Should I be able to see a priority change using a mutex priority ceiling

If I have a program which uses a mutex lock in solaris 9 which is set up to protect/priority ceiling of 5 and kick it off using priocntl with a priority of 11 and RT, I can look at top and see that it has priority 111. So my process is running real time. I then use a second xterm and wait till the program hits the lock portion of the code. If I do a priocntl -d pid, it is still priority 11. I know it is in the lock because there is a printf and a sleep of 20 seconds. Should I be able to see the priority go to 5? How can I prove the priority inheritance off the mutex lock is working in a test program? Thanks for any insight.

I also tried it with a priority ceiling of 50, figured out that RT priorities worked the reverse of regular priority, the higher the priority number, the higher the priority. I still however am not able to prove the priority inheritance occured. Anybody got any thoughts on how to prove it is working properly.

Should i be able to see interlacing on the computer display?

I'm trying to verify if i have things set up properly.
If i'm working in a timeline that is DV NTSC and i've brought in elements from after effects and as well have moving images within FCP, should i be able to see the interlaced lines in FCP?
It looks okay on the broadcast monitor but i'm trying to figure out if interlacing on ftg/renders should be visible on the cinema display.

You can observe the presence of interlacing on a computer display only if the Canvas (or Viewer) are set to display 100% size and the video is paused. The interlacing will appear as a comb effect on moving objects. You can not observe interlacing with a computer display on running video.

Ok if disk utility was able to verify the drive I doubt there is any problem.. are you trying to open a TM backup??
You need to mount the sparsebundle then check the actual info inside the bundle.
Don't use disk warrior.. if the disk has verified then unless you deliberately deleted files there is nothing that is going to do.

But if you have copied info to the TC that is now gone.. and the disk is ok.. I am not sure.. the TC will not have deleted the files itself.

No. Photos are only stored in the cloud if you included them in a backup, in which case you can't view them, you can only restore them and everything else in the backup in case your device needs to be restored, OR when using photo stream, but that's not a storage or viewing service, but a syncing service to get pics from one device to another. Now, there is "shared photo stream", and if this is what you have been doing, then google it and learn how it works. Otherwise, icloud is not a photo service like flickr and others like it.

No. Photo Stream is no accessible from iCloud.com.
Photo Stream is meant to sync photos between devices and is not in the cloud storage.
You may be able to access Photo Stream from your computer:

Should I be able to see networked computers in Finder?

Forgive me if this is totally obvious.
Should I be able to click on Network in Finder and see networked PCs on my LAN? I can share and transfer files from a laptop to this iMac, but I don't have the laptop with me right now. I'm trying to see a different desktop PC right now. Under Network, then Servers, I only see iMac.local.
I don't know if this is a problem or if it's just how things work...

Yes you should see them if they are Sharing and on the same Subnet.
If you know the IP of the other Laptop, try In finder, select Go menu>Connect to Servers..., then on the iMac, type in smb://ip.of.the.pc, like...

Not able to see other users change list in IR/ID

I need to perform the CTS+ transports in PI 7.1 and when ever i am going to change list tab apart from my user id i am not able to see any other user id to transfer the objects to my id
Is some setting is missing or some role we need to assign.

Not able to see Message Content while using SOAP Adapter

I am working on following scenario
Web Application ---> SOAP Adapter ---> XI ---> RFC Adapter ---> SAP R/3
Web application is using the WSDL file which I generated from XI.
Now everything is going fine & I am even getting the XML data in SAP R/3 ( Order is getting created ) but in RWB under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
Even in SXMB_MONI for that timeframe it is showing " <b>No messages available for selection</b> ".
Can you tell me why I am not getting the message content & the message itelf in SXMB_MONI. What I need to do in order to get the message content while monitoring.

As my payload was of 100 records with 15 fields I guessed that this can be the reason I am getting timed out. So next time I just send 2 records & this time no error & everything went fine.
Now one thing I need to do is to increase the TIMEOUT value with the help of <b>OSS Note 824554</b>.
But still in RWB ( with 2 records also ) under message monitoring I am getting " <b>Content of message deleted to save memory</b> " for message content.
My objective now, is to display the payload which is coming from Web Application via SOAP Adapter in RWB. Can you help me in this.

Should I be able to see my MobileMe Gallery photos in iPhoto?

I posted this problem a couple of months ago but received no answer - I'm hoping that someone else may have experienced the same problem or someone can explain what it is that I'm doing wrong -
I upgraded from iPhoto '08 to iPhoto '09 in June 2009. I have nine MobileMe Gallery albums. Eight of these albums were created and uploaded using iPhoto '08 and only one with iPhoto '09. I have just noticed a problem which, I believe, has only happened since my upgrade and it's a strange one.
While scrolling through the Photos in my iPhoto 09 Library I noticed that for those photos that appeared in an album uploaded to MobileMe Gallery using iPhoto 08 I have the photo and immediately next to (after) it a white dotted outline of a blank/black space with the Title of the previous photo under it. If I select this 'blank' photo and drag it to the Trash it removes the photo from my MobileMe Gallery album!
This applies to every photo uploaded to all 8 MobileMe Gallery albums with iPhoto 08. The behaviour is not repeated in the images uploaded to the one album I have uploaded to the MobileMe Gallery using iPhoto 09.
Before I realised the significance of these 'blank' photos I selected them as I was scrolling through my Library in Photo view and moved them to the iPhoto Trash! Then I discovered that doing so removed them from both the album on my MobileMe Gallery and the MobileMe Gallery album that I see in the left hand column of iPhoto.
WIll I have to live with these 'blanks' in my Photos view forever?
I would be grateful if anyone can suggest how I might be able to fix this problem.

PS I have now created another 5 MobileMe albums using iPhoto '09. All these display correctly in my iPhoto 'Photos' view as well as on my MobileMe Gallery so I can confirm that the 'blank' problem only relates to MobileMe albums I created and uploaded using iPhoto '08.
Surely other people have experienced the same problem??

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I don't have a backup drive with me at the moment but as soon as I get back to my Time Capsule I'll backup and do as you suggest. Hopefully, that will solve the problem.

Should I be able to see my movies and tv shows because of itunes match?

I purchased iTunes match, and at first I could see my downloaded movies and tv shows on my devices. However I cannot see them anymore. I do not know if this is a setting in iTunes match or a different setting that changed?

iTunes Match is for music only (and music videos purchased from the iTunes Store). Other video content is not supported.

Where should I be able to see my Gamers Club Unlocked?

I bought Gamer Club Unlocked about over 2 weeks ago and I still have not seen it appear in my account rewards overview page. It shows that I got the points for purchasing it but it does not display me as a member. Did I not get fully registered? I did notice that the person who registered me only scanned the first barcide but not the second that is covered by a yellow tape.

Should my boot camp install see my OSX drives?

Windows 7 uses a NTFS formatted file system. OSx uses a Mac only file system, so the answer is you can't without third party tools. Search these forums or search Google. Your question has been asked and answered in these forums several times. The search button is in the upper right of this page.
If you install Windows using a VM like Parallels or Fusion it is a little easier to share files between Windows and OSx.
