Show the elapsing time

Hi all..
I am trying to create a small application where I set the time from the control. In that particular amount of time I need to do the processing and should stop later. I also want to show the elapsing time.
I would like to explain it with an example. Suppose I want to send read query to the instrument continuously for 50sec. I also want to show the time countdown and my process to take place. And once time is = 50sec the process should stop.
Awaiting the response from u all..thanx

Here is an example

  • How to keep Nano showing the elapsed time of song?

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to keep the page that shows the elapsed time / time remaining on instead of flipping back to the album artwork in 10 seconds. I need this function. any help would be appreciated.

I don't think you can, sorry. But I have emailed Steve and sent feedback to Apple to fix various issues: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodnano.html

  • Direct Path Read waits are not showing in Elapsed time

    Hi,
I'm having a question regarding interpretation of a SQL trace file. I'm on Oracle 11.2.0.1 HP/UX 64 bit.
Following is only the overall result of the trace (it is quite big).
My question is about the Direct Path Read waits which are totallizing 268s of wait but are not showing in the fetch elapsed time (49.58s) and are not showing anywhere in the trace except in the overall result.
I do not understand why it is not part of the Elapsed time...
For info, the trace is for the specific session that was performing all the required queries to display an online report. The database is accessed by the Java application using Hybernate.
The trace was obtained by the following SQL:
exec sys.dbms_monitor.serv_mod_act_trace_enable(service_name=>'SYS$USERS',waits=>true,binds=>true);Then I query the sessions to find the one created by the application.

I suggest you try the following to narrow down things:
    1. Open the RAW trace file and check the cursor numbers of the "direct path reads" - check if you can find any references for those cursor numbers manually. The cursor numbers are those numbers behind the WAIT #<xx>, and you can check if you find any other entry unequal to WAIT #<xx> with the same #<xx>, for example EXEC #<xx> or FETCH #<xx>
A short primer on how to interpret the raw trace file can also be found in MOS document 39817.1
    2. Run the RAW trace file through alternative free trace file analyzers like SQLDeveloper (yes it can process raw trace files), OraSRP or Christian Antognini's TVD$XTAT. If you have My Oracle Support access you can also try Oracle's own extended Trace Analyzer (TRCA / TRCANLZR). See MOS Note 224270.1
Check if these tools tell you more about your specific wait event and oddities with the trace file in general.

  • How can I see the elapsed time on imported video?

I'm trying to make a video in iMovie 11'.  I would like to be able to view the elapsing time of the song I imported so I can match video footage with audio.  With the older version of iMovie, I could see a time clock on the bottom of the video I was importing, so I could match the mouth to the lyrics.
In the older iMovie version, the entire audio would play when only part of the clips had been imported by me.  Now with this version, the song stops playing when the clips stop.  So partial completion of the video, doesn't allow a full time clock of the total song to allow me to match the voice on the audio with the film of someone singing.
In short, I can't find the running time clock for the video player in the project library.
Can you help me with thsi?  The help menu has not anweered my questions.
    Thanks.
    Dave Demoise

I agree with Bengt W. There are many reasons, even in a simple movie, to want to know the timing of things. This is a surprisingly frustrating product. For want of timing information, you are requiring your users to pay $300?
In my situation, I took some video of a show (with the performers permission) with an iPad and an iPod.  All I want to do is make a movie with one video as the main position with a series of cutaway clips from the other. It is incredibly frustrating to do this without knowing where you are within each clip.
When helpful and capable forum participants like we have here have to spend time explaining how best to make do with a product, it's a clear indication of a fault with the product. Now, I either have to spend extra time in iMovie making due with this crippled interface, or I have to spend time looking for an alternative product.
    Consider this a feature request!

  • How do I pause the elapsed timer in keynote

I have made a Keynote Presentation and at the 90 minute point I want to have a 10 minute break
is there a way that I can PAUSE the "elapsed time Timer" in the presenters mode? and then restart it when I restart the presentation?
Each of my slides have notes that show me ( as the presenter) where I should be  in the 3 hours presentation and If they dont come back from the break after exactly 10 minutes...then the times on my slides wont match the elapsed timer... so I'd just rather pause the elapsed timer..
    any help is appreciated

is there a way that I can PAUSE the "elapsed time Timer" in the presenters mode? and then restart it when I restart the presentation?
No, the timer runs continuously to inform you the duration at any point in the presentation.
As this is a single presentation, the countdown timer must continue to provide accurate timing.  If you have a break during the presentation at 90 minutes, and reconvene when the timer shows 100 minutes, you know exactly where you are in the presentation.
then the times on my slides wont match the elapsed timer
Change the information to show the correct elapsed time.

  • How to show the processing time taken for a BPEL process in BAM report.

    Hi All,
I have the data as below in the Data object. I would like to show the time taken for each order to complete in the report.
instance Id     order Id     product Name     product Code     price     status     instance Time      updaterName
    1360010     ord004     Guitar     prod003     2000     requested     9/22/2008 12:12:11 PM     Invoke_InsertSalesOrder
    1360010     ord004     Guitar     prod003     2000     Approved     9/22/2008 12:15:11 PM     Invoke_OrderStatusUpdate
This data comes from simple BPEL process where sensors are configured at the start and end of BPEL process. Also have a human task activity in between to create the time difference.
In Enterprise link design studio, I tried to calculate the time difference using expression calculator and store it as calculated field. But that doesn't seems to work because when I execute the plan, second sensor data reaches only after human approval whereas first sensor data would be waiting for calculation and ultimately nothing comes into data object.
How and where the calculation be done to show the processing time in the report. Please someone throw some light on this.
    Regards
    Jude.

I would suggest modifying your data object so that the data can all be in a single row and use the sensor at the end of the process to upsert (update) the row created by the sensor at the start of the process. The time difference between two fields in the same row is then an easy calculation on a BAM report -- No EL plan should be needed.

  • How can I display the elapsed time of the course using Advanced Actions in Captivate?

I have a Captivate course which is approximately 35 minutes in length. On each slide I would like to display to the user, the current elapsed time.
    EXAMPLE:
    25/35 minutes complete
The 35 would remain static, so I have been working with the elapsed time system variable in CP: elapsed:$$cpInfoElapsedTimeMS$$
I can't seem to get the variable to properly display the elapsed time in minutes, rather than miliseconds. Attached is a screen shot of my advanced action.
Can anyone provide guidence regarding how I should structure this differntly?

I talked about that Timer widget in that blog post and pointed to another one:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/timer-widget-to-stress-your-learners
If you are on CP7, you'll have this widget also as an interaction, which means it is compatible with HTML5 output. Amd there is also an hourglass interaction, with similar functionality but... did not blog about that one
PS: Check Gallery\Widgets to find all widgets. Default path is set to Interactions

  • How can I get the elapse time for execution of a Query for a session

    Hi ,
How can I get the elapse time for execution of a Query for a session?
Example - I have a report based on the procedure ,when the user execute that it takes say 3 min. to return rows.
Is there any possible way to capture this session info. for this particular execution of query along with it's execution elapse time?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
You can use the dbms_utility.get_time tool (gives binary_integer type value).
1/ Initialize you time and date of beginning :
    v_beginTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
    2/ Run you procedure...
    3/ Get end-time with :
    v_endTime := dbms_utility.get_time ;
4/ Thus, calculate elapsed time by difference :
    v_elapsTime := v_endTime - v_beginTime ;
This will give you time elapsed in of 100th of seconds...
Then you can format you result to give correct print time.
    Hope it will help you.

  • How can I get Messages to show the correct time for read receipts?

Messages in Mountain Lion shows the wrong time for read receipts. For example, my iPad will show a message was read at 3:37 pm but if I open Messages on my MacBook, the read receipt shows the time that I opened the Messages app as opposed to the time the message was actually read. This is not too much of an issue if my iPad is handy, but really, shouldn't Messages on my MacBook be able to show the correct time the message was read? It syncs all the other infromation with Messages on iOs.
I should mention that if Messages is running on my MacBook when the recipient reads the message, then it does show the correct time the message was read. It's if Messages was not running and I re-launch it that the read receipt time gets mixed up.

    HI,
As far as I am aware Messages marks or time stamps an iMessage at the time of receipt rather then the time you got around to reading it.
I will admit that in most cases reading and receiving as the app opens will be near enough the same time in some conversations.
Adding Time Stamps to Chat is what iChat has always done particularly with AIM based Chats.
The "Sync" in Messages is "display on all devices"  and after that each iMessages is dealth with separately on each device.
There is no syncing of deleting/dimssing an iMessages or having read it on another device.

  • My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time  and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed.  My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

My iphone is showing the wrong time and date. All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed...  to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time.  The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time.  The phone can not find my time zone any more.   The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time.  What is  happening? Ideas?

    just sorted mine went to
    settings-mail,contacts,calender-timezone support
then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london
    this did sort mine

  • When using historical datalogging, is it possible to hide the elapsed time between tag updates when viewing on a graph?

When my process stops, I am reading an array of tags(datapoints) and writing the max and average to memory tags for data logging. However, when viewing the data, the elapsed time between cycles spreads the data out unevenly. It could be 90 seconds between cycles or maybe two hours or longer. Is there a way to convert the time axis data to be just consecutive datapoints?? It would be like logging data based on a particular condition happening rather than time-based trending. Should I try to use the data set logger examples instead?? I would prefer to use the built-in datalogging features rather than writing to databases.

You could export your data to a spreadsheet file and then actually write then again in a second database using this example program in the devzone
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/5A921A403438390F86256B9700809A53?opendocument
Using this program (if you don't want to modify it, which would take a reasonable amount of time specially if you are not familiar with VI-Based Server) You would have to generate a collum in your spreadsheet file to be the timestamp, it would be a artificial timestamp.
What you could do in your application is to first save the data to file and then read from file, substitute the collum timestamp for the "artificial one" and then write it to the database, again, with that you would not need to modify this program.
However if you have the time and is willing to work with VI-based server you could try to modify the example program to be adapted for your purposes.
    I hope it helps

News feed on my Facebook app doesn't show the correct time.  Can the time be set?

Does your phone show the correct time?
If not, change the time on your phone, see if it helps.
If it does, then sign out, sign back in. If that fails, the delete and reinstall. If that fails, then contact Facebook, as they're the developers of the app and will have the proper documentation to help you further.

  • Music scrollbar doesn't show the correct time

I have this really annoying problem on my Ihone 4. It doesn't happen all the time though. I always listen to audiobooks en aometimes when I have to take a call or whatever it will restart from 00:00 this is not the problem but when I then want to use the scrollbar to fastforward to where I was it will show the wrong time so basically the audiobook is normally 18:54 but when I scroll to 18:40 it will just be at the beginning of chapter 1. This is really annoying because you have to keep relistening to the first chapters.

I've had FCP lock up on me several times.  The cause seems to always be 1.  That I've got a ton of unrendered stills in the timeline, 2. The project is rather large, with a lot of old sequences.  FCP can only access so much ram.  Stills are only virtual media clips until you render them, but FCP had to create them and hold them in a cache until you do render them.  FCP remembers, IN ACTIVE RAM, every cut, transition, every sequence whether active or not, every filter used, audio levels, all the clip info itself-- and a bunch of stuff you or I will never know.
When you start reaching the limits of what FCP can handle, wonky stuff starts happening.

  • XFCE's Clock shows the wrong time...

XFCE's clock shows the wrong time constantly (it always shows the GMT time), but whenever I run hwclock -r, it tells me the correct time. Can anyone help fix it?

Well, I think I found what was wrong at last. It seems that the timezone wasn't set in the rc.conf, even though the TZ variable was set. I changed it, but will have to restart in a bit to see if it works.
