Could anyone guide me in how I could go about creating a slide where users can either email a file or upload it to my server?
Any help would be greatly appriciated...

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
I am not sure how you can Upload a file, you might need a Javascript.
You can create a slide and a button of that slide can call the default Email client (MS Outlook, Outlook Express....)
    1) On  you Slide insert a button (Insert -> Standard Object -> Button
    2) Double Click on that button and select "Open URL or file" for On Success (Under Properties Inspector)
    3) Write "mailto:[email protected]" in the URL box (For Example : [email protected])
    4) Publish the result, when you click on the button, it will call the default mail client.
    Screenshot :
Note : This might not work if you have a Network Security which do not allow calling Mail Client through a Script (Clicking of Button calls the script)
    Thanks,

  • Sharpness slider has disappeared

I've been using Lightroom 5 for a few months, I noticed this week that when in Develop mode my Sharpness slider has disappeared. The drop down for all options in Develop are open, but it has disappeared as one of my options (except under the adjustment brush). Can anyone help?

'Sharpening' sliders can be found in 'Detail' panel on right track of Develop module. If you can't see the 'Detail' panel then right click on header of any other right side panel and reactivate 'Detail' from the drop down menu.

  • Slideshow Background Music Adjusting Slide Where Music Starts?

I've been trying to make a slideshow with music attached and can't find a solution to this problem anywhere. The problem is as follows. I have imported all my pictures and I've imported 5 music tracks, everything okay so far. However, I want to start the music tracks from slide 6, I want the first few to be silent. So, I pin the start of the first music track to slide 6. The problem is part of the second music track now automatically places itself over slides 1 to 5 and whatever I do I can't stop it doing this! All I want is for the 5 tracks to play in sequence but starting on slide 6. I hope someone can help me, it must be an easy solution, but I can't find it. Thanks, David.

Wouldn't it make sense that if you have a number of tracks and drag the start of the first one, that all tracks would move back accordingly and stay in order? Why would you want the gap filled automatically by one of the later tracks, I don't get it? Is there perhaps an automatic setting that causes this strange behavior and that I can switch off?

  • Sharpness of Photos in Lightroom 5.3

Can anyone please provide an explanation as to why my pictures when edited in Lightroom 5.3 appear soft and seem to require too much sharpening for an acceptable screen view.    When pictures are subsequently made ready for printing from Lightoom 5.3, they then appear over-sharpened when previewed.          Lightroom 5.3 does not seem to show screen images at the same level of sharpness as the supplied RAW processing software supplied by Sony for my A7r camera.      Images loaded directly into Sony's own Raw processor (IMAGE DATA CONVERTER) look tack-sharp having been auto-edited with basic default presets within the programme.
I have invested in a high resolution monitor and this is kept regularly calibrated.       LR 5.3 knows it is dealing with RAW files from my Sony A7r because the Metadata transfers efficiently on import.
If I do any other photo work on my computer (WIN 8.1 64bit), all my pictures look acceptably sharp.     When loaded into LR 5.3, they always seem to require more sharpening to look the same.     Often the sharpness slider requires to be pushed to 100-120 in order for the picture to look correct........
Have I missed some important set-up procedure when installing LR 5.3?         How can I ensure that Sony RAW files look presentably sharp following basic standard preset importation (with the sharpness slider settling to about 25)
Some help with this vexing issue would be appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance.

Your comments and those of others appreciated.
2 things to report since my last communication.
    a)    I am now reasonably sure that the rendering of sharpened screen images within LR 5.3 do not display correctly when referenced with the amount of overall detail applied.       This is because images exported out of LR 5.3 and then viewed in a different photo viewer look so much better.
    b)    By fortunate coincidence, I have now downloaded and installed LR 5.4 and my very first impression is that some improvement in the sharpening (detailing) facility has been incorporated.      I will work with this new version of the programme further before considering a further judgement.
Very best regards and thanks to all.

Forgive my naivety but I feel I must make beg the question, 'why isn't the sharpening facility within LR 5.3 as efficient, effective and straightforward as it is in RAW processors such as SILKYPIX and SONY IMAGE DATA CONVERTER?           Within these programmes, the sharpening added to RAW files by basic default.......which I understand to be known as 'capture sharpening......is usually just right.
There could be a number of things going on that are affecting what you are seeing. The onscreen preview image inside the editing application may be using different scaling algorithms to make the image "fit" in the loupe window. If they are using the simpler and faster nearest-neighbor or bilinear algorithms they will appear sharper (i.e. LR Develop module preview), but on closer examination will also exhibit interpolation "jaggies." along straight edges. I also believe the editing applications you mentioned do not apply noise reduction to the preview image, which may also make the image look a bit sharper.
Run a quick test by applying Sharpening to a raw image at 1:1 view so that it appears cirtically sharp when viewed at 1:4 Zoom in the Library module. Next Export the image to 16bit TIFF, ProPhoto RGB profile with NO Image Sizing and NO Output Sharpening. Using the same raw file Export the image to 16bit TIFF, ProPhoto RGB profile, but with 1:4 Image Sizing (i.e. Long Edge = 1/4 raw file long edge in pixels) with Output Sharpening = Screen Standard. Next Compare the 1:4 resized TIFF export image at 1:1 view to the other two images at 1:4 view so they are equally sized. Let me know what you see.

  • Dynamic sub-topic slide counter in Captivate 7

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me guidance on the following routine that i would like to implement using Captivate 7.
I would like a front-end menu selector slide to dynamically count how many slides are allocated to each of the sub-topics so that it can 'show' when all slides have been completed topic by topic.
I envisage puting a pre-loaded topic selector onto my master slide, so that when you load a new slide into the filmstrip, you would choose from a 'dropdown' as to which topic this slide belongs (this dropdown would not be visible in runtime)
This way, when i enter the package in runtime, I can use the system variable to count how many slide are in the total package, but when i get to the menu slide, it will have dynamically counted how many slides are alloctaed to each topic before i enter the topics. Once the total amount of slides allocated to a topic have been completed, the menu button will indicate this.
It is the sub-topic dynamic counting part of this query that i am having trouble with.
Thank you in advance for any assitance you can provide on this matter.
    Craig

    Hi Lilybiri,
OK, Captivate has a system variable that calculates how many slides are in a total package, but, for example, my package is broken down into sub-topics of:
    Colours
    Animals,
    Cars
    Flowers
    etc ....
When I am developing the content and I add a new slide from my Master template, there will be a dropdown menu (not visible in runtime) from which I select which topic this new slide belongs to (ie Colours, Animals, etc ......). So I can do this for all new slides added to my package. (Probably a variable set for each slide which will be 'Slidetopic = Colours' or 'Slidetopic = Cars')
When I finally run the package, I will have a 'Menu' slide where I can choose which sub-topic I want to visit, but I wan Captivate to dynamically count how many slides are there allocated to 'Colours', how many are set to 'Animals', etc, etc .....
This way I can then determine exactly when I have completed the 'Cars' topic and change the menu button to indicate this fact.
Upon initial entry, I would suspect my menu screen will display information such as:
    Total slides  = 40
    Colours = 12 slides
    Animals = 8 slides
    Cars = 14 slides
    Flowers = 6 slides
It is the dynamic counting of the sub-topic quantity where I am hoping that someone may help me.
Does this make my ambitions any clearer Lilybiri ?
    Thank you for your interest.
    Best wishes,
    Craig

  • Project freezes every time at same slide position on mobile devices.

(Using Captivate 6.1 on Mavericks running in 2014 iMac. This project contains 32 slides, some with audio (played using the advanced action for Play Audio), and some without, and it works well on desktop Mac and PC. It is published as SWF/HTML5, and the link from the webpage points to the multiscreen.html file.)
In spite of working smoothly on regular desktop computers, it's a different story in mobile devices. When tapping on the smartshape arrow button to advance to the next slide (from slide 5 to 6), the button's appearance changes to show that it's in the down/clicked position as expected, but it stays there and doesn't return to the up/unclicked appearance for anywhere between 3:11 to 3:30 on my iPad 4 (on an iPhone 4 running iOS 6 the screen doesn't advance even after 20 minutes). The slide doesn't advance to the next screen or go back to the previous one. Instead, the browser freezes (tried in Safari and Dolphin on tablet), meaning it won't go back, forward, add a tab, view another tab, etc. After the 3:00+ time period, the button that was in the down position completes the clicking action/sound, and then the browser and slide work properly. I can go back and forth over the problem location after that with no more freezing.
The consistent slide location where the concern occurs seems to suggest that it's not a broadband connection issue (or the delay would happen in other slide positions also). In trying to fix the problem, I deleted the slide where the problem was occurring, but the slide that filled in its vacancy (slide 6 became slide 5 after the deletion) caused the same problem. This leads me to think that it's nothing in the specific slide content causing the issue, but that it has something to do with the 5th slide position. The slides that were in the number 5 position have either text-only or a .png file, and the same smartshape navigation buttons as all the other slides so they don't use more resources than anything else. But, the temporary freezing acts similar to when something is hogging the resources of the browser. It doesn't hog the device resources though, because I can quit the app, or go to other apps during the freeze with no problem. But, after the initial freeze is passed, then there is no more delay at the problem-point or anywhere else in the project.
This pause isn't okay, because users will quit the project if they have to wait that long to advance to the next slide.
I'm at the end of my knowledge and ideas, and need help. Is there anything that I can try to remove this delay from mobile apps?

Sorry this is so wordy. Just hoped to give specific information so a savvy person reading it could know how to help.
Any ideas with the intent to help will be sincerely appreciated.

  • Multiple buttons on a single slide each connecting to a different url

Using a trial version of Captivate 7.  I have a handful of slides where the customer wants to open different forms via url.  I tried using a button for each link, inserting the url and using the "enter" key for each of the multiple buttons.  Works fine with the mouse but for 508 folks who tab to the URL and hit the enter key ......... I get many instances where the incorrect url is activated.  Is there a way around this without assicning a different shortcut key for buttons where thare are more than one on a single slide?     Thanks

    Welcome to AD!
Here is an article on using multiple ipods. I suggest method 1 and steer clear of method 3.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495
For your point #1, sharing music on same PC between users, put it in a shared library & set permissions as directed here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203
For #2, itunes doesn't have the capability to monitor folders for new content. You'll need to get something like the free program 'itunes folder watch'.

  • Resetting a slide upon reentry

is there a way to reset a slide on reentry so you're not in the middle of a activity. i know in storyline you can  either pick and option to reset the slide (if someone uses the back or forward buttons to get to that slide again) or start from where the slide paused.
if you finish a slide that had a game or activity, if you hit the back button to go back to that slide it doesn't reset the game it just shows you where you last left off.
    any suggestions

I'm always resetting with an advanced/shared action triggered On Enter for a slide, where I expect to be returning. When you return to the slide, it will return to the first frame (not where you left), but objects that have been shown/hidden, variables that have been changed will remain the way they were when you left the slide.  Have multiple examples on my blog, those situations have to be taken into account when you analyze the scripting.
As for the learning interactions: they are automatically reset when you go back to a slide. I don't know what you mean by 'game'? If it is a custom game, you have to take care of resetting yourself.

  • Is there any way to print my Keynote slides in two columns on a page?

Is there any way to print my presentation slides in two columns on a page? thanks

You can do this through the Print dialog when you go to print your slides. In the dialog, click the dropdown menu that says "Copies and Pages", and choose
"Keynote". Here you can use the "Handout" settings to put multiple slides on a page. This option will leave some space beside the slides, where the notes would go.
Alternatively, in the same dropdown menu, you can choose "Layout". In the panel that appears, you can set your output to print multiple pages on a single sheet of paper, and arrange them how you like. If you are set to print slides and not handouts, this method will print multiple slides, without spaces for notes, on a single sheet.

  • Master Slide Body

Is there any way of placing two body boxes in a master slide?

I'm not sure this is the solution. By making a second text box (assuming the first one present it because the "body" item is checked in the Master Slide inspector), you're not making a duplicate "body" style text box with the same attributes (font, size, bullet style, etc.). Yes, you can customize the second, added text box to look like the "body" text box, declare it as a text placeholder as you mention, and return to the regular slide. Now you have the dummy text in the second text box ALWAYS present while the first, "body" text box has the "click to change" text and would be hidden if the slide where placed in slideshow mode with no user text added. At the same time, however, the second text box you created in the master would show the default text you entered in the master, that is, it would NOT be hidden in the slideshow. So, if this second (or more) manually added text boxes, declared as text placeholders, are added to the master slide, be sure you truly use them in your original slides based on that master or your dummy text will appear in your slideshow.
Wow, long comment...but I too am trying to learn why I can't add many "body" style text boxes to the master slide. Unfortunately, PowerPoint 2008 for Mac has Keynote beat with its multi-content style layout element. I'd love to leave PP behind and go all Apple, but I can't without this feature equally and easily available in Keynote. Maybe v.5.0.3? Or at the very latest, the version is iWork `10.

  • Trouble using my sharp aquos as a display for my PB

I have a 1 GHz Powerbook G4 with 512 MB DDR SDRAM running Mac OS X 10.3.9. I have recently purchased a 32" sharp aquos LCD Television with the intent of being able to hook up my power book. The sharp instruction manual tells me to hook it up with a DVI cable (as well as a mini jack for sound). I purchased a mini dvi to dvi converter thingy and connected to the LCD (I have not used a mini jack since I thought that would only affect the sound and, for now, I just want the picture).
There is a compatability chart in the sharp manual that gives me three mac options; 1) 13" VGA, 2) 16" SVGA, 3) 19" XGA. I do not know what these are refering to so I chose the 13 " option. It tells me to adjust my resolution to 640x480, Horizontal Frequecy (which I cannot find) to 34.9 kHz and vertical frequency to 67 Hz.
Although my power book recognizes the sharp LCD, I get no image on the television. I called sharp customer service and, aside from verifieing that I was using the correct input channel, they couldnt help me.
I am about a millimeter from returning the television unless someone can help me!
    Thanks.

I have the Sharp Aquos LC32D7U and have tried connecting my 15" PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz to it using a DVI cable. I don't think I got a cable with a mini DVI to DVI converter--the plug is the same on both ends and fits my PB and the Sharp LCD either way. Anyway, I'm having the same trouble as you. My PB recognizes the Sharp LCD as being connected, but the Sharp displays a black screen. The input info on the Sharp LCD screen shows "---X---" in the upper right corner where I'd expect some sort of connection information and below that "--Hz" as though nothing is connected. Incidentally the sound works fine through the Sharp using a stereo mini plug. I've tried adjusting all my monitor settings from resolution to Hz and have tried mirroring and not mirroring. Nothing works, although my PB clearly thinks it's displaying on the Sharp because, when mirroring is off, I cannot access the Sharp LCD video setup options since they're displayed on the Sharp LCD where I can't see them.
I wonder if it would be possible to use a DVI-HDMI adaptor and connect the PB to the HDMI input. Have you tried that? I'll be curious to hear how it works, or if you have any other ideas. It certainly is frustrating. If I come up with any solutions, I'll be sure to let you know.
I'm keeping my Aquos regardless of whether or not I get it to work with my PB, since it fits perfectly into a wall unit I'm housing it in and it's primarily used as a tv anyway.

  • Copying a slide to the clipboard?

I want to copy a Captivate slide to the clipboard so I can
edit it in a graphics program. The documentation first says:
Adobe Captivate provides an easy way to copy a slide to the
    clipboard. Then the instructions say:
To copy a slide to the clipboard:
    1. Open an Adobe Captivate project in Edit view.
    2. Select an image on the slide that you want to copy as a
    bitmap.
    3. Select Edit > Copy to Clipboard as Bitmap.
    4. .....
How do I copy the entire slide to the clipboard as a bitmap
in order to edit it, and not just an image on the slide?
    Thanks.

    Hi there
Yep, you sure can! Insert a Highlight Box object. Configure 0
for the frame width and 0% transparency. Here's where it gets cool.
Click the color chooser, then the eyedropper and lift the color
from the field. (Sometimes these are an odd color, so this helps)
Now size and position the Highlight Box to cover the
information you wish to hide. Once that is done, copy this to the
clipboard. Here's where it gets even cooler! Choose all the
remaining slides where you want to hide the info and paste. Whoosh!
The Highlight Box is pasted in the EXACT location on each slide.
    (no futzing with placement!)
Now all you have to do is visit each slide, right-click the
Highlight Box and choose Merge into Background.
This should accomplish what you are doing with editing in a
    different application.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Video looks great until converted to swf; leaves junk on slides

I'm using Captivate 5 in TCS3 on XP.
This is my first attempt at doing videos.  I'm pretty happy with the end result except that there are shadows of widgets on slides where they shouldn't display.  For example, there is a faint outline of text boxes and drop-down lists on slides that don't have them.
I suspect that there is some sort of setting that must be set when I generate the .swf, but I don't know what it is.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion.  I did as you suggested and started by turning off all compression and gradually adding it back in. For me, selecting the following settings worked and left no "ghosts" on the video:
Compress Full Motion Recording SWF file
    Retain Slide Quality Settings
Thanks again for all of the assistance.
