SHelp me stop a video on loading webpage

I've imported a video to my library, added buttons for
play/pause/stop (actionscript) to the stage. The video should not
start playing before the user presses playbutton. How do I prevent
the movie from start playing on loading the webpage?

Thank you for the response! As you'll have noticed, - I'm a
newbie. I dont know which class im using. It seems that I've solved
my problem by adding the action 'stop' to the first frame of a
seperate layer. So far so good. What puzzles me now is that stop is
really pause. While I have your attention: In order to stop and
play from the beginning, should I use 'gotoAndPlay' from frame 1?

  • Stopping embedded video from loading multiple times

    Hi,
    just started using Edge Animate. I have some experience with Flash and After Effect so the layout is pretty familiar to me. I have no background in coding so I am very happy that it generates codes for me.
    My goal is to make a simple html5 site with links / embedded videos to my contents (500 and vimeo). I copied some codes used for Youtube embedding, sub'd the url with vimeo url, and it worked fine. I used a "play video" button on the main page to trigger loading the video page (see my code below).
    It worked great the first time I clicked the button and went to the video page. However, upon returning to the main page, and click the "play video" button again, a duplicate copy of the video is loaded right below the video loaded upon first click. This occurs for as many times as I click the play video button.
    Anyone knows how to fix this?
    Thanks
    Pako
    sym.play("VideoPage");
    var youtubevid = $("<iframe/>");
    sym.$("vcontainer").append(youtubevid);
    youtubevid.attr('type','text/html');
    youtubevid.attr('width','500');
    youtubevid.attr('height','375');
    youtubevid.attr('src','vimeo code');
    youtubevid.attr('frameborder','0');
    youtubevid.attr('allowfullscreen','0');

    Adjust the line
         sym.$("vcontainer").append(youtubevid);
    to this
        sym.$("vcontainer").empty().append(youtubevid);
    The addition of the empty() method is to make sure it clears out the container on successive clicks.

  • How do I stop multiple videos from loading at the same time and playing while looking at any article on google news?

    Multiple videos load at once and start playing creating sound mess and sucking up ram. This is happening on Firefox on both Windows 8 and Windows 7 machines. This started about three weeks ago. I have run Avast, malwarebytes, hitman pro, and other malware killers. A new youtube setting appeared in settings, I have unticked everything. The videos do not appear to be youtube based.

    You could enable plugins click-to-play. Also, set the plugins to Ask to Activate rather than Always Activate. I also recommend the extension "Click to Play per-element".

  • I have Hughesnet with limited bandwidth and even with adblock plus websites start flash videos now - how can I stop the videos from loading when the web page loads

    Hughesnet only allows us to use an allotted amount of download. If I use tabs on Firefox, some pages start their bandwidth eating flash yada yada and waste my allotment. I'd like to have Firefox default to NOT loading flash unless I do something to say OK. Adblock plus helps eliminate flash ads, but not page content that is in flash.

  • Stop Video from loading automatically...

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a VideoDisplay control that I want to play some video,
    however I want to control when the video to be played should load.
    At the moment, video is automatically loaded even though autoplay
    has been set to false. Stopping the video from playing doesn't seem
    to stop it from loading. Can I stop the video from loading at all?
    Thanks for your help,
    - Tony

  • Macbook is slow to load webpages and youtube videos are stopping

    I just recently purchased a Macbook pro, however, its been slow to load webpages, youtube videos, etc.  The youtube videos frequently stop playing and I have to reload the page.  Its not the connection and I havent had the computer long enough to have to clear safari chache.  WHY

    Sorry to bump this, but I'm having the same issue, though it's not a poor router problem (upgraded that hoping it would fix it).
    I tried the OpenDNS and it helped once, then stopped loading Netflix (Netflix, Youtube, and Facebook seem to be common problems, as well as "new" webpages that I don't go to often). If I connect directly to my Ethernet the internet works great. My iPhone connected to WiFi works great. It's just my Macbook pro and it just recently happened when I moved to my new house (I had the same ISP at an apartment and had 0 issues). Any thoughts?

  • IPhone using Mac Mini's internet connection sharing, stops loading webpages

    Bought an iPhone 1 hour ago.
    I'm sharing my internet connection to my iBook and MacBook from my Mac Mini. Works fine.
    Can't connect using the iPhone.
    It will detect the network, it will show full network reception, but it will only load webpages for the first 10 seconds and then stops.
    Tried removing the password, fixing a channel, resetting the iPhone (full reset), the "forget this network" trick, nothing worked.
    It will load web pages in the first 10 seconds of detecting my open network. Its highly frustrating...
    Any suggestions? Maybe using the restore option from iTunes instead of the reset ones from iPhone? Will this try to reinstall the latest firmware?

    Very similar case here -- I bought an iPhone just yesterday, set it up with internet sharing on my Mac Mini, and am getting random (but frequent) failures connecting via wifi. Small web pages can get through sometimes, large (or complex) web pages almost always hang during loading, e-mail pretty much never works.
    However, using "edge" works just fine.
    I've nosed around these forums a bit (and googled for this problem a bit), and it does seem like there are a number of users having this sort of trouble. However, some folks with this problem have noted that they can run wifi just fine at other hotspots. (I haven't taken my phone to another hotspot yet, maybe I'll try tomorrow...) And I've shared my internet connection to other PCs from my Mini successfully before. So, in my opinion, this problem does not appear to be an actual hardware fault in either the iPhone or the Mac Mini, but rather some disagreement between the settings chosen on both sides; my guess is that this'll take a driver modification in either or both to fix, rather than a replacement of either the iPhone or the Mini.
    Just my current guess, though.

  • Firefox stops loading webpages after sometimes, stopping all plugincontainer.exe doesn't help either, help!

    I downloaded Firefox4 and started using it. It stopped loading webpages after sometime, I checked the task manager and found out that a lot of plugincontainer.exe processes are running, I stopped them all but that didn't help either. Please help.

  • Mac Mini Stopped Loading Webpages

    Heres the deal:
    I have a late 2012 mac mini. OS X Yosemite. 10.10.1  I've had it connected to the same Comcast wireless modem for several months without issue. The past couple days the mini stopped loading webpages. It's like the internet is really slow. Sometimes it will load a page after several minutes. The internet/network works perfectly fine all all other devices in the house. Speed tests at 15Mb/s download on my phone. But heres the weird part, my Mac Mini works well when I wirelessly tether my phone's LTE to the computer, it loads webpages just fine. I've tried Chrome and Safari. I tried unplugging all the USB/Firewire cables from the back. I can't turn bluetooth off because of my mouse and keyboard.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Dean

    Hold down the option key and select the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar. What values are shown for the following?
              PHY Mode
              Channel
              Security
              Signal/Noise or RSSI
              Transmit Rate
    Please do not post the BSSID, as that information is private.
    Now hold down the option key again and select

    Compare the two-letter Country Code with the ISO code for your country. Does it match? The code X0 means that the country couldn't be determined. The code X3 means South America, not otherwise specified.

  • Stop, then reload required to load webpages

    I'm having a problem loading webpages. The page will stall until I click the stop loading button then click load again. For instance, the status bar will show that 21 out of 25 items downloaded but then hang until I stop the command and start it again. I've cleared out cache, reset Safari, but problem continues. Other browsers work fine. Any suggestions?

    Hi Eddie
    Sometimes, reapplying the 10.4.8 combo update helps resolve oddities in system files, possibly contributing to your situation. If you go this route, make sure you "repair permissions" after the reinstall/restart. Also, do not use your computer for any other purpose during the reinstall.
    Whether the above resolves the problem, the following helps with speed:
    Go to System Preferences>Network -
    - Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
    - Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Only Ethernet and Airport ought to be checked, unless you use a Bluetooth item. Move Ethernet to the top of the list (you can drag it) followed by Airport. Select "apply".
    - Back to the "Show" menu, select "Ethernet". Click on the TCP panel. There, enter 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (separate lines) in the DNS servers box and select "apply".
    Creating a personal location, plus adding the DNS codes seems to speed things up. Otherwise, the "automatic" function has a tendency to "search" for available locations.
    In the Finder, go to your Utilities folder and select "Terminal". Once the screen is open enter lookupd -flushcache and press return. This clears out the DNS cache. Once done, quit Terminal.

  • Photo Booth has stopped recording Videos all of a sudden??

    Hi all,
    on my iMac only 6 months old, all of a sudden after working fine Photo Booth today has decided to stop recording videos.
    The app launches, green light comes on and the picture/video shows, i press record and it counts down but the counter doesnt move although the picture is still there.
    Press stop and it loads a black screen and plonks it in the library thing at the bottom of the picture..  Very odd.
    I have trashed the Preferences and this does nothing,
    Have deleted the other videos so its not a space issue?
    Wondering if anyone else has the same thing???
    Any help greatly accepted,,
    Many thanks

    Does anyone know where you can get a version of Photobooth? I didnt have any disks of the OSX lion that shipped with my iMac?

  • Safari will not load webpages

    Safari will not load web pages. The browser hangs and stops loading completel and will not connect to the internet, even though I am perfectly connected to wifi...so I know it's not the wifi that's a problem. I have looked through multiple forums for troubleshooting safari to no avail.
    I know for a fact that the problem lies within safari SOMEWHERE, and since the only way for me to connect to the internet is through safari (i'm on a school network that doesn't allow me to connect to any other web browsers), I can't run any updates, reinstall safari, download any programs, etc.
    I'm totally stuck in a rut and I don't know what to do...help!

    Launch the Terminal application and copy or drag -- don't type -- the line below into the window:
    curl -I http://www.apple.com
    Press return. You should get several lines of output below what you entered, starting with this:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Is that what you get?
    Safari will not load webpages
    I figured out a way to drag the link into the terminal application, and I did get lines of output starting with HTTP/1.1 200 OK

  • Web browsers not loading webpages

    Overnight, a couple of days ago, my web browsers (Safari and Chrome) both stopped loading webpages. When I click on a link, I get a blank page. But when I am logged as a guest or browse through Vmware's windows I can still browse normally. Thanks for helping to fix this.

    Thank you Carolyn,
    I've got Sophos installed from long time ago. That's the only antivirus that is installed.
    Checking in firewall settings didn't help I think, cause even after desactivating the firewall temporaly didn't fix the issue in both web browsers.
    This issue is not discussed in Mac malware guide.
    Another detail, is that some web content will load like this discussion group or google search. But If I click on any item from google search, the page won't load.

  • Stop Looping in SWF Loader

    Hi i'm new to AS, I am trying to use the AS3 Loader class to
    pull in a SWF file that should only play once.
    How do I get this thing to stop looping?!
    Code is below.

    you must explicitly stop the video stream. if you're using
    the flvplayback class to start the video's play, you'll need to
    apply the stop() method to that class instance.
    you can access the main timeline of your external swf by
    referencing the content property of your loader (and casting that
    as a movieclip). from there, use the path to your flvplayback
    instance and apply a stop() when the playheadPercentage of your
    flvplayback instance reaches 100.
