Shall we use SRDemo Framework Extension Classes in 11G R1?

I just installed 11G R1 and reading developer guides. For development with 10.1.3.3 release I was using the Framework extension classes from SRDemo to base BC's on. Those methods includes many base functionality such as setManagerowsByKey, case-insensitive search, some bind variables initialized, and so on. Shall we continue to use them for 11G R1? To keep currency of viewobjects after rollback, I use the method proposed by Steeve Muench's blog entry which contains beforeRollback and afterRollBack methods on the base viewobject and exposing row state to client . shall I continue to use it?

How Do I Use Generics with Framework Extension Classes?

I've been writing alot of duplicate code lately for ViewObjects that are all basically the same. So it occurred to me that perhaps I could put shared code in a Framework Extension Class. My problem lies in the fact that I do quite a bit of class casting as well. I thought perhaps Generics could come to the rescue. But uh ... I don't really know anything about them, which makes asking the right questions or even researching difficult.
Here's an example of what I would like to accomplish.
I have many different Master-Detail ViewObjects which are all pretty much the same. For example ...
PurchaseOrder (1-*) PoRows
SalesOrder (1-*) SoRows
Invoice (1-*) InvoiceRows
etc...
Here is sample code for the PurchaseOrder / PoRows

1) How do I access the Detail part of the relationship in a framwork extension class generically?
2) If I have to cast, is there a way to read the class type through reflection and cast using a generic method with what I've found?
I would think writing common methods in a Framework Extension class would really help make maintaining my code easier, and I could see how it would be a powerful tool. But how would one get around these ViewObject specific problems?

you are correct, Generics has a different meaning in Java then what you ask for.
Actually to access a detail row set from a parent row, you can use code like this:

First of all check the Table on which you are having your DFF. If its at the same level as of the Page (I mean the Page VO is on the same table) then there is a high likelihood that ORacle would have provided the DFF and you just need to set the rendered property to true. In Personalize Page you need to provide a Segment List which is a concatenated list of AttributeCategory and allowed Segments for the DFF.
Dev guide is a good place to look for details.

Can I use OA framework to create custom pages

My client is using 11.5.8 and the Framework version is 5.6.
And we want to add a custom page to iSupplier application.
Can I use OA Framework extension to develop the page and add it to the application without upgrading the applications techstack.? If Yes, what version of the OA patch do I need to use for development.
If not, is there any way to add a custom page to this application?

OAF can be technology of choice only after 11.5.9 . Use JSP instead to develop your custom pages.

Do you want to download the table view contents to a xls file right?? Is my understanding is correct?
IF it is then go to the .html page of your table view and there fill the attribute downloadToexcel.
Data: lv_excel type string.

Infact the actual code defines the countryEnter() method with an integer return type.
Here my real problem is as belows:

I think all the required jars are not loaded during the installation.
I advice you , to download the jdeveloper again and update the webcenter files.

Enhancement Framework is the new paradigm to bring all enhancement techniques under one roof. It can also be switched using Switch Framework. The following are different enhancement technologies available under this framework.

Semantically related enhancement options are grouped under a ‘Simple Enhancement Spot’. ‘Composite Enhancement Spot’ contains one or more of Simple and other Composite Enhancement Spots. On the other hand (implementation side), various related implementation elements are grouped under a ‘Simple Enhancement Implementation’. Pl/SQL procedure + framework extension

We have requirement to write common pl/sql procedure calling method to execute the pl/sql procedure called from ADF BC entityImpl and Application module Impl classes. While reading document it is mentioned to add it in adf bc framework extension base classes.But if we place common pl/sql procedure calling method in entity Impl base classes,how I can use same method from application module classes?
Any other approach? Any pattern??

Ravi,
you have to be more specific. What is the intention of the PL/SQL function you want to call from the EntiyImpl class. If you plan to just do something on attribute level or are probably on the save side. For anything else you have to make sure that after changing anything using PL/SQL you have to query all VO again. Otherwise they don't get the changes.
The method to call PL/SQL is like the one from the doc. You even can get an application module and call a method from there.
To get the application module from an EO

My project contains more than 200 maintenance tables.
Maintenance tables are very small and less than 100 lines.
Maintenance tables mostly associated with a translation table.
Translation tables are used for localized texts.
Translation tables consists of Master Table Key + LanguageKey.
I want to edit customizing tables only session language as single table.
Translation table row may or may not be. Thats mean relationship is 1 to 0..1.
ADF table control ignore this relationship.
I tried view link between master view and detail view objects, but if translation table line is empty ADF table control throws translation iterator is null exception.
I tried entity based left joined editable view I get view link inconsisty problem.
In this case, the BC forcing me to framework extension.
How is develop solution?

Handling events in BSP application using WML tag Extensions

We are developing a BSP applications for Mobile handheld using WML tag library. I am looking for some code samples to know how we can handle evevents inside the BSP using the WML tag library.
Can any one of you plesae help us by placing a code snippet for handling onInputprocessing() methods (BSP Using WML Tag extensions).
I mean to ask how we can handle events inside the BSP applications that uses the WML tag library.
I know about how to handle BSP events using HTMLB and XHTMLB tags frameworks.

Is this WML tag library something that is supplied by SAP u2013 as a BSP Extension Element? Or are you just using WML tags directly in your layout? I can tell you in general that if you want to generate HTMLB events from regular HTML code you can generate the JavaScript calls using the htmlbEvent tag of the BSP extension library. However your tags have to be running within an HTMLB Content tag for this to work.
If you want to work totally without HTMLB then you need to use the simple HTTP Post but format the input name as OnInputProcessing(<function code>) like this:
<input type="submit" name="OnInputProcessing(ok)" value="OK">
This will cause the OnInputProcessing event handler to trigger without needing any HTMLB tags (this is how it was done in WebAS 6.10 before we BSP Extensions).

ReportServer intengration error - An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'ADS'

For a moment I thought I had the perfect SharePoint 2010 installation going until I went and created an Access Database site added some data then went to reports. I am getting the following error.
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'ADS' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
Other than that, life is good. I have pretty much uninstalled and stuff repeatedly. I'm about to do another uninstall, reinstall because Monitorying isn't showing any errors. Which it should be, but that's another post; should the issue return.
But if anybody has any ideas about the ADS thing I would sure like to hear it.

At the moment it is all house on the same machine; but if it goes to production then it will be turned in to a two-tier system.

You'll have to install the Reporting Services Add-in for Connected Mode:
A. Modify the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config file on the Reporting Services server.
Under the <Data> node, under the <Extension> node, add the ADS data extension. For example:

In Step B, the following is unclear to me - In the <CodeGroup>node, find the following line and change PermissionSetName from “Execution” to “ReportExpressionsDefaultPermissionSet”. There are
MANY Code Group nodes. And in addition to that there are two with PermissionSetName="Execution"; Which one?

Extension classes in jdk1.4.x

I am using the method ResourceBundle.getBundle("java.text.resources.LocaleElements", Locale.getDefault()) for
jdk1.3 and ResourceBundle.getBundle("sun.text.resources.LocaleElements", Locale.getDefault())for jdk1.4
in Applet client to get locale specific info.
This works in jdk1.3 and the resource is loaded without
any problem but in jdk1.4 it throws "MissingResourceException"
The class LocaleElements is present under lib/ i18n.jar in jdk1.3

Is this causing the problem? Is there any problem in loading
extension classes by plug-in?

I have a couple of ideas.
First, I looked into the jar you mentioned in the 1.4 jdk ext directory and it did NOT contain an entry for LocaleElements_en_US.class (your stack trace indicated that you were looking for en_US). This could be causing your ClassNotFoundException.
Also, you could verify that the jar is loaded. For example, you could go to the Java Plug-in's control panel, go to the "Advanced" tab and in the "Java Runtime Parameters" text field place the name of the jar in question to be prepended in the boot classpath. For example, you could put the entry:
-Xbootclasspath/p:<java home goes here>/jre/lib/ext/localdata.jar
With this option in place, you know that the classloader will have knowledge of that jar and that it gets loaded (assuming that the path is correct). If the CNFException still occurs, then it sounds like the problem from above.

Workaround for using Oracle JDBC extension with WLS pooling

Reading the newsgroup I saw that many of us encountered the problems
with ClassCastException when tried to use Oracle JDBC extension
with WLS pooling. I also had.
In this case BEA recommends to use dangerous
method getVendorConnection() which exposes
the physical connection object to your code.
Yes it's really dangerous because of unsafe usage may breaks
WLS pooled connection(s).
Moreover, this practice will make your JDBC code
unportable (your JDBC code in addition to Oracle dependence
became Weblogic dependent):

Yes the real cause of ClassCastException is that
in depth of Oracle driver the casting
to class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection
(not to interface oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection)
is performed.
Someone can say that this is bug or pure desing.
Weblogic pooled connection provide dynamic
implementation for all public interfaces
which real physical (wrapped) connection object implements.
Great feature!
But I guess that all interface methods implemented
by simple call-delegation to physical (wrapped) connection object.
In case of oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection interface
this approach doesn't work for at least one its method:
