Sign in difficulties - Question

Each time I try and sign in using my valid email and password, the screen "thinks" for a few seconds and then comes back with "You are now signed out". Any ideas?

I had the same problem and contacted technical support via chat.
Here is what we did to fix the issue on a Windows 7 (64 bit) system).
1. Quit your Creative Cloud app.
2. Hold down the "Windows" key on your keyboard and press "r".
3. Type in "appdata" in the run window and hit enter.
4. Navigate to Local/Adobe/OOBE.
5. Locate the "opm" database file and delete it.
6. Start the Creative Cloud desktop app and sign in using your Adobe ID and password, then click on the Apps tab. It took a minute or two to sign in but everything came back to normal status.

I did reset my MacBook Air; then it is just giving me a flashing folder sign with a question mark. Any Suggestion?

There are four general causes of this issue:
1. The computer's PRAM no longer contains a valid startup disk setting when there aren't any problems with the disk itself. This can be checked for by pressing the Option key and seeing if the drive appears.
2. The internal drive's directory structure has become damaged. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to perform the repair.
3. Critical system files have been deleted. This requires usage of an alternate bootable system to reinstall them.
4. The internal drive has died or become unplugged. This is the most likely case if the computer took a sharp impact or there are unusual sounds coming from the hard drive's location.

My iMac won't start up (no entry sign/folder with question mark)

Hello,
I recently updated the mac software through the App Store and it is now unable to start up.
When it starts up it has a white screen and a folder icon with a question mark in it. However, sometimes it has a 'no entry' sign instead.
I've found a few solutions online involving using the installation disk and holding certain buttons and going through safe mode but I'm not sure whether the mac is picking up my wireless keyboard. I've replaced the batteries and tried the wireless keyboard from my other mac but nothing has worked.
Can anyone help?
According to the box it is an iMac 27"/3.06/2x2GB/1TB/4670
And it's running Mountain Lion- I can't be too sure exactly which version because I can't get to the system information.

Have you tried booting into the Recovery HD and using Disk Utility to check/repair the drive- restart holding Command + r

If your Bluetooth keyboard doesn't seem to be working, can you borrow a USB wired (any make) keyboard just to try and make progress.

HELP Difficult question Re: 2 iPhones and an iPod......

Hi. I have an iPhone 4s with iTunes on my computer for years. My daughter has an iPod that was originally set up on her father's computer and with her own AppleID. I just got her an iPhone and want to transfer/sync all her info from the iPod to the iPhone. However, when I connect her phone to my computer it connects to my iTunes account. Even if I sign out and sign back in as her it is still my music shown in the library.
I backed up her iPod to my computer and rstored it to her iPhone. Everything showed up EXCEPT the music. It can be found in iTunes, purchases, music.....but NOT in the music folder on the phone.
Lastly, I would like to maintain our seperate AppleID's but be able to share music we purchase since I am ultimately purchasing all the music anyway.
Here are my questions.....
1) Why am I not seeing her music list when I sign into iTunes as her on my computer? How can I get to her music list?
2) How can I get her music list to show up in the music folder on her iPhone?
3) How can we sign in seperately and see our accounts individually going forward?
4) How can we share music purchased between the 2 AppleID accounts?

Very difficult question.........

This is a question that has not been able to be solved yet by about a dozen professionals I have ran into over the weeks trying to figure it out.
I have a logo that is over a white background that is letter boxed.
I am trying to fill the top & bottom black areas with white color to make the whole background white.
I have tried numerous amounts of composite combinations and all provide great results, but there is a major issue during transitions.
**During a transition, you can slightly and quickly (depending on the lengthy of transition) see lines from the letterbox. This is very difficult for me to explain but you can slightly see an outline of the top edge and the bottom edge of the box where the letter boxing begins. But once the transition is over, both whites mix together and you have a whole solid color.
Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about?

I'm not sure of the best way to describe it but what you're describing makes perfect sense. The two sources that you have layered are not identical, so as you dissolve and the layers become less opaque you start to see the differences.
Two easy fixes and Brian already gave you one.
The other thing you can do is export the composite you have created and then reimport the new file. Once it has been combined in his way you won't have that problem.
PS... I'd be suspect of those "Pro" qualifications if they couldn't figure that one out.

Printing and Signing PDF Security Questions

Hi,
I noticed one of the PDF security features for Acrobat 8.0 is to set the printing permissions between "None", "150 DPI", and "High Resolution". However, when I print between two PDF's with 150 DPI and max resolution, I honestly can barely notice the difference between the two (the 150 DPI is "slightly" worst, i.e. letters are slightly more jaggedly). I was wondering is this normal, as I was hoping the lower setting would make the printout hard to read, not just a "quick-print" (I used a Laser Printer with 1200 DPI). I don't mean to make a big deal out of it, but I personally do not think this a very useful feature from a security standpoint.
Secondly, I'm having trouble creating signable PDF's. I basically want the file to only allow a user to sign, and nothing else, so I set the "Changes allowed" to just "filling in forms and signing existing signature fields". But doesn't seem to work, because instead I have to set it to allow "any except extracting page". Only then can I sign the PDF, but then this also allows it to be changed (which I don't want). Is there something wrong with what I'm doing? Any help is appreciated!

It's a very common question, and as Michael says there's not a lot you can do. Even doing the imposition yourself is unlikely to help, as most commercial raster image processors (RIPs - the software which turns your document with its fonts, graphics etc into the pattern of dots needed to physically generate the image on the printing drum) need unencrypted files.
If the print shop has an ad-hoc workflow which supports encryption (such as printing direct from Acrobat in the way desktop users do), there are plugins for Acrobat to handle the page imposition; but it's not something native to the application and the printer will have to give you very precise directions as to what layout to create. Many print shops won't entertain that idea unless there's an overriding commercial reason, as it's too much hassle for them to deal with errors in the client plates. Worth asking, but I doubt they'll agree to it.
Given the need to send unsecured files to an external contractor for printing, your "protection" is in the form of the contract, not digital encryption. The former can be settled in court if they break the terms, the latter can be bypassed in ten seconds and you'll probably never know. If the files are truly too sensitive to send to anyone, it's time to get yourself a laser printer - these days the machines many local print shops rely on are in essence a color photocopier, and you can rent them for about the same price.

Is AirPort on the motherboard + more difficult question

My basic question is this: is the Airport on the motherboard of the iMac (intel 2,4 GHz, core duo).
In other words: I sent my iMac to service, they said they changed the motherboard, but the computer still has the same problem AND it has the same MAC address. Is there something fishy going on?
There is also a second question, probably more difficult. I have a new iMac, as above. Straight from the box, it had the following problem. When I open Safari and type some text into a form, the computer hangs every sentence or so. When it hangs, it displays a beach ball, and then puts the typed text into a buffer, which is emptied out onto the screen after one or two seconds. This problem occurs also in, say, TextEdit, and the Finder, and also on other programs that I install.
I have not found something similar. I went through reinstalling the system, and then gave the computer (brand new) back to warranty repair. They held it for a month (yes!, in Warsaw Poland), and then gave it back to me today, saying that they exchanged the motherboard.
The problem, however, has not gone away. So I am really mad: I have a brand new iMac, does not work, I give it to service, they keep it for a month, and it is still broken. Due to the unchanged MAC address, I suspect that the warranty people have lied to me and not done anything. Is this true?

Well you can start by doing at least the things you can do and if that doesn't work you need to call Apple.
1. Disk Utility- Open up Application/Utilities/Disk Utility select your hard drive on the left, click on Repair Disk Permissions and then Verify Disk.
2. Apple Hardware Test- insert the original install disk that came with your iMac, reboot and hold down the "d" key. Run the extended test.
3. If all of the above is not helpful then I would go ahead and erase and re-install the OS from your original install disk and see if you are still having the problem. Make sure to backup any files you need to save first.
If the problem is still there then it's time call Apple.

UIX Search Form "difficult" question

Say you dragged and dropped UIX search form onto the page. When you start the page it will render the result table without specific where criteria set, ie SELECT * FROM TABLE;
Questions:
1) How to add default WHERE clause for the first time when the page opens ie I want to have result page something like SELECT * FROM TABLE WHERE PARAM='bla';
2) Similar question but this time how to pass PARAM from some previous page?

1. Try setting an initial where clause on the viewObject that you used to construct the search form. You can do this in the BC4J editor (wizard) for your viewObject.
2. you would have to write an event handler and programmatically set the where clause on your viewObject.

HT5312 not getting the option to reset security questions when we sign into security questions

we are not getting the option to resent security quesions when we are attempting to answer the questions. We have a back up email saved but why are we not getting this option on the security question page?

The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address, which is not the same thing as an alternate/secondary email address. If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

Not much, print it using you printer (it's should be not far
from your
computer: Have a look around and if you find something with
paper inside,
that's the printer). Put the papers in a folder and send them
to Someone at
MS (You don't need to put a name: Usually it's Mr. Gates the
one who uploads
the pages himself, but I'm sure there are lots of MS experts
that will be
glad to help with the job).
Just a reminder: if your pages need to be uploaded as soon as
possible,
don't forget to put some extra Air Mail stamps on the
envelope!

IPhoto.db and others VERY DIFFICULT QUESTION!

I have an "iPhoto library" folder which contains an iPhoto.db file. What is this file?
Then within this folder there are some other folders:
let say one is called "Laura" which contains: .ipspot / iPhotoLock.data / Library.data / Library.iPhoto / Library6.iPhoto / Thumb32.data / Thumb64.data / ThumbJPG.dat / AlbumData.xml / Dir.data
This "Laura" contains a subfolder called "GOTEBORG" which is itself an iPhoto library with all the files I mentioned above for "Laura".
The only file I find ONLY in the first level folder "iPhoto library" is this iPhoto.db
I'd like to have all the "Laura" and "GOTEBORG" pictures in 2 separate iPhoto libraries (I use iPhoto buddy to switch between them), but I'd also like these folders to be independent, ei: not have "GOTEBORG" within "Laura"....
Can I take this "GOTEBORG" folder and drag it out of there and keep maintain a organised iPhoto library for it?
Same question for the "Laura" folder.

You might want to consider using the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager because it will let you move rolls or albums of photos from one library to another and maintain the keywords, comments, etc. That way you can put all of your GOTEBORG photos in the Laura library in one roll and then use iPLM to move it to the GOTEBORG library. Later you can delete those from the Laura library. The same would go for the Laura photos in the GOTEBORG library. iPLM makes it pretty seamless and easy to organize multiple libraries.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Itunes redeem gift cards & sign in password question

two questions:
1) my kids have gathered multiple itunes gift cards. is it possible to just load all the card numbers into the itunes redeem section, and use those for some other date, or do you have to download items immediately after listing each card?
2) got my new macbook pro. everytime i open itunes it asks me for my password, and most times, it asks me to type it twice. is there a way to just have itunes remember my password so i don't have to enter it EVERY TIME i open itunes. i don't see a "remember my password" icon when it asks me to enter it.

1) You can redeem as many iTunes Gift Cards to your account as you like, and spend the store credit from those cards at your leisure.
2) For security reasons, the iTunes Store does not remember your Apple ID password. If it did, my kids might reak havock on my account and yours could too lol

Aldiko Adobe DRM sign-in difficulties

When I try to sign in with my Adobe ID in Aldiko, it says, "Connecting to server". Then the sign-in screen dissappears without giving an error message! When I try to read a book, it prompts me to sign in again! What's going on? This worked before my device forgot all of my saved password data!
