U need to considere the MAIN belongs to both pages FIRST and NEXT, the NEXT is automatically called by the FIRST.
So in MAIN u need to implement a Text Element called at the end:
/E LAST_PAGE.
/: NEW-PAGE LAST.
Where LAST is the name of last page
In last page u need to insert the code to display the text

Printer prints one page

When i print a document, it prints only the first page, then i try to print something else and it takes the paper in but doesn't print it. i have to cancel printing, printer returns the blank paper it took in for printing, i turn off my printer then turn it on again in order for me to print another page.. what is the issue ?? it only started doing this recently...

How to get the print the page numbers in a report based on another report

Hi
I have a requirement in which i need to print the page number based on another report
example my request set has 3 reports
1 report prints 1- 100 pages
2 report page number should start from 101 - 110
3 report 111-
Can anyone please let me how to achieve this?

Hi,
You can create all the three report queries in one report creating separate query in the data model and then create the layout in proper sequence as required.
If you want to use separate reports only you might try the following:
In the first report use the after-report trigger and save the total no of pages in a table as a record.
In the second report fetch the value stored in the table and add it to the Page No. to obtain the Page No for second report.
Also in the second report use the after-report trigger and update the record created in first record to total no of pages + total no of pages of the first report.
In the third report fetch the value stored in the table and add it to the Page No. to obtain the Page No for third report.
Do remember to delete the record created in the table after-report trigger of the third report.

Simple Statement w/ subreport prints multiple pages

Hello all,
I have a CR 2008 migrated from older version (CRW 32 6,0,1,135 with VB6 driving the report) that is printing multiple pages when it should be only printing 1 page.
This report is a Statement that shows customer info and account balances. It has a subreport that typically prints 1 line of report data on each Statement. However, some customers can have 2 or 3 records printed in the subreport. And in the past this all worked fine - it printed 1 page for the Statement even if there were more than 1 record in the subreport.
After converting to CR 2008 (I did successfully implement SP1 then SP2 after a lot of confusion, then joined this forum - thanks much!) the Statement now prints multiple (identical) pages based on how many records are in the subreport data. I've played with it by testing with customers who had 3 records in the subreport and it generates 3 pages. I've tried modifying the Section control values like "Keep together" and others with no success. We are using VB.Net 2008 now to drive the report.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I really would appreciate your input. I'm not an expert with CR by any means but I have developed about 40 or so reports over the years and have a decent working knowledge.

That's a big jump from CR 6 to 2008.
It may be easier to just rebuild your report from the beginning rather than trying to fix this one.
Typically most update a few versions at a time and the import portion of the code can handle the updating relatively the same version. Cr 2008 is now UNICODE and completely different file format.

I am using Firefox 11 and I am unable to print web pages. I can print PDFs ok. I tried to open the prefs.js file to delete anything that starts with print and I get an error message.

When editing '''prefs.js''' you need to use a simple text editor program. WinXP Notepad messes up the line formatting of prefs.js, so I use Wordpad - but you need to save the edited file in a Text-Only format (Wordpad asks about that when you go to save the edited file). I never used Win7, so I don't know if that version of Notepad messes with the line formatting of prefs.js or not.
Another thing - make sure '''''"Hide extensions for known file types"''''' is de-delected in Windows file / folder options > view -> advanced settings. Otherwise Windows may add a .txt file extension that you won't be able to see, and that will break that file in Firefox. '''prefs.js.txt''' won't be recognized by Firefox, when is expecting to find '''''prefs.js''''' .

InDesign causing others to print blanks pages

Okay so this is a weird issue and I'm getting no results.
My issue is simple. After I print in ID anyone else I work with prints blank pages (We're printing through a network to a device). Also cyan prints incorrectly; however that is fixed if I open the print driver from the print dialog. Now the color thing is a problem through all the adobe software (Illy, Photoshop, Acrobat). No matter which program I use cyan prints wrong. But back to the main issue, strictly ID causes others to print blank. It isn't consistent either. A single document could consecutively cause the blanks then not cause them a little later. We've tried ever print driver possible and the problem persists. Another curious behavior with ID in conjunction with Acrobat is if Acrobat is open and I try to export to .pdf from ID then both programs freeze (however no message of either not responding comes up in the activity monitor) and the preferences are erased from ID
I've spent 4 hrs on the phone with Adobe support and it's just some indian reading from a handbook asking over and over if I deleted my preferences. I've spent days with the printer manufacturer and worked with 7 of their tech specialists and even had them send out a new unit and still the issues. I need to know if the rest of the world is seeing this. Or if this is even close to something someone has seen
So from what I'm seeing is a problem with the PostScript writing that's freaking it out but I'm not software engineer so I can't say for sure.
I'm running CC (though we still had the problems on CS6)

I actually have created a .pdf and had others print it (a file I create in ID and export to pdf). What ends up happening is if I try to print the pdf people after me get blanks. However if someone else prints it there is no issue. I may have left out an important point I'm the only mac that uses the printer, everyone else uses pc (and I don't know if that's an issue). I only have a postscript driver available (which is good) but i don't know what everyone else is using. I want to say in all of this i heard they have a PCL driver.
As far as the router, I'm hardwired into the network so there is no router. Konica and our IT have checked the network and ruled out that possibility (and I don't really know what that means)
But you are reaffirming the fact it is the printer and they need to fix it. And the fact that a document printed with only cyan is printed with all four colors to give me some weird off color makes me think the disconnect is between Adobe and the printer. But still so weird about the blanks.

SIMPLE APEX PRINTING IN 4.0

Question: Using APEX 4.0 I am finding that I am having a world of hurt trying to get very BASIC printing setup. I am not using BI and do not need PDF or RFT formats. Essentially, I would like to be able to create Interactive reports that do three things:
1) Provide a "Print" link for the user
2) Pass any interactive parameters to the print so the filtering and such are maintained
3) Disable the Interactive Search bar on the printer friendly page.
Working through the documentation I can't find any clear references to just printing a report on a page. I have found how to setup the printing for using the APEX_ADMIN site and I have found the "printer freindly" template and have been able to work with that. The rest is coming across very cryptic.
I thought these would be simple but every solution I try seems very "gummy". I have added a print link to the Navigation Bar but it always references the only a single page. So I added a print button to each page (which was easy) but it doesn't pass the Search and Filter parameters to the printer friendly view of the data.
I have also noticed that only about 2 pages of output go to the printer when I have about 800 records on the screen (that one is weird).
I am a very good PL/SQL programmer so if the solution is code-based, please hit me with it.
My platform is APEX 4.2 on Windows 2003 Server - Oracle XE

I have basically figured out the system now. here is what I have (maybe help someone else).
ON THE SERVER
1) I installed a standalong OC4J instance on my server
2) I connect to the admin control panel (port 8888 was the default)
3) I deployed toe FOP war file that comes with APEX
4) I started the OC4J
IN APEX ADMIN:
I logged into the APEX_ADMIN app and set the printing up in the Manage Instance section:
MANAGE INSTANCE ---> INSTANCE SETTINGS --> REPORT PRINTING TAB
STANDARD
HTTP
LOCALHOST
8888
/fop/apex_fop.jsp
Then I saved that.
IN APEX:
I The created a simple app with a Interactive Report. I edited the report to allow the DOWNLOAD section to use PDF.
When I ran the report and used the ACTION menu in the search bar, I was able to download to PDF and print the result. All parameters set in the search passed right through!
I then created another report of the "classic" variety and enabled printing and set the results for INLINE and PDF. That also worked fine.

New foxfire. now printer prints blank pages

recent firefox update. Now cannon printer only prints blank pages for e-mail files.

Simple start would be to see if you can print in another browser like Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, then we can identify that it is the Firefox update that caused this issue

HP Network Printer periodically prints a page from a web crawler

I support a HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn which ocassionally prints a page that says:

Sometimes the GET HTTP/1.1 statement is from http://www.sciencedirect.com.
I'm guessing that this is caused by some sort of web crawler that hits port 9100 at this printer's network address. Is there any setting on the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn that I might make to stop these pages from printing?
[ I know that blocking this port at a router may solve the issue, but I'm looking for a solution that fixes the issue at the printer, thank you. ]

Simple Explanation:
Internet users, likely Chinese, scan addresses (computers, or other devices that are networked) on the Internet that accept certain connections. They do this to probe for vulnerabilities to exploit, or to route traffic through machines as a “proxy.” Being a proxy means loading and sending information at the request of another. This can be used to bypass local security, such as China’s severe Internet censorship. It can also be used to hide traces back to the source, such as when a criminal doesn’t want to be located when hacking.
The printers are set up such that they can communicate outside the local network. This allows printing from other networks, but can be located by Internet users doing scans. Printers appear to these scans as a possible proxy. The printed pages are the commands sent as a test of possible proxies for use. The command means “tell this device to load this website and report back.” The printer interprets the request as a print job and prints out the given command.
This needs a fix, but is not critical. There is risk to lost supplies. The pages are also a nuisance. There is a smaller risk of a printer vulnerability being exploited for more serious use. This would be a complex and targeted attack instead of a broad scan.
Possible Solutions:
1) Block this traffic with a firewall
2) Block this traffic with printer access controls
3) Update the firmware on the printer to block this
4) Change the network configuration to not be accessible from the Internet.

Printer-Friendly Page

Hi,
My JSP needs to generate a "printer-friendly" version of a page.
1) As you know, the JavaScript print() method prints the page currently loaded in the browser. Can I, in my "Printer-unfriendly" page, have a Print button, which on click, calls a JSP/servlet, generates a "Printer-friendly" page BUT DOES NOT LOAD IN THE BROWSER, but prints? Or do I have to show the user the "Printer-Friendly" page before printing it?
2) What are the points I need to take care in order to make an HTML page Printer-friendly?

I, just recently, made this kind of page you're talking about and didn't find a simple and good way of achieving this through anything but a simple print-friendly page.
I did it using
# body-onload triggers the print() function
# through some logic (counting html lines) in the page I inserted the folowing html code to achieve
page breaks in the printed document:

# After the print method I forwarded the client to another page (which will happen even if the user
clicked cancel in the print dialogue)

JavaScript Print Button Page Range Not Working Ubuntu Linux

I have created a PDF file that has several button programed in Javascript to print a page or page range in the file. It works great in Windows and Mac but in Ubuntu Linux there is a problem. When you hit the button it brings up the Print window but it has all pages set to print instead of the 1 or 2 pages it is programed to print. How do you fix this. I used the following Javascript. Please help.

This is supposed to print only page 2 of the document but in Adobe Reader in Linux it wants to print page 1-12. Apparently the nStart and nEnd does not work. Is there another way to do this so it will work in Ubuntu Linux.

I suspect that the problem has to do with the added security
included in Flash 8 and above that restricts javascript. If you
search the flash player KnowledgeBase on Adobe.com you'll find more
detailed information about fixes, but here is what worked for my
Javascripted items.
Find your Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Captivate 4
> Templates > Publish folder. Within the folder is a
standard.htm file. Open this file (for this simple task, i just use
notepad). In the script section, add...
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess", "always");
you'll see other similar param declarations. It doesn't
matter the order.
You can edit the individual .htm file if you want to test
this first.
That should do it.

we need to create two pages, one of landscape and another of potrait.
now after filling the data at last we need to call the page which is of format landscape using START_FORM function module.
You can use condition &PAGE& = &FORMPAGES&.

Hp all-in One remote prints test page but cannot find printer for anything else

The HP All-in-One application can print test pages on my 8610 but when I go to any document or photo and try to print I get the following message "This Printer is not available." I have checked and have the latest version of the HP All-in-one Printer Remote application and the HP Print Service Plugin applications from the Google Play store. I am using a Samsung Galaxy 5 running Android 5.0. If I print a page from my laptop using wireless to this printer, I can see the All-in-One application tracking my printer status so I know it can see the printer. The app on the phone will show the status under the printer name going from Ready to Unavailable to Ready as a document is printed and then finished. I am printing directly with local WIFI and am not using the ePrint feature.

I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the issues you are having printing from your Samsung Galaxy S5 to your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One printer. Firstly, do you have the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet? The printer has a power moderator built in, so if it is plugged into a power surge bar or battery backup it may be getting inconsistent power. This can cause all kinds of firmware glitches (like the printer status not being broadcast properly). If that doesn't immediately resolve the issue, please follow the steps below: Network Power Reset: Let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.), then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection. Restore Network Defaults and Reconnect: 1. On the front panel of the printer, touch your wireless icon at the top2. Select Settings.3. Select Restore Network Defaults.4. Restart your printer.5. Once it's booted back up, touch the wireless icon again.6. Select Settings.7. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to enter your wireless network details.8. Try enabling the web services again. Another thing I would suggest, would be to download the HP ePrint app, rather than the All-in-One Remote. The Remote is moreso suited for scanning to your phone from your product, so I would suggest trying the ePrint app (you can download it from the Play Store). If the issue persists after these steps, please answer the following questions so I'm better able to assist: Are you able to print reliably from any other devices on your network?What brand and model of router are you using?What is it that you are trying to print? Why do I have to turn off and on my HP office jet 7500A every time I want to print a page? I can print one and imediatly try to print a second and it says it cant be found on the network.

Since going up to Lion I am having problems with my HP Officejet 7500A printer. It is on the network wirrelessly. After every page I have to turn the printer off and back on again because my mac cant find the printer on the network. The windows mechines here can still find it, but not my Mac Pro. What is going on?
Obviously I have it set up right because I can print to it. problem is my mac thinks it goes off line every time I tell it to print another document.
Anyone know of a fix?

Lion may have replaced files that partially made up your printer drivers. Either way, HP saw fit to make a new set of drivers specifically for 10.7 so you may want to use it simply to avoid any bugs tehy found.
