SHEET CLEANING, ix7000

To avoid what I just went through, check to see if you already have the cleaning sheets. They apparently came with my printer and are located in an obscure drawer. Pull out the bottom paper tray, turn the tray so the right side is facing you. Look for a 5" wide, shallow tray near the front. I pulled it out while on the phone with a technician and found 5 sheets. I used 2 in the Sheet Cleaning mode (in the printer utility screen). FYI: The window prompt instructions are misleading about paper position. Feed it LANDSCAPE (or wide) position with the notch in the top right corner, adhesive facing to the back. See drawings on that obscure drawer.
Summary of my experience: I called Canon yesterday after the Sheet Cleaning alert automatically appeared after a preset number of prints were made. After the alert comes, you have to hit the RESUME button before every print job until the Sheet Cleaning is performed. Enough of a pain to get this taken care of quickly.
Well, since I couldn't find any part number or detailed info on this in any online manual or forum, I emailed Canon through their website. Their response: "The cleaning sheets are available for purchase through our Jamesburg Parts Department. You may call them at (866) 481-2569 between 9 am and 7 pm ET, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). "
I placed the order for 2 sheets at $2 each plus $6 shipping and received it next day. It was literally 2 flat sheets in a 24" x 16" x 12" box, 99.99% airbags! Anyways, It would've been great if someone at Canon could've told me that I might already have the sheets. Now I'm working on getting a full refund on my $11---it's on principle.

Problems with style sheets

I switched to Pages about one year ago because I then found that style management was easy and straightforward compared to Word. I updated to Pages V2.0 in January and since then I have been annoyed with the new way style sheets are managed.
In V1.0, when copying / pasting text from Word to Pages, styles would not been copied leave the style sheet clean.
Now, when copying / Pasting text from Word to Pages, the whole Word style sheet is copied in Pages (whatever paste option is used) messing everything around
I believe this is a bug but I did not get any straight answer from Apple support. Do you face the same problem? Does anyone have a work around?

actually it will indeed be the easiest to remove the Word styles when you're finished with your text.
You should be aware that Pages will ask you for a style to replace the one you're deleting, if that style is still assigned. If you Paste and Match Style, this shouldn't be a problem.
I wouldn't number Pages styles but use a prefix, e.g. "pg_". This will still keep the sorting you're probably now used to. A prefix is also usefull if your Pages styles use numbering (text style) since Pages automatically adds a number in front of the style name. This could lead to some confusion.
Additionally, you should, as suggested by dwb, send feedback to Apple and ask to change the behaviour of Patch and Match Style.

RH 11 v11.0.2.240: Cleaning up an External Style Sheet (CSS)

Hello,
I am in the process of trying to clean up a CSS for an "old" RoboHelp project. I believe the CSS contains many unused styles that were probably "trial & error" styles, but were never deleted when they failed to produce the correct format. I know it doesn't do any harm to leave them in the CSS, but I really don't want them around!
I did not see a report in RoboHelp that would provide this information, but before doing a search for each individual style using a program like Agent Ransack, I wanted to see if anyone in the Community had any clever ideas as to how to accomplish this task.

I can't say I've had this issue. But then again, I never use the CSS property inspector to create an external style sheet. I just hit File > New > CSS. I add my CSS rules and Save it to the local site folder.

How to clean line items

Hi,
This is in 11.5.10.2.
For Balance Sheet review/clean up of GL Accounts, we are facing following Problems.
When we query a particular GL account the number of lines fetches are more than 6 lakhs line items due to which we are not able to extract complete dump .
The data Extracted is not getting classified into open and cleared items (Clearing) at GL level and therefore the data line items are enormous. Can you suggest something in this regard as to how to proceed further? IF you can share the methodology being adopted by any of you, it will be a great help.

Can you please try the following query? I'm not sure were are you keeping the data that indicates that the lines are not adjusted so i included the JGZZ_RECON_STATUS field but you can adjust the query to your needs.

Program error when Making Contact Sheet from Bridge

I had been making contact sheet from the bridge using CS3 with no problem till a week ago when after completing the contact sheet, I get an error message saying that there was a program error, and photoshop locks up. I have to force quit. I am using a G5 dual 2.5 and 2 Gigs of RAM. I tried reinstalling without any luck.
Any ideas?

Why do I have two CSS sheets? Should I merge them? How?

As I've been working on this site, I simply copied pages by 'saving as' to make the next page, since they are very similar and use the same text sizing (except for one which has become the 'black sheep.')
Now, after the fact, when the site is basically done, I see there are two CSS files associated with this site, I only made one to start with 'base.css'. Now there is also a file called 'base_sample_pgs.css' which I did not, knowingly, make.
I want to clean up the site and resolve type font sizing issues on one of the pages, and while I've heard of designers using separate CSS files for fonts, colors, etc., which is a great idea for very large sites, I'm thinking it would be best if I had only one CSS file for a small site like mine with only a dozen or so pages. I'm thinking two CSS files are the cause of some conflict already with font sizing on one of the pages.
What do you think? Should I merge the CSS into one file? Would it help diagnosing problems? If so, what is the best way to do this?

OK, I'm looking at your capabilities.html page and there is a reference to only one CSS style sheet:
<link href="base.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Then you have some page-specific CSS that follows.
If what you are asking is whether or not you ought to pull the page-specific stuff into your base.css file, that only matters if you are using exactly the same styles in all pages. You can define different types of pages in 1 CSS style sheet, like a three-colum and a two-column layout and that works just fine. But you can also choose to have one stylesheet for the three-column pages and another for the two-column pages. Additionally, you may have a completely separate style sheet for just your menu (I have that on lots of my work).
The question for your question is, which is easier for you to manage?
In the case of many of my menu stylesheets, it is much more sensible to keep those style sheets separate from the main page. I think in terms of navigation when I am in them, I think in terms of general styles when I am in the other style sheets.
I have also seen some professionals use one style sheet to define text styles, another to define page layouts and a third to define menus. All that is completely dependent on thought process.
So this is "answering a question with a question," but what I am trying to do is get you to realize the answer in your own thought process.

I'm fixing a Numbers document that I use in business daily that's become overly complicated, but while I want to clear/delete a number of cells in it to clean it up, I'm not sure if those cells are being used as source for other formulas on the page. I don't have to open all my formulas one by one to see if that cell is in there, do I?! That'd be a huge amount of work if I wanted to eliminate say 10 cells to search each formula on the page to see if it is in there or watch all the cells when I delete that cell to see if the numbers change! There's got to be an easier way! Right click doesn't seem to be any help.
I don't want to damage my daily tool to make it cleaner and reorganize it. Is there really no way to do a reverse look-up of which formulas a particular cell is in?! Any time I click on a formula it highlights all the CELLS in that formula. Why can't I (or can I?) do the reverse and see all the FORMULAS that contain a particular cell?
As a Numbers document ages or gets used frequently, you can sometimes forget which cells are tied to which formulas. You just look for the results of your formulas. Would be a nice thing to be able to do. Thoughts? Work-arounds? Answers?

Answer would be no unless application provided such feature. Numbers does not as far as I know.
Note that even if you have complete list of formulae used in a table, identifying formulae referencing any given cell is not simple.
E.g., cell T20 is referenced not only in
=T20+1
but also in
=SUM(T)
=SUM(20:20)
=SUM(S19:U22)
=OFFSET(S1,19,1,1,1)
=INDIRECT("T"&(10*2))
In order to identify such formula, we have to actually evaluate it to see if it references the given cell. Especially such formula as OFFSET() and INDIRECT() may not be found by static parser because their parameters can be dynamic.

Is there a way to collapse and expand a whole table within a sheet?

I have sheets where I'd like to keep many tables all within the same page, and each table has quite a bit of data in it. Is there a way that I can collapse a table and then expand it to accomodate the need to stay within a page? Also, changing the content scale is not a solution I'd like to go with as it would require me to keep all tables visible-- I'd like a cleaner look to each sheet.

In a table you cannot drag up or to the left past the final occupied cell. Of course you can make the table bigger.
Yes that would be a nice feature for sure.
The folks on these Discussion boards are as yourself end users not Apple employees. Please accept my following suggestion: at the top of your screen to the right of the blue Apple please click "Numbers" > "Provide Numbers Feedback". This makes your request known to the Pages team directly. I've sent many as well. I've sent many as well.
Let's hope that the next version of Numbers (iWork) will incorporate many of the requested enhancements.

How can I make an Excel Sheet where I can tally my daily activities and make a graph of it?

I want a simple excel sheet where in the columns I can have dates and in the rows I can have my activities and in the spaces between I can put a number like 1 or 2 or 5 indicating the number of hours spent that day on that activity. Finally, I would
want to be able to, using the hours data for the entire month for each activity, be able to create a pie chart breaking down how much time I spent on each activity.
The issue is I do not know to rename rows and columns and I do not know how to format it all to ensure I can make a pie chart at the end comparing all of my activities.
Any help would be appreciated.

Laserjet 4 with 600 sheet ad on feeder not working. Springs or rollers?

I have a Laserjet 4 that is the closest thing to a bomb proof printer. It's slow and old, but just demands toner, rare roller replacement, and cleaning.
I bought a 600 sheet feeder off of Ebay that the printer sits on top of. It worked for two years, but now I get paper jams when the printer tries to suck a sheet out of it. The printer works fine sucking out of the tray built into the printer. It's as if the sheet is not getting into the printer from the 600 sheet feeder.
Can someone tell me what rollers need replacing, or is it the spring that holds up the paper in the tray? How can I find out what parts I need?
HP support has not been helpful.

Iu2019m trying to create service entry sheet for a service PO but all the item level fields in ML81N screen are appearing in display mode (non-editable) also I cannot see the u201CService Selectionu201D button. So Iu2019m unable to insert/select the service detail and cannot create the entry sheet. If I use the menu path Edit->Service Selection, still cannot adopt services and system gets busy for a substantial period and eventually timed out.

Service PO: Intangible good that is the subject of business activity and that can be performed internally or procured externally (outsourced).
-     Services are regarded as being consumed at the time of their performance. They cannot be stored or transported.

How to clean all airport connections and start setting from the begining

I made some mistakes setting airport and now i cant get rid of thosе setting to manage my connections "from the clean sheet". How to delete my network settings?

If you are referring to the wireless network settings on your Mac computer, it's a two step process.
Step One
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
Open Network
Click on AirPort on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
Click to highlight a connection in the list
Click the - (minus) button at the bottom of the list to delete the connection
Repeat as needed for other connections
Step Two
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utiities
Open KeyChain Access
Locate a listing with name of the wireless network and click to highlight it
Click delete
Repeat as needed to delete all networks that you don't want
If you have an Apple wireless router and are referring to the wireless network settings on that device....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click on the Wireless tab just below the row of icons for the settings page
Click Update after you have made the changes that you want

Inkjet duplex printing -- okay to print on blank side of previously printed sheet?

I have a new F4580 Deskjet with manual duplexing. I would like to recycle paper by printing on the blank side of previously printed paper.
Is it okay to print on the blank side of an inkjet-printed sheet? How about a laser-printed sheet?
This means sometimes loading the printer with used paper rather than new, clean paper.

What browser are you using? Try downloading a PDF if one is available, or try printing from XCode's Deveoper Documentation window.

Flex builder 3 - clean build

I am having problems with Flex builder 3 not building
correctly.
It does incremental builds - to reduce compilation time on
individual changes I assume - but quite often gets it wrong and
produces a whole stack of invalid errors.
I've tried the build clean function but that doesn't seem to
actually perform a full build clean. It only resolves these issues
some of the time. I can mess around with the code - deleting and
then un-deleting lines that are throwing up errors, or sometimes
renaming the main style sheet - which usually fixes it. But this is
a constant drain on my productivity and sometimes no amount of
messing around will help. In those cases only exporting the entire
code base and creating a new project resolves the issue. (I would
guess because this forces a completely clean build)
Does anyone know of a way to either eliminate this problem
alltogether or failing that perform a full clean build through the
builder.
I'm guessing a customised any build script may be the
solution, but I've never created one of these.
