Hi, I am on YouTube and I almost have 1,000 subscribers. I am going to get a MacBook Pro in the future and I want to know if I should get Final Cut Pro. Is it worth the price or is iMovie good enough? Please help me!

I am sorry if this sounds harsh, but the bare minimum to get decent performance out of FCP X is 8GB.
If you mac supports more, even better - go to 12GB or 16GB.
Also, the hard drive? Are you editing on the internal drive? That is also a bottleneck. The system drive should not also be used as a media drive; plus, depending on model, it may not be very fast drive to begin with.
You should use an external drive with a fast enough connection - USB3 or Thunderbolt, if possible; FW800 as a distant third. USB2 may also work, albeit it is a relatively slow connection.

Yeah I'm getting the same issue. I purchased a new Mac Mini yesterday purely to use the new FCPX, and now on day 1 I'm already running into problems... please don't make me switch to Premiere.
Set up the computer with external yesterday, never set anything to Time Machine. Here's a screenshot of the drive, formatted on Mac OS Extended (Journaled):

Motion and Compressor are separate.
And know, that FCP-X is unlike FCP 7 in just about every way possible. The way it works is vastly different. And you cannot open FCP 7 or 6 projects in it without buying a 3rd party converter.
Now, I hear many people like it...I just wanted you to know that it is VERY different from FCP 7

Ive had soo much trouble with no success, in trying to get footage from my HD camera into Fina cut Pro HD 4.5. I can get normal dv footage when i cahnge the setting s on the camera, and Final cut pro, but HD is not been possible so far.If any one can inform me of anything, is it possible at all to capture from my camera in HD, do i need Final Cut Pro 5? Do i need pluggins? Anything!! I want to capture HD quality!

You need to list the camera you are using, the settings you shot on and the settings on your sequence (easy set up etc)

How can i get my Imac, running OSX 10.6.8 with a 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, how can i get Final Cut Pro 4 and DVD studio pro 2 to run on it?

I just bought an IMAC running OSX 10.6.8 (not sure what flavor that is). The processor is 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (Late 2006). When i run Final Cut Pro 4 on it I get the following error.
                    "Configuration error
                       This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing
                                * AGP graphics Card"
If Final Cut Pro 4 doesn't run on my system, what version of Final Cut can I run on this as I am a filmmaker and really am comfortable with Final Cut Pro.
On the same note I also have DVD studio Pro 2 and that just quits without any message.

This is my first mac in a long time so i'm not sure about what this mac is as i didn't buy this from apple (ala Amazon). I'm a tad confused about the Intel/PowerPC thing. I do know the software version for sure, but the Intel/PowerPC is very confusing. I just need to find someone who would know about this question. It doesn't say G5 on this computer. Does your Mac have a FW 800 port? If it does, use a 4 pin to 9 pin connection. If you have only Thunderbolt, use a FW>Tb adaptor. Either way, your Mac should see the camera. If it does, so will FCP.

Should i buy Final cut Pro X, or is the program bad?

I have downloaded the trial, and it works great...I read reviews that it slows down in the actual version. They say there is a lot of missing features. Should I buy the Final Cut Pro X, or try to buy FCS3?

If you like the trial, you'll love the application.
Don't listen to all the bad reports - believe in what you see for yourself.
I've used Final Cut Pro professionally since FCP 3 and I can tell you FCP X is an awesome application - it's saved me hundreds of hours of editing, and I love using it.
If you buy the application, your Events and Projects will still be there for you when you launch it.

There is nor reason for it to not work, most PowerPC applications will work on the new Intel based systems. The 5.1 update for Final Cut Pro is meant to run a lot faster thats about it (other than possibly some bug fixes).

Never heard of the expression about 2k and still don't understand what it means. Is that 2k of English pounds or maybe 2k pounds of flesh?
For what it's worth, in 1968 I was doing Fortran programming on an IBM computer that had 2K of memory. The computer room was the size of a large living room and we had two card key punch machines, a 120 "line printer" (printed a whole paper-width line at one time), a CalCom half-step plotter (wrote graphics programs for that), and a computer console, probably around 4 to 5 feet wide with rows of red lights. One had to read what was happening in hexadecimal code.
The programs I wrote were in Fortran and were for transportation planning and the Transportation Engineers. The graphics programs were for Travel Time and Delay Studies and the output was on about 30 or 36-inch wide paper and included things like Average Speed, Running Speed, Stop Delay Time, Percentage of time Stopped, Coefficient of Variation, Standard Deviation, etc. Rand these for AM Peak, PM Peak, Off Peak, and for each direction.
Back then an Engineer typically used a slide rule and if they were lucky they had a simple desktop Calculator that did add, subtract, multiply, divide, and had glowing wire numbers about 3/4" high would cost somewhere around $500. I don't think gas cost even 30 cents a gallon at the time. The venerable HP 35 calculator didn't come out until later. I wanted one but then they came out with the 45 and finally the Commodore 64 came out. Got one of those and wrote a lot of Basic programs for business.
As for the 10.0.8, I do have a backup of that although I'll probably delete it now.

Your ISP timed out its session with the Apple server. Verify your internet connection, maybe even have your ISP check the lines. Even on a slower connection, it shouldn't take more than 1-3 hours tops.

That's not how it works. You need to input the serial number that came with the FCS upgrade +and then+ the serial from the original full retail copy when prompted.
