Shipping from a Specific Warehouse

I'm looking for a way to have apps "intuitively" select a warehouse to ship from based on the customer's ship to address.
(e.g.) Product exists in PA and CA. Customer lives in PA. I want the product to ship from the PA warehouse.
Any suggestions how to make it happen?

The limitation with using a defaulting rule is that this is going to populate the warehouse on the order prior to attempting to schedule or check ATP. It will then try to schedule against only that inventory org. If there is not availability there it is NOT going to know that you have availability in another warehouse in the next state.
Ask yourself if this is what you want ... ie. it will only consider the default warehouse for availability and if you have huge stocks in the next state the system will not know.
What you could potentially do is set up a bill of distribution & use the Global ATP functionality ... although there's a lot of setup & maintenance if you have to do 52 states & more than just the US. In simple terms, this would check first against your default warehouse & if there is not availability there then it will check against the next priority warehouse defined in the Bill of Distribution. Suggest if interested you read up on this as it's pretty involved.
Back to the defaulting rule ... at the Customer Ship-To in AR you can define a Warehouse & set up your defaulting rule to use this as the first option. This assumes that your business process allows for the person creating the customer record in AR knowing the correct warehouse, but this merely transfers the issue from being one of order entry to one of customer setup. There is no standard way to have the warehouse default in the Customers Standard form.

We will need to begin selecting the Subinventory for orders shipped from the LAO warehouse. Can we make this a required field at order entry? If so, can we set up a default value at the customer level as well?
Please suggest me how to setup.

Subinventory is not an attribute of the header so you can't default to header and then from header to line, you have to do it directly to the line. You have 2 alternatives:
1) if this only relates to 2 or 3 key accounts you could create a validation template for each of these accounts:
Name = Cust1 Subinv
Attribute = Customer
Value String = Customer1 name etc.
... and a rule for each using the relevant template as a defaulting condition:
Source type = Constant Value
Source/Value = Subinv for Customer1
2) a PL/SQL procedure which looks at a DFF against your customer, picks up the subinv code and defaults that to your line. You need to reference the package name and procedure name from your defaulting rule. You'll probably need some tech assistance with writing this if you're not familiar with PL/SQL.

Picking from a Specific Warehouse Location (APIs)

Hi All,
I currently use the API calls listed below
-- wsh_picking_batches_pkg.insert_row
-- wsh_pick_list.online_release
to create a Pick Wave and release it.
With the parameters I use, all null except from Delivery Detail ID, the API calls search and pick whatever is available on stock.
What I want is to specify one location from which I want to pick. If no stock exists in that location I should get an error.
I tried using parameters p_pick_from_subinventory, p_pick_from_location_id but I had achieved nothing.
In the end of the processing lines in Shipping transaction form should have a status of Staged/Pick Confirmed
Any suggestions?

Current version is 11.5.8
We don't reserve anything in the Sales Order. We don't specify a subinventory.
Items are lot controlled and we are using OPM Inventory (We have OPM Manufacturing)
I tried setting picking sequence in stock locators form but It's not working. We don't have Oracle WMS intalled and probably that's where this field is used.
I tried setting Pick From subinventory and Pick from locator in call of wsh_picking_batches_pkg.insert_row. The Move Order is created with the subinventory and locator I am specifying. The problem is that if I set Autodetail Flag = 'Y' then the Detailing is done automatically and the process fetches quantities from the first available locator (Ordered by locator name) and not from the one specified in my move order.
Any suggestions on How to proceed? If I have to use API calls which APIs should I use to detail and transact my Move Order?

Non-config mbpr shipping from China and delivery times

So I purchased 2 macbooks in 2013 and both were base model 15" mbpr. Both of them shipped from the warehouse in the US. Have also asked my friends about their macs and all seem to have received theirs from the US. I just purchased the 2nd tier 13" mbpr - (2.4 i5, 8gb ram, 256gb) and the tracking says it is coming from Shanghai. Yes, I do know that most (if not all) Apple products are assembled in China I've also been told that specially configured models are shipped from abroad but mine is not the case. Not sure if this is the norm??
Also, has anyone had experience with how long it takes for the macbook to arrive?

TL/DR If your item has not arrived from Asia by 30 days after cleared payment, go to the Resolution Centre and open an Item Not Received Claim. If the seller cannot prove delivery, you will be refunded.

Item shipped from different location than specified

I'm not sure if it's worth leaving lower feedback over. Most of the time I leave really positive reviews, but the seller said it'd be shipped from New Jersey and according to the tracking information it's actually coming from Sweden. The item in question is a laptop battery. Shipping was free so it's hard to complain too much, but I prefer having items shipped within North America to minimize risk of damage, had I known it wasn't coming from the states, maybe I would have gone with someone else.
Opinions? Am I just being a , or is this a legitimate concern?

Good point, once it arrives I'll go from there. I understand how big of an impact negative feedback can have on the seller, so unless something is wrong I'll probably leave five stars.
After closer inspection their listing does say "We'll find the nearest warehouse to ship from". I just question their math if Sweden was the closest.
I guess it's just the principle of it. If an American seller offered something for $5 and just out sourced the order to a Chinese distributor it seems like it should be fraudulent.

IMac 21.5" shipping from Middletown, PA - refurb?

Hi all. After a long, hard discussion with the wife, I finally took a full fledged plunge into the Mac world. Taking advantage of the Black Friday deals, I ordered an iMac and a Mac Mini this morning. I got the shipping info a while back from Apple, and according what I have read on these forums and forums in general, all iMacs are shipped from China - mine, however, is being shipped from Middletown, PA.
I am worried I am being sent a refurb'd unit, as I read on another forum that a user there got a refurb'd unit sent from Middletown, PA.
How can I tell if the iMac and Mac Mini I receive next week are refurbs or NIB? I know it is a silly question perhaps, but having spent 2200 dollars on both machines, I wouldn't want refurb'd units really.

First, that would not be legal - even in Pennsylvania:D Second, why do you deal with someone (Apple) you do not trust? Third, the airport is located in Middletown, PA - as is sizable warehouse space on, and around, that airport (I once lived nearby). Therefore, Fedex has a presence there.

Can we restrict shipping to a specific customer on specific days?

We have a scenario where we want to resrict shipping to a specific customer on specific days in a week only. i have defined a calander and assigned it to customer site. Afterwards, I tried shipping on a different day. But the system did not stop me from doing so. I was able to ship without any problems.
Any idea how to stop that? Or at least give a warning.
Profile "MSC: Use Shipping/Receiving Calendars" is set to Yes at Site level.

The arrival day also is an Off day. Actually my calander is "ON" only on Thursdays. I entered / booked / scheduled / shipped order on 3rd March, which is Wednesday. The Customer on my order was an internal customer ( It was internal sales order with shipping network defined). The transit time is 5 days, hence Arrival Date on my order line was 8th March, which is again Monday, an "OFF" day as per my shipping calander.

I bought a movie on bestbuy.com and it shipped friday via Mail Express. I was wondering where it shipped from as tracking is not available yet for my item. Do they ship from MN?
I am in the Cleveland, OH area and was wondering when should I expect it, as I have to leave for an overseas trip and would like to take my movie with me.

Well, there are various warehouses all over the country, so really, your DVD could have shipped from any of them. However, from what I've seen, we have one warehouse that typically ships out of Ohio (not 100% sure where, but it is in Ohio). I may be there, it may be coming from California. Without looking at your order, it'd be hard to tell for sure.
If you're concerned about if it's going to make it to you in time, I'd call 888 BESTBUY, give them your order number, and they'd be able to track your order for you and find out, at the very least, how close it is to getting to you.
Don't take what I say as being absolute. There's always room for improvement.

If U got your iPhone via direct fulfillment AT&T & it shipped from FT Worth

I got my phone via direct fulfillment from a local AT & T store. It shipped from Ft. Worth, TX
When Fed Ex delivered, I was surprised to hear how much shifting was going on inside the box and once I opened the box it was obvious why.
Although I was charged $15 for shipping, the packer placed only 1 air bubble packet ON TOP of the phone. ZERO CUSHIONING BELOW THE PHONE or on either side of it, and the box measures a good 4" wider all around than the phone box.
What has been your experience with packaging if you got the iPhone via same method? Did your phone work ok?

From what i recall, the iPhone is the Top component in the box when you first open it. So placing a bubble mailer cushion on top makes the most sense. Apple i'm sure knows that and is shipping them out or instructing the warehouses to package them/ship them as instructed. It should be fine.

You can't buy from the Apple store online in the US because it is country specific and you firstly need a US credit card and then a US address and they won't ship outside of the US so you can't.
No Apple online store will ship outside the coutry.
If you want an iPhone, then you'll have to order via the Russian Apple store online if there is one, or you'll have to wait until it is released in your own country or go and buy one in Europe.

Reserving the item from a specific subinventory

I have business scenario.
My sales order creation is done through interfcae from custom application and as a normal proccess sales order lines gets reserved with qty if there is sufficient onhand qty,at the time of booking the sales order.
now my requirement is at the tiime of reservation i want the materail to be reserved from speciific subinventory.
if i pass the subinventory info from interface, then is it possible to reserve the materail from that subinventory by igoring the other subinventories.

Reservation is the funcationality of Oracle Inventory module. So, if you want to automate,
1. you import the order
2. schedule the line.
3. call inventory API to create reservation from the specific subinventory that you expect.
Scheduling (Schedule ship date) is madatory to create reservation, but, booking is optional to create reservation. if your business requirement is to book first, then perform the BOOKING action and then call INV API to create reservation.
Other option - you can turn on reservation time fence and let the system reserve automatically wherever the line is scheduled. there is also a reservation hook to add business specific logic -OE_RESERVE_CONC_HOOK.

Calculate Shipping Costs based upon warehouse location

My client has three warehouse locations. Some products are shipped from one location, some from another. How can I properly calculate shipping cost based upon which product(s) are placed in the cart given they could be shipping from multiple warehouses on a single order?

My attempt at this was to write some jquery
I setup multiple shipping options for different postcodes (the option for a description in BC does not work so you end up with multiple entries with the same name... can this be fixed please).

The only issue is my weakness in jQuery
It works for the initial load but if you change the shipping location a 2nd time it defaults back to the original.
If someone can help with fixing this it would be appreciated.

You have a fantastic phone, joy3141. I double checked features for the iPhone 5 and confirmed there's not a way to block messages from a specific contact without blocking calls too. Our Call & Message Blocking http://vz.to/MqEgqB is a great way to block unwanted contact from specific numbers, but it would block both calls & messages. Delete emails from a specific folder in Exchange 2010 SP1

Hi all,
Since Exchange 2010 SP1 does not have “-DeleteContent” parameter in mailboxexportrequest any more, how do we delete emails from a specific folder of a user mailbox? (Personal folder, not default folders).
Please note that the ASQ for searchquery in Search-Mailbox does not support “folder”.
If going for retention policy, is there a way to tag a retention policy to a specific folder of a user mailbox without user attention?

Hi William,
Yes, you may not run the Search-Mailbox to delete items in specific folder at the moment. Hope it will be back soon.
You can create a Personal tag, users can apply personal tags to folders they create. But users have to select related Retention Policy using Outlook or OWA manually.
