Hi all!
Our client requirment is dividing Year into 2 parts
We have substitution variable &CurrMonth="Jan" and we need make calculations in the next way
Fix(&CurrMonth:&CurrMonth+3 month)
one type of culculations
enfix
Fix(CurrMonth+3 month:EndofaYear)
another type of culculations
enfix
Does anybody know how can I shift value of the month?
How can I get &CurrMonth+3 month?

I realized that I need 3 Substitution variables
&CurrMonth
&CurrMonth+3
and &CurrMonth+4
because I should divided Year in 2 parts and variable &CurrMonth+3 included in all of them

I am using BO 6.5 i would like to know is there any formula which will give last value of month in report.
Further I would like to confirm if the formula I am to use for Max and Min is correct as:
Minimum =Min([Q1].[ValueAvg] In ([Q1].[Parameter];[Q1].[Element];[Q1].[Date]))
Maximum = Max([Q1].[ValueAvg] In ([Q1].[Parameter];[Q1].[Element];[Q1].[Date]))
where Q1 is the query name.

If you did not back up your iTunes library, the short answer is no, as the iPhone is designed to delete the music data when connecting to an new computer / hard drive.

How to get the month value in a date?

I am retrieving a Date from the database using the getDate() method! However, I want the value of the month in this obtained result, which i want to compare with an integer!
I dont see any other option but to use the deprecated getMonth() method on this Date object! Or rather get the date as a String & apply the substring methods to get the reqd value!
Is there any other go on this?

Cumulate value at the Query Level

Hi.
I have a scenario where the user enters the value for Cal Month. With this the query fetches the value for a key figure for the month (based on last value exception aggregation on CALWEEK). Now with this user entry I need to also fetch the cumulative value (YTD) for the same key figure for all the months till the month entered by the user. Subsequent to that I have to calculate the average value of the YTD Value (Average = YTD Value/Number of months). I can not add another Key Figure for cumulation in the cube as there are many many Key Figures like this. Please suggest.

I am not sure I understand. I need to calculate both for the month and YTD using the same user entry - that is the month.
Basically the variable has to pass one value to the first column and a range to the next like this
User Entry = CalMonth (mm/yyyy)
CHAR Column 1 Column 2
value For the month YTD

Rolling 18months report based on the month prompt.

Hi All,
In one of the requirements in OBIEE, I have to create a report of rolling 18months. Now the challenge is that I will not be taking sysdate in here to calculate the rolling 18 months. I need to take the value of a month prompt on dashboard for calculation and fetch the 18 months rolling data in the report.
E.g: If the user selects Dec-2009 in the month prompt on dashboard, I need to fetch data from July-2008(which is 18 months from Dec-2009) to Dec-2009.
I will be passing the value of the month prompt in a presentation variable in the report, but can I calculate the 18 months prior month on the fly to put in the filter to fetch data? If yes, then how?
I have also created a calculated logical column in the rpd that calculates 18 month earlier date for each date. Now the question arises, how to use filter on this column so that it selects only the month which will be 18 months prior to the selected month prompt on the dashboard so that the data gets fetched for the report?

Another way I have done it is follows,
On my time dimension, which is at day level, for each given row (day) I derived the rolling period start date and the rolling period end date (which was always previous friday for a given day).
I created a simple report with the following :
Day, Rolling 6mth Start Day, Rolling 12mth Start Day, Rolling 18thmth start day, Rolling End Date.
With day 'is prompted'
In the dashboard reports, you use complex filters to say the day range you are interested in is between 'Rolling X Start date' (6, 12 or 18mth) and Rolling Period End date on the filter query created in the step above.
When the dashboard prompt Go is selected, OBIEE runs the filter query to determine the start and end ranges and these are passed to the dashboard requests to achieve rolling period ranges from a Date prompt. - Im pretty sure you could use a similar method but using a month selector prompt, rather than my day prompt - The theory is the same.

Do you mean to say that , once the user inputs the values for the month of Dec,after that , you dont want the user to change the values of dec which he had provided.

Get the values from Day 1 of the Month

I have a requirement in which I have to Get the values from Day 1 of the Month.
Ex : If I enter 19 - 07 - 2007.......the report should display Values from 01 - 07 - 2007.

explain the exact problem..? as you mentioned you want to create query to show values for current month and last 12 months.. so I think you want to show values for 12 months from current data.. you can achive this by multiple way..
you can have selection screen and field with date .. and restrict based on system current date and 12 months before or you can handle this at your target.. .. I mean there are multiple ways to restrict data by date range..

How to get the sales value of the last month in the quarter

Hi,
We have a requirement to get the "Sales" value against a quarter. We have 2 tables "Time" and "Sales". We want to display the Sales value against each quarter.
But this should happen as follows.
Consider quarter Q1 it should display the value of 3rd month, Q2 should display value for 6th month and so on..
If in any particular Quarter we dont have a value for last month then it should display the value for 2nd month, if 2nd month value is also not present then it should display 1st month sales value.
We are using excel as the database.
Please let us know if anybody has a resolution to this.

hi,make an other column which will be the flag for the last months you want to be displayed...
so ,in reports,you pass it as hidden column(by filter only the ones which have the appropriate flag),and then voila...

Periodic billing value is not dividing as per the months.

While mapping periodic billing plan-my requirement is net value 10,000 should split into as per the end date months. But if we see the net value in billing plan is multiplying with the months as per the year i.e.130,000/- is coming which is wrong.
But it should come as 10,000/12= PER MONTH VALUE .(NET VALUE IN CONDITIONS/MONTHS).
Can you guide me to meet the requirement.

My sales order value is 10,000/- which I would like to charge my customer for the coming 13 months service.
I have maintained the same in my condition tab (Second screen shot).
But if I see my billing plan the net value is coming as 1,30,000/-. Means it is multiplying instead of dividing.
My requirement is 10,000/13 =
But currently coming as 10,000*13=.

Conditional inventory value posting once at the end of the month.

Business Scenario : Our client is a service and facility services unit where in 97% of items are expensed at the time of the GR and assigned to cost objects.
However we have a requirement to track the inventory (stock as well value once at the end of month). For e,g we will do perpetual inventory for the whole month and do a stock take at the end of the month and post the value.
Options like UNBW/NLAG/OMS2 materials does not help as the value posting will happen once in a month but stock postings can happen on a daily basis. We are able to expense still take the stock for the materials but not able to post the value after a stock take at the end of the month.
We are fine for any exits and enhancements as long as it does not disturbs standard SAP.

Hi,
You need a custom table for storing material issue data and a custom program to run goods issue in the background at month end.
Create a custom table where store man can enter quantity of material issue with material number. Again let store manager check and correct it if anything wrong.Once store manage happy, then you can run automatic custom program ( which you can run only at the month end ) which posts the goods issue in the background taking data from custom table.

Last Month value for the keyfigure in Report

how do we get keyfigure value for the last month in the report.
for ex: for amount keyfigure should come for the last month rest of the key figures should come for the current month values.

It is not advisable to use offset to get the previous month value.This is not effective in the case when your current month is Jan & u have to get the previous year's dec month value.It is always better to opt for Exits
