Show prompt

Hi,
I want to ask you for advise. I am trying to set the Webi report including parameter by URL so that show window "Prompt" (for manual entering of parameter value) does not occure and
I can enter the value right in URL.
I am using this syntax but it does not work:
http://server:port/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ATyyKhauqPFBtDJHtciEh.E&sIDType=CUID&sRefresh=N&lsSActive=1&NAII=N
I marked out all items in window Prompt settings.
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
Check whether how you defined the prompt in child report. (I mean the prompt name in child report)
Try below
http://server:port/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ATyyKhauqPFBtDJHtciEh.E&sIDType=CUID&sRefresh=N&lsSActive=1
or
http://server:port/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ATyyKhauqPFBtDJHtciEh.E&sIDType=CUID&sRefresh=N&lsSActive="[Object to be passed to child report]"
Cheers,
Sureshbabu Aluri.

  • Konsole and Yakuake stopped showing prompt...[SOLVED]

    Hi,
Probably a very obvious but I could not find the culprit. After I updated my system (32Bit plain Arch) to KDE 4.11, Konsole and Yakuake stopped showing prompt, just a cursor on top left and most importantly, they do not accept input. Xterm and rxvt-unicode is installed, I reinstalled them, and I also checked konsolerc, but nothing is wrong there. Also, when I use krunner using Alt-F2 to summon a program like gparted with "kdesu gparted" it returns "su cannot be located, check your PATH". I check, and su is in path.
There is something I miss, but what? Help please.
    Thank you in advance.

Instead of trying to overtake an old (solved) thread, it would probably be better if you started your own.  You have already established that you likely have an entirely different issue.  So I am not entirely sure what you hoped to accomplish by posting here in the first place.

  • Showing prompt value in report - Need Urgent help

    Hi All,
I have created a query that has a prompt (it is not the dashboard prompt) that has " in Between" operator. It is on date column. When i am generating report by passing the prompt value the data is coming properly.
I have downloaded the report in excel format and it is coming perfect. But i am not able to provide the data that he has selected in the prompt.
Like on top of page i need to show - The report is genrated for Date1 to Date2.
    And then the data.
Thanks in advance for any clue. I am not able to figure out how to do this.
    Thanks
    Ashok

    Hi Ashok,
It seems it's possible, but not with the Filters view... but with Narrative View....
If you have Calendar Date (which contains all dates till today) column in your model, then... if you want to show only the date prompt values on top even though you have all other prompts...
For above mentioned criteria... you can't show only one date using filters view...
    Now... go with Narrative View,
In that particular report add Calendar Date column 2 times...
On one column apply Max(date) and on another column apply Min(Date)....
    Hide those...
Now note down the positions of these above 2 columns in criteria... say 6 & 7... respectively...
Now you write in narrative view...
Selected Date between @ and @6
So... based on the dates you selected.. the calendar date populate with the values and would hold the max and min i.e. what... selected values of your prompts...
So by using this.. you can only show.. one prompt.... not all the prompts which you have...
May helpful to you when you have .. Calendar Date only... remember ;)
    Thanks & Regards

  • Show prompts before opening a new report using action links

    Hi,
I have a report that's grouped on a particular GROUP_ID and the current month. On clicking the GROUP_ID on the report, I need to open a new report that displays data for that month but on date level. Since we have a lot of data at date level (>100,000), I wanted a drop down on the top of the report that has all dates in that month and clicking on a particular date, the data in the pivot table is fetched.
I tried using the pivot table prompt but that seems to fetch all the data first and then creates a drop down prompt. Is there a way where we could fire the query only on choosing a particular date.
Is there any other way we could do this?
    Regards.

You're saying to add a dashboard prompt for Month and Date? When opening reports using Action links, I am not able to see the prompts.
I am using Go URLs in Action links and that data for a month is >100,000. So, I want to show the data for the month and the first date of that month.
I really don't know whether such thing is possible or not. I just want to restrict the data to the first day of the month. Rest of the data is queried when user selects a different date from the drop down.

  • Chart:Display all months as labels on X axis but only show prompted values

    Hi all,
I currently have a dashboard prompt for year and month. On a bar chart, data is retrieved from Jan to the prompted month. Month is on the X axis.
So, if they choose March on the prompt, there's sales data where there is a bar for Jan, a bar for Feb, a bar for Mar on the X axis.
What I'd like to do is on the X axis show all months - Jan through Dec - as lables, however, the data presented would be from Jan to the month chosen in the prompt. In my scenario of prompting for March,
the X axis would have Jan, Feb, Mar, April,...Dec, but only Jan, Feb, Mar would have bars with their sales amounts.
I'm not trying to get all the data for the year, just what's been prompted, but, I do want all the months displayed as lables on X.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks.

  • IPhone showing prompt for installing official Youtube app

We're creating iPhone renditions of some folios we've created and published for iPad.  Instead of embedding videos into the folio we're linking to them on Youtube using "Open in Folio."  While this works well on the iPad, on the iPhone it keeps popping up the following message when the in-app browser opens:
I'm pretty sure this just started happening yesterday or today since I haven't seen it in prior testing.  It seems like it's a change on Youtube's part when detecting a small mobile device visiting their website.  Even after using the link to take me to the app store and download the Youtube app I'm still getting the same popup in the Adobe Content Viewer.  It isn't changing to a prompt asking if I'd like to open the video in the Youtube app like it does when I use "Open in Device Browser" with an Android folio rendition.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Any suggestions for a solution?  It's rather annoying to have this message popup every time you try to view a video.  I'd gladly use "Open in Device Browser", however that means that there's no easy back button or other way for the user to get back to my app/folio.
    Andrew

To me I think they need to re-vamp this app. Totally change and improve it. It has so much potential. Since the first iPhone came out they have had only 1 feature added to this app the whole time.

  • Showing Prompt values in the report

A report contains two prompts. Users want those values shown in the report, ideally in the title. Is this possible? If so, please provide some direction.
    Regards,
    JS

You can do so by using presentation variables for those prompts and then using those variable names in the report title.
Doing that will give what your users want.

  • Webi Reports Prompts Order

    Hi,
We have migrated BO 6.5.1 Webi report to Xi R2 and observed that the order of prompts is different between 6x and Xi R2. I don''t see any option to perform custorm display of prompts as custom prompt page does not show prompts defined in Universe.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Sundaresan,
I don't have experience with the 6.5 product, however, in XI, the order of the prompts appear in alphabetical order (this is not customizable).  To overcome this limitation I've seen put into practice by universe designers the use of pre-text to a prompt to force the proper order.  For instance using a numbering scheme "1.  Choose from the following Zip Codes"; "2.  Choose from the following Cities:"; etc, etc.  Doing it this way ensures that the desired order is presented properly.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Business View change does not show in existing Parameter Group

I have an existing report that includes a dynamic, cascading LOV and associated parameter group.  The LOV is based on a Business View.
I modified the Business View to limit the available values.  (Actually, I modified the Data Foundation and then updated the Business Elements, Business View, and LOV.)  I cleared the LOV using the Business View Manager, rescheduled the LOV, and received a message indicating that the refresh was Successful.  If I open the report, the old list of values are still displayed.
To test, I created a new report.  I used the Enterprise as the data source and selected the Business View used by the LOV and parameter group.  If I query the Business View, I only see the rows I expect to see after the change made to the Data Foundation, Business Elements, Business View, .....
How do I force the existing report to use the current LOV?

  • Prompt Does not Appear in Infoview

    Hi All,
I have 2 Migrated Reports with prompt from BO version 5.1.2 to BO version XIR2 SP2.
These reports show prompt in Deski but the prompt does not appear when exported to Infoview.
I have disabled the option for u2018associate a list of valuesu2019 in the universe for each field.
Also, These reports work fine in BO 5.x.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Sheeba,
Following solution might help you to resolve the issue.
Place the prompt for the LOV into the report header and republish the affected report to the XI repository. Once this has been done, the affected report should then refresh the LOV properly and display the correct values again as originally designed.

  • Prompts appearing for successful instance

I would like to have some help on this issue where the instance of a webI report when opened shows prompts for parameter.
we have a few webI reports based on universes of SQL DB. we use a lot of parameters as Prompts in the report.
And schedule this under Administrator account, instance is generated. Now we open it as a user name u201Charreo1u201D who has got View on demand rights defined properly.
This user on opening the instance gets a prompt and he is only able to view the report by choosing the parameters.
This issue also occurs if the user schedules the instance and the administrator tries to view the instance. He will be getting the prompts.
BOE XI R2 SP2. SQL DB Windows Environment
    Any pointers for this issue?

Looks ike the report was saved with "Refresh on open", that's why it prompts you everytime you open it.
Edit report and do "Save As", uncheck "Refresh on Open" and report won't prompt you unless you hit refresh button.

  • Date Prompt using Calendar view

    Hi,
My requirement is to filter data for a date column using Prompt. I want to show Prompt as a calendar for the date column. Data type for that column is "Timestamp" in Physical Layer and I changed it into "Date" data type in BMM layer.
I have created a prompt and after selecting a date from the calendar, it throwed the following error
"A date value was expected (received "2010-09-01 00:00:00")."
To have a try, I used following case statement in prompt Column:
case when 1=0 then "Booking Date Calendar"."Calendar Date" else TIMESTAMP '2009-01-01 00:00:00' END
Its taking "01/01/2009 12:00:00 AM" after selecting date from this modified prompt, but the data i have in date column is "1/1/2009".
I tried multiple ways so that i can see results, but i am not able to pass the correct value to the report from prompt.
Can you please tell me how to solve this problem?

  • LOV custom sorting in prompts for calender month

    Hello Everyone,
I want to do sorting in prompts in webi for Calender Month in the form (Jan,Feb,Mar....)
Whereas, it comes alphabetically As (Apr,Aug and so on....) i want to know that can we find the solution for the same.
I also want to know if yes can we do it in webi itself or we will have to do it on Information Design Tool?

Hi Foram. I, too, am using HANA as my backend. Here's one way you can sort your data-driven prompts that appear in Web Intelligence:
Open your business layer within the Information Design Tool.
Verify that the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g., "Month") has been defined in your business layer.
Select the "Parameters and Lists of Values" button.
In the "List of Values" frame, press the down arrow and then select "List of values based on business layer objects".
Give the the list an intuitive name; e.g., "Month LOV".
On the Definition tab, press the "Edit Query..." button.
Drag the column to be displayed in the Webi prompt (e.g, "Month") to the Result Objects frame.
    Press the "Sort dialog..." button.
In the Sort dialog box, press the "Insert Sort Object" button.
Select the column to sort on; e.g., "Month" and then press the OK button.
Verify the sort type; e.g., "Ascending".
    Press the OK button.
Press the Preview button to confirm the results.
Save and publish the universe to your repository.
    Open your Webi report.
    Enter into Design mode.
    Open the Query Panel.
    Select the appropriate query.
In the Query Filters frame, select the prompt (e.g., "Month") and press the "Show prompt properties" button.
In the Prompt Properties dialog box, in the Prompt Properties frame, make sure "Prompt with List of Values" is selected.
    Press the OK button.
    Press the Close button.
    Press the Refresh button.
Confirm that the prompt (e.g., "Month") is sorted properly.
    Hope this helps!
    Chris
