Signature Capture Software Installation on PDA

Hi,
In note: 897289 (Signature Capture Software Installation/Deployment), Using functionality on PDA point (6), the creme version is 3.27a.
How to edit the 'Register Plugin/Unregister Plugin' file after copy to desktop?
And in /windows/creme/bin, there isn't the 'cremePie.dll' file, where to get it?
Because when click on 'Regiter Plugin', the message "Loadlibrary("CremePie.dll") failed. GetLastError returns 7e.

How to edit the 'Register Plugin/Unregister Plugin' file after copy to desktop?
Copy the files to desktop, right click ,select "send to" option and send it to either notepad or textpad. You should be able to edit this using notepad or textpad.
And in /windows/creme/bin, there isn't the 'cremePie.dll' file, where to get it?
Cremepie.dll will be in /windows/creme/bin. If it is not there,then creme installation is not successful. Try reinstalling the the creme again and after installing the creme, perform a soft reset of the device so that all the Dll's are loaded .

Applying Software Installation Policy Is Taking Long Time During Boot Process

1 of my servers is having slow boot up issue. I have enabled user environment debugging and the gpsvc.log file has been generated. I have also used the Windows Performance Analyzer to capture logs and results came back that the GP Client is taking a long
time in the boot process. So, I reckoned the slow boot is due to GPO but I am not sure where to look from this log file.
I have only paste part of the gpsvc.log file here due to limitation in the number of characters allowed to be posted. Would appreciate some good advise on this issue that I am facing.

How Signature Capture Works...

Hi All,
I am using MI 7.0.
I understand the functionality of Signature capture. It is kinda transferring a file (which contains the signature) from the client to the backend.
According to my understanding, the binary file of signature is broken into chunks of 255bytes and stored as items of a particular SyncBo, passed to the middleware and backend and reconstructed as an image again.
If this understanding is right, I want to use the same functionality to send any file from the client to backend and also from the backend to the client.
I had posted one thread before too which clarified many things- Re: Attaching a pdf file in the backend
I have some more questions, In signature capture, I assume, the breaking of a image into smalled chunks and recollecting of them happens automatically.
How can I do that with other files, like any other image?
What is the process of breaking image and recollecting into the backend?
(Like creating new SyncBOs, BAPI Wrappers for it and all, etc.)
How will this process be automated in a way that on the client, the user just browses the image from his PDA, attaches it, and it goes to the back on next sync.
I am not sure if the question is clear, Please ask for more clarifictions..

well, lets start this discussion with a short description:
The split process does not relly happen automatically as you said. Any file on the PC is stored in bytes and can be read as a usual text file. Java does not care i you read a textfile, an image, an app or whatever - it is just a 8bit byte structure....and so it can be displayed as a text structure. So if you show the image on the screen and you want to send it to the backend - mark it and start the process. This process reads the file form disc as a textfile, then splits it into chunks of 255 chars. So you have a string array in memory. This can be stored as SyncBO - same as the long text functionality for any other syncBO. a Text field with the chars and an index field - to know the correct order at the end.
That is all, storeit in an syncBo and sync. It goes to the backend. There you need to put the information together and store it as file. No issue - just development.
The same happens the way back: split the info in the backend, sync send it to the client, there take this information and store it to the file system of the device. Then you can display it.
Hope that makes it clear - rest should be straight forward development.....

Electronic signature capture - how to?

Anyone have a solution for Macs for electronic signature capture? I cannot find any compatible signature capture devices on the market. Something like Topaz.
Suggestions would be so very welcome.

Autograph from TenOne is software that provides simple signature capture via the trackpad of a laptop. But it's not like Topaz. There's also a plug-in for use with FileMaker. I found these from a Google search, so you might give that a try.

Failed to load Signature Capture Applet

well, could have several reasons.
The most common one is, you unfortunately use the wrong files. Either CAB with SUN or JAR with Microsoft.
I think the reason is: you have changed the IE JVM from Microsoft to SUN, meaning, that with the installation of JDK1.4 or later, you have overwritten the pre installed JVM from Microsoft with the one from SUN - so in that case you should use the JAR file and tell the setup procedure that your JVM is SUN and not Microsoft. At least that was the case for me last time as I faced this problem. Some users have mentioned the oposite problem. Even they are on a PC they have used the JAR files - but using the Microsoft VM in IE. In that case......
At least: check the version of the file and the setup procedure and try both version - as I said, that was my problem last time.

Processing Signature Capture

I have embedded the necessary XML in a mobile app to support the Signature Capture Form Control, however, I do not understand how to post the data back into the database and what form the data will be.
Does anyone have a simple example of what you need to do in the backend DB to process the signature data?

How to edit the 'Register Plugin/Unregister Plugin' file after copy to desktop?
Copy the files to desktop, right click ,select "send to" option and send it to either notepad or textpad. You should be able to edit this using notepad or textpad.
And in /windows/creme/bin, there isn't the 'cremePie.dll' file, where to get it?
Cremepie.dll will be in /windows/creme/bin. If it is not there,then creme installation is not successful. Try reinstalling the the creme again and after installing the creme, perform a soft reset of the device so that all the Dll's are loaded .

Signature Capture Plug-in

Has anyone used the PDA signature capture plug-in XcCtlrs through mobile internet explorer?
I am trying to use this plug-in to send signature capture data back to my application server midtier, however, the sig data returned is blank.
I am using the plug-in file xcctrls.wince.100803.zip. Is there a later version that works? Where can I download it from?

Signature Capture using MAM

I need to implement signature capture from PDA. Our client use MI 7.0
He wants to use MAM standar function and i don't know how to do that.
I was watching a function "MAM25_080_CREATE" receiving a table with chars, merge into a xstring (lv_signature_raw )
and later do "CALL FUNCTION 'ALM_ME_SIGNATURE_CHECK'" and "CALL FUNCTION 'ALM_ME_SIG_CREATE_ARCHIVE_LINK'".
Can do someone explain me what are this function do?
How can i get the signature using MAM and put in smartform to print?.

Signature capture overwritten files..?

I've just enabled succesfully the signature capture functionality in order to test it on my laptop. However, I noticed that the sign is captured in "C:\Program Files\SAP Mobile Infrastructure\work\sigdata.gif" and afterwards every new sign overwrites the old one, so actually only the last created one exists.
1) Does it means after every signing the user should synchronise..?
2) Call of MAM30_80 unfortunately ends with
Return code from RFC BAPI Wrapper call:Error occurred during character conversion
do you have any idea how this can be overcome..?
3) As far as I can remember from somewhere in the coding, the maximum size the sigdata.gif can have is 4K, right?

well, yes, the file is overwritten, but that is not that problematic!
The procedure is as folows: you save the file to the local disk - then with the screenchange MI reads the file and puts it into the SyncBO with reference to the actual data. So when you create the next signature, it is the same procedure, but a new syncbo is crearted. So yes, the GIF file itself contains always the last signature, but in the persistence you have all the GIFs since the last sync.
A gif can be larger 4KB, but it is unusual that it is. This is due to the size, the GIF format as such and that it is only 2 color. (Black/white) putting that into account, the size is usually smaller. But cause MI can only handel 255chars per field, the GIF is splitted into several items. Look into the persistence, there you can see that.
What confuses me a little is your error message - I think it happensat sync time and it is the error thrown in the middlewqare, cause you talk about the BAPI wrapper? If this is the case, go briefly again to the installation sequence and check if you have done the setup and installation correctly and if all notes are in. And then: you can look into the data on the middleware in MEREP_MON. Open the create handler in the backend and enter the data manually - this will give you a better idea about the error and will give you a hint how to solve it. Unfortunately it was morking always fine for me, so I can not really be helpfull on this bit, cause I never had that error.
But hopefully the other 2 points got more clear for you now.

Signature Capture Option missing in Preview

I have searched thru & thru for the tab that there should be in the Preview preferences and I just don't find one. I have PDF documents, I have turned on the annotations bar at the bottom and there simply isn't any option for signatures.
My OS is 10.6.8 and according to the software update function there aren't any updates available for it so I wonder what's the difference with my Preview...According to everything I've read so far, this version should have the signature capture option.
Can someone shed a light on this?

Well, thanks a lot Victoryhat, the mistery of the missing signature tab is solved It's not a big deal since I have other means to add signatures to PDF (Acrobat Pro) but it's a cool feature of that new Preview and it was annoying me not being able to use it...Btw, do you find Lion better & stable enough? (Sorry to digress here)

Solaris 7 Software Installation on x86 System Problem

Experienced error message "disk not found" just prior to Solaris execution of final installation process. This was during Interactive installation. Also recieved "cannot determine boot device name". Could not use set env command in order to set the boot device. It is telling us that there is no boot device set up. Need some information/commands that will enable me to get over this problem and complete the software installation.
This could very well be a simple fix, I just don't have the knowledge bas eto effect it. Please contact at [email protected] or 540 657-6585.

Okay, here's the followup and results for my install method.
1. It worked
2. Partition magic and Boot magic are not needed to make this happen.
3. Partition and boot magic do not recognize the solaris partitions on the second master IDE. In fact they give an error ( #110) and offer to "fix" the dirve which will corrupt the install of Solaris.
4. I had scanned the newsgroups and found a utiliuty called XOSL - Extended Operating System Loader at http://www.xosl.org it works like and absolute charm!

agood214 was using two physical drivers, but I tried on one 13 GB Hard Drive with 4 partitions (Solaris7, Win98, Win2000, data-partition) and working beautifully. In my case, I didn't have to disable anything in the BIOS to get them work. Just read though the manual in XOSL if you want to use this boot-loader and it is very easy to install. NOTE: you can not use 'instant boot' in XOSL to boot with the combination of WIN-OS and Solaris. Besides it, everything is prefect.

Create a signature capture for Windows Phone 8.1 App

I am creating a Windows Phone 8.1 app with signature capture control on one of my page. I am looking for an approach using C# so that I can draw points on a XAML with Canvas control. But it seems like that InkPresenter name space is removed from Windows
Phone 8.1. Is there anyway I can get it around?

Printer Software Installer has stopped working

Product: HP Laser Jet M1005 MFP
OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
Notebook ACER , Aspire 5349, Intel Celeron CPU B800 @ 1.50 GHz
(new notebook, old printer - printer worked well on Windows XP)
I downloaded driver ljM1005-HB-pnp-x64-en. Driver had been extracted and setup started.
Installation started and after some initialization (~10 sec) it kept writing:
Preinstalling the driver files... or Copying files to hard drive... (switching approx. once per second) after a while (~ 20 sec)
Printer Software Installer has stopped working. Windows tried to find solution but did not find anything.
I TRIED ALREADY EVERYTHING. I used patch for AMD processors (of course, did not work); I have Windows installer up to date; I disabled Internet Explorer 9.0 (I cannot uninstall and iether can I step back to IE 8.0 since notebook is brand new); There is no windows driver preinstalled for this printer and there is no similar driver working.
Driver cannot be installed and printer does not work.
Please, help.

I Installed the Apple Software Installer 1.0 Update Tonight

Hello-
I am not sure if this latest Software Update messed things up, but there are a lot of problems with my MBP now that I just noticed tonight after I installed this Apple Software Installer Update 1.0.
First off I am unable to watch any of the online videos like CBS nightly News, some of the BBC News Videos, as far as I can tell anything that shows its content on a video screen from the companies website. I updated Flash Player about 2 weeks ago to the current version because I started keepng Flash updated to the current version, someting I wish I would have never started. when I went to CBSnews.com, clicked on CBS Evening News, nothing (not even a video screen) shoes up but in small letters it says Please Upgrade Your Adobe Flash Player. According to adobe Flash (current versions for MacOS-Safari) I have the correct Flash version and I have watched these news broadcasts seveeral nights on ABC, CBS, and many other videos on mostly news websites. On ABC I noticed it tonight since I installed this Apple Software Installer 1.0 Update, it shows a blank video screen but in the middle it says, "This content requires Adobe Flash Player - Ver 10.1. (on top) and on the bottom is a link that says " Click here to get the latest version of Flash."
The latest version of Flash for a Mac using Safari is what I installed about 2 weeks ago and is 11.1.102.64. I am not sure what ABC means by 10.1. The versions confuse me, especially if I look in Safari under "Help"--> "Installed Plug-Ins", it usually just gives the first couple of numbers, but now I cannot even bring up "Installed Plug Ins" under Safari---Help---Installed Plug-Ins. it just gives me a blank screen.
Is it possible to uninstall an installed update? it is a major deal. any suggestions on what I should try? I know people who hate Adobe Flash (seems like there are a lot) will say get rid of Adone Flash. But whay would it stop showing me what is on the Installed Plug-Ins Page? Before, I just did this the other night, I open a new tab, go to Help on Safari's Menu bar to Help, then Installed Plug-Ins and it usually fills up the blank New Tab page with all the Installed Plug-ins. Down toward the end it will show me that Shockwave Player, I think Mac calls it is installed, and it just gives the first few numbers of the current version that is installed. Now I get no Installed Plug-Ins.
thanks for any assistance. I looked up in the suppot articles how to uninstall an installed Update. I was going to repair permissions, but I have only ever done that using the Operating Disk. that is how I was taught by a genius bar person several years ago, and I just kept up with it. when I repair permissions using Disk Utility from the dock, let's say I do a test run and 20 permissions come up, I repair them and nothing changes, but if I use the OS disk and repair the permissions, if there are a lot it will get rid of them all but it usually takes 2 runs at it. I know this is different from what most others say,

I use Firefox 95% of the time, and there's no problem with flash content (and I'm still at .55 - downloaded .64 last week but I haven't got round to making the change yet). At the rate they've been changing it recently it may well be out of date already .
I've been trying it in Safari, too with no problems apart from You Tube, but that's because I'm blocking Google cookies.
One thought does occur - if your Flash preferences are set to block all Local Storage, it may be that the problem site is trying to use Flash cookies (LSOs). I had this problem recently with the BBC iPlayer streaming content. Little Snitch notified an attempt to connect to a new URL - emp.bbci.co.uk.
If I disallowed it, no streaming; when I allowed the connection, it still wouldn't stream, so I did a bit of digging and came to the conclusion that it was trying to set a Flash cookie. When I unblocked, lo and behold - streaming resumed as normal.
I now have LSOs blocked in a more subtle way that lets the site think it's being set (but it ain't) and the streaming still works.
As for permissions repair - always repair from local; the permissions on the original disc will have been superceded by updates and new installations of Apple software.
DU needs to be reading the packages on the HD, not the (now out of date) install disc.
The recurring repair messages are normal and don't mean anything's wrong. As long as the final message is 'repair complete' there's no need to dwell on it.

Problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT

I have problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT (PSK30E-02T002B3) with no OS preinstalled.
I do the following:
1. Install Windows 7 x64, SP1.
2. Install LAN driver (device was not recognized by Windows 6) (downloaded from [http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=SE&LNG=26&userAction=S MP_RESULTS_PAGE&partNumber=PSK30E-02T002B3&serialNumber=&USER_ACTION=Serial%20number])
3. Install all Windows Updates from Microsoft
4. Run Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 - it installs a couple of drivers and then asks to reboot.
Here is the log file for the first try (win7update.log):

You are right this notebook model was delivered without OS.
Win7 64bit is supported for this notebook model and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on Toshiba download page.
What I can say is that all this stuff must be installed in right install order. I know it sounds stupid now but I recommend you to make clean OS again and continue installation following this installation order:
