Setting JDBC driver properties for DB

Hi Experts,
we have proxy to JDBC synchronous scenario, currently the messages are sitting in delivering status for long time.
SAP Note 1078420 - based on this note i need to configure the following parameters
driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000
driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000
sqlquerytimeout
these parameters for Oracle, i am connecting to MSSQL2005 so can anyone please tell me what are the parameters for MSSQL2005 ????
Kind Regards,
kwangmo ku

Hello Flok,
Check the queues using transactions SMQ1 (outbound)/SMQ2 (inbound). Resolve the displayed errors. You can cancel the messages from SXMB_MONI. Execute LUW if necessary and avoid deleting entries manually.

  • Is it possible to set JDBC  Driver CharacterSet

    HI,
    I'm trying to learn how the data conversion is being handled in oracle (ii.e, I wanted to check the behaviour by keeping orai18n.jar & removing it). My database character set is WE8ISO8859P1, and I would like to change different client side character sets & do some R&D related to my application.
    So I want to know ....
    ->if we can set JDBC Driver Character set in any way.
    ->Is setting client character set is what is setting driver character set??
    We are using Oracle 10g and getting connections using Datsource. When I try to get the driver character set using oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.getJdbcCsId(), it returns 31 (which is WE8ISO8859P1).But I didn't find any setter..or similar method.
    I'm new to this Globalization thing.... so sorry if I'm asking dumb questions.... Could any one help me in this regard?? .
    Thanks,

    JDBC is not designed to support the notion of a driver character set. Any text data should be retrieved using ResultSet.getString() method and passed to the database using PreparedStatement.setString() method - except for CLOBs, which also accept Unicode character streams. These methods expect string data in Java Unicode encoding (UTF-16). If you need to output this data from an application is some other encoding, you should use standard Java conversion mechanisms - e.g. String.getBytes(charset) or new PrintWriter(file,charset).
    The driver character set is an internal setting relevant for intermediate character set conversions between the driver and the database. It is determined automatically by the driver based on the database character set. The method oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.getJdbcCsId() is undocumented and should not be used.

    I would like to use color display on numbers or icons in seperate column if the value in certain range  or a value is below or avove business needs.
    Thanks.

    Kevin,
    I could not get this to work on my installation; perhaps you can review and "run with it" or someone better with CSS can assist.
    The gist of it is there is a class .sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlert1Background to define the status symbol for the alerts
    Based on your Exceptions in the BEx query, Good 1 is .sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlert1Background
    Good 2 is .sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlert3Background
    etc... Bad 3 (red symbol) is .sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlert9Background
    I tried the following custom CSS on the crosstab, note using IE (which now we can no longer use until Microsoft patches)
    myAlerting.sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlternating{
    background-color:#F9F9F9 !important;
    myAlerting.sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault{

    color:rgba(0,0,0,0.0);
    background-image:url('green.png');
    background-repeat:no-repeat !important;
    background-position:center top !important;
    myAlerting.sapzencrosstab-DataCellDefault.sapzencrosstab-DataCellAlert9StatusSymbol

  • JDBC driver patch for JDBC driver 8.1.7 on NT to connect 9i db

    The patch number 1725012 related to JDBC driver patch for 8.1.7
    for use with JDK 1.2.x/1.1.x to connect to a oracle 9i database
    now shows patch support for six items but the NT operating
    system is missing in the list. Do we need to wait for the NT
    support patch release..? or any other work around to address
    this bug in the mean time for testing in NT OS.
    The JDBC error thrown is
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ttcgcshnd-1],[0]...

    You must include "classes12.zip" instead of "classes111.zip".
    Since "classes111.zip" is required only for Java 1
    and "classes12.zip" is required for Java 2 which means from J2SE 1.2 on forward.
    In adition you might need to inlcude "nls_charset12.zip" as well. Try it first without and if it is not working include it as well.
    The required files can you get from the OTN.
    This should help

  • Requirements for JDBC Driver needed for SOA 8 }connection pool

    Hi,
    I have an AS400 jdbc driver. This driver is JDBC API version 2.x. Also is a Driver Type 4.
    What are the requirements of a JDBC Driver needed for connection pool in SOA 8?
    Thanks.
    Lorenzo Jimenez

    You can use pretty much any jdbc driver, including type 2 and type 4.
    You need to make sure your shared libraries needed by the driver are available to the appserver when you boot.
    Other than that, it is no different than configuring any other driver.

  • Need JDBC driver string for MYSQL DB Resin server

    Please any body provide me the jdbc driver for MYSQL
    database for Resin server
    Thanks

    The driver and URL string are independent of server you deploy them on.
    Put that JDBC JAR in your Web app's WEB-INF/lib directory and it'll be in the CLASSPATH.
    Set up the pooled data source as appropriate for your server. That's the server-dependent part.

  • Oracle JDBC driver problem for Canada locale

    Hi, there:
    I have problem on Oracle JDBC thin driver with Canada locale on client side:
    I'm using Oracle9i thin jdbc driver, the nls parameters in oracle database is:
    NLS_LANGUAGE: AMERICAN
    NLS_TERRITORY: AMERICA
    NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS : .,
    My java client side is running on Windows NT, which using jdbc thin driver to connect oracle database. If I set the locale in client side as "English(Canada)", it seems return me "French" number format, like ",45" (comma, instead of decimal point) for "0.45". However, If I set client side locale as "English(United States)", it returns me "0.45" as expected.
    So, my question: does Oracle JDBC driver always returns "French" number format evenif I set "English(Canada)" as locale? Because Canada have both English and French locale "French(Canada), and English(Canada)". How can I get "English" number format like "0.45" with "English(Canada)" locale setting?
    Really appreciated any reply, and thanks a lot in advance
    David

    Sounds like a question for Oracle Support to me.
    Anyway, the way to avoid the problem is to not ask Oracle to format numbers. Get the number directly (via ResultSet.getInt() or getDouble() or whatever) and ask Java to format it.

  • MSSQL JDBC driver missing for installation of NW '04 SR1

    Hi all,
    during the installation of NW '04 SR1/EP6 on a system running MSSQL Server 2000 SP4 SAPinst crashes with the following error:
    ERROR 2007-03-06 22:33:34
    MDB-05800  <html>Cannot find jdbc driver for MS SQL Server</html>
    I searched this forum, the notes and asked Dr. Google but to no avail. Can anybody give me a hint what's the problem, please?
    Best regards,
    Bernd

    Thanks a lot for your help Dan! Your suggestion has shown me the right direction. As I wrote the directory you mentioned was indeed missing. I copied it from another installation and it worked.
    At least it seemed to work, but I've got another problem concerning the database connection during the installation. While performing the step "Load Java Database content" SAPinst crashes again with the following output:
    com.sap.inst.jload.Jload main
    SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB
    com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Could not load class com.ddtek.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.
    The strange thing is that I found two different SQL driver on the machine with the working installation! One was located in the installation media directory, the files WebAS is working with are obviously another version, because they have significantly different files sizes!
    Does someone have a hint which versions of SQL Server and driver files do work together?

  • Setting Default GUI Properties for Opened Files?

    OK, so you can set up a template for AIs you create yourself, to include things like Layer Panel thumbnail size etc, but can this be done for opened files?
    I work on a very large screen and always want to increase the layers panel thumbnail size, but it's a few clicks to do it, and I'd like to be able to set this value for all opened files, if this is possible. The default thumb. size is way to small and always needs bumped up.
    Are these values stored in the AI (since templates are simply AI files) or can a default value be set? if so, how can I do this?
    Thanks
    Richard

    You cannot change this for all opened files, as this is a per document setting unfortunately.
    To make a new document profile as per Monika open one fo the profiles here:
    Users/ Username/ Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS4/en_US/New Document Profiles
    Change your thumbnail size to larger, then save over that profile
    When you make a new document choose that profile.

  • JDBC Driver Problems for Oracle 10

    Trying to setup an OCI driver in our system but keep getting this response.
    INFO 2005-12-02 08:49:40,868 [STDOUT] java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\_EP\coldfusion\cfusion\lib\ocijdbc10.dll: The specified procedure could not be found
    INFO 2005-12-02 09:02:35,008 [STDOUT] A non-SQL error occurred while requesting a connection from DEVX2
    INFO 2005-12-02 09:02:35,008 [STDOUT] Timed out trying to establish connection
    That file exists on that path, so I'm not sure if this message means that it can't find that dll, or a procedure within that dll.
    If I set it up to use the thin client... no problems. This is very strange. ojdbc14.jar is on the classpath as well as all the DLLs needed, and I have the client installed on my machine.
    What else could I possibly need?

    Prior to 10g, Oracle claimed to require the entire Oracle client installation for the OCI driver to work; allegedly you couldn't just pick up the dlls you needed...
    With 10g, they've supplied a stripped down "Instant Client" that has just the bare bones stuff (it's still 10MB, zipped):
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/oci/instantclient/htdocs/winsoft.html
    They still recommend that you install the client and add an entry to your classpath and path variables rather than trying to pick and choose what you need. I believe the 10g OCI driver is still dependent on an Oracle Net installation (which would be part of the Instant Client install, if required).
    BTW, last I knew (last year), Macromedia was discouraging the use of the OCI driver with Cold Fusion.
    Personally, I'm not aware of any significant benefits the OCI driver would provide a Cold Fusion installation. The only good reasons I've ever heard of for using the OCI driver are: to connect via IPC instead of TCP/IP (requires the database be running on the same server as the Java program), to use TAF, to use the OCI connection pooling for connection multiplexing, to take advantage of some slight performance gains with stored procedure calls. While not an expert in this area, I think only the first could possibly apply to use with Cold Fusion. The myth that OCI is substantially faster for standard SQL (non stored procedures) has been repeatedly debunked.

  • JDBC Driver Class for DB2 databases on OS/390

    Hi,
    To anybody who can help.
    I am trying to connect to DB2 database on OS/390 from my PC - Windows 2000. I have loaded IBM DB2 Application Development Client V7.2 as well as IBM DB2 Administration Client V7.2 I guess this is called using Db2 Connect. I have done proper configuration of host databases.
    Anyway, I write this small simple class to connect to Db2 database and I keep getting this error.

    Any help on this will let me move further in my project. ThankYou.

    Nice trap from IBM: package name starts with COM not
    com!
    Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver");---Sure I tried that. Sorry. That doesn't work.
    I tried with Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver");
    That doesn't work either.
    Is my connection URL OK? I made several kinds of format changes to the URL
    "jdbc:db2://db2test.state.sc.us:50000/DB2DB02";
    "jdbc:db2:db2test.state.sc.us:50000:DB2DB02";
    etc....For now I am sticking with the first version.
    Any more suggestions please. Did you take a look at my classpath. Is that OK? Should I rename db2java.zip to .jar and are there any other dir's where it should be contained?????
    ThankYou all.
