Shelf life expiration dates for finished goods

Hi,
Is there any opportunities with in SAP to block the finished goods once it reaches the
self life expiration goods AUTOMATICALLY.Our business requirement is particularly interested in this requirement.ONLY FINISHED GOODS,BLOCKING AUTOMATICALLY.
UPON EXPIRY OF SHELF LIFE EXPIRATION DATE.
With regards,

Hi Charu Bela,
Thanks for your reply.
I checked your reply and found with OMJ5 settings for movement type 101 in production goods receipt,if material master data is maintained in Shelf life details in plant storage, then production date field will prompt.
Moving forward,Once i give the production date here for any finished goods, then,I believe system will calculate the SLED (Self life expiration date ) automatically, right? accordingly system will block these finished goods.
Also,In ware house management how these kind of materials are handled? Is there any specific transaction codes in WM?.
Also,If you know specific tables for SLED ,Kindly help to understand.
Your answer is appreciated.

  • Disable Shelf Life Expiration date for Movement Type 311

    Hi All,
Whenever we run the transaction MB1B with the movement type 311, it copies the batch and its shelf life expiiration date. Due to this, there are time when the user unknowingly enter a differrent SLED and hence change the batch unknowingly. We want to stop this. We want that while we are doing 311, the batch record and the SLED should get copied from the batch master BUT the field for SLED should be grayed out or the user should not be abale to enter ANYTHING in the SLED and the system should take the default SLED from batch master. Can we achieve it through config ? Please suggest.

Please get a user exit developed and add it to the program SAPMM07M which is used in MB1B which will solve your purpose. The User exit should be fired when using 311 movement type during copying of Batch Characteristics. Hope this helps you.

  • Shelf Life Expiration Date - SLED

    Hi Experts,
Is required to mange the material master in batch management for activing the shelf life expiration date.
Can you briefly give the exact idea about shelf life expiration config settings and master data settings for gettin SLED.
We want to active SLED for in-house and external procured material.
    Thanks in advance
    Vikas

    HI,
You mean say that wthout batch management, SLED cannot be activted, right??
It does not mean that , for activate the SLED for the plant need the batch management.
you can activate and use the SLED for the materials for your plant.
so when ever you do the GR for the material, system will check the expire date and if life is ther then only system alow to do te gr

  • Shelf life expiration date.

    Dear All,
I have one query regarding the batch management.
For materila XYZ in the material master,storage1 view I maintained the total helf life as 365 days.
But the shelf life is different for different plants.
For example for material XYZ for plant ABC the total shelf life is 365 days.Where as for plant ABC1 the total shelf life is 325 days and for plant ABC2 the total shelf life is 255.
How can I fullfill this requirement. Is there any way the SAP provides to satisfy this requirement.
    Thanks to all.
    Rgds,
    Babu

there is no plant specific total shelf life in a material master.
    Your scenario is not possible.
Maybe you can achieve it with a Z-table and userexits to determine this plant specific.

  • Packing Material with Batch Management and Shelf life expiration date check

    Dear All,
I created a packing material and activated batch managemnt with shelf life.
At the time of GR the batch should be created automatically or if i want to create a batch manually for some materials how to do it in the system.
                         Help me

Before going ahead with the batch creation,
you need to activate the batch mngmnt level (i.e.Client,plant,material level)
    And also activate the Nor.ranges.
Then Create the Classification,Characteristics and assign the Chrctstics to Class.
    Then create the batch
    T Code:
    CT04 create Char.
    CL02-Create Class

  • Batch Classification for Finished Goods

    Hi,
Can anybody explain me the significance of maintaining batch classification data for a finished material?
Currently we have batch management active for all the finished materials but for some materials we have not maintained the classification data.
When I checked the batch data in MMBE it shows me the Production date & Shelf life expiration date based on the values maintained in the material master.
The class type is maintained at the plant level as 022 with characteristics as Last Goods Receipt & Shelf Life Expiration date.
I want to know what impact will be on the distribution of these materials if I do not maintain the classification data?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abhijit

    Hi Ravi & Lakshman,
Thanks a lot for the response. I understand what batch classification is & how it is implemented to use in coordination with Batch Determination. What I would like to know is what if the batch search strategy & class type (022) is defined at the plant level and  batch management for a finished material is active but classification data is not maintained. GR (101) for this finished material is possible but does this mean that not having classification data will not have any impact on the goods movement of this material?
In case of production when the classification data is not maintained for a back flushed material (raw / semifinish), after the process order confirmation the 261 movements end up in COGI with reason Enter Batch. Since the selection criteria fails due to the unavailability of classification data; the batch needs to be selected manually instead of the system picking up the correct batch automatically.
Like in inventory (consumption of raw & semifinish) do we have batch determination & search strategy for distribution where the finished stock will be picked up for the sales orders based on the selection criteria & sorting rule?
    Thanks & regards,
    Abhijit

  • Return Stock -shelf life expired goods processing

    Hi Mates
*Iam maintaining all the materials in Batches.
*My scenerio is when customer returns the goods, matrerails has to posted to seperate storage location. This we have done.
*But when customer returns the shelf life expired material iam unable to do PGR.Only then after changing the Date of MFG in transaction MSC2N iam iam able to do PGR.
*But my requirement is if iam selecting return stock storage location system should not check whether that goods are shelf life expired or not.
*Customer will revalidate the goods and change the date of mfg accordingly.
Kindly do the needful.Thanx in advance

The problem is that the section of the program (QA07) that blocks the stock  runs first.  Therefor all "expired" stcok within the time frame specified is moved.  When the program runs the section to create inspection lots, it will only take into consideration stock that is in unrestricted stock.  Since the stocks have already been moved to blocked stock, there is no stock in unrestricted inventory and hence no inspection lots.
In your case, in the section "Batch status change when expiration date is reached"  you need to untick the "Block batch" and remove and values iin "Initial run in days" in this section.
In the section above that tick on "Block batch at inspection date" and maintain a value in "Initial run in days".
This will have the effect of creating lots when the next inspection date falls within the window specified and will move the material to blocked stock on the inspection date.
Keep in mind that this is all working on the "Next Inspection Date" of the batch.  Not the expiration date.  So you should have a process to keep the next inspection date and the expriation date in sync.
To cover yourself and make sure that batches are blocked if the expriation date is reached, set up QA07 to run again immediately after the above job.  In the varinat for this run, tick back on the "Block batch" and set a value in the "Initial run in days".  This will then block any stocks missed in the inspection lot creation process above.
Also see the folowing threads which explain the deadline mointoring program.  There is a lot of info on this process on the net.

  • STO delivery should not happen for shelf life expired material

    Hai all,
When we are doing PGI for STO-PO. shelf life expired material should not do the delivery. The system should give the error message. but in our system when we do PGI the shelf life expired material is deliverying.
how do we maintain the error message when we doing PGI.
Edited by: hemanth s on Sep 12, 2008 9:37 AM

    Hi,
In Inventory management there is a which helps you "Set expiration Date Check". This allows you to make sure that the shelf life of the material is checked before delivery.
In Material master, you would need to enter relevant information in the "Plant Data/Stor. 1" tab page (Min remaining shelf life, total shelf life). Also in IMG settings, you need to activate the check for both Plant and movement type. The path is as follows:
IMG Settings > Material Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Goods Receipt > Set Expiration Date Check. TCode: OMJ5
    Cheers.

  • If Excise invoice required for finished goods.

    Hi All
I have doubt, whether excise invoice is required for finished goods or not. As I am trying to create MIGO doc for PO of finished material, and it is saying, no excise invoice possible for finished material RG1.
    Can you advise please.

    HI
Thanks for this. When we are executing Utilization transaction J2IU, it is giving dump after prompting popup with  'Data will be lost PLA NCCD B35', 'No record selected , excise invoice cancelled'.
Run time error is saying -

    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "J_1IRUTZ" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE', was
    not caught and
    therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
The call of the FORM "DETERMINE_DEFAULT_VALUES" is incorrect:
The actual parameter no. 2 is at PERFORM not compatible with the
structure type requested by FORM "DETERMINE_DEFAULT_VALUES".
The FORM "DETERMINE_DEFAULT_VALUES" is defined in program "SAPMJ1II".
This error occurs in Unicode if the fragment view of the types is
    incompatible.
Can some one suggest if we need to apply any OSS NOTE.

  • PO for Finished Goods with Tax Code - Inventorise

    Hi All,
Our Client is procuring Finished Goods from Domestic Vendor & Excise Duty is paid to the Vendor for that i am defining the tax code in PO. Over here For the Finished Good in Tax Code it is not capturing - (Condition Type - JMO2). I have checked it in PO for ROH, HALB tax code is working perfectly with (Condition Type - JMO2). I like to know will it work for finished goods or not. In J1ID i have maintained Excise Rate.
I had followed the following steps.
    1) Material code- Chapter id maintained in J1ID
    2) Vendor code excisable in J1ID
    3) Maintain condition record in FV11 for the correct validity period
    4) Check the PO creation date whcih should fall between condition record validity period
Every thing is maintained i have checked it Thoroughly fot this particular material i am not getting it. This one is a finished goods material.
I am not able to identify what is happening.
I will give the flow so that you can help me out.
    1. Created Material - Finished with all views except - Classification, Forecasting,
    Work Scheduling & QM
    2. Create Info Record - Tax Code given
    3. J1ID - Chapter ID, Chap ID with Material, *** Val for Mat, Vendor Excise Detail, Excise ind. for Plant, Excise ind. for Plant & Vendor, & Excise Tax Rate.
    4. FV11 - Maintained till - 31.12.9999.
    5. FTXP - Tax Code is Maintained & it's working fine with other PO.
    6. ME21N - PO is done for Domestic vendor with Standard PO With no condition & With only tax code for ED & CST.
    7. In J1ID cenvat determination has been maintained.
Also the material type should be raw in material chapter id combination instead of RG1 even though the material is finished to take credit of excise it should be maintained as RAW .
Over Here if i see i am not able to capture (JMO2 A/P Eduty for Inven 0.000%) &
For Sale tax i have maintained it in FTXP as (A/P C Sales Tax Inv  NVV   12.500%  JIP1) but it is not appering in PO Tax code. I can See the sale tax is geting updated in Tax code for Inventorise if i give it with out ED in tax code. With ED it is not Appering in Taxcode.
Can you help me resolving the issue.
Once again thanks for youre help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    sapuser.

    Hi All,
Just give a check by entering cenvat determination table. System checks this by default for excise details. Enter i/p and o/p material as same.
Hope this will resolve you Problem,

  • GR posting date is being considered as Shelf life expiry date

Following settings made in material master:
In Purchasing view: Batch management check box ticked.
In Plant data / stor.1 view: (Shelf life data): Max storage period is 1, Time unit: YR
Min remaining shelf life:1, Total Shelf life: 365, Period Ind for SLED: D
    Following data entered in GR:
    Document date: 10.03.2011, Posting date:10.03.2011
In batch management tab of GR: Date of Manufacturing is :01.12.2010, SLED/BBD is appearing as 01.12.2011
While taking shelf life report (on 12.03.2011) for the said material following output is displayed:
Remaining shelf life             SLED / BBD
    -2 days                                10.03.2011
In  batch display (MSC3N) Shelf life exp. date is appearing as 10.03.2011 where as in GR document it is showing as 01.12.2011.
Kindly help where is the problem.
    regards,

    Hi,
    It is interesting.
I understood the problem but for getting solution, you have to get ABAPeru2019s help.
In calculation in report, the report date 12.03.2011(DD.MM.YYYY) is taken by system as 03.12.2011(DD.MM.YYYY) and SLED is as per GR document 01.12.2011(DD.MM.YYYY). So 1-3= -2 days. Now, for calculating SLED date, system is deducting 2 days (or you can say adding -2) in report date 12.03.2011 (DD.MM.YYYY). So this is 10.03.2011.
So in batch display (MSC3N), it is showing calculated date 10.03.2011.
Please explain it to ABAPer & debug it, you will get solution.
Before that try one thing. Check your user profile for date format. If it is MM.DD.YYYY, change it to DD.MM.YYYY, or vice versa. Then take report again , also check in MSC3N.

  • Batch shelf life expiry date at Plant level

    Hi All,
We have a requirement from the client to maintain Batch shelf life at plant level.
Current process: Batch shelf life expiry date is maintained at the global level.
Requirement: Shelf life data to be maintained at Global level and plant level both.We want flexibility to maintain shelf life both at Global level and plant level .
If any one has worked in this scenario then kindly throw some light to resolve this issue. And also let me know if we move ahead to maintain shelf life data at  global n plant level then which all the area it will get effected in other stream reagrding shelf life best before date.
This is very critical requirement from client prospective as we have legacy system involved like LIMS & COREDB.
Your valuable input will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks n Regards,
    Vikas Soni.

    Hi Vikas,
A doubt out of your query,
How the expiry date is maintained Globally .
Whenever a GR is done then the expiry date will be tagged to the particulat batch & the expiry date is valid for the batch in the particulat plant. Am I right?
    Thanks & regards

  • Production date of finished goods

    Dear Experts,
How to check production date of finished goods products.
    wilson

    Hi..
what I would say that production date would be the confirmed finish date.. if you open any production order..there is a field for this confirmed finish date.. it is the field which gets updated when u do the GR of finished product...
Let me know if u have different requirement.
I think Prasobh seems to be more accurate to ur requirement...

  • Discontinuity and Follow-up Materials for Finish Goods

    Dear all,
We have used for a long time the Discontinuity functionality and Follow-up Materials for Raw and Packaging materials (components in BOMs).
We would like to use the same functionalities for Finish Goods, but after setting fields in MRP4 View, it seems not to work as it did for components.
Is it possible to reproduce the same effect in Finish Goods as we had with components, i.e., use some kind of Discontinuity and Follow-up materials for Finish Goods?
We currently work with R/3 V.4.7.
Thank you all in advance for any support.
    Best Regards,
    Alberto

    Dear Alberto,
If my understanding is correct then this discontinued material concept works only for the components and not for the finished
    product during MRP.
    Discontinuation Data Use
In MRP, the discontinuation functionality is used to transfer dependent requirements of a component to one or several follow-up
materials, if the requirements are no longer covered by stock. You can also define a follow-up material in the bill of material.
