Sign a midlet, and build a prc file

Hi !
I have a java midlet that writes a file in the palm, using FileConnection.
Due to security system, the palm prompts if the user allows the midlet to write in the palm. But I don't want this prompt, and I think I must sign this program.
I have a pkcs12 keystore (.p12), then I would like to sign the midlet with this p12.
I tried to sign the jar thanks to Netbeans, but when I try to tranform jar+jad in prc, it doesn't work.
I tried to sign the prc using prcsign.exe, but I don't know how to sign a prc with a p12 file.
Can you help me, please ?

I install portecle.
Then load into it a keystore with keypair that make csr..
load into keypair a ca response.
save keystore and use it to sign midlet.
I install into nokia n73.
Install successful but the http permission is asked anyway.
What's wrong?

RH10 variable and build tag source file names

I'm using RH10 and outputting to WebHelp. My company requires that I archive project source files to our CVS via Eclipse. I am not using RoboSource_Control and must use the company's development resources for archiving.
Since archiving the initial project, I have been uploading only source files with modified dates.
However, I have discovered that the files I thought were storing user variables and build tags are not the correct files to archive. Since I am uploading all files with a newer date and that's not working, I need to know the user variable source file name and the build tag source file name that stores the currently defined variables and build tags.
I have already tried the WebHelp forum and was directed to this forum to pose the question because I'm looking for source file information instead of output file information.

Yes, Eclipse does work that way. However, we do not use our development directory as the local Eclipse repository. I need to move changed files to the local repository (stores all source files in the project) so that Eclipse can upload changes to the server. Yes, this is planned redundancy.
That said, it is not acceptable to spend the time copying all files in the large projects from the work folder to the local repository. I simply need to know which individual files to copy that include the currently defined variables and build tags. Note, we do not copy the SSL folder output files to our local source file repository, or other associated reference files that are not actually project source files.
Can you find someone who knows which files I need?

Can I use a PCI-1424 with a non-standard camera and build my own camera file?

I want to test a certain CCD which in non-standard and I want to setup the direct interface with it. My idea is to use a 1424 board and build the camera file.

Technically, you can build your own cable and ICD (configuration) file for your camera. It can be very difficult, though. If the CCD is fairly standard, NI might be willing to create a basic ICD file for you which you can modify to do what you want. The best way to figure out what can be done in an ICD file is to look at ICD files for other cameras.

Trusted Midlet and midelt Signing

Hi,
Am fairly new to this concept.. i have just finished developing an network based application and when I try to run it on a Sony Ericsson phone I keep getting a securityexception..
this can be avoided by making my midlte a trusted one.. for that I probably need to obtain a certificate from verisign or thwate... however i am not sure about the exact procedure..
i will probably get the certificate but then how do I use that to sign my midlet.. and what abt the key - value pair, or will that come with the certificate.. do i need to include this certificate as a part of my jar?
am sorry if i sound daft.. the thing is am clueless and i need some serious guidance from some of the gurus out there..

I finally managed to secure a Java Object Signing certificate from Verisign, however beyond that I have not been able to make any progress...
I followed the steps exactly as outlined in the Eclipse ME guide for midlet signing.. let me just recollect the exact steps..
1. Generate the keys. By using the keytool -keygen option
2. Generate the cert reg and send to verisign
3. After verisign sends the certificate, import it back into the key store..
4. Use the key store now to sign the jar and jad (2 steps here, one for computing checksum, 2nd for signing the jad)
After all this.. when i try and install this midlet on my nokia phone.. it refuses to install.. goes on to the last stage and says security error unable to install..
Tried installing it on a sony ericsson.. it refuses to recognize the jad file itself.. just throws an error saying download failed..
am so lost as to what could be going wrong..
maybe its worth a mention - when I tried importing the certificate into my keystore it threw this warning..

Cant sign to DPS app builder in to download distribution ZIP file

I cant sign in to DPS app builder, with the very same P12 and distribution certificate I used to create the app. the app is visible in the DPS app builder. however I just cant download it. Right before download it asks me to sign in... i define paths for P12 file and distribution certificate and i type my pass for P12 file... but after a while it returns me sign ion error message - conatantly.
Btw, my folio and article in it doenst have any special chars (only a-z). Thank you.

Try the following if you are a Creative Cloud customer:
1) Make sure DPS App Builder is no longer running on your machine. Go to the DPS App Builder menu and make sure you quit, so it's really shut down.
2) Sign out of Folio Builder Panel in InDesign, then close InDesign.
3) Run InDesign and sign into Folio Builder Panel
4) From Folio Builder Panel select Create App in the flyout menu and proceed with the app creation process.

I would like to know the exact error message when you sign in, in the meanwhile please try the following steps assuming its Windows, let me know if its a MAC:
1) Go to Start button>> Control panel>> Uninstall a program.
2) Check if you see Browser safeguard there, if yes then uninstall it.
3) Open Internet explorer>> Tools>> Internet options>> Connections>> Lan Settings>> and it should be like this.

When trying to sign out of Hotmail the "back navigation button" remains green and I have to click sign out again and the same thing happens over and over and the only way to close Hotmail is to go to File and Close Frame, so what's my problem?

When I attempt to sign out of Hot Mail by clicking "Sign Out," I get the "Sign In" instruction as I always have, however, the green Firefox navigation button remains on bright green (not going to gray) and my MSN home page will not close automatically as usual. I click on the green arrow and I get an instruction to "Sign Out" again. I click on that and get the "Sign In" again but the arrow stays green. I can repeat this countless times and never get signed out and always remaining on the MSN home page. The only way I can close is to go to File and click on Close Window and then my homepage will close and go back to desktop. I've been using Firefox for a couple of years now (IE prior to that for ten years) and have never had this problem. After using "Close Window" I go back onto my home page, from the desktop, and the navigation button is grayed out normally until I sign in again and we start the cycle over again. Have I been hacked?

I was doing a side-by-side comparison of the new and old server (we backed up the server before the reformat) and I can see that, evidently, CR XI was installed. We have the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0 and all the versions match what is located in the project's bin directory. Does this confirm that I did have XI installed and licensed at one time?
If I purchase a more recent version, couldn't I update the reports to use the newer version? I have all the source code.
Thanks for your help, it is a nice sanity check for me after hours of reading forums and documentation.
Also, just a shot in the dark, but I'm assuming it wouldn't do me any good to simply restore the aforementioned folder to my C drive? Would that work if I registered all the dll's?

To be clear, I do have VS 2003 & 2005, and I have the source code. I just have never used Crystal Reports in any of my .NET apps because the need wasn't there, so recompiling is not out of the question.

Also, I looked at the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll that was in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\Managed folder and when I right-click and view the properties, then the Version tab, in addition to the 11.0.9500.2 version number, there is a property called Product Version that has the value .NET. Does that mean that this dll was bundled with Visual Studio?
I also found this directory on the old server...does this tell you anything?

I did see that you can still buy XI from CDW. I have a call into them currently to check with Business Objects for any registrations from my company.

Problems with cached previews and File Not Found errors in preview and build

I am having serious issues with Encore CS5.
When I try and build a preview or disk/image I am getting File Not Found errors. I have emptied the media cache in the preferences but my project still seems to be referencing previously cached files or rendered menus. Is there any way to manually delete previous previews or the cache. I know that there are no missing files in my project. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I am running Mac OS 10.6.4 and Encore 5.0

I am embarrassed to say that your solution answered my question.
I was about 10 min away from rewriting my Ant script to just use the mxmlc.exe directly instead of the mxmlc ant tag. I kept running into the -flex-config+=YourConfig.xml for the command line option but never saw the xml variant.

Safari for windows builds up etilqs files and doesn't delete them

Every day when I use Safari on my windows 7 computer it builds up etilqs files in een Temp directory. They stay there even when I shut down the computer. Is there a way to get rid of them automatically?

Software apps that don't have .prb or prc files and driver solutions

How do you install an .exe file on your pda? I downloaded (Pocket Divx Encoder for Palm OS) and noticed it only showed a .exe file saving? Also the quick install only wants to put the files on the SD expansion card? Won't let me change destination option to save file on handheld. Error message: the .exe file can't be loaded on the handheld.
If I uninstall Quick Install will it mess up my other files I have archived on my Palm Desktop?
Is there a newer download for the wi-fi drivers for Tungsten E2? Palm site shows a 2005 driver that is an .exe file

I just added the wireless card and I could not get the software to install.
1) I am using Windows Vista
2) I operate as a limited user until I need to install something, then, I authorize the software within the limited account or logoff and logon again as administrator.
The install software could not sense the sync. I had everything set, but it could not see that the pre-install sync occurred.
Before I moved everything to an XP laptop, I searched my C drive for all PRC files. I did this while the installer was waiting for me to sync and click Next.
I found the PRC. The EXE file extracts it, hides it on your hard drive, and deletes it after the installation. So while the software is waiting for you to click Next, find the PRC and COPY it to another folder. I added the PRC to the Installer, canceled the EXE program, and sync'd my E2. The software loaded, installed, and I became a wifi Palm user.
I'll guess that the EXE makes sure you have a supported model before it unpacks the PRC. Luckily, my E2 passed that test, but I could not get the PRC to sync through the EXE. So I bypassed it.
I hope this helps everyone.

You best ask qualcomm. It is their intellectual property.
Eudora OSE was based on Thunderbird and the source code for the Penelope add-on is open source (that is what made Thunderbird over to OSE)
