Sharing the calendar of iPhone

how can i share my iphone calender with my friends? can  i do that or i cant?

The basic iPhone calendar function is designed to sync with a desktop computer when you sync your phone through iTunes. It's fairly basic. However, the iPhone supports a variety of wireless calendar and clould-based calendaring solutions.
By far the easiest is to use Google Calendar, though Apple's own MobileMe (soon iCloud) can perform a similar function. You can create one or more calendars in Google calendar and have them appear on your phone. Entering an event on your phone will automatically update the Google calendar, and you can access the calendar through web browsers and calendaring apps (like Outlook and iCal). You can choose to share any of your calendars with your friends or make them public, and you can control on an individual basis whether they can see only free-busy time, see the details of items on your calendar, or if they have permission to modify the items on your calendar.
Google provides two mechanisms for using Google Calendar:
Using Google as an Exchange server
Using Google as a CalDAV service

  • Shared calendars are working, but have suddenly started prompting for login info of user who shared the calendar

My boss started having this problem this morning. It may possibly be due to an update. The calendars appear to still be working fine (not 100% sure they're
getting new updates) and I've tried deleting them and re-adding them and the problem persists. Outlook will pop up the Security prompt asking for login credentials, with the username of the person whose calendar is shared pre-filled in the user name section.
If you click cancel everything continues to work but it prompts you again in a few minutes.
These calendars have previously worked perfectly with no issues.

    Hi,
Please confirm if there is any changes in Shared calendar account and your boss mailbox.
Since the issue occurs after the update in your Boss's computer, please reboot the local machine. And recreate the Outlook profile to have a try. About opening shared calendar in new profile, please open the shared calendar by the following steps:
    1. Switch to Calendar pane.
    2. Click Open Calendar > Open Shared Calendar.
    3. Click Name to select the user who shared the calendar to this user.
    4. Then click OK to open the Calendar.
Check whether there is any error when open it. If there is any permission error, please check the folder permission in shared user side.

  • How do I get the calendar in iphone 4 to synchronize with Outlook 2010 calendar on my PC?.

My iphone recently stopped synchronizing with the calendar on my PC. It was working fine but not now. Any suggestions for correcting it?

Is it still set up to sync?
Is it simply not updating, or is none of your calendar information on the device?

  • How to add events to the Calendar on iPhone in iOS5

I've got a 3Gs and upgraded to iOS 5 this morning.
When I access my calendar on the iphone (iCal) I can't add any activities/events to a particular date (in month view). There used to be a + sign when you clicked a date, which is gone now. I tried tapping, double tapping on the date itself, but also at the bottom where it says 'no activities' on a no-activity day.
I also tried rebooting, but with no result.
    Anyone any ideas?

I somehow managed to get it to work again.
I connected the iphone again with itunes and chose to synch the calendar with the ical on my macbook. This imported all calendars from the ical on my macbook to my iphone. And suddenly the + button was back again.
Also, the tapping on a date to add an event works now. Not sure what or why went wrong the first time, but fortunately it's working now.

  • Why can't I get iCal from my MBP to sync to the calendar on iPhone 3GS?

I can see all the different activities I have on iCal on my MBP but I can't see them on my iPhone 3GS?  I use iCloud and the setting for calendar is turned on.  I also refreshed my iCal and then refreshed the calendars on my iPhone.  Any help is appreciated!  Thanks in advance.  Also, step by step instructions to fix this issue would be great.

  • ADDING WEEK NUMBERS IN THE CALENDAR OF IPHONE

    Hi,
haven't found option of adding week numbers on my iphone 3gs calendar. in working life week numbers are pretty important and would need the option on daily basis. i syncronise my calendar from office outlook / exchange. office supports the feature, but week numbers dont follow.
    any ideas anyone?!

I use Google calendar and sync it to my iPhone calendar over the air via Google Sync. There are a number of "gadgets" or sub-calendars you can add to your Google calendar (i.e. Moon phases, contacts birthdays, etc.) that will sync over to iPhone. I searched for week numbers and sure enough there is a "gadget" that will add this functionality with an option of weeks starting on Sundays or Mondays. Though I've never used them, I now have week numbers on my iPhone calendar.
You would have to set up a free gmail account to create a google calendar but you wouldn't need to use it (mail or calendar) except to sync week numbers if you don't want to. If you want to go through the (relatively) small amount of trouble to do this just start a gmail account and then follow these instructions: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
Except of course you will only turn on calendar. Then (on your MAC) go to your gmail and click on 'calendar' in the upper left. From there click on 'settings' in the upper right, then on the 'labs' tab. Enable the option to 'Add any gadget by URL.' Save this setting then go back to the calender itself and on the right where it says 'Gadget URL' paste http://sites.google.com/site/gcalweeknumbers/Home/calendar-gadget.xml
Then, on your phone's web browser go to http://m.google.com/sync and sign in with your gmail info. Bookmark this page. Select your device and check the boxes for 'My Calendars' and 'Week Numbers'. Now when you open the calendar app on iPhone tap 'calendars' on the upper left and you should see (yourname)@gmail.com (Exchange) with 'Week Numbers' listed below it. Make sure you are viewing 'All Calendars' within the app and week numbers will show up on the Sunday or Monday of each week.
I apologize if these directions are not clear enough or too wordy. I tried to describe it for someone without much experience with this stuff (meaning myself). It may seem like a lot of trouble, but if you really want week numbers you can do it!

  • Sharing Google Calendar on iPhone

If someone emailed me a Link to share their Calendar on my gmail account how would I set this up on the iPhone.
I have setup the account as a standard Gmail account - it did not add.
I have added the account as a Microsoft Exchange, and a CalDav account it still wont add, and I cant find anything to get this working.
I log in to google.com/Calendars and I can see the calendar any ideas?

Never mind on this. I found the issue.
I should have been configuring the Google account on the iPhone by using the "GMail" option instead of the "Exchange" option.

  • Sharing outlook calendar on iphone

I have an iPhone 5; my husband has a 4. We share his Outlook calendar as he gets various OT jobs and I have to schedule around them.
Lately, whenever he adds an OT job, it does not show up on my phone. The calendar is still on my phone, checkmarked and active. In fact, a recurring appointment does show up on my phone. But new OT jobs do not.
I am frustrated trying to get this to work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

*iPhone calendar views are a joke!*
My 90's Palm Vx had far more usable views via Pimlico Software. The gray scale display with poor resolution was able to show one or even two weeks with appointment texts.
What does iPhone have? List view is the best there is. One sees all appointments with only just scrolling. Day view is terrible. The whole day should be visible without scrolling for it to be at least somewhat efficient. Now one has to first select a day with arrows and after that scroll thru the day and after that select another day and scroll again. No way. Month view is very poorly designed! The grid takes way too much space and who decided to put the appointment list in the bottom of the screen when one's index finger blocks it if sliding thru days in the grid!!! Oh man!!! Unlock the landscape view and please make the grid a little bit smaller and please place the appointment list on the left or at least on the right side. And make its font way smaller! No point in seeing two appoinments without scrolling.
iPhone's wonderful screen would be able to show one or two weeks with written appointments in a list like manner especially landscape. I mean seven columns titled Mo-Su and all appointments listed in that day's column.
Hopefully SDK will let someone else do it if Apple won't.
And we have to get to copy appointments and paste them to other days also. I am spending 30 min writing the same info one at a time to our monthly plan. Everyone else is already having a cup of coffee.

  • Sync SHARED Outlook calendar with iPhone (possible fix!)

    Hey all,
My business uses a shared calendar in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Our personal calendars sync fine. However, the shared calendar does not appear in iTunes.
POSSIBLE FIX: If you create a local copy of the shared calendar by clicking and dragging from Public Folders to Calendar in Outlook, it will appear in iTunes and will sync.
QUESTION: How do I automate this process, so that a local copy is created whenever the shared calendar is updated?

    1. Apple has removed sync services in OS X Mavericks. Therefore, you cannot sync Outlook 2011 with Contacts or Calendar.
    2. Apple has removed the ability to sync through iTunes in OS X Mavericks, so that, even if you use Contacts and Calendar on the Mac, you can only sync them with your iPhone through iCloud, thus exposing all your contacts and calendar information to the mercies of the Web.
    3. Microsoft does not not support CalDAV and CardDAV in Outlook, so there is no way to sync directly through iCloud, except perhaps by setting up a Microsoft Exchange account.
    4. Apple makes it extremely difficult (virtually impossible) to revert to a version of OSX that is earlier than OS X Mavericks once Mavericks is installed.
In short, we are screwed and neither company seems to care.

  • How to see weeks in the calendar on iPhone 3GS?

I want to see weeks in the iPhone Calendar.
    How can I do this?

Just turn it sideways (Landscape mode)

  • Sharing yahoo calendars on iPhone

How can you get subscribed calendars to show up on your iPhone calendar

Let me try to explain what I am doing and see if it will help.
I have two iMacs, one for me and one for my wife. We have the family plan. I also have an old PC laptop and an iPhone. I have MobileMe set up so that my iCal calendar can be viewed and updated on all of these. The one factor that is missing is that my wife does not yet have an iPhone.
The key to getting all the units to work together was setting up the sync options correctly. In the MobileMe preferences, sync, advanced you would set up all the computers on the master MobileMe account. In my case both iMacs and the PC. Note that you can individually check each item you want to sync (e.g. iCal, Address Book). On the master account pick all that are going to be used on the other computers.
On the other computers, you log on the MobileMe preferences as the master account. Pick only the items to be synced on that particular computer. The advanced screen should show all the computers you are syncing through MobileMe.
I believe, but can't prove, at this point you should be able to have your wife's iPhone synced to her computer through iTunes and that should give her the same iCal calendar on her phone and she should be able to update it.
I would appreciate it if you would let me know if this works for you as I anticipate getting my wife an iPhone in the near future and I would like to know if this process will do it.

  • TS3999 Can iCal participants "see" who I'm sharing the calendar with?

I want to share a calendar with two people but don't want them to "see" each other. One will be read-only, if that matters.
Is that information visible to all participants?

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.
