Show WBS Element as Default in Travel Expenses - Cost Assignment

Dear All,
As per Standard Cost Center is shown as default in drop down in Travel Expenses. I want to enable WBS element as default.
How can I  make wbs element as default drop down.
Regards,
Kamal

Hi Kamal,
The standard SAP has Cost Center as the Default in the Cost Assignment. If you want to make the WBS as "Default", then coordinate with the ABAP to make it customise for the WBS as default.
Hope this helps.

  • Settlement of order -WBS Element

    Dear,
    Dear,
Budget: Amount of resources allocated under a particular head in a financial year.
Budget Control: Having/ creating a control on the resources allocated in a financial year.
Original Budget: The initial budget that you have allocated to a WBS element.
Supplement of Budget: One time/ discrete increment in the original budget.
Return of Budget: Taking out the unutilized portion of the budget.
Transfer of Budget: Transferring the budget among two or more expense heads.
Project Definition: A framework for a business undertaking with a fixed goal to achieve with given resources.
The project definition contains dates and organizational information that are binding for the entire project.
WBS Element: Individual structural element in a work breakdown structure (WBS) representing the hierarchical organization of an R/3 project. Describes either a concrete task or a partial one that can be further subdivided.
    Proposed Business Process
Assume there are seven expense heads in maintenance department. There may be addition of expense head in near future.
Based on the maintenance heads, maintenance department will create a project in project system. This project will be used for ‘statistical purpose’ only & will not have any financial implication.
Upon creation of a project, WBS elements will be created as per the expense heads. So for each expense head, there will be one top level WBS element. Again these WBS elements will be divided in twelve WBS elements. These twelve WBS elements represent twelve calendar months.
Budget will be allocated to each WBS element & the WBS element will be released from the project.
Maintenance department will create maintenance orders as per their work requirements. These orders will be settled to cost centre, which is maintained in the settlement rule. Also WBS element will have to be mentioned in each order so that the budget control can take place. So as to capture cost from each maintenance order, the WBS element field will be made ‘mandatory field’ in maintenance order.
So when a maintenance order is released, system will do a budget check against the WBS element mentioned. If the budget check status is OK, order is released or else it will stopped from release. If the order is stopped from release, maintenance department will have to supplement the budget. Upon supplementing, the order is released again & the maintenance cost such as, labour, material costs can be booked on the order. Again the order cost is settled to cost centre & at the same time, budget is consumed from the respective WBS element.
Every year, maintenance department will copy the previous year’s project so as to save time & efforts to create project & WBS elements. And the maintenance department will assign the budget allocated to each WBS element in a financial year.
It is also possible to return the unutilised budget or, transfer of budget from one WBS element to another.
    Create a project CJ20N
    Create WBS element CJ20N
    Assign Budget to WBS elementsKO22
    Display assigned Budget KO23
    Supplement Budget KO24
    Display Supplement budget KO25
    Return Budget KO26
    Display Return budget KO27
    Transfer of budget CJ34
Hope u wull get ur answer

  • Report: Statistical WBS elements with assets assigned to them - actual cost

    Hi all,
I would like to run a report that gave me this info:
    WBS Element (all statistical)
    Assets assigned to each WBS
    Actual costs
It would be perfect CJI3 but it doesn't show assets. In AM I haven't see either any report that shows WBS elements...
    any ideas???

    Hi
There is not a standard report which can cater to your requirements. You need to develop one.
You can take the refernece from CNS41 report for development. Some of the fields you need are PRPS-XSTAT for statistical WBS and will have to use tables ANLA and ANLC to fetch asset master data.

  • Problem in MRP run with Project/WBS Element

    Dear PP Gurus,
I want to run MRP thro Project/WBS Element.
I have created WBS Element & WBS BOM for Material. Then created sales order for that material and assign WBS element to sales order.
Maintain Planning Strategy 21 ( Make to Order/Project) for Main Mtl.
Now when I run MRP with MD51 then no requriements are generated for main material and its components.
Is there any thing missing from PS-PP & SD point of view?
Pl guide me for the same.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Umesh

    Dear Nagrajan,
    Thanks for your reply.
There is no safety stock & un-restricted stock of that material.
Also I don't want to assign this mtl to that wbs Network. If I assign the Material to WBS network then network req.is generated and thro Normal MD02 MRP generates the requirements.
& in the plan order it will not show WBS Element
But My req. is I want to run MRP with  MD51 & want WBS element as account asignment tab in plan order & production order too.
IS there any config. missing from PP/ PS / SD ?
Pl guide me for the same.
    Thanks ,

  • Profit Center not updating for WBS Element

    Hello Gurus,
We have a scenario in which we have level 1 WBS element to which their is no cost and revenue. Now we have level 2 WBS element which is billing element to which we are posted some actula cost and revenue. Below this we are creating level 3 , 4 WBS elements and posting some actual cost to it  (not billing elements).
So we are running RA and Settlement for this billing WBS.
Now if over project is over so we are assigning TECO to this Level 2 billing WBS. When we are running POC then it is 100 %. But when we are running settlement then it is showing error as Maintain Settlement Rule for XXX WBS element (level3 , level 4)
As we are not maintaining any settlement rule for level 3 , level 4. We are only assigning settlement rule for Level 2 (billing) to PSG.
So how to solve this issue ?
    Regards
    Keshav

    Hi,
The answer is there in your query itself. You say that you are booking some actual costs on the WBS elements on level 3. Since you are incurring costs on these WBS elements these costs need to be settled to some receiver. Either the WBS on level 2, which is a billing element or to some PSG. Since there is no settlement rule defined for these WBS elements at level 3 system is throwing this error.
Maintain a proper settlement rule for the WBS elements in question and then run the settlement. It should work.
    Regards,
    Gokul

  • Report:actual costs:statistical wbs elements and assets assigned to them

    Actual costs

Thanks for your reply but this is not the question.
    The question is:
    Example:
I have 100 WBS Elements. Each of them has an average of 5 assets assigned. (what makes 500 assets)
I post lot of invoices in each asset.
I would like a report that tells me at once the total actual amount posted in each ASSET and group those costs by each WBS element.
    Thanks and regards,

  • WBS elements deletion

I deleted some of the WBS elements a week ago.
Now I still see them under the search list,
Is it because they are marked for deletion and not deleted actually,
If yes what should I do to remove them.
    Please reply.

    Hi Ramesh,
    The scene is like this.
End users created WBS elements starting with H.****
Then after I assigned project code H for tht co.code.
after applying project coding mask [OPSJ] those WBS elements automatically got deleted, I m not sure if they are deleted or not but when i go to CJ02 and enter that WBS it says it does not exists. but it still shows those WBS elements under ths search criteria.
I reffered to OSS notes as per it they have corrected this problem in version I am using.
Please guide if you have any idea.

  • Create WBS Element under Specific existsing Level1 WBS Element

    Hi friends,
In a Project definition, once the User creates the Level 1 WBS Element,
I need to Create a Level 2 WBS Element by default. Please suggest me any function modules or BAPI
to Create the WBS element under Particular WBS Element.
    I checked the BAPI BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI
I hope it creates WBS elements, but not under Specific WBS element.
I am checking the function module CJWB_CREATE_PRPS
Please suggest how to go ahead.........
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ganesh

wbs cant b created under network,
just go to cj20n, select network/activity, then right click there, u ll never see any wbs element in create tab.
Graphically network is above a wbs in cj20n, does not mean that wbs is coming under network.

  • Attach a network to several WBS elements`

    hi to all,
i would just like to ask if its possible for a standard network to be assigned to several WBS elements? this is because i have a Standard WBS structure with elements having similar activities, i wonder if i could just create a single network then assign them to SEVERAL WBS elements and not just one.

    Hi,
To assign the standard network Activities to multiple standard WBS elements please follow the procedure below:
    1. Go to Tcode :CN02 (If the network is already created with CN01 or else create with Tcode CN01)
    2. Select the Network in question.
    3. hit F5, this will take you to the standard network Header.
Assign the WBS Element where this network header should be asisgned.
    4. Hit Shift+F1, this will take you to the screen where internal, external activities can be entered. Please select the relevent tab. And enter all the activities.
    5. By default all the activities are assigned to the WBS element mentioned in the Network header, this can  be seen by scrolling little right in the same screen under the column standard WBS Element.
    6. Pick the column Standard WBS element and drop it next to Operation short text.
    7. Now identify the activities to which the different WBS elements need to be assigned. Either select them from the list or you may refer to Tcode. CJ93.
    Hope it is clear now.
    Reward points if found useful.

If we assign the return order to the WBS element, the credit memo automatically has the WBS element assigned to it or do we have to manually assign the credit memo to a WBS element? if yes how?

  • WBS Element vs investment order

    Good Day,
Please can someone explain the following..................
I have CO objects a WBS element and an investment order and I have posted budgeted values to these CO Objects.  I have posted actual values to these Co object via the MM and FI-AA module.
When I display the budgeted values for the WBS Element and the invesment order for the fields BPJA-WTJHR the vaules are positive.  Once the actual values are posted to the WBS Element and investment order the values are displayed differently on the table COSP-(WTG001-WTG016).
For the WBS Element the values are dispalyed as negative on table COSP -(WTG001-WTG016) and for the investment order the values are displayed as postive but both values for the different CO objects are expenditure which has occured via the MM and FI-AA modules  Therefore can someone please explain to me why these values are displayed differently yet the budgeted values are displayed the same.
Your soonest response would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Ropetra

    Hi
please gop through this notes it may be help full for you...............
    Planning and Budgeting Measures
    Use
Using this function, you can plan and budget investment measures, even if they are not already assigned to an investment program.
    Integration
All of the planning and budgeting functions of orders or projects are at your disposal for the corresponding measures. For more information, see the documentation for the R/3 components,  Internal Orders (CO-OM-OPA) and  Project System (PS) .
Orders or WBS elements that are assigned to investment programs cannot receive their overall budget by means of the budgeting functions in CO and PS, when the Budget distribution indicator is set in the program position to which they are assigned. Instead, they are limited to receiving their overall budget only by means of the budgeting functions in Investment Management.
    Prerequisites
Certain restrictions apply when an investment program type is entered in the budget profile of an order or WBS element. When this is the case, the order or WBS element cannot receive overall budget unless you assign it (or a higher-level WBS element ) to an investment program position. Until you make this assignment to a program position, the fields for the overall budget and/or annual budget for orders or WBS elements are not ready for input and cannot be changed.
    Activities
To plan or budget orders, choose Internal orders ® Planning ® Overall values ® Change or Budget ® Original budget ® Change.
To plan or budget WBS elements, choose Investment projects ® Planning ® Total costs ® Change or Budgeting ® Original budget ® Change.

  • Issue on distribution of quantity to WBS elements in invoice

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have an issue with the distribution of quantity to WBS elemements in SAP.
There is a purchase order with 6 line items. For the first line item a quantity of 3 is ordered and the same quantity of 3 is assigned to 7 WBS elements in the account assignment tab. There were 3 invoices created for this line item. For a particular WBS element a quantity of 1.050 was assigned and when we drilled down through the 3 invoices we found only a quantity of 1.028 is assigned to this Particular WBS element. Can someone please tell me as to why this mismatch has happened.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Raman,
I am sorry but this is not the case . There are 7 WBS elements used for this PO. The quantity is distributed to 7 wbs elements as follows.
                                          Percentage                    Quantity
    1st WBS element-                 8.7                             0.261
    2nd WBS element                 17.4                            0.522
    3rd WBS element                  18.2                            0.546
    4th WBS element                  8.8                             0.264
    5th WBS element                   6.4                             0.192
    6th WBS element                   5.5                             0.165
    7th WBS element                   35                              1.050
This is the assigned structure in the PO for all the 7 WBS elements. But when you look into the 3 invoices a quantity of 1.028 has been distributed to 7th WBS element and a quantity of 0.214 has been assigned to 5th WBS element which is causing the mismatch
Also in the 2nd and 3rd invoices only 6 wbs elements are used. Can you please tell me as to why there is a WBS element missing in the 2nd and 3rd invoices if the splitting is happening automatically.
    Regards,
    Dwarik
