Shapes on the same graph

im trying to make a program that when a boolean switch is clicked it draws a certain shape on a graph and then when i turn another boolean switch on it draws another shape onto the same graph but will remove the other shape when boolean is swtiched off. any dieas on how i would do that?
(if that makes any sense)
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Here's what i have so far. Im wanting to make it so there are three boolean swicthes for each shape (circle,triangle and rectangle) so that when they are switched on, they draw the shape onto a graph (but the same one not 3 seperate ones). Im not sure on how i would link them all to one graph and how to put them into a case structure. Everytime i try to put them into a case structure it just causes other parts on the different parts fo code to delete for some reason.
Hope this makes sense on what im trying to do.
Any help would be appretiated
ps you maye need to scroll along to the right on the block diagram to find the code for the other shapes

  • How do you plot multiple curves on the same graph when using a while loop?

    I am writing a program that will plot the IV Output chracterisitcs curves for a MOSFET transistor. I have two sweep variables Vg and Vd. For each Vg valve selected, Vd is swept from its start to stop voltage creating a graph for that Vg valve. Both of the sweeps are done using while loops. Ideally I would like to display all of the Vg plots on the same graph while having the ability to do real-time graphing. Can anyone help me figure this problem out? I have attached my program. Thanks!!

    Hi Tammy & Tica T,
    As far as I see it - this thread is a very bad version of already existing bad version......
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=127857
    I expected, that an Applications Engineer from NI knows something about  a Transistor and how an Output characteristic looks like !!  Take a look to a typical Transistor Datasheet ( e.g. n-channel MOSFET) - you will see, that there is no relation of ID vs Time like in your example ( values vs time )  but  IDrain vs VDrain at different VGate's ( no relation to Mr. Bill Gates ).
    Find attached a vi, that in general does what you need - drawing of  curves vs x-axis (XY-graph in use)  - in test_sweep.zip.  And that you geet an impression, how it might be done ...... dynamic Output characteristic of a Transistor with Standard Equipment of a Lab ( Scope + Generator + Power Supply ) find in addition a Frontpanel - picture. One of the interesting points here is - the self-heating effect; visible on ch3 of scope - 5µs Pulse is already a very long time...... This measurement was done in order to compare with our own Transistors.........
    Hope this helps a little bit to understand, what we are talking about.
    Regards
    Werner

  • How to generate a report with more than one elements in the same graph??

    I need to generate a custom report in OEM GC 10g featuring volume total capacity information and volume free capacity information both in the same graph on (Y-axis) and time on the (X-axis). I could generate only the total volume capacity graph individually, but how can the combined graph and the graph for free capacity be generated...

    Is it your values in parameter NO separated by coma? And is it
    parameter in where clause?
    Do you want something like :
    from table
    where s_no in (NO) ?
    If is answer "yes" you can create lexical parameter in report.
    You can write in report sowething like:
    select a.field1, a.field2,.....
    from table a
    &COND /* this is if is condition only one line after "from".
    if you have more lien after where then you will put this &COND
    in line where you want to have your multivalue.
    Then in your trigger in form you should write:
    sc_no := 'where a.sc_no in ('||:searchlist.c_no||')';
    ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'pamametername', TEXT_PARAMETER, sc_no);
    /* again this is if you have only one line with WHERE ili
    conditions */
    or you will write:
    sc_no := 'and a.sc_no in ('||:searchlist.c_no||')';
    ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'pamametername', TEXT_PARAMETER, sc_no);
    It will substitute line in which is your conditions with
    multivalue.

  • Overlay Images and Shapes on the same canvas

    The example copde below was taken from: http://math.hws.edu/eck/cs124/javanotes3/source/
    Is it possible to update the code so that images (jpg,gif) can be added as well as shapes?
    Any help with this is much appreciated.
        The ShapeDraw applet lets the user add small colored shapes to
        a drawing area and then drag them around.  The shapes are rectangles,
        ovals, and roundrects.  The user adds a shape to the canvas by
        clicking on a button.  The shape is added at the upper left corner
        of the canvas.  The color of the shape is given by the current
        setting of a pop-up menu.  The user can drag the shapes with the
        mouse.  Ordinarily, the shapes maintain a given back-to-front order.
        However, if the user shift-clicks on a shape, that shape will be
        brought to the front.
        A menu can be popped up on a shape (by right-clicking or performing
        some othe platform-dependent action).  This menu allows the user
        to change the size and color of a shape.  It is also possible to
        delete the shape and to bring it to the front.
        This file defines the applet class plus several other classes used
        by the applet, namely:  ShapeCanvas, Shape, RectShape, OvalShape,
        and RoundRectShape.

  • Need to graph one DAQ output vs. a second DAQ output on the same graph.

    I am having trouble graphing two DAQ assistant outputs on the same graph.  One output vs. the second output.

    Hi there,
    You have to convert the DDT signal that comes from the DAQ Assistant to get or data in two arrays.
    Then bundle them into a cluster and use a XY Graph.
    See attached example:
    Hope this helps,

  • How to plot 2 signal in the same graph but different frequency?

    Hi!!
    I have 2 sensor, motion and EMG.. I want to plot both of the signal (after processing) in the graph (real-time)..
    The frequency of motion sensor is 128 Hz and for EMG sensor 800 Hz..
    When I'm trying to plot (motion and emg) in the same graph, the signal from EMG (red line) not smoothly and very different with motion sensor..
    I'm trying to resample that signla but, it's not working..
    Can you help me?
    thank youu

    Yes, I trying to use merge signal before...  but signal from emg signal didn't appear in the graph (using merge signal figure)..
    I'm showing motion and emg signal in different graph, it's work..
    But I need to show both of signal in one graph to compare between motion and emg signals (fig1)

  • Several curves with several scales on the same graph

    Hello,
    I am currently working on a project which include a data acquisition VI. I would like to display two curves with two different scales (0 to 1 and 0 to 200) on the same graph.
    I have been trying nearly all the options in the properties menu, I can not find anything that corresponds to what I want.
    Do you know how to do such a thing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gabriel.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Right click on the existing scale and click Duplicate Scale.
    EDIT:  I should add that you'll need to set ActYScl through a property node to switch between the difference scales if you want to run operations on them.

    You've done a few things wrong. Instead of reading the files with each iteration of the loop, read them once outside. You should just wire the array of paths to the for loop with autoindexing turned on. Then you eliminate the array size and wiring that to the iteration terminal. You don't have autoindexing turned on ofr the output of the for loop so all you get out is the result from the last read.

  • Plotting two continuous analog intpus on the same graph.

    Hey,im currently using visual basic 6.0 and Measurement Stdio and want to read in two analog input signals at the same time and plot them on the same graph.Is there any sample code available to look at to carry this out?Or any help on how to go abouts this.
    Cheers

  • Two indicators to the same graph.

    How to connect the same indicators to the same graph if you have it in different tabs?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Sounds like you want to use the same indicator in two different cases. This is not really possible, unless you want to use a local variable - which I would not recommend. If you want to wire something to the same indicator from different cases, you should place the indicator outside the case structure, thus making a tunnel through the case structure.
    Also, it sounds like you want the same graph on two different tabs in a tab control. Why use different tabs if you want the same information? Maybe you could redesign your GUI?
    But again, as everyone else is saying, share your code and it will be a lot easier for us to help :-)

  • How can I draw two differenct plots at the same graph?

    [I am beginner]
    I have two different set of data which have differenct x-axis values. How can I draw two data at the same plot?
    For example, one data set is
    x y
    1 3.5
    3 2.3
    5 1.3
    8 3.2
    The other
    1 2.3
    2.5 5.4
    4 2.5
    If I use m_graph.plotXvsY two times. But it draw only one graph at the same time.
    Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

    Do you really need the two sets of data on the same plot or is what you really care about is that the two sets of data are in the same graph? If it's the former, then there's not much that you can do since a plot can only contain one set of data. You can append to an existing set of data by calling the corresponding Chart (for example, ChartXvsY) method, but the result is that the plot's data will appear continuous.
    If it's the latter, the way to do this is to add multiple plots to the graph and plot each set of data in a separate plot. For example, go to the Plots tab in the graph's property pages, add another plot, then here's some sample code that demonstrates how to plot the sets of data from your example above:
    double xData1[] = { 1, 3, 5, 8 };
    double yData1[] = { 3.5, 2.3, 1.3, 3.2 };
    CNiReal64Vector xDataSet1(4, xData1), yDataSet1(4, yData1);
    m_graph.Plots.Item(1).PlotXvsY(xDataSet1, yDataSet1);
    double xData2[] = { 1, 2.5, 4 };
    double yData2[] = { 2.3, 5.4, 2.5 };
    CNiReal64Vector xDataSet2(3, xData2), yDataSet2(3, yData2);
    m_graph.Plots.Item(2).PlotXvsY(xDataSet2, yDataSet2);
    Hope this helps.

  • How do you open multiple binary files and plot them all on the same graph?

    I have three different binary files and I want to plot all 3 of them onto a graph.
    I am familiar with opening and reading a single binary file. (Thanks to the help examples!)
    But to do multiple numbers at the same time?  I was thinking of putting 3 different 'reading from binary file' blocks with the rest of the 'prompts', 'data type', etc.. and then connecting them on the same wire.
    However, I got into a mess already when I tried to read one .bin file to dynamic data type --> spectral measurements --> graph waveform.  The error was Not enough memory to complete this operation...  Why is that?  That didnt happen in the help example "Read Binary File.vi"...  Has it got something to do with the dynamic data type?
    Thank you for your time.
    Jud~

    Have a look at the image below and attached VI.  Simply enter the different paths into the PathArray control.

  • How do you get multiple plots to show up on the same graph?

    I am trying to get multiple (20) plots to show up on the same XY
    graph.  My data set is a 2D array, which exits a for loop.
    The ultimate goal is to have one plot show up after each iteration of
    the for loop.  I can only get all 20 to show up at once, not one
    at a time.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Here is a sample in 7.0 format.

  • How can I Resize Two or More Shapes At The Same Time?

    I've got text over a rectangle over another rectangle. When I change my text, the size of the boxes needs to change and it's a drag ot have to do each one separately and constantly realign. Is there a way I can resize both of them at the same time tokeep the proportions the same?
    Or is there a way I can enter #s to resize, so I could just enter the same #s for each shape?
    Thanks,
    Amanda

    Here's an example of what Wyodor is referring to: text in shapes within another shape.. It goes one step further and adds the first shape+text into another shape but the concept is the same.

  • Is it normal for a waveform graph to truncate arrays of values that are longer than others when displaying multiple waveforms on the same graph?

    I am reading back values of several waveforms that were saved to disk using the write to spreadsheet vi. Some of the data sets are longer than others eg. 35 seconds vs 45 seconds. All have the same sample rate.
    See the code segment below. If I select the larger files first then all the data will show. If I select a smaller file first the larger ones will be truncated to the size of the small file. I am using LV 7.0.

    I needed to make some grammatical/ nomelclature changes, But, Could not edit the previous post.
    so posting again
    "Thats because you are inserting into an array of a predefined size.
    For ex,
    When you try inseting a 1D array 'A' of 50 elements as row 1 of a  2 D array of 40 elements(in row 0 ), only only the first 40 elements will get insetred into 2 D array. You lose the last 10 elements of array 'A'
    To avoid this, I suggest you use XY graph( of course you have to create an x axis with the index of each element in the inserted array and plot on xy graph).
    Any doubts, do get back"
