Setting HTTP headers when using xrpcc
I am using xrpcc to compile my WSDL and am using the resulting code to access my web service. When accessing a web service this way, is there any way that I can set HTTP headers before the method is invoked? If not, is the only option to build all of the SOAP requests by hand and ditch all of the nice things xrpcc does for me?
Along those same lines, is there any way to get a dump of the SOAP envelope that is being sent when the xrpcc generated methods are invoked?
Thanks.
Damn, I need to read the HTTP headers that came in along with the SOAP JAXRPC message. So it looks like a similar problem. And noone answers this question. Damn.

Urgent: Corrupted HTTP Headers when using IIS Plugin on WLS 6.0 SP2/NT 2000
Hi all
I am using WLS 6.0SP2 and IIS ISAPI plugin. I am noticing some strange
behavior
when headers are passed back from WLS to PlugIn to Client
The snippet below is the output on the client side.
HTTP/1.1 200
Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0
Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2001 00:29:10 GMT
Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2001 00:29:06 GMT
Server: WebLogic 6.0 Service Pack 2 05/24/2001 11:55:28 #117037
Content-Length: 264
Content-Type: text/xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<foo>
data goes here.
</foo>
First Bug: The HTTP 1.1/200 header is missing the word 'OK'. We know for
sure that the WLS 6.0 box is setting
the correct header but the Plug In stripped it out.
Second Bug: The Date: header is repeated by the Plugin. This is not
allowed according to the HTTP spec
since the Date: header value contains comma (ie. " , ").
Third Bug: our client is making a HTTP request in HTTP 1.0, but both the
plug in and WLS is responding with
HTTP 1.1 ?
Any else one running into these issues?
Thanks;
I am finding the same issue with weblogic 6.1 sp3 with the iis 5 or 4. Does anyone know what the resolution to this is?
Your help is much appreciated.

Setting HTTP headers from Xcelsius
Hello,
Does anyone know whether it is possible to set HTTP headers during Xcelsius web service or XML data calls?
Regards,
GilbertHello Victor,
Both the XML data and the web service calls i am doing end up at agents that act on the content of the HTTP headers. For instance, the SOAP node that is listening to my web service calls uses the soapAction HTTP header for further routing of the call. That header is specified in the WSDL, but i need to be able to change it without changing the WSDL i.e. i would have to set the soapAction header. My end app can listen to the SOAP headers but the intermediary only HTTP headers.
Regards,
Gilbert -
Is there any way to stop the delay between different sets of speakers when using airport express?
Unfortunately, I don't have either a Slingbox or iHome speakers so I won't be able to reproduce any of the issues you are having. With the fact that you live in large apartment complex would still lead me to believe that Wi-Fi interference may be the reason that you are having streaming issues.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible. -

Server: JBoss EAP 6.2.0
Client: JDK 1.7.0_51 x64
JAX-WS: RI 2.2.8 ( via -Djava.endorsed.dirs )
I am getting a java.lang.NullPointerException when calling the operation on the WS endpoint from the client when using non-anonymous replyTo address.
I have simplified the scenario into a small test case that hopefully others can replicate. Since the exception is happening on the client instead of the server, I would think that the container used is irrelevant, but I have specified it nonetheless.

System.out.println("Asynch response received");
System.out.println( random );
//System.out.println("This response relates to the message ID: "+ getMessageID());
In summary:
Server is listening on port 8080
Client will listen in port 8082 for the callback from the server for the SOAP response
Now when I run the client, I see that the proper behaviour as far as ws-addressing is concerned. That is:
client -- SOAP request ( on port 8080 ) --> server
client <-- HTTP 202 ( empty HTTP body ) --- server
client <-- SOAP response ( on port 8082 ) --- server
All well and good, except that I am getting a NullPointerException on the client side when I call the operation.
With debugging of the SOAP request and responses, I get the following output:

Any ideas ?I think I have found when I get this error and probably I have found a bug. I will appreciate if someone can confirm this.
In my BPEL project setup, my BPEL process's wsdl file imports another wsdl from different namespace. Here is sample snippet -
<wsdl:definitions targetNamespace="http://namespace/1">
<wsdl:import namespace="http://namespace/2" location="resources/another.wsdl"/>
<plnk:partnerLinkType....../>
</wsdl:definitions>
Please let me know. I checked the bundled samples with Oracle BPEL PM and did not find any similar case where process wsdl imports another wsdl.
Thank you.

Setting http proxy while using utl_dbws?
How do I set the proxy while using the utl_dbws package to access Web services inside PL/SQL?
Here is an article about using utl_dbws to invoke Web services.

If the database is behind a firewall, how to set the http proxy?
Thanks!Are u sure that utl_dbws.set_http_proxy(...) works?
I got error like " PLS-00302: component 'SET_HTTP_PROXY' must be declared. "
When I browse through the UTL_DBWS package in the database, I could not find the function set_http_proxy() either.

Hi,
How do I set/add the HTTP headers in the webservice soap client(Call object)?
Any pointers/code samples will be of good help.

KumzaHi,
I have the same problem and I have tried your solution but the problem persists.
The point is that, in my case, getMessage() returns NULL so I cannot set the header.
Any idea or suggestion?
Thank you very much in advance.

How do I set DNS order when using a VPN?
Hi, to increase my data security when using local hotspots and WI-FI, I've set up a PPTP server on my home network and connect to it using my MBP OSX 10.5.4. So far, everything's fine.
But I found that the VPN connection will still try to resolve host names using the DNS of the underlying WLAN/UMTS connection. Which is bad for two reasons:
First, my local network at home *doesn't permit DNS* access other than the internal DNS. So, all connection attempts time out three times, keeping me waiting in the meantime until it proceeds to connect to my internal DNS.
Second, internal hosts are *not visible* when using external DNS. Obviously... so just adjusting the firewall and allowing external DNS isn't even a solution.
I've tried all kinds of settings, set my VPN as the default connection, manually added DNS settings to it or read about the inner workings of the resolv library of OSX. After a very easy initial setup, I'm stuck due to a tiny detail that keeps me from using the VPN. Is there anything I can do to actually use VPN in a proper way?

Christian

Setting http headers in weblogic
Hi,
We would like to know how http response headers can be set in weblogic server
8.1.
This information is urgenty needed.
Quick response will be appreciated.Thanks for the pointer. Didn't realize you had to construct the notification from scratch in order to add custom headers.
The only thing missing is how to set the HTTP verb that notification hubs sends down to the client. This is needed for
X-WNS-Match as this header needs to be sent with an HTTP delete per the MSDN docs.
For those interested here's a code snippet to send silent toasts to the phone. For universal phone apps you will be using WNS rather than MPNS.
private static async Task SendNotificationAsync()
var hub = NotificationHubClient.CreateClientFromConnectionString("<connection string with full access>", "<hub name>");
var toast = @"<toast><visual><binding template=""ToastText01""><text id=""1"">Hello from a .NET App!</text></binding></visual></toast>";
var headers = new Dictionary<string, string> { { "X-WNS-SuppressPopup", "true" } };
var notification = new WindowsNotification(toast, headers);
await hub.SendNotificationAsync(notification); -
Wiki Editor fails with HTTP 501 when using certain tags
Hi together,
does anybody know where I can find a list of syntax elements which are not allowed in the SDN's Wiki editor (and also the Forum editor)? This is, what I found out:
<s c r i p t>
t y p e (as an attribute)
o n l o a d (as an attribute)
Apparently, those are prohibited to prevent XSS - if you try to save a Wiki page including a code snippet with the mentioned syntax elements, the session is ended with HTTP 501 ( Method not implemented'.
Thanks,
Felix
Edited by: Felix Hoefer on Jun 29, 2011 1:50 PMThanks for your reply. I did read the article and addressed that issue in the first part of my previous post. I don't think that the website where I am hosting my CRL has directory browsing permissions or that I have the ability to set them but the
point of my question was everything works using that same public website when I use a standard CA to create my certificate but does NOT work when I create the certificate using an Enterprise CA.

Need to Set Current Row when Using Built-in Data Control Delete Operation?
I have an af:table bound to a ViewObject (VO) collection (no Entity Object) - within each row, I include a column that contains a 'Remove' command button so the user can remove the row. I add the command button by dragging/dropping the built-in delete operation from the VO on the Data Control Palette. When I use this as is (no changes), the Remove button always deletes the first row in the collection, not the selected row. Do I need to add code to set the current row, and if so can someone please provide an example and specify where I need to add? thanks.

selectionState="#{bindings.ListView1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
selectionListener="#{bindings.ListView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}">

javaXI just want to delete (or remove) it from the VO. Data for this VO is not on the database.
The function is doing what I want it to do (delete from the VO), its just always deleting the first row, versus the selected row. I select the command button next on a column next to an item further down in the list and it deletes the first row. The problem is setting the selected row to be removed - I thought setting the current row would be taken care of by the SelectListener?

Is it possible to reduce the number of HTTP calls when using a ReportViewer control?
My application is written in .Net 4 using Visual Studio 2010 (version 10 of the ReportViewer control). The report in question contains a lot of data in the dropdowns used for parameter selection. For example, one dropdown contains 95k options and another
uses 24k options (I know this is bad design, but we need to keep it as-is for this release). When I use Fiddler to profile the report, I see that it makes a lot of HTTP calls and a majority return the same dataset. There are three phases of loading data. Each
one initiates a series of HTTP calls.
Loading the initial header with the filter controls (dropdowns, textboxes, etc).
Changing one of the dropdowns that has a dependent dropdown (start date/end date)
Loading the final report after clicking the View Report button
In total, 13 HTTP calls are made and 10 of those are returning the same 10MB of data. The final report only returns 13 records, but the whole process of loading the report filters, changing report filters and loading the report require 130MB of data to be
exchanged. This is an extreme example, but we do have other reports that are doing the same with smaller amounts of data.
My question: is there any way to modify the ReportViewer or the SSRS server to reduce the number of calls? Is this related to ViewState? Please understand that I am new to Reporting Services and have a lot to learn.Hi rodeofive,
As per my understanding, the issue is a performance issue. And it is caused by there are thousands of values in the drop-down list of parameters in the report.
To work around this issue, I suggest you should make some changes in the report. For example, we can add additional two parameters with multiple keywords ahead, one for the dropdown contains 95k options, another for dropdown contains 24k options. Then all
of available values which are begin with the keywords will display in the parameter list. In this scenario, we can create cascading parameters. One is a keyword parameter, and the other parameter is the drop-down list that based on the keyword to display the
available values.
For more details about the method, please refer to the following FAQ:

Hope this helps.
