Sh controllers dot11Radio 1 | i Gain

What means each of parameters in an output of command 'sh controllers dot11Radio 1 | i Gain' on Cisco AIR AP1142N-R?
AP1-1#sh controllers dot11Radio 1 | i Gain

AP1-1#

The gain is basically for the antenna used on the access point. An 1142 has built-in antennas so this command will not change anything. On access points that have external antennas, you can change the gain to what the gain of the antenna is rated for. This changes the total EIRP of the AP.

  • LAP 1142N "Radio disabled due to PoE" after upgrade to 7.6.120

Recently, we upgraded our 5508 wireless controllers from 7.4.110.0 to 7.6.120.0.
One AP (AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9) doesn't work now.
Both radios are stuck in state 'reset':
    AP#sh int dot11Radio 0 | inc Dot11Radio0
Dot11Radio0 is reset, line protocol is down
It seems to be a PoE issue:
    AP#sh controllers dot11Radio 0
    Radio disabled due to PoE
This 1142N is connected to a HP switch (model 3800 with 802.3af/802.3at support). It did work on this switch several months before this upgrade and it works if connected to Cisco switch (Cat 6513).
We didn't upgrade the switch firmware or change its configuration.
The PoE status from the switch CLI:
PoE    | Power  Power    Alloc Alloc Actual Config   Detection   Power Pre-std
Port   | Enable Priority By    Power Power  Type     Status      Class Detect
      ------ + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ -------- ----------- ----- ------
      21     | Yes    low      lldp  33 W  7.8 W           Delivering  3     off
Other APs (80 3602 connected to HP8212zl switches) do work without any problem.
Any idea how to solve this?

After updating to 7.6.120 we've noticed that some of our AP's wouldn't  come up. After looking in the switch's logs I found this
chassis: Ports  PoE usage has exceeded threshold of 80%.
The power drawn is 117w (show power-over-ethernet).
When I use the following command: show power-over-ethernet brief I get this:
PoE   | Power  Power    Alloc Alloc Actual Configured  Detection   Power Pre-std
Port  | Enable Priority By    Power Power  Type        Status      Class Detect
      ----- + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ ----------- ----------- ----- ------

      10    | Yes    low      usage 17 W  0.0 W              Disabled    3     off
Port 10 is where the missing AP is on.
How is it possible that after the update to 7.6.120 the AP won't work anymore?

    Vlad,
According to this article (http://www.revolutionwifi.net/2010/07/beamforming-clientlink-and.html), maximum number of Beamforming-clients = 15:
"...Cisco's documentation states that a maximum of 15 clients per radio can be supported using ClientLink at the same time..."
...and I saw, on other access point AIR-AP1142N-R-K9 there were at the same time 6 clients at one frequency (2.4GHz).
I have an assumption that ClientLink doesn't service the client, at which "Current Rate: 54.0" (without beamforming), irrespective of values "Signal Strength: ... ". In my case with client 5555.5555.5555 situation disputable as it is on boundary - 51Bdm, though "Current Rate      : 48.0".
    Here the white paper on ClientLink 1.0 / 2.0 / 3.0 technologies:

  • Could I use MBSSID on Cisco 851W? Feature Navigator Says "Yes"

I have looked at the Cisco Feature Navigator and according to the output with IOS 12.4(15)T1 thru T13 there is support for multiple SSID's and the feature "Multiple Basic Service Set ID" should be supported.
When I try to invoke that command mbssid on my Dot11 interface I get 'Invalid' response.
? Help shows no commands like this either.
Am I missing something here? Is the Feature Navigator misleading me or am I doing something wrong?
All I want to do is broadcast both SSID's that I currently have configured. Currently only one guest mode SSID is allowed and broadcast.
    Thanks

    Hi Daniel,
MBSSID feature is not supported on 851W. You can verify this by entering the command "show controllers Dot11Radio 0" on your router which will give you the number of MBSSIDs supported is 1.
You can also refer to the data sheet given below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/ps6195/product_data_sheet0900aecd8028a9a9.html
Hence you can broadcast only one SSID at a time on 851W.
    Regards,
    Maithri

  • RT - PID Gains - where and when to use them

The attached is example code for controlling a temperature chamber. The question is where and when to use PID Gains? This code looks as though the PID Gain is used for the variable/parameter temperature (i.e. the temperature is the controlled variable).
So would there be just one PID Gain per controlled variable/parameter (temperature in this case) or would each device controlling temperature in the system get a PID Gain?
In this example, the fan and lamp are controlling the temperature.

I came here for help as this is where NI pointed me in their failure. I did not come here to get my "mental model" attacked.
Can you accept that your model of the system might be wrong, though? In this thread from a few weeks ago, multiple experienced users told you that what you had on your block diagram was an array, and yet you insisted - repeatedly - that what you had was a cluster. Your model was that the item on the block diagram was a cluster, leading to the question "how do I get an index display on it?" which made no sense, because the item was in fact an array. And, when you finally realized you were wrong, you couldn't even admit it or thank the people who pointed out your error - it just "turned out" that the constant wasn't what you thought it was. I am trying to tell you that you are making a similar error here by asking questions about the system that do not correspond to what the system actually does.
"Parameter/variable" isn't clear. There is correct terminology. A PID controller has, as inputs, a process variable and a setpoint. The process variable is the parameter you want to control, such as temperature. The setpoint is the desired value of the process variable. Let's say you do have a temperature control system where there is both a heating system and a cooling system (again, not the situation in your sample code). The two systems could both be driven by PID and share the same setpoint and process variable. Some control options for this system:
    - a single PID controller with one set of gains, where a negative output drives the cooling system and a positive output drives the heater (or some variation on this), if both the heater and chiller have similar performance characteristics.
    - two PID controllers, each with a set of gains, one controlling the heating and one controlling the cooler.
    - a combination of these two: a single controller with gains that are selected based on the setpoint or process variable, which is known as gain scheduling. The advantage to a single controller is that you'd never have the two controllers fighting each other.
You could also have a code that controls several similar processes (for examply, multiple identical temperature chambers). In that situation you could have a single set of PID gains but multiple controllers each with a different setpoint and process variable.
So there's not a simple yes/no answer to when you need a separate set of PID gains or an additional PID controller. It depends on the characteristics and design goals of your system. Does that help?

  • Replication and AD Domain sevices errors between 2 Domain Controllers

    Hi,
I've a 2 Domain Controllers (NJ-DC1-2K8 and NJ-DC2-2K8) setup in VMware Workstation 10. Recently, I've run into different errors in regards to Replication, DNS and AD Domain services. Both of my DC are setup with static IP pointing to each other for fault
tolerance. Initially, One of my DC had a lingering object error which I was able to fix after spending some time. The next day, when I tried to replicate 2 DC, the number of errors grew. Ran dcdiag, it produced a list of crazy errors that I never saw before.
I'm a newbie to the server environment, trying to gain knowledge so I can't get those errors sort out even I tried a lot. I read a lot of online articles on different forums like here Microsoft TechNet trying to overcome this problem but didn't work. I even
removed DNS role and re-added it but same problem. I guess removing the DNS role doesn't remove everything related to DNS. I'm going to upload pictures here of the different errors through the commands I got. I would appreciate if someone can help me to get
    it fixed.
Other than that, I also would like to know what is the best way to remove DNS, AD Domain Services and then reinstall them without demoting the server. What are some of the things I would have to keep in mind before doing that. How can I make sure that doing
this wouldn't impact in AD data loss like user account, GP Policies, Computer account and etc....?

Please someone go through these different errors and walk me through exactly what I got to do to fix them.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually, I made copies of those VMs to my external usb 3.0 hdd, so I can load up some of the VMs from it than from my internal hdd since it would freeze on my internal one sometimes. Copied ones worked fine for few days until recently when I started having
these different issues. I did look at USN rollback and applied the fix, didn't work. For the past few days, I been spending endless hours on fixing them but it doesn't look like they are going to be fixed. It's driving me crazy and the bad news is that I've
no backup of my data. I got 2 DC and both have these issues.
Building new domain controllers in VMs won't be a problem for me but I'm worried about losing my AD database in both DCs which includes user and computer accounts and a bunch GPOs.
I'm a newbie to the server environment. Can you please walk me through on exactly how can I save AD database if possible before I start doing the cleanup process on both of my DCs. I read some articles online which provide instructions on how can I cleanup
the AD with Metadata and take both DCs offline but it's all confusing to me. They don't explain anything about saving AD database rather demoting bad DCs. If you know a fix for my DCs that I can apply, so I won't have do it all over and save time. Please let
me know step by step process or whatever you could help me to bring those 2 DCs backup.
    Thanks

  • Dot11radio is missing

    Hello,
I have a cisco 857w ISR router. My wireless access point was working good until yesterday. Suddenly the wireless light is gone & there is no interface in the router named dot11. I could not even get into the interface configuration mode of dot11radio 0. sh controllers command doesn't show the dot11 interface as well. Is my wireless module is damaged ? Is there any process of recovery ?
    Thanks

here it goes. The reaload process

  • 7344 PID proportional gain = 1 but actuator still unstable.

    Hi LabView Gurus,
Problem: With the 7344 PID P gain set to 1 (I & D to zero), I cant get correct performance from my Dynaserv servo drive using encoder feedback.
I'm driving a Dynaserv (ActuatorM1075B60 ControllerD1075B02) in torque mode with an NI PCI7344.  All is working Ok, except that with a proportional gain of 1 the system is close to oscillation and overshoots when doing step velocity changes or position moves.  It appears that the system requires a gain of less than 1 (with a gain of 3 or greater the actuator becomes unstable)
The controller is working in absolute position mode with encoder feedback.  The Dynaserv encoder provides 425984 counts per revolution - which is much lager than I've seen before.  I normally work with encoders that provide 2000 counts/rev and these work well with a wide range of PID params usable depending on the mechanical set-up.
I require the Dynaserv to operate at anywhere from zero to greater than one rotation per second with accurate step changes in velocity and position with less than 0.1 degrees or 100 counts of overshoot.  I can't achieve this even with a gain of one currently.  It would appear that the encoder is simply providing too many counts.
I've tried limiting the 7344's output both in software and using a voltage divider on the output, but this doesn't solve the problem - I can't reach full torque as the output is reduced.  I've also looked into gearing and other settings on the 7344 but can't see anything helpful.  Note also i have the Dynaserve controllers gain at the minimum setting also.
Any ideas?  Your thoughts would be much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Shane.

    Shane,
I agree with your assumption, that the issue is caused by the high resolution of the encoder. If you increase the encoder resolution, this has exactly the same effect as increasing Kp.
So compared to a standard 2000 counts/rev encoder, your encoder scales Kp with a factor of about 213. As the 73xx boards run the PID loop on a DSP without floating point unit, this encoder eats up all the headroom for your Kp value.
From a functional point of view, such a high resolution encoder rarely makes sense, as all the mechanical positioning errors of your system are typically much higher than the resolution of the encoder, so it doesn't add real accuracy to your system. In fact it may even add more issues if you want to run the motor at higher velocities, as thie means very high frequencies that need to pass the encoder cable. The 7344 supports up to 20 MHz encoder input signals, but at these frequencies cable damping and noise can become serious problems.
So if possible I recommend to exchange the encoder with a lower resolution version. By the way, is this a real quadrature encoder or are you using an emulated encoder signal, that is generated by your drive (typical setup for BLDC motors). In this case you may be able to reduce the resolution in the drive's configuration.
    Kind regards,

  • Teamed network cards for domain controllers?

can someone help me to resolve a debate we have: my colleage states that domain controllers (in our case Win2003SP2) should "not" have their network cards teamed for high availability (via HP's NIC teaming software).? I've not heard of this and cannot Bing/Google anything like this. I'm under the impression that a domain controller "should" have it's gigabit NICs teamed to make sure that directory services are highly available.
any information on this would be great. thanks...Peter A. Berger Jr.

    Fault Tolerance and Network Teaming
Anyone who has called Microsoft for help with a networking problem has likely heard the question: "Are you using network teaming?" I have often heard this referred to by Microsoft's customers as a "quick out" or an excuse that Microsoft was looking to pass the responsibility on to someone else. As someone that has been on both ends of the phone, and at the highest escalation point within Microsoft's Network queues I can tell you that it is a question born of wisdom and tempered with experience. While working the phones at Microsoft, supporting the largest and most critical systems in the US it was rare to ever get a call about the same problem more than once. Even more rare was for everyone on our group to get the same calls, and have the same experiences. I recall it happening when we fought the blaster worm, and when Microsoft's "Scalable Networking Pack" was released with 2003 SP2. These were bad, but a few months went by and except for a few straggles the phone calls stopped, the world got wise to the issue and the problem was resolved. I was amazed though to experience 1-3 calls a week with network issues CAUSED by network teaming. I could not help but be blown away by the irony of a program meant to avoid network failure so often causing it. I talked to colleagues, (of which I have found no better single source in the industry than at Microsoft), and found that even the old timers having more than 15 years with the company had the same stories of problems caused by networking teaming as we are constantly experiencing today. I am amazed that an industry as wise and agile as the computer industry has been (and is), has stuck with such a poor technology. I always asked my customers as the called with problems, usually critical ones, "What is teaming these network cards getting you". Almost unanimously the answer would come fault tolerance, to which I would reply rhetorically "How often do you NICs or Switches fail and how often has teaming caused network failure?" In my opinion, it is unforgivable for an application to constantly cause the problem that it is written to avoid. It should cause pause and reflection as to whether the technology is well suited for its function, whether it is just written poorly or if all of its implementations have similar problems. Technology today is beyond network teaming. There are far better methods of providing fault tolerance with manual and automatic failover. Most application writers have taken into consideration fault tolerance at the service level superseding anything that network teaming offers, so that network teaming should be a dead technology, because it is killing us.
Finally, if you are considering using network teaming, or have had reason to reconsider its use, maybe these questions will help your assessment:
What is my goal with using network teaming?
Can I gain Availability through use of a more capable NIC card?
How often have my NIC cards failed?
When NIC cards have failed were they the only failure, or was it in conjunction with a Motherboard or other failure causing the service to be unavailable?
What are my needs for uptime for these services?
Would a manual failover (the simplest of options) be viable for this service?
What options for automatic failover do I have (since most applications can have multiple providers through configuration)?
One other note to add. While working on the phones at Microsoft, and later as a consultant to large and federal organizations, I found one thing that seemed to be true most of the time. When a problem occurred, it was rarely the OS itself, but something unnatural to its processes. Simplicity and minimalism is really one of the keys to a healthy server and environment. Often it is necessary to introduce other applications and services, but I do not think near as often as we do.
Note: MSFT does not support network teaming, because they do not own the software that provides it. In certain instances though, like with OCS, they flat out will not support OCS if teaming is enabled on the server.
Note2: I realize my comments above are very general, and so I want to apply these to this exact question. When I consider AD and how to make it fault tolerant, I cannot help but realize that the protocols, clients and services that make up Directory Services, are beautifully fault tolerant. In most cases, the loss of any one DC would not greatly affect the user's ability to authenticate to a computer or service within the domain. Even more, Directory services is inherently so fault tolerant that it can still function with the loss of a major part of the servers that make it up.

  • Unable to edit an Audio Region (just want to change gain)

    Hello,
In a particular audio region I am unable to change gain in that the "Change Gain" command (as well as all the other functions) are Grayed-out FOR THIS REGION. I am in Sample Editor>Functions>Change Gain.
There are over 200 audio regions in this file. Most of them have NONE of the edit functions grayed-out.
A few other regions have all the edit functions Grayed-out except for Change gain.
Almost all of the audio regions are from apple loops. I have not edited any of the regions except for some regions ending points, and volume automation added.
Why would this one particular audio region ("Country Night") by un-editable?
(NONE of the tracks are locked.)
    please help

Is it a file in .caf format? If so, note that compressed Audio formats can't be edited destructively. Convert to aiff/wav before.
Btw, there is a Gain function in the Region Inspector since Logic 9, so there is no need to change the gain in the sample editor anymore.

  • How to gain different permissions than the user's current logon provides?

I have a computer on a local network which contains a shared folder, and I've granted reading permissions for all users.
How can I grant a certain Java application, or gain from a certain application, which a user running on a different computer, permission to write to that folder without granting this user the permission?
Basically I need to create a situation when the other users can add files to the folder only through my Java application.
    Thanks.

You are right i wouldn't like to change owner. But I would like the program to be able identify itself as a different user who has writing privileges, or something of that sort, in order for it to have permissions. Something similar to the 'runas' command in windows.

You have to be in a country to use its store - you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account to be able to use the US store (that applies to buying and redownloading).
You can use iTunes Match in South Africa, do you not have a backup copy of all of your US iTunes purchases so that you can subscribe to it and upload those that aren't in the South African store to it ?

  • How to change gain or volume of one sample or loops in GB that remains fixed to it?

I am not talking about automation, nor am I talking about track volume.....
automation is a change for a place....if you happen to move that loop or clip from that place the pitch volume or tempo change is gone.....I want to change the volume of that one clip ......that remains specific to that part no matter where you move it.....

"fiddling' with those points and lines" is called creating "automation" and every pro user in Logic or any other DAW is doing that constantly. It is actually great that GB has this advanced feature (to some degree)
But you are right, the command for muting a Region should be included in GB. The other command for applying a simple gain offset to a Region wasn't even possible in Logic until recently.
If you feel strongly about specific features that should be available in GB, just send it to the GB Feedback. Most of the features are there (based on the underlying Logic code base). Apple just have to be convinced to enable a feature because they are convinced that most of the GB users need it.
    Hope that helps

  • Editing Loop Start and End times via automation / MIDI controllers?

I'm trying to play a sample in EXS24 and have the Sample Start, Loop Start and End times manipulated over the course of the song. I've tried to open up the EXS sample editor, click on the numerical value of the Loop Start, and then attempt to Learn Automation. All it does is assign the knob for the instrument Volume Level. Is there any way to do this? It's basically how an Akai S612 works: http://www.vintagesynth.com/akai/s612.shtml
I switched gears and tried it also with Battery, and there's a way to map the Start and End times in there, but it's not seeming to work as I've intended. I can't seem to make the loops move as they should and there's ways to use up to 4 loops, but not a way to target each loop's start and end points via separate controllers.
I could use my S-612 [and probably will], but in moments where I don't have one available, I'd love to find a solution to this.
    Thanks,

Anyone with any thoughts? would be great to solve this.

  • Create Multiple Build Controllers in Team Foundation Server 2013

    Hi all,
I have created an environment of Team Foundation Server 2013 & also installed SharePoint Foundation 2013. Everything is working fine. I have created a build controller on the same machine on which I have installed the TFS. This build controller is used
for building the projects of a Team Project Collection. I know that a build controller can only be used for one Team Project collection. Creating multiple build controllers on the same machine is not recommended by Microsoft.
I have another team project collection, for this I need to create another build controller. Could you please tell me how to create another build controller on a different machine.
    Please  help me with this.
    Thanks.

    Hi Vishwajeet,
You can do this by installing TFS in another machine (do not configure as app tier), and then configuring build services.
Complete instructions are in my post here http://chamindac.blogspot.com/2014/02/06-setup-build-server-setup-virtual.html
Setting up a TFS environment step by step explained in this blog series
    http://chamindac.blogspot.com/2013/12/setup-virtual-environment-for-tfs-2013.html
My posts explain how to setup on virtual box but it is same steps even if you setup in hyperv VM or in a standard machine.
One more recommendation I would like to make here is, it is better if you do not configure build services in TFS App Tier. Use separate build servers. Another one is do not create too many project collections. Project collections require separate build servers,
test controllers etc. because one is fully isolated from another collection. So carefully plan your TFS environment. I recommend you to download and read TFS Planing Guide from ALM Rangers from here
