Show/Hide Group in SSRS 2012 Chart

Hi,
How can i hide/show chart category group in SSRS 2012?
Thanks in advance
Paramesh G

Hi Paramesh G,
According to your description, you want to know how to control visibility of horizontal axis labels, right?
When we create a chart, tick marks and labels are displayed by default on axes. You can adjust the way that they are displayed by using major and minor tick marks and labels. To eliminate clutter in a chart, you can display fewer axis labels or tick marks
on the horizontal (category) axis by specifying the intervals at which you want categories to be labeled, or by specifying the number of categories that we want to display between tick marks. We can also set labels to be hidden. To achieve your goal, please
refer to the following steps:
In design surface, right-click x-axis and open Horizontal Axis Properties dialog box.
Click Labels in left pane, check Hide axis labels check box.
Click OK to save the settings.
The screenshot is for your reference:
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • In Address Book, any way to Show/Hide groups from view in the "ALL" view?

    I have groups of contacts in Address Book (v4.0.4) that I plan to use in the future, but right now having to wade through and past all of their individual entries when I am scanning my contact list in the "All" group view. Is there any way to Show/Hide these sub-groups with a visibility check-box? The sub-group name would still be there in the group list (to remind me that it exists and make it visible if desired), but I would have a lot less clutter and scrolling the rest of the time.
    I know I can export groups in vCard format and re-import later, but a lot of my original custom fields for the contacts are lost in the process. Is there a 3rd-party plug-in? (Apple, are you working on something like this?)

    Hi Mike, My Address Book app is behaving correctly (maybe I'm not).
    I'm just saying there are times when I want to see "most" of my total collection of contacts, maybe just for the purpose of creating new groups at particular time and want to see at one time the pool of contacts I have to choose from. There are groups that I very seldom need to use, so it would be a way of putting those groups (and their contacts) into "cold storage."
    I also may want to do searches from among most of my contacts, but also I may want to eliminate certain other particular groups from that search pool. That is the reason for wanting to do the "Show/Hide" thing. It is a way of displaying a logical "ALL" minus "SOME", which is the basically same thing as displaying the logical "UNION" of more than one group of contacts at one time. Can this be done?
    Is there a way to open alternate address books, from within the same Address Book app (and logged in as the same user)? That would allow me to truly isolate my work list from my home list.
    One answer to this occurs to me: I could create different log-ins on my PowerBook, and build the different variants of the Address Book I might want into each login and use Fast User Switching to get into each list of contacts. That seems like a lot of extra work . . . and logging in. Any suggestions?

  • SSRS 2012 Charts not rendering

    Hi,
    We recently upgraded from SQL 2008 R2 to SQL 2012, and since then, all of the charts in our reports will not render.  They appear on the report server with a red "x".  When running the reports in report builder, the charts do not show at all.
    However, the charts DO render when the page layout mode is toggled.
    Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Yep! this got my charts showing again.
    Thank you very much Mike DiGregorio for posting this. :)
    I hope i won't need to also apply the other fix(KB2823372) which is to upgrade the gdiplus.dll. (might have to do so if I find other issues with the charts i guess)

  • Conditional formatting a graph vertical axis in SSRS 2012 charts

    Hi,
    I have a situation where i want to color the label on vertical axis of graph depending on certain condition. Say when values are positive the color would be Black and when negative color would be Red.
    I tried following condition but its not working.
    =iif(Fields!MyField.Value < 0 , "Red", "Black")
    I know there are few threads already mentioning that this feature is not supported in SSRS 2008 but just wanted to know if its adddressed in SSRS 2012 or later?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Oliver D'mello

    Hi Oliver,
    According to your description, you want to use an expression to specify different color for Axis Labels based on values in a chart.
    As we tested in our environment, when we apply condition in expression to give dynamic color for Axis Labels, the color setting applies to all labels based on the condition. This issue happens in both SQL Server 2012 and 2014. Please refer to the screenshots
    below:
    In this scenario, I would recommend you submit this issue to the Microsoft Connect at this link

  • Show/ Hide Tables in SSRS based on Multiple Parameters

    Hi
    Is it possible to show/ hide multiple different tables based on a multivalued parameter?  I have 6 tables and I want 1 or 6 displayed dependent on what is selected from the multivalued parameter.
    When I add the IN operator and select multivalues, I get the following error:
    I have an expression set in the Visibility tab in the tablix to:
    =IIf(Parameters!Name.Value =

    true)
    and in the filters tab, I have a filter on the name so the data is filtered only by that name so it can display the different categories in the different tablix.
    Can anyone advise on how to achieve it so I can use the multivalued parameter option to display 1 or more tables?
    thanks!

  • Remove show/hide group tree at inforview for cystal report

    Hi there!
    I have 2 copies of Inforview install on 2 computers.
    The first one, is my local comp. The display of cyrstal report at dynamic viewer is ok.
    However on my second comp. The viewer will default to show the group tree stucture. I have tried to set the configuration at web.config. But it is still displaying the group tree structure.
    Anyone could assist me?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joni

    I have tried disabling the option "Show Preview Panel" (according to a screenshot I found, this option replaced the old "Create Group Tree" option) in Report Options, and that effectively eliminates the content of the group tree, however, the group tree panel still comes up and shows empty until it is hidden using the toolbar.
    This is really annoying and I can't find any solution for it on the web. Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
    Joerg.

  • Dundas Chart for Reporting Services in SSRS 2012

    We are in the process of upgrading our servers to 2012 and though I find many things about converting or upgrading dundas controls to 2008, I can't find anything about upgrading/converting to SSRS 2012.  After converting the development machines to
    SQL Server/SSRS 2012 the reports now simply show "The custom Report Item Type DundasChartControl is not installed".  The only Dundas Chart installation I can find is for SSRS 2008.  Does a 2012 version not exist?  Am I supposed to
    convert these into Microsoft charts?
    Thanks in advance,
    Robb Melancon

    Hi Robb,
    It seems that you are using Dundas Chart Control for SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services not the Dundas Chart Control 2005 that Microsoft has purchased.
    Microsoft purchased the license to use Dundas Chart Control 2005 in Reporting Services 2008 and above. Therefore the supported upgrade is from Reporting Services 2005 Dundas Charts to SSRS 2008 (R2) and SSRS 2012 Charts.
    If you are using a particular component released by Dundas for SSRS 2008 R2, you won’t be able to upgrade Reporting Services 2008 R2 Reports with Dundas Charts to Reporting Services 2012 Charts.
    To confirm this, please check the details of this assembly “DundasRSChart.dll” located under the /Report Server/bin directory.
    If the Product Name is “Dundas Chart for Reporting Services 2008 R2”, it indicates that this is a new version of Dundas Chart for SSRS 2008 R2 (i.e. a third party control). If the Product Name is “Microsoft SQL Server”, it indicates that this is the version
    that Microsoft has purchased.
    In this condition, you have to migrate the DundasRSChart.dll to the SSRS 2012 instance and reference it as the custom assembly in the reports. Please make sure to rename the DLL file so that it won’t replace the native DundasRSChart.dll installed by SQL
    Server 2012.
    For more information about referencing custom assembly in a report, please see:
    Using Custom Assemblies with Reports

  • CP6 HTML5 output file, show/hide don't work

    Hi all,
    I've create a menu screen where I have grouped some graphics to a button and disabled 'visible in output'. I then created a conditional script to show or hide the group depending on interaction, assigning the script to the slide on enter.
    However, publishing it in html, the show/hide groups simply does not appear, but it's working perfectly fine in SWF.
    Please help!
    Cheers

    I didn't understand '...have grouped some graphics to a button....'? Do you?

  • Is there a way to allow text wrapping on the outside (parent) group label IN SSRS Bar chart?

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2012.  I have a series of charts that have multiple category groups.  When I preview the chart, everything looks great unless the category group label is too long.  In that case it just gets cut off.  I've tried allowing
    "wrapped text", changed interval values,font size for Y AXIS but that seems to only affect the inside (child) category group.  Is there a way to allow text wrapping on the outside (parent) group label?
    I am expecting AREA VIII  BUT it shows AR on y axis.
    I need to fix it asap.

    Hi Sukhjeet.BI,
    Actually, I can reproduced the issue in my local Reporting Services environment. If there are multiple category groups on the chart, the child category can be wrapped, but the parent category would be truncated. Based on my research, this behavior looks
    like by design. Usually, the best practice is to limiting label length and number of items, use a smaller size label font or enlarge the chart size to get the chart to display properly.
    If you have any concerns about this in Reporting Service, I would suggest you submitting a wish at
    https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback.

  • Chart with parameters in SSRS 2012

    Hello,
      I want to do a chart (line chart particularly, but I will take an answer for any chart as they all probably work similarly) with one parameter passed (hospitalid) and two values returned (BedDays and MonthYear).  MonthYear is how the horizontal
    line is divided, by each month, and the BedDays should be the number of patient stays in beds in that month.  Doesn't matter if it's sum of bed days or bed days, because a sum is made in the stored procedure, and MonthYear is unique.
      I have spend a few days on this problem, working a lot on it, and I keep running into errors, trying various methods.  I don't know where all my errors could be coming from, it could be in the aspx, it could be in the report design, or it could
    be in the code behind, so I am hoping someone can give me a step by step solution to this problem which should be simple, but apparently is not because there is no worthwhile help that I can find on the internet.  It should work for SSRS 2012, I do not
    have a choice of using an earlier version for this project.  Please include everything I need to do in the report GUI, in the aspx file, and in the code behind, as any little error in any of these could keep this from working and make it very difficult
    for me to pinpoint what is going wrong.
      Please help!

    I'm using Visual Studio 2013.  According to what I read, there is no report preview in newer versions?
    I created a report and then added a line chart.
    I used my connection and under Data Set Name I put: AllevantReportDataSetB
    Under Choose the Dataset, I selected AllevantReportDataSetB as the data source.
    For "Name" I chose DataSetB
    The stored procedure works (that is all you need to know, because the inner detail shouldn't make a difference), and when a parameter @facilityid is passed to it, it returns a table with the first column named MonthYear which is a date of all of the months,
    years, and the first of each month from the beginning to end of the data - and the second column is BedDays, the number of total stays in a bed for all of the patients at the facility.
    In Category groups, I have MonthYear, and in Values I have BedDays (actually [Sum(BedDays)], but the sum shouldn't matter, because the MonthYears are unique so there is only one MonthYear, there is not more than one of the same month in the whole data set)
    My .aspx is the following:
    <rsweb:ReportViewer ID="ReportViewer1"
    runat="server"
    ProcessingMode="Remote"
    Font-Names="Verdana"
    Font-Size="8pt"
    InteractiveDeviceInfos="(Collection)"
    WaitMessageFont-Names="Verdana"
    WaitMessageFont-Size="14pt"
    Width="95%"
    Height="99%" ShowDocumentMapButton="False"
    ShowPromptAreaButton="False" Visible="true">
    <LocalReport ReportEmbeddedResource="MySolution.Report5.rdlc">
    <DataSources>
    <rsweb:ReportDataSource DataSourceId="Report1DataSource" Name="DataSetB" />
    </DataSources>
    </LocalReport>
    </rsweb:ReportViewer>
    And my VB code behind is the following:
    Protected Function GetReportDataTable() As DataTable
    Dim Conn As New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("sql").ToString)
    Dim Command As New SqlCommand("BedDays", Conn)
    Dim BedDaysDataTable As New DataTable()
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("MonthYear", GetType(DateTime))
    BedDaysDataTable.Columns.Add("BedDays", GetType(Int32))
    Command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
    Command.Parameters.Add("@facID", SqlDbType.Int).Value = 20
    Command.Connection = Conn
    Conn.Open()
    Dim DataReader As SqlDataReader = Command.ExecuteReader()
    BedDaysDataTable.Load(DataReader)
    Conn.Close()
    Return BedDaysDataTable
    End Function
    Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
    If Not IsPostBack Then
    FillMetricsDDL()
    FillFacilityDDL()
    Dim rds As ReportDataSource
    rds = New ReportDataSource("Report1DataSource", GetReportDataTable)
    Dim ReportParameters As New List(Of ReportParameter)
    ReportParameters.Add(New ReportParameter("@facID", 20))
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(rds)
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.ReportPath = "Report5.rdlc"
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Refresh()
    End If
    Common.Chosen(Me)
    End Sub
      I am getting the error where the report should be
    Unable to connect to the remote server, no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
    But I suppose once this error is resolved, there will be more, because I really do not quite know exactly how SSRS charts with parameters in SSRS 2012 are suppossed to work, in code behind, in aspx, and in the charting, and how it all ties together.  So
    some complete guidance to show ALL the places where I am going wrong here would be much appreciated, not just an attempt to solve the one error I have above, which may not be the sum total of all of my problems here.
    Unless, of course, it IS the only error which would be GREAT.

  • SSRS 2012 - Groups in Report Manager aren't present when exported to Excel

    Hi all, hope somebody can help with this issue, as I cant seem to find any other posts about it
    I have a report in SSRS2012. It was copied from SSRS2005 quite recently, as we have upgraded. The SQL developer said that it didn't need any code changes, as he had some kind of tool to test code problems between the two versions.
    The report has a table, with 5 row groups, and one detail row. The table is setup as follows:
    Name                                         Sales
    Costs       Profit
    Group1
       Group2
          Group3
             Group4
                Group5
                   DetailsRow
    When I run this report using the Report Manager website from SSRS2005, and then export to Excel 2013, I get the 6 row groups in Excel, no problem whatsoever. I can drill into each group in Excel, using the group drilldown column on the left hand side. This
    works the same as the Report Manager website.
    If I run the exact same report from the Report Manager website in SSRS2012, the Report Manager result is the same as SSRS2005 - all the row groups are present, and the drilldown works fine. However, the export to Excel has issues with the groups. There are
    only 3 row groups showing in Excel, along with a column group added for no apparent reason. Drilling into each group shows inconsistent details, and there is no apparent logic as to what is shown within each group.
    Hopefully, someone has seen this issue before, and can help, because I have no idea what to do, having spent a couple of days trying to figure it out. I should also mention, that this issue with groups is seen on all my reports which have groups, not just
    this report
    Thanks for any and all help
    Naz

    Hi Naz,
    According to your description, the report works correctly in SSRS 2005 while the same report doesn’t work in SSRS 2012 when exporting to a Excel file.
    In your scenario, please make sure you are migrating the report from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2012 instead of copying the .rdl directly. Generally, we are using Reporting Services Migration Tool to migrate reports between report server. Please refer to this article:
    SQL Server Reporting Services: Migrating SSRS reports, data sources and subscriptions from one server to another.
    After migrating the report successfully, you should upgrade the report definition in SQL Server Data Tools to upgrade the .rdl file. Please refer to this article:
    Upgrade Reports.
    If you have upgraded the report but the issue still persists, please provide report design for our analysis. If possible, please provide some screenshots about the preview result and Excel render result.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Combined charts - SSRS 2012

    Hi,
    I need to reproduce with SSRS 2012 an Excel combined chart. It is composed from a principal stacked column chart to show the number of opened contracts and a secondary line chart to show the daily number of opened contracts.
    Any suggests to me, please? Thanks

    Hi pscorca,
    According to your description, we are not clear about “Excel combined chart” you mentioned. Do you want to use Excel as a Reporting Services datasource to design a chart in BIDS or export two charts which are designed in BIDS into excel?
    If we want to use Excel as a Reporting Services datasource to design charts in SSDT, we should create a System Data Source Name in ODBC Data Source Administrator, then create a Shared Data Source with ODBC type. For detail steps, please refer to this article:
    Using Excel as a Reporting Services datasource.
    If we want to export two charts which are designed in SSDT into excel, we should export the chart into .xls file, then open it in Excel. Please refer to steps below:
    1. When Preview the chart, you can press Export button then choose Excel. Please refer to screenshot below:
    2.After storing the chart as .xsl file, then open it in Excel. It looks like below:
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Is there a way to show/hide a group of objects that will work in html5?

    I consider myself to have a fairly decent understanding of captivate and its functions but this recent issue has stumped me.
    I have a button with javascript attached to it that runs a typical if loop: (pseudo code to follow)
    if(variable = 1){
    show "group" and variable = 0;
    } else{
    hide "group" and variable = 1;
    Now normally, I would do this with single images, etc, and it would work fine.  You click the button (the image being unticked where it says "visible in output") and the image shows itself, then you click the button, and it hides.  Very standard stuff.
    My issue, is that captivate seems to let you name a group you make....but they have not given you any control of that group.
    Problem:
    I want a way to show and hide a group of objects by only clicking one button (when published to html5).
    I want to only have to reference the group and dont want to need to write a separate line of code for every single component that makes up that group (assuming the solution has to be coded).
    Is it even possible to control groups like this within captivate?
    Thanks!

    There is an adobe video that I think shows how to do exactly what you are asking.
    This is the video link:
    Lightbox-style Menu in Adobe Captivate 6 - YouTube
    At about 10min 50sec, it goes over creating a group from a number of single elements.
    At about 12min 30sec, it shows creating an action that turns the whole group on and another to turn the group off.
    When I did this myself, I used just one action that toggled the group on or off, but they show it as two actions. The idea is the same.
    I hope that helps. Apologies if I mis-understood the issue.

  • SSRS 2012 SP2, Native / Report Manager, non-IE browsers show date parameters in US format MM/DD/YYYY, ignoring locale settings

    I have a server running SSRS 2012 SP2, in Native / Report Manager mode. The server, reports, desktop etc are all set to en-AU.
    Using IE, date parameters show as expected in DD/MM/YYYY format.  However using Chrome or Firefox, they show in US format MM/DD/YYYY.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi Jiri,
    Thanks for that speedy tip - that has solved it for Chrome.
    I followed a similar path to get it fixed for Firefox - Settings / Content / Languages / add English/Australia [en-au] / Move Up to top spot.
