Setting portlet admin preferences without opening its administration page

In ALUI 6.5 , I would like to have a link inside a portlet, clciking which opens a pop-up window. Providing data and clicking save in the popup should save the data in portlet admin preferences and close the popup. Is there any way to achieve this?
We are able to set admin preferences for a portlet only from the Portlet Administration page which opens up on clicking the pencil icon in the title bar of the portlet. Clicking Edit button in the portlet administration page opens up the popup where data can be entered and saved in the admin preferences. We are looking for a way to be able to set the admin preferences without actually having to go to the portlet administration page.

Just to clarify, you want to click a link in the portlet to open the admin pref's instead of clicking the pencil?
To do that: grab the link URL from your web service: Advanced URL Settings: Remote Configuration Settings: Administration Configuration URL and then put it into your portlet.
If you want to have the admin preference code within the portlet I'm pretty sure you can just open up the the code that the admin configuration URL is pointing to and copy it into your portlet code and that should do the trick also.

I also find that Smart zoom only works with some apps, for instance not with Word docs or email.
How can I correct this please?

Firefox cannot open Linksys administration page

You can do that by using an add-on such as:

Another way of opening the home page in a new tab is to middle click on the home button in the navigation toolbar.

What code to navigate from page without opening a new page?

Hello, I have a flash button embedded into a css/HTML page that I want to use to navigate into a new page without opening a new window. Here's the code I'm using in the SWF which I got from the adobe tv tutorial:

The flash button is the "about Ian" button on the upper left. I want the navigation to be like the traditional rollovers on the page. (I'm working my way up to having the embedded flash button fade into place, that's why I'm using flash.)

If you look up the navigate ToURL function in the help documents it lists all of the window options available. For your case you can use:
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://ianmartinphotography.com/about.html"), "_self");

I followed about:config to set the new tab to open my home page, but it is not working

i am using windows 8 and firefox version 20.0.1...
i tried to set the new tab page to open to my home page ... i followed the about:config, browser.newtab.url and set it to my home page ... but it is not working at all ... it still not open to my home page ... i saw it was changed to my homepage in the setting but it is just not working at all...
i quit firefox and open firefox again and the setting in browser.newtab.url back to the default ... the firefox did not save the setting in browser.newtab.url to my home page...
it works in mac but not windows...
IT IS NOT WORKING IN WINDOWS 8 ... WHY ... any help?...

What page is opening? The default 9-thumbnail page? Some other page?
Extensions can override your selections for new tab, home page, and search provider. Try reviewing and disabling nonessential, recently installed, or unrecognized extensions here:

I have a LOV (p2_dept) in form with some values. Depending on the value selected on lov, another control (textbox p3_dept_loc) should be made visible.

Use Dynamic Action.
based on the changes in LOV field (I am assuming thats a Select List), you will be able to set visible any other item or region.

Setting AAM and IIS binding opens IIS default page

Hi,
I'm trying to create an AAM for my existing web application
http://ABC.domain.net. I add the URL in the Intranet zone
http://XYZ.domain.net then added IIS binding on each of the WFE servers. I also have the entry in the DNS for this new URL.
When I try to get to the new site http://XYZ.domain.net it leads to IIS default page as shown below:
What else I need to setup to get to the actual site? I thought these are the only steps needed. Thanks in advance.

Did you create a DNS entry and does it point to the correct IP? What happens if you stop the Default Web Site?

iTunes 11.0.4 for Windows keeps restarting and removing my set-up and preferences every time its shut down and re-opened, how can I stop this?
All of the music (etc) is still there but I need to agree to the terms and condition of the 'Software License Agreement for iTunes for Windows' every time I open iTunes.
Once opened there is no personal set-up, such as side menus and how the lists are set-up (e.g showing album images, music listed in ‘most played’ order,etc etc) I know how to re-do all of my settings, Its just getting very annoying now.
Anyone know how to stop this or at least why It is doing it?

I found why it defaults back to the wizard. I noticed in C:/users/(User)/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/iTunes/iTunesPerfs.xml file is deleted from this directory upon exiting iTunes. When I manully restore this file itunes starts with my correct settings. Why the .xml file being deleted I don't know. iTunes is deleting the file when you exit so I guess there is just a bug.

I need to do the same thing in application server 8.1 how can i do that?
What is the alternative procedure?

I read in the docs about "welcome-file-list" that is found in the default-web.xml file and it pointed that i can design my application's web.xml to include "welcome-file-list" to point to my customized index.html
If this is the case, then how can i point my browser to the server is it by the context root only?

My exchange administrator page is not opening

Hi guys,
I am new to exchange server. I have installed the exchange server 2013. And i have configured it. When i was trying to open my administrator page it asks for the credentials after that there's a blank page opens. I couldn't see any options.
But if i open that with another account i could see all the options. And that's not an administrator account.
I want to resolve this problem. And i wanna why this occurs.

To understand more about the issue, I’d like to ask the following questions:
1. Is administrator page EAC or OWA ?
2. Is the page which non-admin account login EAC or OWA?
3. Is there other Exchange server in your environment?
As far as I know, we need add the suffixes about Exchange server version in the URL in a coexistence scenario:
https://CAS15-NA/ecp?ExchClientVer=15

I need to stop a setting that prevents firefox from opening a new page while at a web site or browsing, and can't figure out which setting or add on is causing the problem.
