Setting urgent window hint from C ncurses program

Hi,
I am trying to edit tmsnc to give the urgent window hint when I receive a message. I am using dwm, and I noticed XChat highlights the tag when I get mentioned. The setting for this is 'blink taskbar'.
I' ve been looking through the XChat source, but it's 1.4 megabytes of code, I just can't seem to find it.
Does anyone here know how to replicate this behaviour from a c ncurses program?

I think ncurses programs need to emit a 'beep' (the '\a' character?) which, if your settings are correct, will cause your terminal application to get the urgent window hint.

When you call it as external window you may pass the title. other than that i am afraid you are left with no choice.

Configuring Windows Scheduler from Java Class

Without claimimng any hands-on experience with this, google for "windows scheduler command line".
You will see lots of information from Microsoft about command line utilities that manage the scheduler.
If those utilities are able to do what you need, calling them from Java is just a matter of using the
Runtime or, better, ProcessBuilder classes (Runtime.exec() or ProcessBuilder.start()).

Set Window Manager hints from Swing/AWT?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to set certain window manager hints, specifically to keep a window on the desktop (_NET_WM_STATE_BELOW) and out of the taskbar (_NET_WM_STATE_SKIP_TASKBAR). I've googled around but I haven't yet found anything useful. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry, I was referring to window manager hints ( http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/wm-spec-latest.html#id2551694 ). To rephrase, I would like to position a window on the desktop instead of allowing other windows under it (such as the "keep below others" option in many window manager), to make something like a desktop widget. I've already looked in to using ab5k, but it seems to be dead now.

Set Window & Panel Icons For Terminal Programs in Openbox

Perhaps I have not discovered the correct search terms to google this question & I may be just missing the obvious here. My Wife likes to have openbox with a tint2-vertical setup on her laptop. Is there a non-temporary way to set panel icons (and maybe window icons) for terminal based programs such as ranger, htop, ncmpcpp etc. After seaching I was able to set a icon I made for any terminal in the .xdefaults file. This does not allow the ability to distinguish between various terminal programs from the tint2 panel at a glance.
xterm*iconPixmap:/usr/share/pixmaps/xterm.xbm
xterm*iconMask: /usr/share/pixmaps/xterm-mask.xbm
i noticed in the /usr/share/pixmaps folder there are already xpm/png icons for htop and xterm, however It appears to set the xterm icon in .xdefaults it has to be a xbm file. xbm files are not as visually elegant as xpm imo and so far I was only able to set the same icon it for all open xterms.
so
1. can i set separate panel icons that appear in tint2's panel for different terminal based programs?
2. is it possible to use xpm or even png files for such icons?
I would appreciate any help or a link to a webpage.

Got exact same problem, was told to delete all old apple, quick time and bonjoir from computer then it would work. I use a programme called malware bytes and this takes everthing out of your computer right down to the roots but unfortunately I still have same problem

ideally, you should be able to do this on Windows 7 from
1. Start > Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a File Type or protocol with Program.
2. Then scroll and select .CPTX and click Change Program an click Browse.
3. Navigate to Adobe Captivate folder at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7\
4. Select "AdobeCaptivate.exe" and click open.
5. Now click Ok and check if you see AdobeCaptivate.exe under "Current Default" column on the Set Associations window.
In case it still does not works, can you please confirm at which of the above steps are you facing an issue.

Calling a request set from a concurrent program

Hi,
I am trying to call a request set( say RS1) from a concurrent program ( say CP1). I have used fnd_submit.set_request_set and related APIs, and I am able to submit the request set. But the problem is that I have to either hard code the request set parameters in the concurrent program CP1( which I am currently doing), or define the parameters in the concurrent program CP1 and pass the parameters while calling the request set requests. The second method does not work because the request set has around 30 requests, and it is not possible to accept the parameters for all those requests from CP1.
What I would like to do is to define a parameter in CP1 which accepts the request set name( or short name), and then pop-up a window which shows the sub-requests in the request set so that I can enter the parameters of each request within the request set. ( something similar to $FLEX$)
Have anyone done such a thing? Does anyone know if it is possible?
Any suggestions are welcome!

Sharing parameters will not work because my request set has many requests and none of them have any common parameters. I am looking for a solution which will show me all the programs in the request set with the default values so that I can change the parameter values if required.

Something is missing here
If you want to execute a shell script in windows that not posible unless you find or develop a unix shell script parser for windows.
But if you are trying the execute a unix shell script on a remote unix computer from your java program running on a windows platform you can do that by logging on to the UNIX terminal which is running on port 23 I think.
You can test this using telnet tool on windows
just type on command prompt
telnet <ip of the unix pc> <port number this case 23>
you should get the unix terminal. If that works you can do the same through java or you can directly conect to port 23 of that pc using sockets that way your program will be platform independant

I am trying to run my RCPTT tests on Travis with xvfb and metacity. When I run the tests I got this error : "Window manager warning: Window 0xa00003 (Eclipse) sets an MWM hint indicating it isn't resizable, but sets min size 504 x 334 and max size 2147483647 x 2147483647; this doesn't make much sense."
Travis provides xvfb and my script installs metacity like this :

Then xvfb and metacity are started as following :
- "/sbin/start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --pidfile /tmp/custom_xvfb_99.pid --make-pidfile --background --exec /usr/bin/Xvfb -- :99 -ac -screen 0 1440x900x16"
- sh -e /etc/init.d/xvfb start

Each tests start with a context which set the size of the eclipse window :
get-eclipse-window | get-object | invoke setSize 1440 900
I also tried using maximize instead of the setSize.
When I run my tests with an AUT based on Luna all is working normally, I got this error only with an AUT based on Mars.
Does someone has already encountered this issue?

Hi Zach,
I'm guessing you're correct that that particular bit of functionality
wasn't implemented for MySQL enablement yet (I've also asked someone
else to confirm). The MySQL support that was contributed hasn't been
updated in quite a while due to lack of resources or MySQL experts.
We'd love to have someone pick it up and contribute fixes back to the
project however! :)
