Shuffle - Playlist order help!!!

Can someone help me figure out how to get my Shuffle to play my playlists in the order I want? I know I have the button set correctly but it always plays my lists in reverse order. I thought of changing it on my computer but then all my other IPODs get affected because they play them correctly!! What am I missing here? It is a brand new Shuffle.

It took me over an hour of research and effort but heres the two step process.
1( (and im not totally sure its necessary but do it anyways) Go under "Music" on your shuffle (hint, its between your device name and playlist)
Music > Settings> Deselect "Choose Items Randomly"
Most instructions ive found stop here, but wait...its doesnt freaking work! Ahh!
2) Either under music or your playlist there is a column with a check mark and a check mark for each song.
Check mark column > deselect every individual song > double check your playlist and music tab.
Done! and Done!

Required to "Copy to Play Order" for my non-shuffled playlists

Hi. My playlists synced to my iPhone are in Album order. Beginning about a month ago, adding a new album to a playlist results in the album going to the bottom of the playlist on my iPhone. It's correct on iTunes, but wrong on the iPhone. The workaround is to right-click on the playlist and select "Copy to Play Order" before syncing.
I've been using playlist-based syncing two or three times a day since I bought my nano in 2006, and have never had to do this before; the "Copy to Play Order" command is supposed to only be required when you want to use the sequence of a shuffled playlist on iPhone or iPod.
The only thing that happened around the time the problem started was that I permanently turned off iTunes Match. Creating fresh playlists didn't correct the problem.

How can I see my shuffled playlist? It used to arrange in shuffled order in the window. now it just jumps ramdomly to songs. I want to be able to see ahead and behind easily, like before.

It does not look like this is possible with iTunes 11 (or 11.0.1).

I just gave my daughter my 8 year old daughter my shuffle and i created a new playlist on itunes 10. I transfered it over and it was great. I upgraded the iTunes software to 11.0 and made changes to her kid friendly playlist on MacBook and deleted the playlist on the shuffle and wen to transfer and I could not transfer. It was very easy to do on iTunes 10 and now I need some help in figuring it out. Thanks for you help.

Never mind, finally figured it out. All the advice says to click on the left-most column, but it's actually the second column from the left (the first one, in mky version of iTunes, is the album list.)

HT1399 how do I shuffle the order of my playlists that I want to burn to cd?

I'm trying to shuffle my playlist order prior to burning to a cd. The only options I seem to have are to order the songs by date, genre, artist, length, name, title, etc.....nothing to shuffle. I am burning over 300 songs and to sort in a random manner one by one is ridiculous. Also, how can you quickly delete duplicates in a play list or your library? Itunes flags them all, but that means I need to go deselecting every other line, again, a ridiculous amount of work.

From Shuffle to Playlist Order

If I am listening to my Shuffle in random/shuffle order and come to a song from an album I want to hear more of, can I switch it to Playlist order and hear the rest of the songs in order of the playlist?

Problems gifting playlist - order randomized and Error 1008

I can purchase music fine, so I know my account is indeed working.
But when I try to gift a playlist via the iTunes Store, 2 errors keep occuring:
1. Track order gets randomized. (Not that it'd matter, but I don't have shuffle checked.) Each time I try clicking the "Give Playlist" button, the list opens in the Store in a different random track order, numbered incorrectly. It's only an issue because these tracks need to play in order.
2. More important, I can't finalize the purchase. I get all the way to the last screen, after entering my password, but when I finally click "Buy Gift" I get this error popup:
"*We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (1008). There was an error in the iTunes Store.* Please try again later."
This has been happening all day -- even though I can purchase songs for myself just fine.
What should I do? This is time sensitive. I'm doing this through iTunes rather than burning a CD and giving it away because I feel strongly about paying for music. Bummer not to have any info on this.

BTW, does anyone know why the playlist order gets randomly changed when I try to gift a playlist? It's confounding, I keep having to cancel and try again until, randomly, the order is right -- which can take quite a while with 5 tracks!

Burning shuffles playlist

ITunes appears to be burning a playlist in order but just as it's finishing up it shuffles the order and that is how the cd will play. it's most frustrating! Please help! I think I've tried all the simple stuff but please asume i'm an idiot and mention all the simple remedies. Thanks

Select the CD in iTunes and click on the 1st column header with the numbers.

I recently updated my computer software (iTunes included, obviously) and have come to realize that this new version does not give me the abilities that the previous versions have. Surely, since you can shuffle a Playlist on an iPod, it's not necessary to shuffle it before Syncing, is it?

But on my old computer/version of itunes i was able to keep the "shuffle's playlist" on itunes at all times so it was easy to tweak my songs and then whenever i charged my ipod all the songs would update. now it seems i cannot keep the playlist contents of my shuffle on itunes and have to update the shuffle manually while its connected which takes much more time. Where is the setting to change this so i can see the shuffle playlist all the time?

Shuffle Playlist songs only

Hey I have an 80gb video, and i love it
but im dissapointed with apple for having very little instructions on how to use it (i've figured most of it out now) but i just made a playlist after four months and im a little mad. for one reason and that is because the songs dont shuffle, but then when i go into the settings and turn shuffle songs only on it shuffles the playlist but also all of my songs and albums (which is really stupid, there should be a shuffle playlist setting) unless there is something else i can do, help is appreciated

Shuffle Songs from the main menu will shuffle everything.
If you select Settings -> Shuffle - songs, whatever you select will be shuffled.
If you do not want to shuffle a selection, you must set Settings -> Shuffle to Off.
There is no shuffle setting for playlist by playlist basis.

Shuffle Playlist after selecting a song?

Is there any way to have a playlist shuffle after selecting a song from the playlist without having to select shuffle playlist after the song plays?

Have you checked to make sure the Shuffle setting has not been enabled in Settings? If so, try a hard reset to see if that helps as well. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

80GB Video iPod - Shuffling playlist?

I have 2 iPods,
8GB nano shuffles tracks inside a playlist by default.
I'm still having trouble figuring out how to shuffle "playlist" on 80GB video iPod.
Please help.

Hello.
I have found a temporary work around the iPod playlists not recognizing videos. I too think this a really big problem. I just did not realize just how bit it was!
I use mine to pass thew time whil I workout at the Gym.
This is my temeporary soulution util apple fixes the problem.
I used a video editing software Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 because I am just descovering QuickTime.
I have copied my desired videos into the Adobe program.
I then export the one video made up of many videos using MPEG4.
I Then use the quick Time Player Pro to convert the MPEG4 video to iPod.
I then Sync my iPod to my computer.
I create the lenght of the video time I desire for my workout which is between 45 minutes to one hour.
I have created various videos.
This is in no way as good as the playlist but it is certainly much better than the present sintuation.
PS: I hope Apple fixes this problem soon!
