i have a problem with my nokia N8 that when i try to go to Settings>>connectivity>settings> its again reverts me back to the main menu.....kindly please help me how to slove this problm/

You should also be able to set all wigets to offline from options on homescreen ? And if you can get into connectivity settings, set phone to Offline , then edit all access points to always ask, then decline when you don't want an app to connect to the web !!

it works fine.
so proud to be one of the first to have it =)
But now then i want to set up my hotmail windows live email accont in the phone and try using exchange email it does not work.
I can get it to have a inbox.
But no email uccors
and when i try to send an email it will not go.
It stays in the outgoing email folder.
What shall i do?

I have tried writing the server name but it does not work.
There should have been a wizard of some sort that you could download from ovi as an app.
that would set the email accont up for you..

Connection selection for nokia n8 camera location ...

So I am trying to use the camera location feature but my phone keeps trying to connect to contract wap.. I am on a payg plan.. why can't I pull the location under these circumstances? Ovi maps works just fine trying to locate the position under payg connectivity...
Also, the OVI store sometimes does not connect under wifi or payg internet/wap connectivity...
This whole business of network selection is absurd. It is good to provide a system-wide and/or app-specific choice if you insist on creating this distinction...

No one is prevented from using AGPS, but the fact it uses a data connection means you have to pay your Service provider for the data NOT Nokia. Having a smartphone without some sort of data plan or allowance is really restricting it's functionality and it's a really good idea to get some data allowance to get the full benefit of the phone, if not it would be far cheaper to get a cheap feature phone, a tom tom and a mid range digital camera !! I am constantly amazed that people are buying very expensive handsets and then worrying about data charges

I am also having this problem with my mp3 player. When I plug it in by USB to my mac, the icon does not appear on the desktop and I can't find it at all in system preferences. I have tried it on a couple of different imacs and the icon pops up immediately. So I am thinking it is a problem with my computer....does anybody have any advice??

Hi,
You can use Wi-Fi connection whenever it is available rather than cellular data. You may want to set it as your first priority connection so it won't be automatically connected to cellular data.
To do this, go to Settings > Connectivity > Settings > Network destinations > Access point > select and hold an access point > select change priority > tap the position in the list to move the access point to.
You have also an option to turn off the mobile data. You can do that by going to Settings > Connectivity > Settings > Mobile data > Off.

I currently live in kenya and have a nokia 3250 which i activated for gprs from one of the local service provider. I tried to enter the email settings to be sending and receiving emails from my gmail account. I was then only able to send but could not check my mail. After trying to connect to my mailbox a message appeared on the screen for me to confirm my user name and password (even though i had entered the correct ones ). I tried to get a yahoo account but still experience the same problem. Will you please help me get the right settings. Or is there a problem with my accounts

In my effort to get access in 'YouTube" steaming videos, I tried to find the scope available in Nokia 3110C handset. After going through the Menu icons, I identified one Menu Item in the path : MAIN MANU>MEDIA>MEDIA PLAYER>GO TO ADDRESS. It is...rtsp://. The help message states ...'Lets you manually enter Web Address...'. I entered : ' rtsp//m.youtube.com. The response was a Note which reads - Check Connection Settings... Again I followed the above path : MAIN MANU>MEDIA>MEDIA PLAYER>STREAM SETT. I click the Stream Settings. The nesponsing note : 'No Settings found. Contact your Service Provider'. So, from the above discussion the net learning I got is I must have the Stream Settings to get YouTube going in my Set. My querry is : Whare those settings and what is the source in getting those settings ? I understood the rtsp (Real Time Stream Protocol) is more versatile than HTTP and MMS in getting Streaming data (numerical, photograph/radio). Please suggest.

I experienced same problem with my 3110c handset. At first the STREAMING SETT was shadowed dark with a restriction to get access there. Later I got contact with BSNL (my SP). After downloading the settings I discovered that the shadowy patch over Streaming Sett. has gone. It now shows an entry ..."bsnlstream."
So far an attempt was made to activate the Youtube, a message reminds me that the software of 3110C is not supporting such application.

Hi Sanjeev,
We upload Medata in IDX2 to just reduce runtime effort and hence to improve the performance. However it is not a mandetory step to be performed for R/3 TO XI scenario.
You are confused just because here you dont find any F4 help to select the metadata and the PORT.

The problem is I cannot turn on wireless setting. The "sign in to icloud -- enter appleid password" popup will not go away. when i enter the pw and click ok, the same balloon pops up again. If I click "cancel" it pops again. Since I am not on the internet (because I cannot turn the ipad wireless on) the sign in to icloud obviously will not work. Vicious circle.

It is not about payment of $19.95 (Igalsses) or $7.99(webcam settings). This is a very basic setting that should be available in the system settings. The automatic setting of the internal cam does not work great on low lighting as everyone is aware.
i am just amazed how users take in lying down and suggest solutions such as paying for a 3rd party paid app or improving the lighting in your room.

Thanks very much, I never tried just asking for the parameter I was looking at the entire list coming back from a query with no filters. Using the DBMS_LDAP package you can in fact get their GUID.
I understand your concern for the use of the field and for other reasons have moved to a different identifier to tie OID accounts to our internal application user accounts.

I am doing a Ken Burns effect slideshow in FCP6 that is using JPEGS only.
I have the 24" intel imac 2.4 gig with 4 gigs of Ram installed.
I am wondering what my ram settings in FCP should be.
there are 4 boxes you can fiddle with the numbers.
first two have sliders and go from 0 to 100%
"memory usage"
and also still cache...
what should I be setting these to?

I have found that I cannot resize and get a clean movement here in FCP.
I tried the cutting approach jim and that at least got me through the placement of the pics to the song and then I started the motions. I also checked and then unchecked the shadow once I had it set where I wanted. I like to work through each pic from start to finish so i know exactly where I am at each night when I go to bed and then where I start again the next evening after my day job!

but yes unchecking the shadows and feathered edges definately bought me some more time before render.
I appreciate all the helpful advise here. You guys pour so much knowledge out there for us and mostly without even much thanks to you in return.

Why would Ovi want my password to accept terms and conditions. Should it not be something like this: click the link, then 'thank you for accepting terms and conditions...'
