Setting prompt colour and weight

Hi guys,
Im having an issue I would very much appreciate your help with. I have the code below which I want to change the prompt font to bold and red on a post query trigger hence have coded the code below. However it doesnt seem to be setting the prompt to bold or red. Am I doing something stupid?
     set_item_property('block_name.item_name,prompt_foreground_color,'red');
     set_item_property('block_name.item_name,prompt_font_weight,'BOLD');
Thanks.

it isnt a multi-line layout...Then you should use the Set_Item_Property() built-in.
I tried the code below but got numeric or value error, no data found
set_item_instance_property('block.item_name,visual_attribute,'PROMPT') You got this error because you didn't include the record_number of the item to modify. Your code should have been:
set_item_instance_property('block.item_name,CURRENT_RECORD,visual_attribute,'PROMPT')But again, as you are not using a Tabular layout, you don't need to use the Set_Item_Instance_Property().
Taking a closer look at Visual Attribute (VA) objects, you cannot set the attributes of the Prompt using a VA. Sorry to mislead you on this. :8}
HamidHelal is right, to set a color you have to use the RGB values. However,
Prompt_Font_Weight doesn't work...is not accurate. To set the Font Weight you have to use one of the predefined weight variables. They are: FONT_MEDIUM, FONT_ULTRALIGHT, FONT_EXTRALIGHT, FONT_LIGHT, FONT_DEMILIGHT, FONT_DEMIBOLD, FONT_BOLD, FONT_EXTRABOLD, FONT_ULTRABOLD. Search the Forms help on Font Weight Property for more information.
Try this code:
-- Set Bold
set_item_property('block_name.item_name,prompt_font_weight,FONT_BOLD);
-- Set back to normal.
set_item_property('block_name.item_name,prompt_font_weight,FONT_NORMAL);Craig...

  • Setting up Colour and Black and White in one document

    I hope this is a stupid question. I am creating the school year book for the first time. It is 80 pages with a mixture of black and white pages and colour pages.
    Do I have to set Indesign up any special way so that when it goes to the printers it will know this.
    Can I have black and white masters and colour masters in the one document?
    Do I need to gray scale all my (black and white images) in Photoshop first?
    Do I need to do anything to the text to make it print in Black and white if I am using a black coloured font???
    Thank you for your help.............it is greatly appreciated

    >Do I have to set Indesign up any special way so that when it goes to the printers it will know this.
    Maybe. How is it going to be printed? Have you talked to the printer about it?
    >Can I have black and white masters and colour masters in the one document?
    In a sense, yes. ALL pages in ID are color pages, but you can certainly set up masters where the only color used is Black.
    >Do I need to gray scale all my (black and white images) in Photoshop first?
    InDesign CS6 introduced export to grayscale PDFs, but that turns everything in the PDF to grayscale so you would need to export your color pages separately from the grayscale pages, then recombine in Acrobat pro, or send to the printer in separate files. You also need to set your Appearance of Black settings (in the prefs) to Output All Blacks as Rich Blacks if you are going to export to grayscale or your black type will be screened to a dark gray. Personally, I'd do the conversions in Photoshop so you can see and control what is going to happen and avoid the export hassles.
    Grayscale content is output in the K channel of the InDesign file, and your screen preview may not be accurate unless you use overprint preview.
    >Do I need to do anything to the text to make it print in Black and white if I am using a black coloured font?
    Your text will print in whatever color is you choose for it. If you use the default [Black] swatch, it will output using only black ink.

  • Colour and transparent boolean

    Hello everyone,
     I want to set the boolean indicator to colour and transparant. This mean when error occurs, boolean indicator will be changed to red and transparent, so this boolean will not cover the below floor map. I set all boolean onto the actual floor map and i don't want to cover floor map. I can set only transpaent at no error state but i cann't set red colour and transparent at error state.. Is there any way to set. Thanks for all in advances..

    Here's a very rough draft of the idea above (LabVIEW 8.5). Of course you should import custom graphics into the boolean indicators for the desired look.

  • Goods Receipt PO+VOlume and Weight Calculation

    Hello experts
    i have a GRPO with 10 items in lines. as far as i can see, there are missing in some of the the value for the Weight and the Volume. while checking the Item Master Data form, the volume and the weight are filled up with specific value.
    could you please inform me the reason this document(GRPO)  has not filled these values for specific items?
    also, by clicking the Vlolume and Weight calculation, for these items the the volume is filled and the weight is not.
    it is strange i suppose.
    what i have found out is that in a Purchase Order, some of the items do not have a Volume or/and Weight because the BP does not have the values noticed to us and these fields are editing in item master data afterwards
    By using the System information under the VIew, i can see that the VOlume and Weight Calculation gets data from INV1 table
    Edited by: Fasolis Vasilios on Jan 10, 2012 10:56 AM

    Hi,
    The reason is simple: those value can not be copied if the Item Master was ready when you created the PO. However, PO wont automatically updated when you updated Item master. It stays in the old Item setting. That would be copied to GRPO from the old PO.
    Thanks,

  • MY PRINTER ONLY PRINTS IN COLOUR, AND I WANT TO ONLY PRINT IN BLACK AND WHITE

    HI, AND GREETINGS,
    IVE BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME BUT I CANNOT FIND A SOLUTION TO IT. IVE WANTED TO PRINT SOME DOCUMENTS BUT IN BLACK AND WHITE ONLY - INSTEAD OF COLOUR BUT I CANT SEEM TO FIND THE SETTING IN WHICH I CAN TURN OFF THE COLOUR, AND TO JUST USE BLACK INK
    MY PRINTER IS:
    HP COLOUR LASERJET PRO MFP M177FW
    AND I AM USING A MACBOOK PRO 2010 VERSION
    WOULD LOVE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM YOU GUYS TO HELP ME OUT,
    KINDEST REGARDS,
    W3 GUD

    Hi @W3GUD ,
    I see that you would like to set the printer to print with just the black toner. I would like to help you out with this issue today.
    Depending on which operating system you are using and what driver was installed for the printer, the Grayscale option should be under Paper/Quality.
    From the application, go to File, Print, click on the dropdown for the printer preferences and select Paper/Quality.
    Click on the Color Options dropdown and then select Grayscale.
    Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
    Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Laserjet M177fw)
    If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
    What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
    If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Setting the colour of the search box text on a public website

    I am using the search box snippet in the header of my public website.
    The background of the header is a dark blue.  The search box background is transparent so the default colour of the text (#444) on the dark blue background is barely visible.
    The text colour appears to be set by the following entry in corev15.css:
    input[type=password],
    input[type=text],
    input[type=file],
    select,
    textarea,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevel,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevelDisabled,
    .sp-peoplepicker-autoFillContainer,
    .ms-inputBox
    border:1px solid #B0B0B0;
    background-color:#fff;
    background-color:rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.85);
    color:#FFFFFF;
    I changed the colour from #444 to #FFFFFF.
    Now I want to create a new post in the Blog.  The new post's Title and Body fields use the same entry in corev15.css to set the colour of the text.  As the background of the new post is white the text is invisible!
    Using the F12 development function in IE, setting the colour of the Search box text with an inline function works, but when I add style="color:white" to the <input> of the Search box snippet it seems to be ignored.
    What am I doing wrong?  Is there another way around the problem (I don't want to change the background colour of the header nor the background of the post page and there is no colour that will display the text well enough against both backgrounds).
    Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Roger
    rogerwithnell

    Thanks for your help, Patrick.
    Adding color: white !important; inline in the <input tag of the Search box snippet is still ignored, however.  When I look at the HTML and CSS with F12 in IE, the inline mark-up is not set.  I guess this something to do with how the Search Box
    snippet works?
    I've made some progress, though.  All the pages of the site (except the Blog NewPost page) use the corev15.css file. So I've set the colour here to white.  The css entry is:
    input[type=password],
    input[type=text],
    input[type=file],
    select,
    textarea,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevel,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevelDisabled,
    .sp-peoplepicker-autoFillContainer,
    .ms-inputBox
    border:1px solid #B0B0B0;
    background-color:#fff;
    background-color:rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.85);
    color:#FFFFFF;
    The Blog NewPost page uses \_catalog\theme\themed\CDD8DBA6/COREV15-51C31438.themedcss. I've changed the same CSS entry as follows:
    input[type=password],
    input[type=text],
    input[type=file],
    select,
    textarea,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevel,
    .sp-peoplepicker-topLevelDisabled,
    .sp-peoplepicker-autoFillContainer,
    .ms-inputBox
    border:1px solid #B0B0B0;
    background-color:#fff;
    background-color:rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.85);
    color:#444 !important;
    Now this page sets the colour to #444.  This means that the text in the Title and Body fields is visible but the text in the Search Box (with its dark blue background) is not.
    The Search Box on Blog NewPost is not vital but I'd like to fix it.  How can I do this?

  • Images off colour and overexposed when printing

    Hi folks I'm new to the site. I have been using adobe software for a good few years at this point, and i have been trying to solve a problem with my friends Photoshop and illustrator. every time she prints out work, its all off colour and over exposed like the colour preferences are messed up.
    When printing a word doc or regular jpg images there is no problem. It only happens when trying to print in Photoshop or illustrator.
    I would really like some help
    Thanks
    Edit
    CS3 Extended
    Printer brother DCP-165C

    What are her color-management settings and practices?
    Is she set up to use appropriate color-profiles while designing/editing, using a calibrated/profiled monitor to display the designs or photos in accurate color, and using appropriate settings and profiles for print color-management?
    Do the prints come out to match what's displayed if the image is sent to a service - or you print them on your setup?
    Does what is displayed in Photoshop match what is displayed in the other apps being printed from?
    Has it once worked, and now it doesn't - or is this a new setup?
    This is a case where the specifics matter - very much.  Color-management settings and practices cannot usually be "guessed" into working.  And to make matters worse for those struggling to understand, there is the possibility that there are bugs in printer drivers, bad monitor profiles, etc.
    Unfortunately, it's near impossible to teach proper color-management concepts, so that the user can make all the appropriate choices, on a forum.

  • Can I use a colour palette control to set the colour of an LED on front panel?

    Hi,
    I want to allow the user of my LabView program to be able to set the colour of an enlarged LED on the front panel using a colour palette control also on the front panel. Is this possible or can the LED only be the colour it is set to in its properties dialogue box?
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    The question is of course: "Does it really need to be a boolean LED that has a True/False and all the boolean logic???
    If you just want an LED lookalike where the color can be easily controlled programmatically I would recommend a color box indicator instead. You can even customized it to look like an LED! The attached example (LabVIEW 7.1) shows both methods, but the color box option is programmatically much less messy (no bundling, no array building, no property nodes!).
    (To make the LED color box indicator, I customized a plain color box and simply imported the graphic elements from the regular LED indicator.)

  • Set prompt in .cshrc causing startup timeout in 4.3

    In our generic login for csh users, we set the prompt with:
    if ($?prompt) then
    if ($?tcsh) then
    set prompt='%m(%n)\!: '
    else
    set prompt='`uname -n`(`whoami`)\!: '
    endif
    endif
    This works with a console login, an ssh, etc. for Solaris and RHEL systems. If we login to tarantella, we are able to login, but when an X application is started, the connection gui opens and the application will probably timeout. This happens with konsole, with full desktop, etc. If I comment out the section setting the prompt, there are no problems. Has anyone seen this? It seems very strange because the /etc/csh.cshrc sets the prompt without this happening.

    The expect script was looking for typical prompt characters like '$', '%', or '#' followed by one or more spaces. Since you modified your prompt to ':' followed by a space, SGD was having trouble looking for the prompt character.
    So, to answer your question, if you changed the ':' to any one of the typical prompt characters, then it should be ok.

  • Why are the web pages of SharePoint 2013 so devoid of colour and distinct boundaries and leave screen space unutilized

    Hi All,
    This was a comment from my business users who have worked with various versions of SharePoint. I understand SP 2013 has put in logic to make the web pages to be compatible with a wider set of browsers and screen form factors. Nevertheless, the issues raised
    by my business users are valid.
    Comparing a basic web part page of SP 2013 with SP 2007 and 2010, their feedback was:
    SP 2013 pages do not have clear boundaries
    SP 2013 pages are generally devoid of colour. This is makes it harder to visually distinguish links from ordinary text.
    SP 2013 pages appear to leave large swathes of screen space underutilized.

    Hi,
    1. When insert a web part in SharePoint 2013, you can edit the web part and change the appearance and layout of the web part.
    You can add the boundaries for the web part. (Edit page->select a web part ->edit the web part->in the appearance section->in Chrome Type, select title and border->after that you can see the boundaries).
    2. The color of the links depends on the theme you have selected in SharePoint 2013. Different themes set the different colors of the links. You also can customize the theme or composed look in SharePoint 2013.
    The article below is about how to create a SharePoint composed look.

    3. In SharePoint 2013, the space between different zones is set by default.
     The picture below is my page in SharePoint 2013.
    If there is much space between zones, to check:
    1. If input much space in web part in the SharePoint 2013.
    2. If input space in the web pert zone in SharePoint 2013.
    3. If the width has been changed in the below code in the page which you change the text layout.

  • Correcting colour and contrast in scanned slides

    I am investigating how to scan slides as accurately as possible, with the qualification that sometimes I may accept less than 100% accuracy for a better-looking image. I am in the midst of comparing several scanning methods, and at this stage one particular method stands above all the rest.
    My original idea (before I started testing) was that I would not ask the scanner to do much processing of the raw image, that I would edit in Photoshop. The reasoning was: there's no better image-editing program than PS, and if PS (or its plugins) can't improve the image no other software could.
    Well, it looks like I was wrong. I have tried to edit several raw scans, and using PS I can't get results that are as good as asking the scanner to edit the slides.
    I have uploaded two sample scans to: http://www.mediafire.com/?z1w4ekew39dwa
    Each scan has two versions: a "natural" scan out of the scanner (no corrections), and a corrected scan (suffix GB) using various scanner settings.
    What intrigues me is that the scanner is able to automatically correct colour casts and improve contrast across a wide variety of slides. i.e. I have tested slides from the 1960s through to 2007 on various stock (Fuji, Anscochrome, Kodachrome, Ilfochrome). In almost all cases, and without changing the scan settings, images come up as good as the two uploaded images. The only setting I sometimes need to alter is what I call the "gamma", for slides that are underexposed or have a lot of dark regions where detail should be visible (and the reverse for overexposed slides).
    Maybe I am not using PS to its full potential, so I am hoping that someone can have a go at editing the "natural" scans to see how close they can get to the corrected scans from the scanner – and then explain how they did it.
    I am astounded at what the software inside this scanner can do with images. I thought PS was the be-all and end-all for images, but in my hands, PS comes in second and I'd like to know how to improve its performance.
    Thanks in advance for any input.
    Notes
    1. I purposely choose challenging slides for testing. They either have a large contrast range with visible detail in the highlights and shadows; or colour casts; or bright saturated colours.
    2. When testing, I compare all scanned images as seen on my computer screen with the original slide on a hand-held light box viewed through a loupe. For example, all colours in the image called Slide Scan 15 GB, even the metallic-looking sheen of the raincoats, appear as a close match to the original slide. The only significant colour variation is in the foreground rocks (which are a grey-brown colour in the slide), and the sky (which is a slightly darker blue in the slide). This slide is, maybe, 1/2 stop underexposed which explains the saturated colours and the dark "natural" scan.
    3. The scanner spends a significant amount of time applying corrections. An 18 MB image (2000 dpi) might take 30 seconds to scan, then another minute for the corrections to be applied.

    Welcome to the forums elinhjulstrom,
    I saw your post about the scan quality issue you are having with your Deskjet F2180 on Mavericks. I would like to share my ideas with you that might help.

    Repair disk permissions
    Re-add the printer (not the AirPrint driver)
    Try the scan again
