Shared Variable through the internet

We have a remote site that is running LabView to record some data. Currently we can log on to the computer using VNC (remote control software), we use a static IP address with a port number that connects to a gateway that uses port forwarding to get to the machine of our choice. Doing that we have control of the whole computer, but the transfer of anything is slow and the screen refreshes about every 5 seconds or so using a low (64) color setting, using full color is almost painful.
So the latest idea is to be able to send data from the remote system and display it or save it on a local system. The idea would be that only data is being sent which should be faster since we would not have to worry about transfering graphics and other stuff.
I have been playing with shared variables all day and searching the forums. From what I have read it sounds possible, but I have not been able to do it yet. I am wondering if there is a problem with the port forwarding. I have tried tools > shared variables > register computer, but it has not helped. Is there any good detailed instructions on how to use shared variables over the internet? I do not have any VI's to share because I have been using the help vi's.

Let me know if I understand your problem. You are trying to remote into a computer using VNC over some sort of network to gain access of a VI that is running on that machine.
The problem is that the computer you are looking at is updating slowly. Is the VI collecting the data returning the correct values at the correct rates?
Have you thought about using Remote Front Panels? If you are just trying to access another VI on a computer on the network, I would try this. You may also want to check out the Web Services, which is new for 8.6.

Yes. You will need to enable file sharing on your Mac Mini (via Sharing in System Preferences) and then you will need to port forward all your ports (since I don't know exactly what file sharing method you will be using) of your Mac Mini via the AirPort Utility.

Local mac-to-mac transfers goes through the internet connection (very slow)

Transfering files from my iMac to my MacBook Air (or the opposite way) over my local Time Capsule wireless network is extremely slow. I connect to my MacBook Air using my local username account on that machine (which is the same as on the iMac). When I click on the connected MacBook Air again (under shared in Finder’s left column) it says I'm connected as [email protected] (my MobileMe address). Transfers then goes with around 50KB/s which is the same as my outbound capacity on my internet connection. If I disconnect the internet from the Time Capsule I get transfers around 2.2MB/s.
I can’t actually log in as a local user on my other local machine. It goes through the internet no matter how I log in. Back To My Mac is even turned off on both machine.
How can I fix this?

You actually are close enough to their 3meg down that you can't complain. 2.8meg down and 700kb up is fine, unless it's supposed to be their FIOS that is.
Sounds like it is the site(s) that are slow, like these boards at times.

How to connect to an other computer through the internet

Please who can help me with Desktop Remote control and connecting through the internet. I know a lot is written about it, but it is still confusing.
So try to explain my situation:
I have an MacBook pro with Desktop Remote Control 3
The other computer:
Apple PowerBook which is connected through and Thomson Speedtouch (wireless 716)
External IP address xx.xx.xx.xx
Internal IP address 192.168.1.66
No firewalls
My questions:
How do I check if my Thomson Speedtouch the ports 5900 and 32?? are open?
How can I open the ports on the router? Do I have to open the port on the router?
Then on the MacBook Pro, I start up ARD3
How do I scan for the computer on Internet? Do I use the external IP address?
How can I then connect to the Apple PowerBook? I cannot fill in the second internal IP address or do I?
I hope someone can help me.

I opened Network Utility. Went to the last Tab "Port Scan"
I typed in: external IP address (i got this through the Widget SysStat which shows external IP)
Than I gave up scan between the ports 5890 - 5910 to check if those ports are open or not. I had to way for a moment, and then the result was: "Port Scan has completed....."
Ok, what do I know know? The ports are open or not?
So please can someone help me with the following:
1) What should the result show me from Network utility?
2) Opening the port, this has to be done on the Router or is it something the Internet Service Provider needs to do?
3) I still have the question: how can I open the port, so with what application.
4) What are the exact ports which needs to be open?
5) About bridging in the router, does that have a special name. I didn't see in the router configuration program an option like that? When searching --> this is configured: A. Router-modem (NAT/PAT) - is there something special with NAT/PAT?

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

I can read/see PDF files that are attached to an email, but I can't see/read them if they are embedded in an email or sent through the internet.

I have a similar problem. I can open, read, and save PDF files, but I can't view my online bank statement on my Mac. The statement opens automatically if I use a PC, but on my Mac the page says I need Adobe Reader to view my statement. I already have the latest version of Adobe Reader. The problem seems to be that that the plugin only goes to the Libray. It doesn't get installed into Safari or into FireFox either.

Streaming advertisements to TV-screens through the internett

Hi,
I am currently opening up a shop. In this shop we have 6 different TV-screens, which will run all of our advertisements and offers.
These 6 screens is split up in the following way: 2 in front, 4 on top.
The two first are going to show the same images/advertisements, so will the top 4.
My question is if Adobe has any programs can run and distribute/stream these images to the TV-screens through the internet? Does Adobe Primetime work this way for instance? And why is it not included in Creative Cloud?

This has nothing to do with Adobe. You need a suitable video splitter hardware.

You can connect from an Oracle client to any Oracle database in the world that meets certain requirements.
First you need an open network connection between the two points so either no firewall exists between the two stations or the firewall(s) have been configured to allow Oranet traffic. This means both databases must have access to the Internet and certain ports are open.
Second you will need the IP address and port for the remote listener, which in turn must be up and running on the target server.
Then you must have the Service Name or SID and a valid username/password combination for the target database. Plus the username must have create session privilege.
That should be about it.

Problem with activating Cuda Premiere Pro CC (yes, I've read through the internet before)

So CUDA is kinda getting me one more time in trouble. The first time I had to search through the internet to get to the information how I can activate CUDA by writing my graphic card name in the file where the supported graphic cards are listed. Interestingly my card was already listed and still I was not able to activate CUDA. After a few more hours of internetresearch I finally made it and could run Premiere "CUDA-supported".
In the meantime another strange issue occured: Sometimes CUDA is working and sometimes it's telling me that it's not. In the most cases a restart is enough to be able to "reactivate" OpenCl. So how can I activate CUDA (or at least OpenCl in Premiere constantly instead of temporarily?
Note: I looked everytime if a graphic card update was available, rarely I updated the graphic card but in most cases there was no update available.

An hour ago I've talked to someone in the adobe support Chat until I've lost the connection and after reinstalling my NVIDIA Driver and deleting my old settings, it's currently running and it let me choose between CUDA, OpenCL or only software.

Windows XP activation through the internet

I haven't used my Windows in quite a bit. I forgot whether I have or have not installed the drivers. I'd reckon I have... most probably. Either way, there's no way I could check it after the 30 day grace period is over... and I can't get into my Windows XP at all.
So, I'm trying to activate it through the internet... but I can't. I thought the problem might be because I'm counting on a protected wireless connection... so I tried using cable, but my Windows also still says that there's no internet connection detected.
Are these the only two workarounds to this problem:
1. Call up Microsoft so I could activate my Windows.
2. Reinstall Windows.
Is there no way I can get internet detection at all, at this juncture?

I believe that you may not have installed the drivers. Did the internet ever work with your windows installation? If yes then you installed the drivers. If you never checked or it never worked then you may not have installed them.
Regardless of that, if you have an authentic Windows product then you can make a 10 minute or less call to Microsoft and get your WIndows activated. This will allow you back on the Windows desktop and then you can install the drivers and get on the internet. Without the installation of the drivers the internet connection will not work.

I noticed that I can access the page but without having the control panel of the labview !!

I am not quite sure what you are asking. When you say “publish my NI logic,” what do you mean by that? Are you creating a web service and trying to control it via your phone’s web browser? We have the Data Dashboard app for Android that might be what you want.

You cannot do it from a PC. There is no applications that will make a PC access AFP files. You cannot connect to the TC with SMB due to blocking of SMB by ISP as it is insecure.
The only way to do this is replace the current router with vpn one.. and use vpn from the remote computer to the router. The TC will be connected by bridge to the router and can be accessed by SMB ie windows networking.
