Show another page in JSP

I would like to show another web page from a different server in my JSP on Tomcat 6.0.20.
My attempt outputs error message: The requested resource (/show/jsp/http:/mainsite:8500/first/third.cfm) is not available
Here is my attempt:
<jsp:include page="http://mainsite:8500/first/third.cfm" /> Please advise.

<jsp:include> can not import pages from other servers. It can only handle local references.
The JSTL <c:import> tag will do this though.

  • Importing variables from another page in jsp

    Hey.
    I want to make two pages. I want the first page to include the variables from another page or POJO.
    I did this but i cant use the variables in index.jsp without initializing them first. But when I initialize them i get an error when trying to initialize them two times.
    if i use the variable in index without saving i get an error in eclipse.. but it works if i save and deploy.
    Is there any way to make eclipse see that i have imported the variable?
    The pages look something like this:
    index.jsp
    <%@ include file="extra.jsp" %>
    Print the number from the extra page
    <%= number %>extra.jsp
    int number = 32;I plan using this in a much greater system so I would appreciate any help.

    I'm having the same problem.
    Would be nice if somebody could help us.

  • Show another page in the same page

    Hello
    I have the following case :
    Trinidad Page it includes A trinidad table of urls and in the same page i have an iframe .when the user select a row from the table :
    - the screen is submitted and display the selected URL in the iframe.
    What is the best way to do that.
    Regards

    Hi, The following assumes that you are using 'single' as the selection strategy for the table.
    try the following:
    1. declare a global variable iframeSource with getter and setter methods.
    2. set the autoSubmit property of the table to true
    3. add a selectionListener method to the table; and in that write the following code
    RowKeySet keys = table.getSelectedRowKeys();
    Iterator iterator = keys.iterator();
    while(iterator.hasNext()){
    Your-RowObject-Containing-URL urlobject =(Your-RowObject-Containing-URL) iterator.next(); // may be the object is simple string in your case.
    iframeSource=urlobject.getURL();
    4. wrap your iframe in a trinidad's panelGroupLayout or any other container component to make use of PPR :
    &lt;tr:panelGroupLayout partialTriggers="table-id" &gt;
    &lt;iframe src="#{your-backing-bean.iframeSource}" .... .... .... /&gt;
    &lt;/tr:panelGroupLayout&gt;
    With that, when ever a row is clicked in the table the content of the iframe gets updated with the content from the selected url.

  • JSP, downloading files and show html page

    I like to download files and show a html page on JSP.
    With the source following, downloading works well.
    But, it is just remained on the previous page, not showing the next html page.
    Someone tell me why is it?
    <%@ page import="java.io.*, java.net.URL"%><%
    String file_name = request.getParameter("file_name");
    File fileDir = new File(config.getServletContext().getRealPath("upload/"));
    File theFile = new File(fileDir, file_name);
    FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(theFile);
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=\"" + theFile.getName()+"\"");
    response.setContentLength((int) theFile.length());
    BufferedInputStream bf = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(theFile), 8096);
    int i;
    while ((i=bf.read()) != -1)
    out.write(i);
    bf.close();
    out.close();
    %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>file download</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p align="center"> </p>
    <p align="center"><b><font face="Tahoma" color="#000000" size="2">You have
    successfully downloaded your file(<%=file_name%>)!</font></b></p>
    </body>
    </html>

    You's already close the JSP output stream befor you try and write your html confirmation, and I don't think browsers can provide the kind of functionality you're trying to demonstrate here. A browser will download the file and open it directly itself or using another application based on user input (e.g. save as, open file, etc.). Once the file is opened or downloaded, it's done!
    I think your best bet is to show a dialogue that the user's download should begin, then set the pages href w/ JS to the location of the file, same way other sites that allow you to download files do it. Go take a look at download.com or something like that.
    Hope that helps.

  • I need to get the value of a text field that is located in another page JSP

    I need to get the value of a text field that is located in another page JSP. How do I do that?

    Well you see, I have a page at angelfire.com, which
    does not support JSP. I want to call a script located
    at mycgisever and then, when pressing a link on the
    former page, the JSP page is loaded, and the script
    get the value from the text field on the OTHER page.
    Is this possible?I know nothing about cgi. But that should not prevent me from understanding what can and cannot be done, assuming cgi is sort of comparable with jsps.
    I'm unable to understand your description clearly. Try to explain it better. Give precise steps that you intend to follow and I should be able to help you further.
    So you have a page1.
    You hit submit from page1.
    That goes to the cgiserver.
    From the cgiserver, programmatically load up the jsp.
    search this for the text field.
    Display it on your page2.
    Is that what you are trying to do?
    BTW, won't be able to help you with cgi scripting at all. Can help with Java and Jsp.

    i am taking records from database through resultset.resultset contains so many records ,i want to show those records page by page on JSP.when user clicks on "next" button then next records should be displayed on JSP page.What should be the solution?

  • Accessing another par file jsp pages

    Hi
    i need to access another par file JSP pages from my par file, what all i need.
    any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Damodhar.

    Gandhi,
    Well..there is a very good article on how to use resources(watever resources u mentioned) of one par inside any other par file on SDN:
    Here is the document:<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b3c1af90-0201-0010-c0ac-c8d802d264f0">JSPs, Resources...</a>
    Xml files i worked were not property files of an iview.
    They were application specific xml files.I read these xml files on a different par(or iview).For that matter, they don need not be of type xml,could be any type of resource.

  • In portlets, how to use a html form passing  values to the another page?

    it is well known that in web developing , we have two methods to pass values to another page.<!--
    1. passing values
    2.<form action="nextPage" method ="post"></form>-->
    but how to use two methods in oracle portal portlets?
    I have got a simple example which submit two values to the page for itself, means a page has a form with submit botton, user input the form with values and then submit them by submit botton, then the page recevice those values and show it .
    this example is powered by oracle ,
    please have a look at these code:

    // collide either with other portlets or other instances of itself. This
    // is generally accomplished by using "fully-qualified" parameter names. A

    Hi Moonsoft,
    I have already answered this query in the other post at Re: how to link more than one links in portlet?(jsp develop)
    <form name = "showPageForm" method = "POST" action = "<%= UrlUtils.htmlFormActionLink(pReq,UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK) %>">
      <%= UrlUtils.htmlFormHiddenFields(pReq,UrlUtils.PAGE_LINK, "showPageForm") %>
      <input type="text" name="param1">
      <input type="text" name="param2">
      <input type="hidden" name="myPPN" value="/htdocs/page2.jsp">
    </form>then in your jsp code on page2.jsp, you will extract the parameters by specifying
    <%
      String p1 = request.getParameter("param1");
      String p2 = request.getParameter("param2");
    %>
    >>this is easy common jsp or asp development, but in oracle is too diffcult!!!!
    :-) .. there is a difference between web-applications and portlets, you just need to get used to it once. I hope this does clarify your doubts.
    thanks,

  • URL showing previous page

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and Oracle 10g
    I have an application that shows a login page, with the url as xxx/globalHome.jsp
    Once the user has entered in the correct details i have created a jsf Navigation to a detailpage where user information is show.
    However in the URL the it still displays xxx/globalHome.jsp even though i have now been taken to the detail.jsp
    From the detail page if I then navigate to another page by a click of a button say to a contactUs page the URL then says xxx/detailPage.jsp
    Its like the URL that displays is the one from the previous page.
    This is affecting our analysis of which user has visited which page.
    Please could anyone offer any help?
    thanks

    if you use faces navigation rules, you can try adding redirect tag under the navigation rule in faces-config.xml.
    Incase of using task flows, select the view inside the task flow and set the Redirect property to true.

  • Displaying facemessage to a another page other than requested page

    Dear All,
    I have requirement to display FaceMessage to an another page that is other than the requested page.
    Code in the backing bean is some thing like this.
    Login.java:
    if(login.validate())
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(null,
    new FacesMessage("User logged Successfull!"));
    return "success"; // Which will show success.jsp
    else
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(null,
    new FacesMessage("Invalid login!"));
    return "failure"; // Which will show login.jsp
    I am able to display the "Invalid login message succesfully in the login.jsp if the user is not a valid user.
    But if user is successfull, it's not showing any message in the success.jsp
    Thanks in advance
    Manas

    Does the navigation case have a <redirect/> directive for the 'success' case? If so, remove it.
    Does the success JSP file have a <h:messages/> tag? If not, add it.

  • How to retrieve a page item value in another page?

    Hi,
    how to retrieve a page item value in another page?
    say P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE is my page item name and it is a select list.Based on the value selected,in the next page i shd show details related to the selected value and for this i need P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE value in the next page.How Do I get it?When I try to retrieve the values it simply returns nothing.
    Any pointers would be really helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Could you please tell how you try use it ?
    If you set value to item P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE and submit page, value is saved to session state.
    Then you can use that item in any page like
    :P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATEYou can not access page value in javascript/jQuery from other pages like
    $v('P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE')
    document.getElementbyID('P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE')
    $(#P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE)Because item is not in other pages. In javascript from other pages you can use
    var a = '&P55_COURSES_TO_EVALUATE.';Regards,

  • Link a Column on a Report to another column on report on another page Drill

    I would like the user to click on a column value on a report which then should open another page and filter the report to show the related value which was clicked. Basically I would like to create a hyperlink between two reports as in Drill Down Report.

  • BSP passing value from Form of a page to another page

    Hi experts
    I need you helps for some issue!
    I've create a bsp page with a form with an inputField and now I need to retrieve the value inserted by the user and pass it to another page.
    Can you explain me how I've to do?
    Second question is if is possible to use the inputfiled in a pop-up page and then pass the value to the first page.
    I've noticed than the first page is not refreshed when I try to pass the value of the other page.
    Tahnk's!

    Hi Alessandro,
    There are two approaches for doing this.
    1st approach has been mentioned below.
    2nd approach is: I am assuming you are working on Web-IC if its right then this approach is valid:
    you are using some attributes from a structure to show the input fields on the screen so what you can do is, in the IP_INBOUNDPLUG method of the new page you can create insatance of the previous page structure and then you can set these values to the new structure of the new page by saying set_attributes.
    Hope so it will help you:)
