Should i use cache group or a direct connection to oralce database?

I have a lot of data needs to be inserted into the ORACLE database in a short period of time ,the corresponding table with massive data, whether it can be used to achieve storage of high-speed TIMESTEN the high efficiency?

-->But I have know idea how to use a bean to store
something.
umm, ok, maybe "store" isn't really the best word; I
didn't mean it as a permanent storage, just a
temporary storage which exists while the application
is still running.well, you COULD serialize the bean, however i would not recommend this since you have no chance of changing this by hand. for configuration data an ascii based file storage is typically a good choice, be it a property file, an xml file or something different. however, depending on your application it might be reasonable to separate the mechanism that reads the data from the internal storage, i.e. you could provide a bean that contains the relevant data and some other class that creates the bean from some kind of persistent representation, i.e. file.

  • Should we Use cache seeding iBots to pre-cache the reports ?

    Hi Everyone,
We have requirement from client to improve the performance of some reports. We have a very old RPD and it is really huge so we don't want to do much on database side for performance tuning.
Will it be a good idea to use cache seeding iBots to pre-cache the reports ?
Most of the reports which are having performance issue are having some 5-6 columns and one key column is having some 30+ choices in column selector. So for each column selector view we will have to create a ibot which will again be a huge task. Can you pls guide how to approach this?
    Thanks in advance !

    hi Aarti,
Will it be a good idea to use cache seeding iBots to pre-cache the reports ?http://www.artofbi.com/index.php/2010/03/obiee-ibots-obi-caching-strategy-with-seeding-cache/
30+choices in column selector will definitely have performance issues..bcz each and every time the report is going to refresh .have u enabled the cache some what better .Whats the issue of using existing report by enabling the cache seeding in ibots?

  • Airdrop using wireless network instead of direct connection

    Hello,
Last night my fiancee and I were moving her backed up music folder from my computer onto her new macbook air '11. My computer is an '11 13" pro. When we were both connected to her wireless network and initiated the airdrop file transfer, it was using the wifi network to send the data which caused the older wrt54g router to max out on bandwidth so the transfer was going really slow (1 MB/s).
Then when I realized the transfer (27 GB) was going to take longer than I was going to be there, I decided to try and get the airdrop to work directly. I eventually had to delete her network from my list of favorites in network settings, turn off wi-fi, and turn it back on. Then once my pro was NOT connected to any networks, I initiated the transfer to her computer, and it was going closer to 10 MB/s. Thus, it was using the true direct connection airdrop is SUPPOSED to use.
Now, nowhere does any of the Apple documentation say "...and then you must disconnect from the wireless network common to the computers..." so I am left wondering if this is some bug or why I had to jump through these hoops in order to get the full transfer potential.
Has anyone else experienced this? And/or does this method work for anyone else?
    Thanks,
    William

There are only a few devices that have multiple uses. I use a DLink DWL G703AP on my daughter's iMac for wireless connectivity. If you look it up on the DLink site you can see its capabilities. I am sure there are other devices with similar capabilities.

  • What happens to cached entity beans when directly change record in database?

    hi:
i am working on a project which weblogic as app server. there's many case
in my application where we have to update large number of records(about
    fifty thousands) in
a loop one at a time. we have tried with entity beans but it 's so slow.
so in this case we have to update database directly. but i am worried about
my code accessing record with entity beans. the entities caches state and i
    am
afraid there will be trouble if the state in ejb caches and record in db
mismatch . i change state in db directly and ejbs has no way to know about
    it.
    is there any solution?
    thanks in advance!

Depends on the way you have implemented your entity bean. Normally, a bean
method invocation will trigger a transaction (based on the bean's method
transaction attribute), which will in turn call the ejbLoad(). In CMP's the
container will automatically load the data from the underlying datastore. In
BMP's a transactional method call will invoke the ejbLoad(), and the
ejbLoad() implementation would be responsible for loading the data.

  • What proper headers should I use to succefully end handshake when connecting to WebSocket?

When I try to use WebSocket, my server on handshake send header like this:
    $reply = "HTTP/1.1 101 Switching Protocols\r\n" .
    "Upgrade: websocket\r\n" .
    "Connection: Upgrade\r\n" .
    "Sec-WebSocket-Accept: {$accept}\r\n\r\n";
But, FF doesn't really ends/accept (?) it... It just wainting, and after few sec it disconnect. In Chrome browser it works perfectly... :(

I realy REALY searched whole internet and I saw this page a lot of times and I have read RFC6455 milion times! Everything is 100% ok!... In Chrome it works just perfect, but in my favorite browser - FF <3 - no... :/

  • More than one root table ,how to design cache group ?

    hi,
each cache group have onle one root table , many child table ,if my relational model is :
    A(id number,name ....,primary key id)
    B(id number,.....,primary key id)
    A_B_rel (aid number,bid number,foreign key aid referenc a (id),
    foreign key bid referenc b(id))
my select statement is "select ... from a,b,a_b_rel where ....",
i want to cache these three table , how should i create cache group ?
my design is three awt , Cache group A for A , Cache Group b for b, Cache group ab to a_b_rel ?
are there other better solution ?

As you have discovered, you cannot put all three of these tables into one cache group. For READONLY cache groups the solution is simple, put two of the tables (say A and A_B) in one cache group and the other table (B) in a different cache group and make sure that both use the same AUTOREFRESH interval.
For your case, using AWT cache groups, the situation is a bit mnore complicated. You must cache the tables as two different cache groups as mentioned above, but you cannot define a foreign key relationship in TimesTen between tables in different cache groups. Hence you will need to add logic to your application to check and enforce the 'missing' foreignb key relationship (B + A_B in this example) to ensure that you do not inadvertently insert data that would violate the FK relationship defined in Oracle. Otherwise you could insert invalid data in TimesTen and this would then fail to propagate to Oracle.

  • About cache group

    一个程序向TimesTen的数据表中插入数据能正常运行。但这个表和ORACLE做Cache Group时就不行。
I have a wired problem: a program can insers data into a table of TimesTen when there is no Cache Group with oracle.
However, it can not do this while it is connected to oracle using cache group. Any idea why this happens?
    error message:
    *** ERROR in tt_main.c, line 90:
*** [TimesTen][TimesTen 7.0.3.0.0 ODBC Driver][TimesTen]TT5102: Cannot load backend library 'libclntsh.so' for Cache Connect.

    procedure "loadSharedLibrary()"
    *** ODBC Error/Warning = S1000, Additional Error/Warning = 5102

I think I can exculde the above possibilities, as I have checked all the settings above.
We could use SQL statements as input, and inserting and query can be done at both ends.
It is only the program that does not work. My "connection string" is the following:
    connstr=====DSN=UTEL7;UID=utel7;PWD=utel7;AutoCreate=0;OverWrite=0;Authenticate=1
Maybe it is a mistaken properity, or permission, or a switch parameter? Please give some suggestions.
    Thank you very much.

  • Use of GROUP BY in SELECT

I am considering using GROUP BY in several selects where I will access very big bsik, bsid, bsad, bsak, ecc...
My two concerns are performance and high data volume.
GROUP BY should reduce data arriving from DB but will it hurt performance?
    What are your considerations?
Any ideas are welcome. I cannot seem to find anything specific for or against GROUP BY.
    thanks,
    Phillip

    Hello Philip,
I would advise that you do not use the Group By clause in the select statements for these tables. As you have rightly said, the data volume in these tables might be a major cause for concern.
Using the Group By clause will heavily load the database server. while in the development environment, your query  might run okay, in the productive environment it might crash. The reason : the cursor to the database would have timed out.
The Group By operation, as you know can be simulated after you get the data into the application server. The application server processing can take some time but you can usually optimize it.

    Anand Mandalika.

  • Question About what Azure Services I should be using for mobile app with website.

    Hello,
I am wondering what Azure service would be best for my new application. I need to have an SQL database that I can connect to and modify from both a website and a mobile app preferably WP8 and Android. I was not really understanding whether I would need a
mobile service or normal SQL database. Which should I use or am I completely off track?
    Thanks,
    Matthias

Mobile Services uses SQL Database, nothing special on that SQL Database, its just like any other  "normal" SQL Database.
Mobile Services provides "back-end services" that simplifies accessing SQL Database, Notification services, authentication, etc...
Let's assume you don't use Mobile Services, to use SQL Database, you would need your app (both mobile and web) to connect to the database. In practice, you will not want to expose your SQL database directly, so you'd end-up writing some kind of a "facade"
that your app will access instead of directly connecting to the database.
Instead of writing that "facade", Mobile services provides that for you (you still have to write code though, but less than what you need to write if you're rolling your own).
Both your web app and mobile apps can share the same SQL database (pay attention to the mobile service schema).
To help you decide, ask yourself what other features will your mobile app require? Authentication? Notification? etc... are you prepared to write those on your own or use various libraries instead of one?

  • Which wattage adapter should I use with the composite cable with my iPad?

Which wattage adapter should I use with the composite cable when connected to my iPad while watching T. V. .

Ultimately, use the power adapter that came with the iPad. But you should use any USB based power adapter that has a 10 watt/ 2 amp or higher power rating. Look close when buying a thrid party adapter, if it does not specify 10 watts/2 amps it is a lower 5 watt/1 amp charger that will not work.

  • Direct Connectivity to systems source

    Please i have a question:
Should the OWB Client (Design component) have direct connection to the system sources, to import metadata, or the import will be executed from server_Repository(design), in this case only the server_side must be connected to the source.
(I read the paper Oracle warehouse Builder 10g Architecture, it discusses about metabase : is this component resides in server or in server(design) ???
    Thanks for your help

    Hi,
If you have checked the architecture of OWB you've seen the following 3 'environments':
    - design time repository (holds model information);
    - runtime repository (holds runtime information on deployment and execution);
    - target schema (your actual datawarehouse).
The OWB Client interacts with the design time repository.
From within the OWB Client you can start the Deployment Manager (using the so-called Runtime Access User), all things happening here are stored in the runtime repository.
With your OWB Client you need access to the design repository, thus access to the database where this resides (since you have to specifically log in).
From this design repository database you need access to all databases that are used as source for your datawarehouse (via databaselinks).
    Hope this helped.

  • Webservice Vs Direct Connect to DB

    Experts,
In our application, we're connecting to legacy application using web service call.  Here, I wanted to know the benefit of using Web Service call or direct connect to DB using Open SQL.
Please advice which one is best.  Here I was not able to come to any conculsion.
    Regards,
    Ramki.

    Hi,
    >Here I was not able to come to any conculsion.
Maybe you could think of what will happen if there is a structure change in a table  ? This might help you to come to a conclusion...
Direct external  access  to a database is EVIL and should be avoided at any price.
By the way, if you access SAP data directly at database level, you loose SAP support...

    Olivier

  • Connect to APEX database using VBA+ADO code in Microsoft Excel & Word?

I am looking at APEX as a potential replacement for a growing reporting/analysis system. As yet I have not found a clear answer on an important question.
The current system is a shared database and a collection of Microsoft Excel and Word templates. Each template contains underlying VBA code that establishes a direct connection to the database via OLE DB (i.e. ADODB objects in VBA via the OLE DB Provider for JET).
Each template’s underlying VBA code executes stored procedures or queries as required, the results of which are returned as Recordset objects and rendered to the Excel worksheet or Word document. Similarly, in some cases, data entered into an Excel worksheet by a user can be submitted back to the database at the click of a button, again via Recordset objects.
Now most of our templates could easily be ported to APEX. However, there is a strong preference that some of our templates continue to exist and maintain current functionality. So we have a requirement that Excel and Word can seamlessly and directly interact with an APEX database.
Long question short – is there a way to establish a connection and retrieve/insert data from an APEX database using OLE DB (ADODB) in VBA, as described above? I understand that APEX sits ‘on top’ of a real Oracle database, and I know Oracle provides an OLE DB Provider (OraOLEDB) for Oracle databases. Would OraOLEDB do the trick, or is it not as simple as that?
Many thanks for your insights on this,
    Michal

Apex gets installed as a separate schema in an existing database.
So it will not in any way interfere with your existing setup. You can continue to connect directly to the database from your spreadsheets, call stored procedures from VBA/ADO, etc.

  • Use 2 App modules with connection to 2 databases on 1 UIX page?

Is it possible use 2 different Application modules with connection to different databases on one UIX page?
    Thank you.

    Yes.
Use a <bc4j:registryDef> with two <bc4j:rootAppModule>'s inside. Everything else is the same as the single root application module case.
More documentation is available in the UIX Developer's Guide available in the JDeveloper help system and online at:
