Webi Reports Prompts Order

Hi,
We have migrated BO 6.5.1 Webi report to Xi R2 and observed that the order of prompts is different between 6x and Xi R2. I don''t see any option to perform custorm display of prompts as custom prompt page does not show prompts defined in Universe.
Please help.
Thanks.

Sundaresan,
I don't have experience with the 6.5 product, however, in XI, the order of the prompts appear in alphabetical order (this is not customizable).  To overcome this limitation I've seen put into practice by universe designers the use of pre-text to a prompt to force the proper order.  For instance using a numbering scheme "1.  Choose from the following Zip Codes"; "2.  Choose from the following Cities:"; etc, etc.  Doing it this way ensures that the desired order is presented properly.
Thanks,
John

  • Webi document prompts order from Java SDK does not refresh correctly?

    Hi
I'm developping a standalone command-line Java program which will schedule a report with custom prompt values.
I am having a problem with Webi prompts ordering acquired from the SDK.
We are running BO XI R2 SP4 under Windows on Tomcat servers.
    Here is the problem:
I have a Webi report called "Articles Racines" in a "Tests SDK" directory.
This report uses two prompts named "Type Article :" and "Code Marque :" (in this order).
Java SDK (code below) returns the right prompts in the right order.
Now, in Infoview, I modify the report in order to change the order of the prompts (in the "Properties" tab) making "Code Marque :" the first and "Type Article :" the second one and save the changes.
When I run the report, prompt order has changed but the prompts retrieved from the Java SDK are still in the old order.
I noticed that if I update the name of both prompts, the prompts retrieved from the SDK now are in the right order (with the updated names).
Am I doing something wrong? Is it a known issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    Guillaume
PS : I am aware that "select *" are very bad but I am still in research stage of developpment.

    Here's the reason why:
Web Intelligence document prompting is handled properly if you open the doc using the ReportEngine Java (REBean) SDK.
When you set prompts and schedule, you'd first open the doc using REBean, set the prompts, then copy over the prompt values you've set to the IWebi you're scheduling using the PromptsUtil.populateWebiPrompts(...,...) helper method.
So the InfoObject IWebi doesn't know about the actual ordering of the prompts in the document itself - it's just receiving the prompts in order as it's fed from PromptsUtil.
It's not recommended to assume that the IWebi.getPrompts() will return a non-empty collection.  The Web Intellligence document must be first opened in ReportEngine and the prompting values set using PromptsUtil to fill the collection.

  • SAP BusinessObject Mobile WebI Report Prompt Issue

    Hi,
I have problem to view the Prompt value in Long Text for WebI report in my iPad. The SAP BusinessObject Mobile application is on version 5.1.12.
We are using BI Platform 4.1, and the WebI report is connected to Bex Query using BICS connection.
Below are the settings that I had done:
    Setting of Characteristic in BW:
Setting of Characteristic – ZBPARTNER in BEx Query Designer:
Below are the report Prompt result in BI LaunchPad and BI Mobile:
    Example data:
Business Partner ID 123 has description in Long Text (DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S) and Short Text (DO NOT USE - KOC).
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in WebI is showing Long Text as expected.
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC ALLIANZ SIGORTA A.S".
Business Partner (on top of ZBPARTNER) in Mobile Apps is showing Short Text:
For example, you can see the long text "DO NOT USE - KOC".
I need the Prompt value is the BusinessObject Mobile to be display with Long Text, but I cannot find any configuration to achieve this.
Is anyone encounter similar issue and can provide me some suggestion?
    Thank you in advance.

  • How to restrict values of Dimensions in Webi report prompt

    Hi
I need to create a WebI report for a set of Business users. We have several thousands of Agencies. Business Users want to see only the agencies they work with (about 100) in the prompt. This way they need not go through thousands of agencies they dont work with. I tried to use List Of Values option but that didnt give me desired result.  Please let me know how to restrict values in prompt to few values from the n number of values available in database.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there is no such step-by-step!
I would encourage you to consult documentation and search for terms 'row level restriction' in the help guides.

  • Web reports prompts me to input username and password in bw

    Hi all.
When I access web reports from bw.
It will open a IE, then go to one url ( which is located in ITS ), and IE prompts me to input a valid username and password.
Its very strange, because I have already logged on that BW.
Is it possible to avoid this prompt ?

    Gu,
Can you give us the URLs that you are using , is it that the URLs are different ?
    The URL is usually
    http://<yourserver>:port/sap......
    assuming that the URLs are
URL 1 ( which is currently opening in IE )
    http://<yourserver1>:port/sap......
URL 2 ( for which the login is being asked for)
    http://<yourserver2>:port/sap......
if yourserver1 and yourserver2 are different , then a logon is required.
    Hope it helps..

  • WebI Report Prompt

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a report prompt where a user selects a date prior to opening the report. The user selection then sets a variable that I plan to use in a formula. I do not want to use the user selected field as a filter to the report. For example, I have a date prompt. The user selects '1/1/2011' and it is set in the 'MaxReportDate' variable within the report. I then use the 'MaxReportDate' in a MaxPrice formula:
MaxPrice = Price where ReportDate = MaxReportDate.
Is this functionality possible in Web Intelligence? Please help!

    hi,
If you have access to Designer (Universe), please follow the below steps.
    1) Create an Object named MaxReportDate
        Definition : @prompt('Enter MaxReportDate','D',,mono,free)
Click Tables > Specify relevant table (i.e. table from which you are using other objects)
        click ok
Please include this new object in your WEBI Query panel as well.
Now your formula will work as last one MaxReportDate will be direct object instead of variable.
MaxPrice = Price where ReportDate = MaxReportDate.

  • Prompt Hierarchy in BO WEBI Report

    Hi,
currently we have to implement a functionality in BO WEBI report Prompt where Network and Equipment 2 prompt  fields
    are present.
User want if they select a Network then the Equipment that belong to that selected Network should shown in Drop Down Values
    of Equipment Prompt.
This is a type of Prompt Hierarchy.
Source for the WEBi Report is BW Bex Query. and there is no Hierarchy maintained in Network and Equipment at Bex and
    Bw system as well.
Please let me know how can i achieve this.
    we are Using SAP-BI4.0 solution.
    Regards
    Atul

    Hi Atul,
You can achieve this by dragging these two fields in the filter bar section of the webi. then apply variables on these fields.
    hope it helps

  • How to Sort prompt date in BO Webi report

    Hi Gurus,
I am facing a critical issue in selecting date prompt in my webi report.
Please find the below image as the dates are not getting sorted as per year.
    Please suggest solution for this.
    Regards
    Bikash

    Hi Bikash,
Create a predefined filter in the Universe. The edit the date object by changing the LOV SQL, ordering it on the date field. Now click on the option 'Export with Universe" in the propereties tab and the export the universe.
      Hope it should wok.

  • Changing Webi Report Data Provider With Prompt

    Hi All,
I am trying to change Data Source of a Webi Report using RESTful Web Services. Fo this I have referred code on Changing Dataproviders for a Webi Report using RESTful Web Services Post.
I am able to change data source for Webi Reports without Prompts but it is not working for Webi Reports with Prompts.
    Can anybody help me??
    Thanks & Regards
    Swapnil Kulkarni

    Hello Swapnil,
In order to perform a change data source, you have to answer the prompts (like in the regular Webi UI). In this kind of case, RESTful webservice will send back the list of parameters needed after you submitted your target mappings. Then, you have to answer prompts and send all the information (mappings + prompts answers).
    Does it make sense?
    Best regards,
    Anthony

  • Webi Prompt Order

I am trying to use the Rebean SDK to set the order of prompts in a XI3.1 SP3 Webi document.  This document does contain universe prompts, i.e. a table has a self join with @Prompt().  Looking through the Javadocs, I see a PromptOrder class, but it only seems to be accessible through DataProvider.getPromptOrder().  My goal is to set the prompt order for the document, not the data provider.  Is this possible?

If u have prompts at the universe level then u can follow the below prompt declaration .
In the @prompt declaration at the universe level @Prompt('Enter Product Family','A','Product Hierarchy\Product Family',multi,free,Not_Persistent,{'Kiwi','Guava'},User:0).  In this prompt declaration i had used an additional parameter at the end named User :0; so this will ensure that this will be coming first. But this will work only if you use that user:1 for the other prompt as well. if u do not use user:  definition for all the prompts of that report then it will not work again.

    Hi,
We are using BI 7.0, release 701 and level 008. We are facing problem in WAD (web report output). When ever we do 'Select filter' for key figures and 'change the order' of key figures, it does not get reflected in new order. Though drag and drop of key figures is working.

  • WebI report based on Universe upon SAP BEx Queries:Prompt issue

    Hi,
I am creating Web Intelligence report using Universe based on SAP Bex Queries. In WebI report I created a filter condition as I need to run report based on two specidc dates. I need to schedule report to run 2nd of every month to show data for last month. At present I have the following filter : date between 'Start Date' and 'End Date'. 'Start Date' should always be 'first date of previous month' and End Date be always must be 'Last date of previous Month'. How to do this. The solution I thought would be to create  variables at report/universe level ('first date of previous month' and 'Last date of previous Month') and use in the filter using 'Object from this Query' option. But this 'Object from this Query' option is missing in the prompt. Is there any work around to achieve this.? Could you please help me.
    Nanda Kishore

    Hi all,
I have a related question too.
I have 2 queries and need a Combined BEx query written on this for reporting. (WebI)
In the 2 queries, there is a Field which needs to be restricted.
But this field should not be restricted in the Combined BEx query.
So I thought of restricting the Field at the report level. But in this case, the user gets a prompt to enter a value for the field.
And this is not desirable as per the requirement.
COuld you please tell me if there is another way of handling this without the user being prompted to enter a value while the report is being run, but still I need selection at the Field level.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • SAP BO 4.1 Webi report sample with prompts to try Restful api

I was not able to find, in the report demo samples available in the SAP BO 4.1 installation, a Webi report with prompts.
I found many Webi reports samples but all are without prompts.
I need at least one Webi report sample with prompts to try the Restful API http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/parameters and http://localhost:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/7090/schedules with parameters body.
Where can I found such webi sample?
    Thanks,
    Riccardo

As you have BI 4.1 installed, you could design a sample webi report using Webi Rich Client tool.
Open Webi rich client, select the sample eFashion universe drag few objects in the query and a filter. Set the filter as a prompt and save the report to Enterprise.
Now you could now use this sample report for your handson on REST SDK.

  • Can we generate one report tab for each of the prompt values selected in the bobj 4.0 webi report.

can we generate one report tab which filters
with each prompt value selected in bobj 4.0 webi report.

    Hi Shrinidhi ,
It can be achievable with static tabs created for each LOV .But this is not recommended because , object values can change dynamically .
It is good idea to use section on prompt object in the report .With sections great feature available is in larger report it’s easy to navigate using map. It displays the section tree. You can select the particular LOV to navigate.
