Show lifetime in xml forms?

Hi ,
I have created forms for News using XML Form Builder.I have also put the ValidFrom and ValidTo Fields on my Edit form for the News Authir to set Life Time for the news he will create.
The Properties value for both ValidFrom and ValidTo Fields is as follows :
ValidFrom : /Properties/tbp:VALIDFROM
ValidTo : /Properties/tbp:VALIDTO
I have enable time-based publishing for my folder where these forms/news is being saved.
But the time-based publishing is not working.
I even tried setting properties in Details -> Lifetime for the news craeted directly but its not working.
I am using EP6 SP14.
Wht could be going wrong.

In Content Management,I have created a folder "abc" under the repository "document".This folder will hold the xml files created for the news items.
The document repository is predefined and has been assigned the Repository Service "tbp".
i have enabled the time-bound publishing for the folder "abc" in its Detail section.
For the news reader , I have made the folder "abc" as "read only".
But the news reader is not able to see the news.
My xml form for the news Author has fields for entering date and time for both "Valid from" and "Valid To".
On saving the news item ,i can actually see these values in the property "LifeTime" of the news document that has been created.
I even set these ValidTo and ValidFrom at the "LifeTime" property also.
But nothing is working.
Also could u pls elaborate on ur statement :
"time-dependent publishing service requires the application property service."
Nothing is working for me.
Pls help.

Error after enabling lifetime on XML FORMS.

Hi all,
Ive created my article (XML FORMS) that was working fine. However, after add the lifetime properties (validfrom, validto) into the form, a message error Resource cannot be displayed with XMLResourceRenderer is showed when a new article is created. Does anyone know what could going wrong?

   In this folder, where you have created these xml files by mean form builder, do you have other kind of documents not created with form builder ?
   If you create other folder and then within it you create xml documents (form builder) after that display them using KM Navigation iview with a suitable layout set, do you have the same problem ?
   Have you tried to restart this server ?
   At last, you can enable debugging settings option in System Administration->System Configuration-KM-CM-User Interface-Settings-Advanced Options-Debuggings Options-edit and enter you user-id. After that refresh you browser.
   After that, when launch km navigation iview you are going to see a renderer link.

Lifetime in xml forms - final users cannot see available docs

Hi, I have a News xml forms project integrated with Approval process, and I want to integrate lifetime too.
1) How do I to enable Lifetime??
What I did is the following: I`ve enabled Lifetime in the folder containing the docs, and I setup manually the validto and validfrom properties (Details->Settings->Properties->Lifetime) of every doc, and the only people who can see the docs are those that have write permission on the folder (and myself too).
I´ve read a lots of forums and I did everything that they say but successless.
Could anybody help me??

ps: I didnt forget to publish every doc after I modified the valid to/from properties. ideas?

In my case, i had no CM System selected on Task Scheduler.
So check System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Scheduler Tasks -> Check valid from -> TimeBasePublishingPublish
(idem for Check valid until -> TimeBasePublishingUnpublish)
At that point, you must check if you have selected any CM System, if not, select one. Help Sap says that that field is optional...but, well, as you can see, I had no cm system selected, and after I selected one, the lifetime began working very well.

BPELConsole: Initiate does not show HTML or XML form to fill in variables

i am using a xsd with a cascaded import of other xsds.
If i use one import layer everything is fine.
But if i use something like:
1.xsd (imports 2.xsd)
2.xsd (imports 3.xsd)
The BPELConsole refuses to show me a HTML or XML form where i can fill in the variables...

For time being create one dummy process with request and response as a string type and call your process with the [xml]string input by creating partnerlink.
Generate xml from the schema with xml generator tools.
or use java api to invoke the process.

XML Forms Template Translation

Hi expertes!
Customer is actively using XML templates for generating news and other KM content information.
All the XML forms templates are created using XML forms builder and created in local language. The customer has customers in different countries and want to have the Templates translated so they can easily create forms in different languages. Ie: forms translated, buttons, headings and so on....
One way of creating different templates would be to open up the local template in XML forms builder and make a copy(Save as) and translate the template, generate it and thus making template available in a different language. BUT this represents a lot of work if you have lets say 5-6 languages and all templates must be translated. Not to mention if you want to add a field, you would have to do it 5-6 times.
Question?
Are there any way of "translating" the XML template like you can do with "portal content translation" so you maintain only one XML form template but it changes according to the logon language of the portal?
like adding "language filters" to one xml template

ihave found the way of translating the XML forms template for easy changing the XML forms language using Userid language. So when a user logs on and wants to create a new XML forms(news ect.) they get the form in their own language.
Found in SAP help:
Language-Dependent Resource Files
You can use the default resource files as a template for language-dependent resource files. Note the following naming conventions for language-dependent resource files:
<Preferences location>/<project name>/<project name>_<language key>.xml
For example, an item file for Italian could have the following ID:
/etc/xmlforms/SAP_DemoNews/SAP_DemoNews_it.xml
You have to create the language-dependent resource files manually (see Activities). You offcourse change the content of the xml
Question:
When we translate the form and test it, the entering template(xml) works perfect and we can generate the xml forms(news) in no time, BUT when displaying the XML forms in "SHOW" modus, it points back to a NON translated XML/XLS form. The translation of the form should also print/show the translated xml forms in SHOW modus also? Is there a way of translating the SHOW, bcs going into the forms builder is too time consuming and we can n ot do this bcs of short timeframe.

Filter Predefined Properies, Feedback Search, XML Forms Show form issues

Hi all,
I have created XML forms with XML builder and I have some questions.
1. When filtering by predefined properties I want to filter by two properties, which are the same. For example, if there is a publication with two authors and author is the predefined property, in the first field I write the name of the first author, in the second field I write the name of the second author, the result is all publications, which are by both authors and all publication, which are either by the one, or by the other.
I don't have this problem when I filter by two different predefined properties. For example the author and the year. Than the result is all publication, which are by the author AND published in the requested year.
How can I set this option to be able to filter by two same predefined properties and the relation between both properties to be AND?(only publications by both author)
2. In the Show form I have created link to the feedback, using XML Forms BUilder, but I need to write first the feedback to be able to see already existing feedbacks,
if there are any. In the ResourceRendering Form I have created link to the feedback by LayoutSet, where I can see first, if there are already existed feedbacks.
If there is any possibility to set a LayoutSet for the Show Form or any other way in the Show form to display first the existing feedbacks and than to be able to write a new.
And something else reffering to the Show form, is it possible to rate the item from Show form or at least to have link to the rating, not a link to the Details.
I have tried to create a link to the /Properties/col:rating, but it doesn't work. The link dispays the value, if it has been already rated.
3. Is it possible to search for any information in the feedbacks(to make the feedback searchable)?

XML Form Builder Show Form

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement in XML Forms, When I click a particular news item in Renderlist Form, I need to display the Show Form in the same window without opening a new window. If it is possible, please guide me, How do I do that? And also, can I specify the size of the Show Form?

Hi Venkatesh.
To realsize your ideas you have to build your own XSL or to customize the SAP generated XSL files. We build own XSL files.
1) It is possible to present the Show Form in the same window.
Go to the JAVA SCRIPT SECTION. It is mostly at page bottom. The function open_url_with_params(url,params) is used to open the Show form. In this function window.open(url,'_blank',params) is called. Replace _blank to desired value, e.g. _self.
2) If the Show Form opens in a new window it is possible to specify the size and position of this window.
To realize this go to the link references Show form (open_url_with_params). The function is called with the url and some parameters, e.g. toolbar=no, ... . Add the params width, height, top and left here.

How to use adifferent Show form to display a document created by XML forms

Hi,
I have created some XML documents using an XML form.
The XML form contains two Show forms, Show & Show2. The default is Show. When I view the XML document via a KM Docs iView the default Show form is used to display the resource.
If I wish to display the XML document using a KM Docs iView, but using the Show2 (non-default) form how is this done?
I have created Layout Sets for each of the different ways to display the XML forms, but there is no option to choose Layout Set in the KM Docs iView config.

As we use the Hyperlink "Display" in RenderList form to go to Show form similarly what kind of hyperlink shoul we use in Show Forms to get back to RenderList Forms.
We did try out with the Back option but are not getteing the desired result.

XML Forms show raw xml after transport

Hallo experts,
at the moment I am working to set up a SAP Enterprise Portal 7.4. I was able to export KM content from our old 7.0 portal.
The only problem i am experiencing is that xml forms, that I exported and imported through standard KM export / import, are showing as raw xml.
The forms are available in forms builder and I also generated a preview (compiled the form) for each form and saved after that.
There are no errors in the log that point me in a direction, so please help.
Do you have any ideas what I am missing?

XML Forms & Document Lifetime question?

Hi All
I am creating an xml form and want to use the 'ValidTo' property for document lifetime. I have created the browser and can get the date picker, however the 'ValidTo' requires date and time.
How on the xml for can you user a dateTime Picker or is there another way to do this?

Unfortunatelly, a comfortable time picker is not available which means that a user needs to enter the time manually if not the default time should be taken.

XML Forms Buidler: Rename Show and RenderListItem in Preview

Hi everybody,
how can I rename or translate the links in the preview page of XML Forms Builder. When a user clicks on "preview" in the edit form, a new windows is shown with two links:
- Show
- RenderListItem
I want to change the text for those links.
Any ideas?

Hi Raghu,
I have users with different languages set. All items are displayed in the users' language depending on the translation files of the xml forms project.
But when I click on preview in the edit form, a new window opens with two links "Show" and "RenderListItem". They are in english (the text is the ID of the form) for all users. I want to change those two link texts. If those texts can be made translatable thats fine, but chaging them to a fixed value would be enough.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.!
