Setup group category & setup group Key.

Dear Friends,
I am facing some problem in setup group category... Please check this scenario and let me know...if anybody is having any idea about this...
My scenario is: I am having a single work center... on which I can do some machining activity.This WC is used in 100 material routings. but all my 100 materials are grouped into 5 categories. based on the dia... for example 100-120 dia one group 121-140 dia another group like that. If my two successive materials are belong to same group..then.. I donot have any setup time. if my two success materials scheduled on that machine are not belong to same group...then I am having 5 hrs of setup time.
so here setup time I can not mention in the routing...
this can be achieved by setup group and setup group key...and through capacity leveling... we can insert this setup time as per the matrix... in the matrix we need to define the setup times between two different groups..
And here the setup time is almost equal to machining time of one material. max.. they can do 3 materials machining only.. if there is no setup in a day of 16 hrs working. So manageement wants to minimize setup time... so grouping of the materials should be based on the Dia... this is the requirement.

Actually I maintained all the setup group categories, setup group keys in the routing and I maintained setup matrix also...
But during the finite scheduling through Capacity leveling I am not able to consider the setup time in the production order.... This is the problem I am facing... If anybody is having any idea...please share with me..

Hi Suryanarayana,
I see that you have defined setup type and setup group keys and also setup matrix.
Please check the following under SPRO -> CRP -> Capacity leveling and extended evaluation -> Strategy -> Define strategy profile. There is a standard strategy profile to optimize setup times, which is SAPSFCT005 (Fin.sched.for./disp.acc. to setup group). Check the settings under this profile especially the check box "dispatch at best time for set up" to see if it works.

Hi Prashanth,
Setup group tries to group products with similar characteristics.
Setup matrix provides the sequence in which the set up groups
can be executed.
Setup sceanrio is used in cases where in the time taken for switching
over from one product or group of products or category of products or
charactersitics of products which is called as predecessor to another
product or group of products or category of products or characteritiss of
products which is called as successor.
Say for eg, if you are having a scenario wherein
you need to manufacture products with low weight,
medium weight and heavy weight products.
You can define in the set up matrix that for switch
over from low weight to medium weight products for
manufacturing, the set up time involved in 2 hours and
the setup cost involved is Rs.100,
Similarly, for switching over from heavy weight products
to medium weight products, the set up time involved
is 3 hours and the set up cost involved is Rs.50.
Based on this information, system will frame a matrix
of information and use during planning.

Security setup operations failed: creating system keys

I have just downgraded my T60 laptop from Vista to windows xp using the lenovo CD's.
Everything seems to be working well, except that each time I boot up the computer, the lenovo security setup software runs. If I follow the menus all the way through, I get to the following error on the last screen:
"your security settings have been configured however, one or more setup operations failed: creating system keys"
There was also a message that previously briefly flashed during the bootup (on the "bios" screen?) which stated that the system was designed to use fingerprints to protect something or other, but this was not enabled. However: I then ran all updates for windows xp and for lenovo drivers etc. This message has now gone away (and unfortunately I didn't write it down).
I'm guessing the failure to "create system keys" results in the software running each time I boot up.
Another possibility: I have not yet enabled the symantec security, as I intend to uninstall it and use other virus protection software. Could this be causing the"failure to create system keys"?
(The fingerprint reader works fine, and reads my fingerprint at the windows logon screen.)
**UPDATE**: uninstalled symantec security software, and this had no effect.

What Karan has mentioned is absolutely correct.
To simpify it,
Suppose you have two materials M1 and M2 for which you want to give customer/material specific discount.
Create one material pricing group (e.g, 01) in customising, assign the Material Pricing group 01 to both the material in their respective material master in Sales org 2 view.
In V/06, open the condition type K005, activate the "Group condition" check box and assign "Routine 3" in the "Gorup condition routine" check box by selecting the value from the drop down.
Now create condition record for Condition type K005 in t.code VK11 for the two materials for one specific customer.
For example, for cudtomer C1 and Material M1, discount is Rs.10 per Piece(PC).
Go to scale and specify in the scale that if 10 Pieces then discount is Rs.15 per piece.
Similarly, for Custome C2 and Material M2 maintain a condition record for discount is Rs.20 per piece.
Go to scale and maintain and specify that, if 10 pieces order then discount will be Rs.25 per piece.
Now create a Sales order for the Customer C1 with the two material M1 and M2 with quantity 4 pieces and 6 pieces respectively.
System will add up the quantities of both the material as 4+6=10 pieces.
Even though, there respective order quantities are 4 pieces and 6 pieces , but still both the item will avail the discount for 10pieces level beacuse of the group condition settings.
But, the rate of the discount will taken from there individual condition record.
That means, M1 will get discount of Rs.15 per piece. So for 4 pieces discount will be Rs.60.
Similarly, M2 will get discount of Rs.25 per piece. So for 6 pieces discount will be Rs.150.
If there is no setting for group condition then, M1 would have got discount of Rs.40 and M2 would have got discount of Rs.90.

Add new instrument group/category?

I'm working on composing for a video game project, and for the music I've set up a bunch of my own instrument presets. I'd like to create a new group/category for these presets. For example, there is "Bass", "Drum Kits", "Guitars", etc. I'd like one titled "The Game" for example. That way I don't have to jump around between categories to find/edit the game's instruments. It would save a LOT of time. How do I go about doing this?

Go into the folder HD/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Software. There you see the folder with the categories. (Or in the respective folder in your User directory.)
You should be able to create new folders there and put your self-created .cst files into them. Be careful with everything you do in the Instrument Library - it is not meant to be maniputlated manually, so you might confuse GB!

Entering Product Group / Category at the Lead Creation Stage

Our Client requires to capture the Product Group / Category at the Lead Creation Level.
At the lead creation level the sales engineer is not exactly aware of the product pricely which the customer wants to buy but knew which Product Group / Category the customer is interested in. So is there any way to capture the Product Group / Product Category at the Lead Creation Level.

Administration group vs Dynamic group in 12c

Hi All,
I was going thru 12cR2 documentation, and description for Administration group and Dynamic group looks same to me.
Do any one of you know what's the real difference between them?
Any one of you started using this new feature in 12c?

Administration groups and dynamic groups are similar in that their membership is dynamic, i.e. you specify the membership criteria based on target properties, and Enterprise Manager will automatically add the targets into the appropriate administration group and/or dynamic group(s) if the targets' properties match their criteria.
However, administration groups have additional semantics. As it is mentioned in the doc: "Administration groups greatly simplify the process of setting up targets for management in Enterprise Manager by automating the application of management settings such as monitoring settings or compliance standards. Typically, these settings are manually applied to individual target, or perhaps semi-automatically using custom scripts. However, by defining administration groups, Enterprise Manager uses specific target properties to direct the target to the appropriate administration group and then automatically apply the requisite monitoring and management settings. This level of automation simplifies the target setup process and also enables a datacenter to easily scale as new targets are added to Enterprise Manager for management."
So you use administration groups primarily to automate the process of setting up your targets for monitoring/management. Once a target joins an administration group, then Enterprise Manager automatically applies to the target the monitoring templates and/or compliance standards and/or cloud policies that you have associated with your administration group. Because of this feature, a target can belong to at most one administration group. This is to prevent conflicting scenarios where a target is part of multiple administration groups that have different associated monitoring templates.
Both dynamic groups and administration groups support group operations -- running jobs, reports, etc.
So if you want to leverage the automation of target setup provided by administration groups/template collections... then use administration groups.
If you want to leverage the dynamic membership of groups and have requirements that a target needs to be part of multiple of such groups, use dynamic groups.

Default excise group and series group issue

Hi Gurus
I have a doubt. Is it possible to maintain the default excise group and series group in this order
sales org     dis chnl    division    ship pt    plant    excise group    series group

i tried this combination, but getting the error message that a key already exists....The header data sales area and shipping point already exists.... I cant understand why we cant give the same sales area and shipping point for a new plant combination

Hi Mathan,
When we say Excise group then it is maintained for the plant as it is maintained with Excise authorities. We can have same shipping point for 2 different plants but the possibilities are less and when 2 plants share the resources and facilities then those plants are registered as a single excise entity with the authorities. That is the reason that the option of having the same sales area and shipping point as header data is not allowed for more than one excise group. This is more business related than SAP.

Site Grouping is used for ease of maintenance by grouping the sites.It is also used to maintain the characteristics as well.This can also be used in Allocation Tables,promotion and Listing etc

There is no T-Code for Setting Customer Group and Pricing gorup in Customizing
But we assign generally this two in front end due to requirements,
like we consider in this two in Pricing condition creation in VK11, here suppose we maintain Key Combination in Customer Group and Pricing Group then we consider

Item Category determines the processing of any Item/material that we enter in a sales order and in this way it also effects the procesing of any sales doc in which it is used.
Item Category Group is one of the component which along with the Sales Doc Type, The Item Usage and Higher Level Item Category decide about the Item Category in a sales doc.
for example we can ERLA as item cat group and carry out the header level pricing or we can LUMF and do the item level pricing in case of a Sales BOM.
General item category group talks about further classification of a material. Like NLAG- non stock material can be used to identify bom header items, service items.

How to display the last value of a field in a group in the group header

I need to display the last quiz score from a group of quiz scores as part of the header of a group of units (the quiz score values are in the detail record). I can not use the group footer, which would be the natural place to find the last value. It must be in the group header because there will be a subsequent group within the unit group. In other words, the grouping is as follows:
Unit Group Header (Display last quiz score in unit)
SubUnit Group Header (Display other detail summaries)
Detail Record (including quiz score)
SubUnit Group Footer
Unit Group Footer
While there is a minimum/maximum summary function, there is not a first/last function.

One suggestion to display the last quiz score in the Group Header, other than what had already been suggested, will be to use a linked subreport in the Group Header. It is not an efficient way to display the information, but it could do the trick.
Another suggestion will be to insert a subreport in the report header, then store the last quiz score in an array for each group, then share it with the main report and display the values in the appropriate group. In this way it will only connect twice to the data source, one for the main report and once for the subreport, instead of multiple connection for each group.
Finally, the most efficient way will be to have this value calculated on the database side using a command object or a stored procedure.

In contacts app how can I move a contact from one group to another group?

I find I cannot move a contact from one group to another group. If I delete a contact from one group I delete that contact from my total contact population. I did not have this problem in earlier IOS versions. Can anyone help me?

I will definitely get them all moved over before I delete that account and I've already gone in & changed my preferences. Several years ago, my husband I decided to share one calendar and one contacts list, using his mobile me account and it's been great for us. I'm particularly thrilled to no longer serve as a human rolodex and I guess that I paniced a bit when I thought there might be a problem with our system. I'm still confused where that "On my mac" account came from on the first place. Do you suppose that was an automatic thing that came with the Mountain Lion upgrade?

In exchange you cannot have the same email address for multiple recipients .
First and Best way is to remove the email address from the old user account and add the same smtp address to the new user who is going to take his place.
Second option would be forwarding all the emails from old user account to new user account when an email was triggered to the email address ([email protected]) .on this case there is no need to remove or delete the email address from the old user account
and also email address ([email protected]) will still reside on the old user account .
If i am at your place i will choose the first option and i agree with DJ
