Shud i make use of enhancement fwk here ?
hi,
i have extended an idoc and i need to populate the extra segments before sending it out to EDI (outbound). typically we write this code in an user exit. any idea if i can make use of enhancement fwk in this situation ? if so how ?

Recommendation is - You can write your code inside an include and place the include between Enhancement and Endenhancement.
There are few points you have note down while using Enhancement framework.
Do not directly write code in the enhancement frame work, write the code inside an include program
Caution while using CHECK statement inside enhancement code. The check statement based on where it is used, it will exit the block. If you just want to exit the enhancement part of the include - do not use Check.

I am a kind of newbie in to this world of XI,
I have a quick question,Before stepping into the question please look in to my Existing process.
I have a J2EE product,
which needs the business data from differant versions of R/3 systems (for example 3.1,4.3,4.6c)
and some other systems as well(say people soft and few other legacy systems),
If I am asked to deploy my J2EE product at a ABC client site who has already the above environment(SAP and other systems),
The scenario would be :
1.Extracting the needed data from all the business environments of the client ABC(SAP 3.1,4.3,4.6c, People soft, Legacy)
2.Converting them in to the flat files and placing in FTP
3.Communicating thru my product to the FTP
4 Loading in to the database which is compatible with my product(say Oracle,SQL Server,DB2...etc)
Currently for Extracting the data from SAP Systems,
I am writing the ABAP programs to extract the data from the client systems,
which will create the needed flat files in FTP,
But In case of the extraction other than SAP systems,
Client ABC will be giving me the needed data from the other business systems in the required flat file format,
Step 4 will be handled by my J2EE product when all the needed filed are ready in the specified FTP location.
Now my question is,
How can I make use of Exchange Infrastructure process integration methodology in my current business process,
It would be great if some one can propose in enhancing the process by making use of XI,

Ideally you can have 3 entries for all 3 SAP systems in SLD.
For PeopleSoft system,Legacy1,Legacy2 different SLD entries.. SO it is something like you need to have Business system for each Systems.
Then I suggest, you have already ABAP programs in place, you can use this and you can call proxy from these programs. So that you can avoid doing some of the developments. But inorder to process on Proxy you need to have SAP WAS6.40 and above or SAP WAS 6.20 with add-ins.
If this is not feasible then you need to eithe go with Idoc/RFC sturctures from the R/3 sides.

First try to lay out the system landscape design with message exchange format etc.
Then it is possible to do the design easily.
For e.g from Peoplesoft you will get the data in file format. That time you can go with File->XI->Data Base scenario.

How to Build a DC project that makes use of other Projects??
Hi all,
I am trying to build a DC project that makes use of two other projects in my workspace, one is a java class project, the other one is a EJB project where it takes care of database access.
if i right click on the Application and use "Deploy new Archive and Run" it deploys and runs ok.
but if i right click on the DC project and use "Development Component -> Build", it gives me a lot of errors like below, as if it doesn't know where my reference projects are, but i have set them into my java build path.
Can anyone give me some advice?

by making my EJB project a DC project and put the public parts into my Used DC, i reduce the build errors down to 2 (from more than 10).

Please advise me whether we can make use of Transaction code FKMT (Account assignment model) for vendor line items as follows:

How to make use of adjacent data elements within the same buffer
Hi,
Does anyone know how to make use of adjacent data elements within the same buffer? To make my question clearly, I would like to give you an example. In my application, I set "sample to read" as 10 which means at each loop 10 data samples will be taken into a buffer. Now, what I would like to do is to do some calculations on adjacent data samples in same buffer. I tried to use "shift register" for this, but it seemed to me that it only can deal with the calculation between data from adjacent loops. In other words, it skips 9 data elements and take the 10th one for the calculation.
Here I also attach my VI showing what I did.

I hope you'll forgive me for distilling your code - mainly to understand it better. I tried to duplicate your logic exactly - which required reversing the "derivatives"-array before concatination with the current samples array. As in your code, the last velocity is being paired with the first position. If first velocity is really supposed to be paired with first position, just remove the "Reverse 1D Array" node.

Can we use receiver enhancement feature for a web service scenario?
Hi Experts,
We have to send across an invoice to web service enabled legacy system from ECC.
ECC>ABAP Proxy>SAP PI>SOAP Adapter>Legacy System1
ECC>ABAP Proxy>SAP PI>SOAP Adapter>Legacy System2
Requirement is like if the invoice number starts with 1A, it should go to Legacy System1 & if the invoice number starts with 2A, it should go to Legacy System2.
Can we do it in one single scenario using receiver enhancement and if yes How?

Scenario: I am using a transaction which makes use of SAP standard FM. Also I have used a zbadi to achieve my requirement. While debugging, I found that when the control goes to zbadi, i am unable to make use of the variables which are defined in standard FM.
Now my requirement is to make use of variables present in standard FM into zbadi. Can anyone suggest me how to achieve this?

Otherwise, you can only access them if they have global scope, using ASSIGN ('(SAPLfunction group name)GLOBALVARNAME') TO <fieldsymbol> (be careful, you could change variable value, so make sure you don't) -
How to make use of 'Icon Name' in Logical link?
I see the option 'Icon name' in 'define logical links' in SPRO. It does not however has an F4. I tried giving the name of image in the relevant skin. But no image appears besides the logical link. Is there something else that needs to be done to get an image besides workcenter link? How to make use of this 'Icon Name' in logical link?

How to make use of SSO login credentials of oracle in Authentication shema using APEX

I am using SSO login for Authorizations. Would like make use of SSO for creating authentication schema. I would appreciate if someone can help me on this. My main requirement is to assign privilege based on users using SSO loging.Here's an example.
I create a new application in APEX called Master with Application ID = 100. I modify some templates, create some LOV's in this master template.
I create a 2nd application in APEX called Subscriber with Application ID = 101.
In 101 I go to Shared Components => List of Values => Create. Choose to create as a copy of an existing list of values. In the dropdown, I choose Master (100) and click Next. You then are presented with all of the LOV's from your master application. First off you want to change the name from Copy of <LOV> to just <LOV> more because it is kind of confusing if you don't. In the copy drop-down, this where you choose Copy and Subscribe.
The way it works is that once an object subscribes, you always make changes to that object in Master (100), and there is a button to push that change to all subscribing applications. So if you have 30 applications subscribing to that one LOV, you just make the change once, push it to the subscribers and they are now up to date.
Keep in mind it doesn't work with all objects and only certain objects may be subscribed to. Objects like Application Processes for instance do not have a subscription feature, but you could use packages to keep common logic and just reference the same package anywhere you need it.
What I ended up doing was to create a master and a subscription application. The subscription template has no actual pages, just subscriptions to templates and LOV's that I need. Whenever I need a new application, I just create a new application as a copy of that subscription application and my subscriptions are already setup for me.

How to make use of the crypto modules in the new Sparc T2 processors?
Having just received some frontal indoctrination about the features of the new Niagara (T1/T2) processor platform, I've started to dig around its ncp cryptography support cores a bit, but I've got a few open ends that I hope someone here can tie up for me..
- Is there any way to make current OpenSSL take advantage of the ncp cores? The FAQs don't mention it anywhere except a general "Included ability to use crypto hardware options". Does this already include Sun ncp? The openssl derivate that comes with Solaris10 is antique and I really want to replace it.. but if that means losing hardware support, I'm considering ditching the T2 altogether and going for US4+, doing crypto in the "old" way on the main cpu cores.
- The Niagara crypto blueprint mentions some commands to run speed tests, which I did on a T2000 server I've got around here, and on an old 420 in parallel, and I got some results that puzzle me:

The T2k looks nice for short keys, but does it really drop from 13k/sec to 1.6/sec for the 2kbit keys, or is that a display bug?
If not, does that mean that the ncp in the T1 cpu is limited to 1kbit keys, and if I intend to use longer DSA keys, I better stay doing it on normal CPU core?
I see the same huge performance drop in RSA when switching from 2048 to 4096 bit key sizes. Ok, RSA isn't really that popular anymore.. but even DSA-1024 is aged a bit and many crypto researchers recommend the 2kbit key sizes already, at least for applications that are supposed to be running for a few years.
Are there any improvements being made in the new T2 cpu series, compared to the T1 I ran the tests on?
- The T1/T2 brochure also lists functions like crc32, md5, sha1 hashing algorithms in the crypto cores - how can I make use of those? I've got a few applications that do heavy checksumming and file hashing, and I'd love to offload these operations to the crypto cores; however I couldn't yet find any tool that allows me to do that. The regular md5sum binaries coming with Solaris still do the math on the main cpu core.I'd love to, but I don't have the money for a T2 system, and even if I did, I don't have the time to play with it right now anyways :(

Lightroom does NOT make use of new/fast hardwares!
For those who are considering a new computer here's my experience....
Lightroom 4 does NOT make full use of new/fast CPUs / SSDs!
I’ve been frustrated with Lightroom speed since launch and held on to my “old” Xeon work station for two years…. I recently invested in the latest Intel CPU and IO technology and I'm very disappointed how Lightroom 4 does not make use of it. It's most noticeably sluggish from one photo to the next during editing. This may seem small but when I edits hundreds of images everyday it really slow me down.
See my system specs at very bottom of this post. I don't think there's a bottle neck in performance! I love my new setup and it's a pleasure to use the OS. BUT I'm so disapointed everytime I load up Lightroom. (My typical Lightroom edits are 600-900 sRAW images - I edit down my photos in Photo Mechanic 5! It's just too slow in Lightroom)
Lightroom still take time to load each image when advance from one image to the next (During editing). Isn’t smart enough to cache 100 images in advance let say. (1:1 previews as been created!)
Won’t make use of more than 8GB ram. No matter how big the RAW working set is.
Very slow switching from one working module to another
Lightroom Jpeg export won’t make use of more than 25% of new Intel Xeon E5 series dual processors processing power 12 cores. 6-9 cores are literally taking a nap during export!

In terms of workarounds for now, if you haven't tried the 4.2RC yet, you might find the module switching a bit faster. And for better use of your exports processing power, try splitting your export into 3 or 4 and running them concurrently (i.e. set the first going, and immediately set the second going, etc.) as that'll make better use of the extra cores if your hard drives are able to keep up with them. -

I can think of two possible stumbling blocks:
What are your 8.6 options for "byte order" and "prepend array or string size"?
Overall, many file IO functions have changed with LabVIEW 8.0, so there might not be an exact 1:1 code conversion. You might need to make some modifications. For example, in 7.1, you should use "write file", the "binary file VIs" are special purpose (I16 or SGL). What is your data type?
