I`ve got a problem with my ipad2. I can't use the front camera, don't open the shutter.

Try closing the Camera app:
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal the Task Bar
2. Hold down the Camera app for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Tap area above Task Bar to return to Home screen
If the above doesn't solve the problem, do a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

Take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar for testing, and if it is defective and under warranty they will replace. Since you say iPhone 4, was this a used or refurbished iPhone?

I am having the problem when trying to take a panorama picture. It may only take the first frame or doesn't even start at all when I press the shutter button. even though when i hold the phone straight up and down, so that camera is at the top

This problem is irritating me....?

To take panorama
- ensure that the panorama option is on
- press the shutter button once
- you will see a line with an arrow
- move around in a circle ( I keep the camera steady and turn myself around in a circle)
- as you do this you will see the arrow moving across the screen as it captures pictures
- at the end of the capture, you will be able to see your panorama picture

After the 6.1 update on iphone 5 the camera virtual shutter won't open so I cannot use the camera at all.
I have tried most things suggested in the web like hard/soft shut down, reopen app, restore from backup. Any other suggestions? It should be a software problem right?

The problem is more than likely being cause by corruption that occured during the iOS install or in the backup that was used to restore the phone after the update.
Standard troubleshooting is:
Re-boot the phone
Restore the phone from your backup
Restore the phone as a new device.
One of the 3 should fix the problem.

There's no option for this sound toggle in the US under "Sounds" on either the iPad or the iPhone. To disable the shutter sound, you need to mute the device. If yours does not mute even with the mute toggle, it's likely permanently enabled in your particular locale as King_Penguin mentioned.

Looking for app to keep shutter open, smaller aperture

I like to take long-exposure shots with my old medium-format Rolleiflex camera.
And I'd love to do the same with my iPhone.
Are there any apps that allow you to keep the shutter open for an hour or longer - and shrink the aperture down to almost pinhole size?

There are a number of camera apps in the App store. The best bet would be to search there for information on any number of them. However, I believe the specs for the iPhone camera state it has a fixed f-stop. You might want to go over to www.apple.com/iphone and check out the specs to see for yourself.

Can I get rid of the shutter delay?

My phone is my camera and pictures are very important to me. My boyfriend convinced me to try a Blackberry when I switched over to Sprint from Verizon. I love the phone, but this shutter delay kills me. Seriously, I die a little inside every time I try to take a picture. I'm perfectly capable of keeping my hand steady. The option to turn off the shutter delay does not exist in my phone. Is there an app or a download I can find to turn off the delay all together and keep my flash? Or maybe another board or group I should be complaining to? I appreciate any help or comments. Thank you!

I had my iPhone replaced in 2011 because of the camera shutter app defect, and the "genius" put in the wrong serial code and after update the phone will not work. What can I do?

I took my iPhone to AT&T after I tried to update to iOS 6 and the phone said I needed to insert the original sim card which was what was in the device. AT&T said to take it to apple because it had to be a software issue. I get to the apple store and they tell me because I replaced my phone because of the defective shutter malfunction the "genius" entered in the wrong serial number by one digit causing the phone to turn into a UK phone and they could not fix it unless I have some sort of reciept or email saying it came from Apple. Mind you this is a year later with a move from TX to HI as well! So what am I able to do?? be out of a phone because they messed up?? Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

If resetting the camera app doesn't work you can try restoring your iPhone's software. The entire process takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Make sure you do a backup. Make sure you do a backup.
