Simple search function

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to add a little text in my search function field.
my search sql command is:
SELECT $[OJDT.Ref2]
(the forum read it for some reason as an adress.. there is just [ ] outside of the OJDT.Ref2)
and when i'm doing it like this:
SELECT $[OJDT.Ref2] + 'text'
i get an error about the command line.
does anyone has an idea how can i do it?

1. If you want to see the code properly in your message, you should use the < .> icon (Click the display the text as code) at the top of the window.
2. The code Select
$[OJDT.Ref2]+'text'
should work if you use it as an FS inside a journal entry. (This reference is valid only inside an active journal entry transaction.)

Is there a simple search function available in the revised App Store?

I cannot seem to find a way to conduct a simple search of the millions of Apps in the newest version of the App Store in IOS 6? The older version had the Categories option with a search window included. The new version is far less flexible and causes a user to painfully conduct manual searches with out getting to the desired available apps quickly. If you do not know the exact app you want you are forced to do these manual searches which frankly caused me to give up after 30 minutes of trying to find a simple print app.

I have the same problem. You no longer have a widely comprehensive search, and iBooks search has the same issue. If you search for example, for "Sherlock Holmes," you used to get every Sherlock Holmes title. Now you only get titles with "Sherlock Holmes" in the actual title. You do not get "A Study in Scarlet" (the very first Sherlock Holmes novel).
So far, iTunes in my Mac allow comprehensive searches in both categories, but it has taken a lot of joy out of using iPad for me. I would look for cool new apps and titles when I had a few moments, but now I only look when I have something specific in mind because I can't really do it with iPad.

Simple Search in iWeb?

Is there any way that I can use a simple search function on my website? I just want it to search from a certain collection of pages that I have on my website, and just those pages. I also would love it if there was a way to do this that clean and good looking.

Using the search function in PP CC

Using the search function in PP, can the newest software create a new bin with ALL clips the search finds, instead of just one-by-one? I know PP isn’t FCP7, but FCP has a simple function when searching... put in the search parameters, it searches, finds clips, and asks if you want to create a new bin with those clips. Click “yes” and all found clips appear in the new bin. Wonderful! So can the new PP now do this? I can’t seem to find out, so I’m asking the community. Thanks in advance for advice.

Help needed: Search function for custom Repository Manager

i'm writing my own Repository Manager for EP 6.0 SP2 PL4.
I've serious problems getting the search function running. I'm using the 'new', Netweaver-based API.
I think, there are some general questions to answer:
- My Repository Manager exposes lots of custom
   properties to the system. I create the properties
   for example using following code:
   IProperty newProp = new StringSingleValueProperty(
     PropertyName.getPropertyName(
              "{}" + myAttName),
     myAttVal,                         PropertyFlags.constructFlags(
              true, false, true, false)
    Is there any convention for the propertie's name?
    I think it has to be written in lowercase only?
    Can I use ANY namespace I want instead of the
    empty default namespace? (For example:
- After indexing my resources (of course, containing my
   custom properties), the TREX-Monitoring screen for my
   index shows all my custom properties in the 'Document
   Properties' area, but all uppercase chars are escaped
   somewhat. Is this OK?
- Trying to use the index above to search for particular
   resources in my repository by my custom properties
   fails all the time ('no docs found...'); searching for
   any system property works fine. What's the reason?
- How can I force the (Property-) search uses my
   custom namespace-manager's methods
   isQueryPropertyNameUnderstood() and
   getQueryBuilder()
   to perform a 'pure' property search by the repository
   manager? It seems that the TREX always handles the
   queries by itself, because my methods are never called.

I created a new manager and copied the classes exactly from the "simple" example and I see similar behavior. Actually, when I do this, folders are recursively copied, but not files. Again, browsing and viewing of files work fine. Again, I am not seeing any unexpected exceptions.
The only thing that changed were the names and namespaces. Nothing else at all was changed.
This makes me think I am missing some configuration somewhere or there is something special about the example project that the wizards are not creating. The only difference I see in the project file is an additional nature (com.tssap.selena.cmf.PatternNature), but I am not sure that is relevant.
Wow, I am really stumped.

Extended Value Selector (EVS) and search function

Hi,
the tutorial "Value Help in Web Dynpro Applications" mentions that the EVS provides a search function. What does the search function look like? Does it work in such a way that only values beginning/containing a predefined String are displayed? How could one realise such a behaviour?

Hi Steffen,
nice to meet you here The filtering functionality of the EVS UI is based on a simple "starts with"-criterion. It does not support regular expressions. In addition it does not display those displaytexts which contain the given string as a substring.

Ibooks search function slow & sluggish after ios8 upgrade

With a large collection of digital books, I have always loved the ipad and ibooks for the simple fact that the search function was by far superior to those offered by other tablet competitors. I upgraded last night, and have immediately found that the search function is now sluggish and lags as i type (was not this way with ios7). I own an ipad air, and I have compared ibooks on my friends ipad gen 3 who is still on ios7 and hers is faster than mine!
What has changed to justify the sluggish feel and speed to what was once a very light and speedy app???

I experience this, too. I wonder whether the iBooks library search now extends to one's iCloud collection, slowing the process If that's it, there should be a configuration option to turn off the "feature."

HT1338 On macbook MAIL the search function doesn't work?

On my macbook retina pro with latest updated softwares the search function in "MAIL" doesnt work. It is supposed to be pretty simple fucntion and on my iphone and othe rmail programs it works fine. However once i type anything in "Search bar" at top right then inbox goes empty and nothing appears. Whereas the search bar gives options of sveral email names etc, even if i select one. It doesn't work.

Which search function do you mean?
*searching via the location bar (pref: keyword.URL)
*search bar on the Navigation Toolbar
*search bar on the about:home page (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename)
*other search bar (e.g. added by extension)
Is this about the about:home page?
If there is a problem with searching via the default about:home page then try to reset the search engine used on the about:home page.
Reset the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone pref via the right-click context menu to the default on the about:config page and close and restart Firefox to restore the about:home page to its default.

If this didn't help then delete the delete the chromeappsstore.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder and repeat the above.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

How to auto create Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu on new pages

Hi
First off I want to say I have just started using Html DB, and think its a great product! I have been using it for a few months now to create an application, and find it flexible, powerful, but still fairly simple to use.
When I create a new Application using "Based on Existing Tables", the pages that get created have some very nice Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features generated automatically.
I want to do the same when I add pages to an existing application. That is, I want new pages to automatically include those Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features.
I have tried various combinations of the existing wizards, but I have not been able to find any that generate all those features automatically. I know I can create pages using the page wizard, and then manually add the Report Search and Breadcrumb Menu. But that is very tedious. Nor can I find a better answer in the forum
Any suggestions or ideas?

Search function in DPS

Hey there,
I was wondering if there was a possibility to add a HTML search function inside the indesign DPS file.
We're currently working more and more with HTML features and it's kind of hard to know what eventually works and what doesn't.
At our agency we're "simple" graphic designers, we're not programmers. And since we're very bust, there isn't much time to expermint with somethinh that maybe won't work in the end. I think we all know that feeling ;-)
For some clients it's hard to tell what they exactly want and when they need to switch to XCODE for example.
And for us it's hard to say what's possible and what's not possible. We of course would like to keep as much as possible inside of indesign.
But the line of when to switch to full HTML/XCODE is really thin...
It has happend before that you start working on project an everything has been layed out, and one guy comes running into a meeting and says.
"Can't you add a search function? Or a function that exports pdf's? I've seen the app for XXXXX and they had it!"
For a client that works with a large productrange it sure would be nice if a search function could be integrated,
And it would also be handy if pdf's could be generated from a DPS app.
Can this be done? And is there a way to tell what's "DPS fiction" and "DPS non fiction"?

Hi Kevin,
MEI's Nervous Pixel division created search capabilities for the Sotheby's app. Our team worked to make the experience straightforward, but also easy for the design team to implement on a folio by folio basis. What is nice about that specific search approach is that it allows you to provide a search that gives greater context than just a word in a paragraph. In Sotheby's case, this allows them to return search results that reference a specific lot within their auction catalog with a preview of the piece and other important details.
MEI has created a number of custom functions for customers. In your second example regarding a PDF, there are a number of options that could be considered depending on the use case.

Why won't the jDev answer? Where's the search function?

This should be a very simple answer. Either there is or isn't a search function, like in the old forum. Which is it?

In addition, there should be a function to go back to the list.
It is painful to get back to where you started after you follow
a thread for a while.

Sql developer search functionality could be better

the search window closes after the first match,
when I am looking for all matches for a string, it takes more time.
There are plenty of example for good search functionality, with what I have experienced , the search feature in TEXTPAD is simple and works well.

Alt-F3 : Find Next Result
Shift-F3 : Find Previous Result
(In a SQL Worksheet) Ctrl-F Brings the search menu back up
(In a Code Editor Window) Ctrl-F Brings you to the search bar at the top of the editor. Ctrl-F twice will bring the search menu back up.

Ibook search function failing

Hi I am proofing an ibook on an ipad2 and after incorporating the corrections on a mac, I reloaded the file to iBooks multiple times, using Apples bookproofer 1.0.1. on the mac.
Workflow: Indesign epub unzipped then to dreamweaver xhtml file reconverted to epub using a applescript called epub zip 1.0.3.
I am now finding that the search function is limited to the first three letters of some words. The search function is not finding whole words, rather only partially finding words in the document. This is happening for words that are occurring multiple times in teh document, some very simple words ie Tony. It finds the first three occurrences but not the ones later in the document.
This phenomenon was not occurring when the book was initially installed. The problem has only been noticed after multiple uploads of the ibook during the proofing process.
Another example of the issue is as follows:
Type or select 'volendam' or 'Volendam' and it finds nothing
Type 'volen' and it finds nothing
Type 'vol' and it finds the first three leters of Volendam (FYI A Dutch fishing village) along with multitude other words like 'volume'.
I have done a reset…reset all settings. I have deleted the ibook and reinstalled. I have deleted the ibook app and reinstalled. Turned of autocorrection autospelling, no joy.
I have loaded the ibook on another ipad2 and the search works correctly – so the issue is this ipad2. It's not jailbroken.
It doesn't appear to happen in other ibooks, although I haven't had time to fully check.
Any help appreciated.

Update,
The problem was overcome by installing the ibook thru itunes and syncing. It appears no longer as a proof ibook but as an ibook.
All the searches work correctly.

Hi and welcome to the discussions. This happens once in a while for no apparent reason. When it happens to me, a simple log out/log in usually gets things going again. I haven't researched to see what process died when this happens.
If that doesn't, then a restart, but first check Spotlight in System Preferences and make sure that the Privacy list is empty.

IPhone 5s Voice memo to mp3. Now music on iPhone. Won't play from search function.

I record my band rehearsals using the voice memo on my iPhone 5s. Then I sync to iTunes and convert file to mp3. When i sync back to my iPhone it appears in my music. So far, so good. When I use the search function in music it finds the file but won't play from tapping. I must troll through all my music songs (currently 2227 of them) to find it and then play it. Is it something to do with it still being under the genre "voice memos" or what ? Anybody help please. Thanks

iWeb is an application to create webpages with.
It used to be part of the iLife suite of applications.
iWeb has no knowledge of the internal speaker on your iPhone.
You may want to ask in the right forum.
