Showing multiple recipent in sent folder

Hi,
I often send e-mail to multiple people. When I browse my sent folder, it would be really helpful if all the recipients, instead of just the first one, shows up under "To". Is there a setting to change this?
Thanks!

no, there is no way to do that. it will show all the recipients in the message itself in the message viewer pane below the message list but not in the message list itself.

I don't want all my mail to be marked as read, just the sent messages. I set Thunderbird up on my new PC and whenever I send an email it goes to my sent folder like I want, but it shows up as a new or unread message. I have Thunderbird on my two other PC's and it doesn't act this way. On the other PC's when I send out an email, it shows up in my sent folder as read. That's the way I want it to act on my new PC. With the other two PC's I didn't have to do anything to the setting it was like that from the start.
I appreciate any help I can get in this matter. Thank you

    Hi Bob,
    I'm using Mac Mail 4.5
I have set up my mail preferences to include a "From"
Web mail includes the appropriate "from" header information.
Interestingly, when I send emails from this account on other machines it's ok.

It just seems to be the MacBook Pro that is presenting this error.
As an aside, my ISP host recently upgraded from Pop to Imap.

  • Sent an email, but it didn't show up in my sent folder - any way to find it?

Sent an email, but it did not show up in my sent folder. (Heard it fly off)
    Any way to find it?
    Thanks

In order for a call to show in recents, the call has to make it to the phone. If you're in an area of very poor signal, the call may never get to the phone but will go instead to voice mail, where your caller may or may not leave a message. I realize that doesn't explain what you seem to have seen recently. However, it would explain other instances where you've had no notification but a voice mail.
    Best of luck.

  • Why does mail sent using the MacOSX mail client not show up in my sent folder when I access my Gmail account in a browser?

I've recently started using my first Mac, and I hooked my work email (Forwarded to Google Mail) and my personal email (Gmail) into the MacOSX mail client. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until I noticed that sent mail from my work email through the MacOSX Mail client is not showing up in my sent box on any other clients. Sent mail does show up in my personal email in Gmail, though.
Can anyone help me understand why mail sent from the MacOSX Mail client doesn't end up in the sent folder of my work Gmail account? I suspect it has something to do with the forwarding-to-Google process -- a sort of "too many cooks in the kitchen" situation. Has anyone heard of this problem before? What should I try?

I've been noticing that too.  Just told me there were 6 outgoing messages, even though I did not create any new messages.
One hypothesis is that it's generating those messages when a rule moves an email from one folder to another.
Can someone at Apple confirm this?

  • Why has iCloud mail stopped showing messages in the "Sent" folder?

Recently I've noticed that any emails I send from iCloud email does not show in the "Sent" mail folder. This, in and of itself is not really a big deal, but I'm curious to know if everything i've sent is being stored somewhere and is accumulting taking up storage space. I try to delete almost everything out of iCloud since I only have the basic storage account. Anyone else experiencing this with iCloud Mail.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Sounds like a limit of your ISP, as it's trying to put it back on the mailserver, which may not accept such a large file.

  • I sent an email from my phone, when I log into the server on my desktop, the email doesnot show up in the sent folder. What settings do I need to sync?

Basically, when I search for messages I have sent from my phone on the desktop, Thunderbird client cannot find them. What settings doI need to employ to sync the phone with Thunderbird? Thanks.

Since, POP accounts do not synchronize folders, the first step is to make sure your account connection is set up to use IMAP on all devices. Assuming that is an option with your account.

  • My Sent Messages Aren't Showing Up In My Sent Folder

Just started yesterday... Any ideas? Not sure if this is in any way related but I get a really long blue screen when I boot up the last few days as well.

if you have TM backups just start TM while in the sent mailbox in Mail and scroll back in time in The Mail window. those messages should be in the backups. select them and hit 'restore". they will be restored to a separate mailbox in "on my mac" section. you can move them from there where you want to.

  • Email sent with attachments not showing in sent folder

I have recently found that emails I send with an attachment do not show up in my sent folder. They are arriving at recipient but I do not then have a record of the email sent.  This is really very annoying and I can see a few other poplin online forums are having the same problem.  However nobody seems to have come up with a solution.  It appears I have to cc myself in to the mail and then move it to my sent folder when it arrives. I can't keep doing this.  Other emails without attachments are showing in the sent box.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this please.

Didn't work for me... (rebuilding the mailbox)
I cleaned the Sent mailbox and rebuilt the culprit mailbox and the general "Sent" mailbox.... sent a message.. it 'hung' in the Outgoing Message box for @ 20 seconds and it sounded as if it were sent and when checking the Sent mailbox for that account, it did not show.... I tested this again with another message addressed to myself and it sent as expected and showed in the Sent mailbox for the account... Did another test to a different recipient and the message sent as expected and showed in the Sent mailbox... The only corrollary that exists at this stage, is the recipient of the "disappearing" messages is that I email this particular recipient very regularly and at times with long threads... However, these last messages were completely different subjects and previous replies to this persons email sent as expected.... so this is a random occurrence.

  • Sent MSGs showing up as new in the sent folder

This just started to happen. When I send a new or a reply message, the message does show up in the sent folder, but it shows up as new. Is this normal. Has never happened in the past. Also with the iPhone: when I send a message, it will show up as new in the sent folder as well (on mu iMac). Also, when I delete a message on the iPhone, it shows as new in the deleted folder on my iMac.
I have all the necessary sync settings correct and verified. Started after the 10.5.5 update.

Same thing started happening to me...someone suggested that it has to do with Mobileme. This would make sense since it only effects my account that is linked to MobileMe.
Any body find cause/solution to his issue?

  • 'Sent' folder not showing sent emails from shared account.

I have access to my manager's Outlook Office 365 email account with "Owner" rights. The items in the "Inbox" all show up fine, however, none of the emails my manager answers or sends show up in the "Sent" folder on my pc.
Is there a way I can view the emails contained in his "Sent" emails folder from my pc?

It sounds like your manager has delegated you right to only his inbox folder.  If you need full access, there is a setting on his mailbox to provide full access to his mailbox which would allow you to see the full folder structure.
This is essentially Exchange 2013 running in office 365 so I will do my best to explain what to do without having access to O365.
Navigate to the Exchange Admin Center, find Recipients and your manager's name. Click Edit (pencil icon) on your manager's name and click the "mailbox delegation" menu on the left side of the window. Scroll down to the very bottom where it says Full Access
    and add your name there.
Within 15 minutes, and probably closing and re-opening Outlook client, your manager's mailbox should appear as a second mailbox in your outlook profile automatically.
    Thanks,

  • Some sent mails do not appear in "sent"-folder

    Dear fellow Apple enthusiasts,
can anybody please tell me whats going on?
Since Mac OS 10.7 (i am now on 10.8.2) i have constantly expierenced loss of sent mails.
Just now again I sent out an email from one of my IMAP accounts which does not show up in my "sent" folder.
Many do, but some are just not there, allthough they are being recieved by the person i sent them to.
I am ittle bit clueless, any ideas?
    thanks

The following article segment doesn't apply to you directly, however, in it may be contained the solution to your problem...
         http://www.macworld.com/article/1157846/mailgmail.html
Step 4: Fine-tune your Mail settings
Now that Gmail is all set, it’s time to tweak your Mail settings to be on their best behavior. Go to Mail -> Preferences, and select your Gmail account. Click on the Mailbox Behaviors tab and:
Enable Store Draft Messages On The Server if you want your drafts to be accessible in Gmail on the Web.
Make sure Store Sent Messages On The Server is checked, and that the Delete Sent Messages When popup menu is set to Never.
Enable Move Deleted Messages To The Trash Mailbox, but disable Store Deleted Messages On The Server. This is the other half of the feature we set up in step 3. Mail will create its own Trash folder that is stored locally on your Mac, but in Gmail on the Web, messages will be archived and searchable. Close the settings window and click Save to accept your changes.
Find your Gmail folders in Mail’s sidebar, unfurl the folder called [Gmail], and then select the Drafts subfolder. Then select Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For  -> Drafts.
Select the [Gmail] -> Sent Mail subfolder and choose Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For -> Sent
Finally, select the [Gmail] -> Spam subfolder and select Mailbox -> Use This Mailbox For -> Junk. These last three actions ensure that Mail and Gmail are on the same page when it comes to which folders to use for storing these types of messages. If you use multiple Macs, be sure to go through these motions in Mail on each one.
Your Gmail account and Mail should now be humming along together about as in tune as they can, given their different approaches to handling e-mail.

  • A sent message never made it to Sent Folder

This is my environment: Using Mail on an iMac and the MobilMe web interface sometimes. IMAP is what I am using with Mail; OS is 10.5.4. The problem message is one sent from the iMac using Mail. A single message is still missing from my Sent folder after more than 2 days. This message was sent on Friday and I received a reply from recipient on Friday within an hour; it is now Sunday and still no copy in Sent folder on the iMac or in MobileMe. The option for Save sent items to server is checked in Mail on the iMac and in MobileMe with the Web interface. There is only, as far as I can tell, one missing sent item. Other messages before and after have been handled okay as far as I can tell. The only difference between the missing message any any other is that it had a 1MB PDF attachment. In the past I have experienced a delay in seeing a message with an attachment show up in the Sent folder, but this is the first time it has gone completely into a black hole. I reported it in a MobileMe Chat session yesterday and was told that everything looked okay and that it was just a "weird fluke." Has anyone gotten a more helpful answer for a similar problem? As it stands, I don't know whether the problem is MobileMe, Mail, IMAP, an OS security problem or ?

I have experienced this issue along with two users on my network. Unfortunately I do not have resolution, as I am seeking one myself. I access multiple email accounts - IMAP, POP and a Mobile Me account. My network users have multiple IMAP and POP accounts set up, but no Mobile Me account. I use 10.5.4, my users are on 10.5.3. Do you have more than 1 email accounts defined, or just the Mobile Me account?

  • Email sent from an icloud alias not saved in sent folder

I have a couple aliases set up for my primary icloud email account.
When I send a message from my "primary" email address (using the pull-down list to select the "From:" address) a copy of the message appears in the Sent folder. However, if I select one of the aliases as the "From:" address, the message is delivered to the recipient but does NOT show up in the Sent folder. Anyone know why?

The "recall" feature is not a feature of Outlook. It is a feature of Microsoft's proprietary Exchange system, and it only works if you and the recipient are both using Exchange Server email accounts.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/how-message-recall-works-HA001091 760.aspx
iCloud does not use Microsoft Exchange - it uses the industry standard IMAP protocol for email.
