Show image item from table into form's item.

Hi Friends,
My problem is:
I have 1 table with 2 cols:
eid number
e_pict blob.
I created a form (block based on this table). I'm able to show any valid image file stored in disk into e_pict (declared as image item) using the built_in READ_IMAGE_FILE. and also able to save it in the table test. But if I want to do the reverse process I mean retrieve the image from table's field to the image item of form, it creates problem. I even cannot compile the post_text_item trigger of eid:
select e_pict into :test.e_pict
from test
where rtrim(eid)=rtrim(:eid);
It is giving error:
bad bind variable 'test.e_pict'
Pls help me.
Regards,
Pragati.

If I declare the image field as long raw instead of blob then also the same problem.
I can save the image from file to database through a form but cannot retrieve an image from database to form.
Pls help.
Thanks in advance,
Pragati.

  • How to populate data from table into datagrid in form

    hi there. may i know how to populate data from a table into a datagrid? i have created a datagrid in a form using OLE's microsoft datagrid. i'm having problem to populate data from table into the grid. can i know how to do that? thanks

    Not exactly. I want to enter input from form and the user can have all options to choose i.e. HIGH, MEDIUM or so on.
    Suppose, you have option to select HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW and you can see all these options together. You select LOW and when you save, it is saves in the table as a value. So when you view the table again, it will show LOW as active and HIGH and MEDIUM are null.

  • Reading any value from table into a string (Especially date etc..)

    How would I read any value from a table into a string?
    Currently doing the following...
    data ret_val type string.
    select single (wa_map-qes_field) from z_qekko into ret_val
    where
    angnr = _angnr.
    When the source field is a date it bombs though.
    The result goes into a BDCDATA-fval.
    regards
    Dylan.

    Tried...
    1    DATA: lp_data TYPE REF TO DATA.
    2    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <value> TYPE ANY.
    3    CREATE DATA lp_data LIKE (wa_map-qes_field).
    4    ASSIGN lp_data->* TO <value>.
    5    SELECT SINGLE (wa_map-qes_field) FROM zquadrem_qekko INTO <value> WHERE angnr = _angnr.
    Complains that (wa_map-qes_field) is not defined in line 3.
    Think that the bracket thing is only available via SQL.
    What about CREATE DATA lp_data type ref to object. ?
    Would the above declaration work?

  • Read reportsserver - name from registry or from system into forms 10g

    Hi
    I want to read the entry of reportsserver from registry or from the system into forms 10 g because the same form is testing and running on different hosts/ AS
    work on XP
    how to do ?
    thank you
    Norbert

    Add a new environment variable in your default.env file (or whichever .env your config is using):
    MY_REPORT_SERVER_NAME=REP_MY_IAS_SERVER
    You can then use:
    declare
    var varchar2(2000);
    begin
    tool_env.Getvar('MY_REPORT_SERVER_NAME', var);
    message(var);message(var);
    end;
    You don't need Webutil to do this.

  • How can I read the image from database into form

    hi everyone
    if I have table like this
    create table test
    (id number(10),
    pic long raw);
    in this table record
    in form If I have block non database
    how can i read the image into non database item
    I try with this code but no good
    select pic into :photo from test where id=5;
    photo its non database item kind image
    how can i invoke image into item
    thanks alooooooot

    Hello,
    You can't select image with select query. You need to create another database block from test table which has item binds with database pic column. Now in where condition in test block's property you have to write id=5. Change test block's properties UPDATE ALLOWED, INSERT ALLOWED, DELETE ALLOWED to NO. Only Query allowed property set to YES.
    Now in your particular trigger write the code
    GO_BLOCK('test');
    Execute_Query;
    please mark if it help you or correct

  • How to populate data from table into Radio button group in Form 10g

    Hi,
    I have a table with 2 columns, i.e. criteria and weight.
    The weight column will contain either 5 or 4 or 3.
    I want to design a form (10g) as follows:
    CRITERIA----------------------------WEIGHT------------------
    ------------------------HIGH----------MEDIUM-------------LOW
    Cost-------------------o
    Duration-------------------------------o
    Maintenance-------------------------o
    If the criteria contains 5, it will show as HIGH, MEDIUM for 4, LOW for 3.
    Do I need one radio group for each CRITERIA column?
    How can I populate the table and display as above programatically in the form?

  • Rating filter moves images on light table into a single pile

    Anyone seen this?
    I have a bunch of images arranged on the light table with various star ratings. The images are arranged by number of stars into various grouping - all the 5's together etc.
    When I use the filter in the browser to see only the 5's for example, the light table will show only the 5's as epxected.
    When I then select unrated or better, all the rest of the images end up in a single pile on the light table.
    If I filter on 3 or better, and then switch back, just the 2s and 1s end up in the pile, ie whatever is not displayed by the filter gets piled up.
    Is this a bug or "feature"? If it's a feature it's very annoying, unless there is some way to "lock" the position of an image on the LT.

    OK, so figured out a convoluted bodge-around:
    1. Make an album of all your selects. Select all and make a new Light Table(LT) from all.
    2. With LT selected, click the lock icon.
    3. With LT still selected, hold down apple key, and select your album of selects (step 1). This opens this album in a separate tab, but because lock icon on LT is selected, the LT viewer area is still visible.
    4. in you album of selects, type your chosen keyword search. From the resulting set, select and drag the image(s) to the LT viewer. Do this with as many keyword searches as required. When done you can optionally close the selects album tabbed browser.
    5. Use LT as you normally would. You can now toggle on/off images by keyword by typing it in search field.
    Any other methods I've tried crashes Aperture.
    Comments anyone?

  • Select * from table into table field-symbol

    Hello,
    I am trying to do a dynamic select into a dynamically defined internal table (field-symbol), but it doesn't work like I expected.
    if I try this code :
    data : p_tabname type string value 'PA9006',
          dref type ref to data .
    FIELD-symbols: <struc> TYPE ANY.
    CREATE DATA dref TYPE table of (p_tabname).
    ASSIGN dref->* TO <struc>.
    SELECT * INTO  TABLE <struc> FROM (p_tabname)  .
    I get the following error :
    <struc> is not an internal table.
    Is there any way I can make this work?
    Points will be assigned for each usefull answer.

    Hi Dries
    Just change your declaration of <struc> to as below it would work,
    field-symbols : <struc> type standard table.
    Reward points if useful.

    vo.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("EID",id);
    BindingContext cntx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    cntx.getCurrentBindingsEntry().getOperationBinding("Commit").execute();
    return null;

  • How to populate data from table to form in popup

    Hi
    I am using jdev 11.1.2.1.0
    I created a table by dragging and doping a view object data control.
    I take a pop up which invoke on click of a button
    I drop a dailog box in popup and in dialog box i drop the same view object data control.
    Now I am selecting the row of table and clicking on button to invoke popup it display the form populated by selected row of table only for the first time
    Again when I am selecting another row the popup does not displaying selected row.
    I displays only that row which i select first time.
    Please solve this problem
    Thanks

    did you set the Content Delivery for the popup to lazyUnchached?
