Share A Movie As High Definition Flash Video

Hello:
I am using Premiere Elements 4.0 and I would like to create a 720p Flash Video from a 720p input file.
Using the presets, I can create a 720p MPG no problem, but there doesn't seem to be a Flash Video setting higher than 640X480.  Is there a way to create a FLV format for HD so that it will show up as HD on You Tube?
Thanks,
Rich Locus

The best solution we've found is to output the video as a high-def MP4 and let YouTube re-encode it as a FLV file, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623549?tstart=0
You're not going to get any higher quality going from FLV to FLV, since the program will still convert it to its workflow format anyway (AVI or HDV-MPEG) while it's working with it. Besides, the biggest quality issues will appear when YouTube starts screwing with it, which there's no way around.
Give it an H.264 file, and you'll get the best possible results.

    @Ney:
I asked for a unique feature/advantage and you gave me one:
The only thing that I can say right now is that looks and
play better then many videos out there...
Thanks and FYI I wasn't trying to find out your secrets...my
experience just didn't match dzedward's and its because my notebook
is is a 3yr old 1.7Ghz machine coming to the end of its life. The
issue was unrelated to my connection speed as its 18Mb down . And
the flv plays very well in VLC (with no dropped frames and, of
course, minus the sound). The flv (ratatouille) is well encoded,
and appears to have a variable bit rate so its not encoded using
the flash encoder (I wish I could do variable bit rate encodes!).
    As for regular
full motion HD over dial-up... forgive me for being
sceptical about that at this point, but I'd be happy to be proved
    wrong!
Your video is regular on2VP6F content so its not using a new
    "codec". Unless you
    compress and
decompress for example a video frame buffer of bitmaps in
memory then you cannot really claim to be using a new 'codec'
    because that's what 'codec' means.
If you have done that then I'll say right now that its quite
clever, even if it didn't seem to help me on my machine. If you
want help or advice for re-synching the audio please feel free to
ask questions. I have a couple of ideas that may help if you
    haven't already tried them.
One thing I have never been able to achieve is a very
accurate 'onEnterFrame' type event for a video frame (because flv
rate can be different to the swf rate). I can 'simulate' one
because I can check if the video frame has changed, but I don't
know of any native event that lets me know precisely when it does
(and I don't mean using FPS calculations and interval checks). If
you or anyone knows how to do that I'd be keen to hear about it -
for something completely unrelated to HD video I can assure
    you!

  • How can I play my High Definition .mts videos (taken with a Canon HF100) on ATV 3.  The videos are stored on my MAC

Exporting them into imovies takes too much disk space (i.e. 50 GB per hour)
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks

I had exact same problem wanting to play mts files i'd recorded on my HD video camera. I had about 45GB in mts formart.
I now use a program called Wondershare Video converter ultimate. You can tell it to save them in various formats Apple TV being one of them.
Really easy to use and if like me you have 5 or 6 (or more) shorter recrdings of the same event you can merge these into one file for a longer length movie clip.
Really easy to use and well worth the money it cost. (only about UK £45)
..... in fact just read you message again and you have the exact same camera as I do!

  • Hauppauge 1445 HD-PVR Gaming Edition High Definition Personal Video Recorder

    Hi,
I recently just purchases an HD-PVR Gaming Edition from Best Buy so that I can record gameplay from my Xbox 360 and make videos with them. I tested it out at home and it works fine but I wasn't too happy with the quality and the fact that I had some issues with the software that come with it. For others it works fine but it didn't with me. I wanted to know whether or not I am able to return this product to best buy and get a refund so that I can buy another capture device. The product is brand new and all the cables are in mint condition. The software CD is in mint condition as well as the capture device itself. I have only recorded with it twice (2 hours worth of footage). Please let me know of my options!
    Andrew A.

Put everything back in it and pack it up how you found it. Don't tape it up cause they will have to inspect it befpre giving you your refund. Take Your recepit, your card(If used) and Goverment Issued ID.
You have 30 Days or 60 if Premier Silver Member from purchase date.

  • I rented a movie in high definition but cannot play it.

Can I return it to get the low def version? Time is ticking as I tried to view it and it started the countdown even though I cannot watch it.  Tells me my monitor is not compatible.  What to do?? :-(

All you can do is contact iTunes, no guarantee.

  • Record movie from Canon camcorder in high definition?

I would like for Quicktime Pro (7.6.2) to record high definition (HDV) video directly from my Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder via firewire. I noticed that QT will record regular DV when I switch the camcorder to the regular DV mode, and it recognizes the presence of the camcorder when the camcorder is set into HDV mode, but I won't record video (it gives the error msg "Recording failed because no data was received"). iMovie '08 will record video from the camera in either DV or HDV modes. Does anyone know a way to get QT to record high definition video from this camcorder? Is there a plug-in that might work? I have already installed Perian.
[My ultimate goal is to enable a third party program called LabChart to record HDV video, which uses Quicktime to capture video, while also recording data from the USB bus. This is why I can't just import HDV with iMovie, since it can't sync the video to signals coming in via USB}.

With HD being the new standard, do you imagine that they might make QT able to acquire HD soon? Seems that since it plays HD, it should be able to acquire HD too. thanks for your help!

  • Flash video scaling

I've made a flash movie which is 1024x768 px and in first
    frame i've placed
FScommand fullscreen & allowscale actions: so when
    resolution is 1024x768
movie is in its original size, but when resolution is
    higher/lower movie
    stretches/shrinks.
On stage is MediaDisplay component which displays external
    Flash Video (flv)
in its original size (use prefered media size option) ... so
    when resolution
is 1024x768 it is displayed in original size because stage is
    also 1024x768.
But when resolution is higher/lower, flash video holder
    (mediaDisplay
component) stretches/shrinks along with stage. When it
    stretches/shrinks,
video quality is degraded: jiggy, warped and smudged picture
    with crispy
edges, something like "nearest kin interpolation".
Example: Quality of stretched/shrinked video is similar to
    the quality of
scaled image that doesn't have "allow smoothing" turned on -
    image is poor
quality, jiggy, crispy and smudged when it is not in its
    original size.
Is there a way to eliminate this, like "allow smoothing for
    video"
    Thanks
    Luka

Depending on what movieclips/graphics you are trying to
preserve the dimensions for in the Flash movie you might be able to
achieve your goal by adjusting the parameters in the publish
settings in Flash (CTRL+Shift+F12, HTML tab).

  • Qmaster and Flash Video Encoder 8

Can I use Qmaster to set up a render farm to encode Quicktime movies to FLVs using Flash Video Encoder? If so, does anyone know where i can find the command lines samples to se up the Macs?

Pages 18 and 29 should be helpful.
However, it might just be easier to encode to H.264.

  • Authoring standard definition bluray video

Hello everyone. I downloaded adobe premiere elements 13 and have read portions of its manual that apply to my question. The manual suggests that standard definition bluray video can be created using the mpeg 2 codec. However, I tried but was unable to do this: I could only see options for high definition bluray video! Therefore, can someone explain briefly how this is done. I would also like to know whether or not the H 264 codec can be used to create standard definition bluray video and if so, what bitrate values are provided for this task. Finally, I would like to know what audio codecs could be used in creating standard definition bluray video?

    stevee12
    Thanks for the reply.
    Bottom line:
You can get an export to file from Premiere Elements that is said to be a H.264 Blu-ray file type (in earlier version MPEG2 Blu-ray as well).
Before export, the export settings can be customized for various settings including Frame Size 720 x 576.
The Premiere Elements burn to Blu-ray process is characterized by resolution to give 1920 x 1080 16:9 display. No user customization of the burn to presets.
    Further comments...
With regard to what you wrote (post 4)
it then means that standard definition video resolutions(e.g 720x576) can not be created on bluray discs by adobe premiere elements.
    True.
    With regard to
I am now confused because the adobe premiere elements manual states that mpeg 2 standard definition video of about 10 hours in duration can be written to a 25gb single layer bluray disc!
What it does not say is as what. Can be taken as
    a. You have a Timeline content of MPEG2 "standard definition widescreen - 720 x 576 16:9" and you burn it to a Blu-ray disc giving you the Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc (25 GB), giving the 1920 x 1080 16:9 display
    or
    b. You have a Timeline content of MPEG2  10 hours "standard definition widescreen - 720 x 576 16:9", and you export it as a file 720 x 576 16:9 which is saved to the computer hard drive. Then you burn that file to a Blu-ray disc as data disc with 3rd party software to get the file on the Blu-ray disc in the same format before and after the burn to.
I will see if I can find that quote in the program's PDF Help where I assume you found it.
Please let me know if you have questions or need clarification on this.

  • Poster for flash video

I inserted a flash video onto a site i am building but it has no poster how do i insert a movie poster on a flash video effectivly

Flash video alone doesn't cut it anymore.  There's a growing list of devices/browsers that don't support it.
HTML5 video is the way forward.  It has widespread  support plus it supports a poster frame image.
    <video controls poster="/images/poster-frame.jpg">

  • IDVD doesn't process AVCHD video and high definition RAW photo files

Hi everybody. I have a brand new Canon VIXIA HF S10 and 5D Mark II. I tried to make a movie out of video shot with the camcorder using iMovie and then I burned a DVD with iDVD. I also made a slide show out of RAW photos made by the 5D. And I encountered such a situation when the movies I made seem to be missing some frames. For instance people move discretely instead of smoothly as in the original video. As for the photos they come out not to be of high definition and don't fit to the whole TV screen. I mean if I burn the photos to a DVD in Jpeg they look perfect. I set all the setting to HD but still get poor quality.
Have anybody dealt with the same situation or I should try more professional soft like Cut pro or DVD pro?

IDVD can't process AVCHD. I use Toast to do that. Import your pictures or slides into IMovie and export them via Quicktime if you want 1920x1080 or via browser if you want 720P. Than you can us the browser in Toast to create a DVD in AVCHD. It will play in a blu ray player but NOT in Mac OSX. You will need to use Native Windows via Boot Camp and a Blu Ray player in your mac if you have one. Otherwise a Blu Ray player in you TV system should work.

  • High Definition Video on MacBook Pro 13.3"

Hey guys...can't seem to find the answer, despite my best efforts. Can my MB Pro (bought brand new a week ago) appropriately display High Definition Video? In all it's glory? I have a HD copy of the movie Up, and it looks gorgeous, but I haven't been able to find any documentation or reliable info that states without a doubt whether or not its a feature of the machine I bought. Thanks!

I understand the concept that the Macbook Pro's with anything less than the 17" screen cannot display the full HD screen. However what if in my case it is connected to an external monitor. Is there a way to display High Definition thru the laptop onto my 32" TV, or does this still require the use of the 17" MacBook Pro?

  • AVCHD / "Advanced Video Codec High Definition" & Cheap cams & Linux?

    Hi!
A customer of mine seems to have his mind set on the general awesomeness of the "Advanced Video Codec High Definition". I can't seem to understand why anyone would want to have a multi-track video editor work with that random assortment of specs - at least as long as it's coming from a (relatively) cheap cam...
So my first impression: "The cam costs significantly less than 20000$ and therefore the video quality can't really get noticeable worse if one just converts the video files with ffmpeg to whatever '60 minutes of video per CD' format it sees fits".
Am I wrong / missing the point? Do you have any experience with "Advanced Video Codec High Definition" cams & archlinux / gnu software etc that should concern me?
    Thanks!

So... does that mean, that usually the cams just encode with one of those "generic-jpeg-intel-codecs"  (or don't compress at all) and the client-side software (that isn't used on a linux platform anyway) or something else does the rest? Or what would be a realistic / common scenario?
Also: for someone who didn't pay much attention to "video standards" in the past, just to understand the general principle... which one of the following two is closer to "the truth"?
    (a) To ensure high video quality, it needs to be taken care of that in every step between the camera recording the raw video and burning the finished / rendered "movie" onto a portable medium, the software & hardware is capable of working with the advantages of "AVCHD".
    or
    (b) Someone obviously has been going around putting AVCHD-stickers on random objects and telling people to buy only those. If one just ignores those stickers, everything should be just fine.
And finally: Does anyone have a cam that says its "AVCHD" and used kdenlive or something & other open software to do a DVD of some sort? Was everything in between manageable with a "normal modern desktop pc" (no highend hardware)?
It seems to me like you are looking for some documentations so go there http://www.vcodex.com/h264overview.html and skip to the section 4 "h264 in practice"
Basically h264 advantage is for the same video quality, your clip takes much less space (or for the same space it will have better quality). But it will need more power to decode/encode.
Even a "low-end" camera like for example the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 (one of the best compact I think) offers 9Mbps, 13Mbps or 17Mbps when you record AVCHD. With those bitrates a "generic-jpeg-intel-codecs" will be okay. (actually the generic-jpeg-intel-codecs on the cam is a dedicated Digital Signal Processing chip aka DSP chip)
proposition (a) everything capable of working with AVC/h264 can work with AVCHD, it's just a marketing name, there is no special features.
Ensuring high quality is another beast, online guides and common sense help: the less you convert (colorspace for example) or reencode, the less information you will lose.
    (b) AVCHD just means the cam can record in h264 instead of DV or Motion Jpeg.
For your final point, beyond a bitrate of 3Mbps dual-core Core 2 Duo CPU feels really sluggish when encoding to h264 but they are good enough to encode to dvd/mpeg2 format. I can't say about kdenlive/openshot/cinelerra and other NLE though, but every open source NLE can work with AVC-HD (via gstreamer or ffmpeg).
Like Gusar asked, it would be great if you can tell us your workflow.

  • IMovie '08: Movie to Flash Video (FLV)?

    Hello,
Long story short, I sent some the below directions to a co-worker on how he could export an FLV from iMovie '08... but he told me that he did not have the "Movie to Flash Video (FLV)" option. Do the below directions not apply to all copies of iMovie '08?
    1. Go to menu: "Share" and choose "Export Using Quicktime"
    2. From the "Export:" drop-down, choose "Movie to Flash Video (FLV)"
    3. Click the "Options" button, and use these settings:
-- "Profiles" tab: Choose "Flash 8 - Medium Quality (400kbps)"
-- "Video" tab: Leave as default settings, but change "Max data rate"
to "464", and "Key frame intraval" to "6".
-- "Audio" tab: If your video has audio, choose "Encode audio" and set
the "Data rate:" to "48 kbps (mono)"
-- "Cue Points" tab: Leave at default settings.
-- "Crop and Resize" tab: Choose "Resize video". All videos should be
set at 480px width... So, if your video is 720x480, you would scale it
to 480x320 (4:3 ratio). 1920x1080 would scale down to 480x270 (HD 16:9 ratio.)

    Your thoughts?
    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Micky

Exporting QuickTime to Flash Video (.flv) requires a complete install of Adobe Flash software ($$$).
QuickTime 7.4 has ended support for Flash Video inside QuickTime containers and you may run into other issues with the Adobe component because of this.
The free Perian component did allow import of .flv into QuickTime Pro and export to QuickTime formats. That too has ended in version 7.4.
Cheap way would be to upload to YouTube and let them convert and create your .flv file. Then just "borrow" the Flash Video file by opening the direct link and saving using a browser.

  • Capturing High Definition Video

When importing high definition video into iMovie HD 6 the last 1.5 to 2 minutes of my movie were not captured. When importing HD video the capture speed is less than real time and thus the video that is running on the camera is ahead of what you see on the computer. I stopped the camera - NOT the import - at the point in time where the camera reached the end of the footage I wanted to import. At this point in time iMovie displays a message indicating that is continuing to cache (import) the rest of the movie - which it did. If you stop the the IMPORT - then my understanding is that the video captured will be essentially stopped at the point you see on the screen.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Kurt

Maybe you should try using the Scene-Detection Feature in imovie.
