but my hopes wouldn't be too high at this point. I can pass the requirement onto Product Definition, as the use case does seem interesting. Perhaps it is something we have even considered in the past.
But for now, there might be a better way to solve your problem. It will probably mean redesign the interaction. What exactly are your requirements? Do you need to be able to get the data in a particular cell of table when a button is clicked? Just throwing out some ideas here, but maybe just use the lead selection to select the row, but then have a button choice to choose the action associated with the column you want. A hack for sure - but it might work. Also it doesn't help you right now, but in the near future update to NetWeaver 7.0, WDA does have a onColSelect event for the table. -
My icloud email address is included in a friend's address group set up in Gmail. When they send an email to the group, the email never gets through to my icloud address - why?
They've always been able to send to me individually - just not when my email is part of a group or even when it's just included with several other addresses added one at a time.

Pay attention to the models of the ipads. For example, my ipad 2 can't and won't ever have airdrop. So if you have an older one that could be why you can't see it.

Just updated my iphone. Now I can se I have two! iCloud accounts? One of them appears on my phone, and I have forgotten the password. When I try to add the other account, I get the message that this account is already added, but with the name of the first account where there is no available password. I have tried several times to reset the password, bun I don't get the information I need - I have no access to email. What can I do?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

Sometimes they are there when I reopen my iPad, even without Internet access. Other times I get the message that the page can't be found because I don't have Internet access.

Is the iPod that connects an iPod touch? If not that does not mean anything since iOS devices like iPod touch, iPhone and iPad use different drivers than other iPods. -
I have bought a WD My Book World Edition to use for back-up of my iMac, but when I try and log onto the drive with Apple time Machine (back-up software) or connect in any other way I get the message 'There was a problem connecting to the server "MybookWorld.local" The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem'
It is a brand new iMac and running Lion OSX

Part One - Turn on SSH (in the admin panel)
[1] Go to to http://mybookworld.local
[2] login: username will be admin, password will be whatever you have setup. If you can't remember it should be in your Mac OS X keychain (Utilities > Keychain Access, search for "mybookworld"). If you have not changed if from the default the password will be admin as well.
[3] Switch to advanced mode.
[4] From the System tab, pick Advanced.
[5] Enable SSH Access, and click submit.
[6] Click on the network tab and then the LAN button
[7] Make a note of the IP address
Small, maybe obvious, but nevertheless important point: For the install to work, your NAS needs to be connected to a router with internet access.
Part Two - Install netatalk2.2
[8] Open Terminal.app (Utilities > Terminal)
[9] Enter the following command (substitute in 127.0.0.1 for the actual IP address you noted down in step 7), then hit return:

Have you set up any security on the Mac Connection Sharing?
Sorry but I don't use that so I'm not familiar with the settings.
But if you haven't setup and security the iPhone might not mind but I know most Windows computers do not like to connect to Open WiFi. and make sure it is WPA or WPA2.
Then again it may be a setting in the connection sharing like some type of MAC filtering or it may simply be that Mac OS X connection sharing only allows one connection at a time. Try disconnecting your phone and then connect the PC.
As to Linc's response about Windows.
Windows basically does care about connecting to open, unsecured, WiFi. But it will normally pop up a windows asking "Are myou sure you want to connect to this open network". And a simple click on yes will get you connected and an IP address.
So this is clearly a Mac OS X problem. -
I recently had to restore my Iphone 4s and ever since I cannot double click the home button whilst the phone is locked and change my music. The controls come up and I can adjust the volume but I cannot change the songs. Help needed please!!
Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable") and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.
If it's true that the server is down; anyone know when it will be back up again? Thanks in advance.

I have 3 textboxes in a window, each one should should get enabled one after the other only (i.e) Textbox2 should be enabled only after Textbox1 is filled and pressed the TAB button and Textbox3 is enabled only after Textbox2 is filled and pressed the TAB button. Textbox2 is also enabled when the cursor is in Textbox3 and SHIFT+TAB is pressed,
I tried this with the Focus Listener but i cant able to get the cursor in the textbox. Please help in this, how to do this.

You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod.... -
Preventing a window of getting the focus

I am pretty new to Java and at the moment I have a pretty big problem with the focus. Is it possible to prevent a window from getting the focus? I.e. an application has some kind of "properties" popup. So I don't want to make it impossible for the main window to get the focus until the user closes the "property"-window...

When you open your properties window you could call setEnabled(false) on the frame that should not be able to get focus and call setEnabled(true) when the user closes the properties window. You will have to pass a reference to the frame to the properties window so that the window can then do yourFrame.setEnabled(false) when it's being closed. -
Popup - how to get the focus in a specific compent

I am trying to get the focus of my pop-up in the second component.
Use case: New button in the table shows a popup to get the input from the user. There is a Undo Edit link (top-left) to discard changes, on top of the pop-up so by default the focus goes to the top left. I have input text boxes under that. And I am trying to get the focus (mouse cursor) in the first input text box rather than the undo Edit link. Any idea to implement that without using javascript ?
