Simple serach across all crm objects

Dear experts,
according to sap documentation
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/EN/e8/60b3b80c9646d0af73ad13b52217a0/frameset.htm
it should be possible to start a search for all objects that have been defined to be used in the central search. The documentation says:
"The All Objects entry only appears if more than one searchable business objects have been registered in the central search Customizing."
I've configured four searchable business objects that can be choosen in the menu of Saved Searches. But the "All Objects" entry does not appear..
Please help me out of this.

I guess maybe you've solved this issue already, but just in case others might come accross this thread and need answer to this. Please allow me to provide my findings here.
The All objects will appear with two conditions:
1.Connectors for search objects are ready.
This can be checked via transaction ESH_COCKPIT. Some known issue is that after system copy, this transaction might failed with a short dump. Then you might think of executing the report ESH_ADM_INDEX_ALL_SC to delete and recreate everything.
2.There should be more than one entry with object action = H in the spro Define Central Search menu

I am using the authentication filter to secure my application and following the section in the developers guide on "authorization rules" was successfully able to retrieve the userid that i logged on with and restrict the records returned for a view object by adding/overriding methods in view object
My question is - i want to be able to do this for every view object in my application - is there an easier way than repeating this same code in each view object ??

You can create an application-level superclass for your ViewObjects: <YourApp)ViewObjectImpl. In this class you can put the methods to restrict the query.
All your ViewObjectImpl's should then subclass your application-level ViewObjectImpl class.
You can also configure BC4J to automatically use your superclass for newly created View Objects. You do this in Tools -> Preferences ->Business Components -> Base Classes.

How to activate all inactive objects for current user

How to activate all inactive objects for current user ...
... I have found a (long winded) way to do this:
- Environment / Inactive Objects
- Add to Worklist
- Display Worklist
- Select All
- Activate
this will open a dialog titled "Inactive Objects for <username>"
which has the exact functionality I need ... but I can't figure out how to get to this dialog directly - without so many intermediate steps
the SAP docs repeatedly mention the ability to activate the inactive worklist - but do not mention how
does anybody know the TCode for this dialog?

No other way. But usually it's far more simple as all objects are already in our own worklist.
I wonder why your objects are not already in your worklist, as everytime you create or maintain an object, it is added to your worklist.

How do I find out all the objects I use in my application.

As I am creating my documentation, I realized it would be helpful to know all the objects that my application uses ( tables, views, packages etc). Is there a way to find that out i.e. any script or simple alternative etc ?

Sync stopped across all my PCs after updating to FF 20.0 on a Linux PC (mix of FF versions). Logs indicate err 503, so coincidence; will this resolve itself?

I use Sync across a desktop PC and a laptop PC. The desktop runs Vista; the laptop dual-boots Linux and WinXP. Back in the day, I initiated Sync with the desktop, then paired both Firefox installations from each of the laptop's OSes. I sync all available objects. I haven't used Firefox on the laptop/WinXP since before the issue started, and I cannot recall what version I'm at there. I have not attempted to run Firefox from the laptop/WinXP side since the issue started.
My experience has been unremarkable (good) until just a couple of days ago. On the desktop I was already at Firefox ver. 20, while on the laptop's Linux OS, I had been at FF 19.
On the laptop/Linux, I had these recent experiences just before the trouble started:
1) Operating under FF 19, Sync appeared normal. Autoupdate to ver. 20 offered but would never connect and start when selected. Abort and re-check Help->About presented a manual download link for ver. 20 instead.
2) Updated via manual download/install of ver. 20 via suggested link. No issues noticed; Sync appeared normal.
3) Unrelated activities caused me to boot Linux under a root filesystem (including /home) version from the day before I installed ver. 20, and I needed and did run FF ver. 19 again while on this filesystem. Sync _may_ have run and if so, I do not know if it was okay with going "back in time" this way. I was not paying close attention to it at the time, except to say I didn't notice anything unusual about my browsing experience.
4) With the unrelated activities handled, I resumed booting from my normal and current root filesystem, containing FF ver. 20 and my /home and profile from after the upgrade. Again, I did not notice anything obviously wrong.
Later, on the desktop system, the next sync caused all the graphics in my selected personas skin to vanish, leaving just the underlying color style. No other stored personas worked. All sync'ed items appeared to be untouched, but the problem with the personas skins alerted me to somthing being wrong. Attempts to re-sync failed.
Still later, back on the laptop/Linux, the next sync produced the same effect with the personas skins. They remain listed by name, but their source graphics (including addons list icons and text descriptions) have vanished. No other issues are apparent, and no addons or settings, etc. appear to be missing.
Re-sync attempts from either system now fail, but after retrying, indicate the problem is with the server being unavailable due to maintenance...suggesting the Sync service is having an issue, and when it comes back, this will resolve itself. Is that the case, making this just a big coincidence, or is there more going on?
I can provide the saved log files from either the desktop FF ver. 20, or the laptop/Linux FF ver. 20. I cannot provide any logs from the backup root filesystem that contained laptop/Linux FF ver. 19, as that snapshot is now gone. Also, I've not run FF (ver. ?) from the laptop/WinXP side so far during this evolution...but I could provide data and logs from there if it would help.

UPDATE 04260817z -- Suggestions?
The latest Sync log for my desktop system indicates sync completed this time, but there appear to be problems with the personas skins addons. From what I can gather trying my best to interpret the log, something might have happened with one of my paired instances of FF when it transmitted or updated the list of these addons. This log indicates it cannot sync the personas skins because they're not available from the sync store (and they've been partially wiped out from my FF instances). So I guess my desktop's FF knows it has had a given personas skin installed, and when trying to reactivate it, discovers the data is missing, and tries to fetch it from Sync, but sync doesn't have it...stuck.
Have a look at this log, confim my interpretation, and please offer suggestions for how to try to proceed without breaking anything else. Thanks!!

After turning on iTunes Match, songs in playlist are in the wrong order across all devices.

So in iTunes, my client had several playslists, all with songs in a specific manual order. None of them are smart playlists.
After iTunes Match was activated, the song order seems to have changed in every playlist and on one iPhone where the same iTunes Match account was also enabled on.
We know they are in a different order as an iPod touch that does NOT have iTunes Match enabled yet still has the original order.
Just wondering what the best way to fix this would be. Should we manually drag the songs to the right order or is there a simpler way to revert to how they were ? Also would manually moving the update the order across all iTunes Match devices ?

This worked although it was very clumsy (we had almost 3,000 files that had to be deleted and redownloaded. I could not figure out a way to sort all of the 'exclamation points' together so it took an hour or so to scan through the entire library list and delete each file individually and/or in small groups.) The download was very straight forward. In my experience (with iTunes match turned on,) we did NOT loose our playcounts.
Going through all those files I noticed several common themes that may have triggered the problem: 1) multiple artists, 2) special characters in the song title, artist and/or album name - particularly umlauts (we have quite a few german songs in our library.) 3) very long title, artist and/or album names.
I hope that someone from Apple is aware of these issues and working on them....

How to distribute photos on a page when they are all smart objects

I have 5 images on a page in 3 columns, 2 each of 2 and 1 of 1
They are all Smart Objects that have been resized and cropped to fit the openings they now occupy.
I've been sizing, aligning and distributing these things by eye but watched the tutorial on how to use the alignment and distribution buttons so thought I'd try that.
Things seem to go ok when aligning edges ...for example if I select the two images in the center column and align their left or right edges that works OK. Similarly I can select the top or bottom edges of the large on in the column of its own on the right and align its top edge with those in the other two columns and ditto for the bottom edge.
When 'distributing' them however, things don't work, The distribution tool seems to be working off the underlying images rather than the visible images which have been resized ...and sometimes changed ...via the 'replace contents' command.
Is there a way to get PSCC 2014, latest build ...to distribute based on what is visible instead of what the underlying image is?

The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
Size the photo collage templates for the print size you want - width, height and print DPI resolution.
Photo collage templates must have a Photoshop background layer. The contents of this layer can be anything.
Photo collage templates must have alpha channels named "Image 1", "Image 2", ... "Image n".

Documentation and Examples
Any size image can be fitted to any image location however it works better when images and image locations have the same orientation. Landscape to Landscape Portrait to portrait.
Note the difference in the populated images here when Image and image location orientations don't match up.

A script that will query for the last successful backup to tape across all protected datasources

I've searched trying to locate an existing script for this and come up empty so far but essentially what I am trying to do is have a script I can run that will query for the latest backup to tape that succeeded for each data source across all of the protection
groups then output that time/date for each to a file.
I'm extremely new to scripting so I am unsure of how to go about getting started with this so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Simple solution to imessage not syncing....
I did it and I hope this solves your problems too!! My wife's devices would NOT sync imessages the way we think iMessage should sync intuitively. I figured it out and it's now working perfect from what I can tell.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com and make sure under phone numbers you have your cell phone number filled out! I deleted prior threads before testing (not sure if that was necessary) but now it's working like a charm. (might take a second to ping the phone number to the imessage server)

Calculate % of answers across all records in a list

I have a list that gathers information from users. I want to calculate the percentage of a given answer across all records. To keep things simple, consider the following example.
A list called "Shirts" contains 3 choice fields:
1) Color: with choice options of Red, Blue or Green
2) Size: with choice options of Small, Medium or Large
3) Style: with choice options of T-Shirt, Button-up or Long-Sleeve
At the bottom of the page I want to display what percentage (across all records) that the shirt color chosen was Blue.
So if I had 10 records in the list and 4 of those listed color as Blue, the bottom of the main view page would show: Blue = 40%. This percentage would then update as more records are added. ie - an 11th record is added that does not choose Blue so the percentage
would then display as 36%.
I know how to do calculations like this within a given list record but I need a way to keep a running calculation across all records that updates as new records are added.

As a workaround, you can use JavaScript to retrieve items value from a List and calculate the value according to your requirement, then display the result in the list
view page.

Application object content search across multiple (many) objects

Hi guys,
I have about 500 application objects and one of these is pushing through
a bad registry setting.
I know what the setting is, but how do I search across all of them quickly.

The easiest thing to do is to search c:NALCACHE for the string desired.
I don't have ZEN at my current location so I can't be 100% sure, but I
believe much of the info in these cache files is stored in pseudo
english so a search may work.
The info is stored in DS in a manner that is less easily retrievable.
(I.E., Pull up DSReports and browse the object, you will not see all of
the entries.)
As I am thinking, at my last job I ran a nightly routine that exported
all apps to AOTs using the ZFD3 toolkit and than ran another tool from
the kit to convert the AOTs to AXTs. Then I could do an easy file find
on all of my apps. The list of apps was generated using a tool from
JRBSoftware. I don't have the script anymore, but is you are skilled at
scripting, that may give you an idea for something that my become a
multi-purpose tool for you.

Recompile all invalid objects in live database

Hi Expers,
Just need a clarification on recompiling all invalid objects in production database when the systems is busy.
i thought of recompile all the invalid objects using utlrp.sql script in my production database since some of few synonyms were invalid after application patch script been implemented last weekeend.
we have identifed the invalid objects now, i thought to run the utlrp.sql, what will be the consequences.

I'd reserve utlrp.sql for upgrades, downgrades and patchsets. I do agree 101% with above point, I a not denying on that.
If you really have a large number of invalid objects, you might choose to compile a few "selected" objects every hour instead of running a single-shot "compile all invalid objects". Rare but a possible requirement.I came across such requirement during early days of career during pushing product enhancement to production and we would have get to know the things and number of objects which would go invalid as we use to carry out testing on test databases.
I agree completely utlrp.sql is suggested and should opt for.

Change Ownership of all EUL objects

Hello all,
Is there an easy way to manipulate my EUL(5) so that all Database objects (tables, views, packages, procedures etc.) refer to a different Schema owner. I do not want to manually update the EUL tables and have not found a straightforward and reliable way to change the ownership of all objects.
With other words I am looking for an easy way to transfer my existing EUL to a different schema with an identical structure as where the EUL is based on but a different schema owner.
I am aware that all custom folders have to be updated manually but that seems to be the least of my problems.
It would be great if any of you could shine their lights on this issue.

Thanks for your fast reply. I was not aware that all folders could be highlighted and change the ownership in one go. That tip saves me a lot of work (Our schema contains around 1800 tables/views) We have already two BA's for admin purposes called "All Applicationname Tables" and "All Application Name Views" so I only need to highlight the folders in both these BA's and I'm done with all the simple folders. I assume the complex folders will inherent the ownership of the simple folders they refer to. Then it is only the packages, functions and editing the custom folders to be taken care of. That is something I can live with.

Middleware error while Generating all Required Objects(SMOGTOTAL)

Dear Experts,
I am trying to establish Middleware setup between CRM2007 and ECC 6.0.
When i am trying to Generate all Required Objects in CRM by using T.code SMOGTOTAL
when i checked Status of Generation Job by using the Tcode GENSTATUS we are getting an error saying
"/1CRMGC/CGCUST_TG_WRITE_DTC:The data object "<FS_DTC>" does not have a component called "GROUPNO"."

Reason:
Based on the generation it will be decided to add the field
GROUPNO to the generated database table. If the table has been generated once, the generation will step over it each time afterwards.
That means, after doing changes regarding that, the generation will not
create the table again.
=> In the first generation run the error has occurred (I don't know why).
So in all other generation runs afterwards it has not been corrected.
Then you have to removed the generated table and run the generator
DATA_COLLECTOR_TABLE of the generator group "Data Collection Service".
Afterwards, the table will be created with the field GROUPNO
Hope this will solve your prob.

Hi,
Your question 1 is not very clear. Are you taking about Export and Import under TOOLS --> EXPORT / IMPORT? If yes, all objects created in the IR and ID can be exported and improted. They are used for moving your objects from one environement to another .TPZ files.
Individual Objects that can be improted in the IR are those that come under
1. External Definitions --> XSD, WSDL, DTD which acts
as the message types.
2. Idocs and RFC's.
3. Imported Archives -->External Mapping progrars ( Java and XSLT ) , external .jar files etc.
Context objects is nothing but to put in simple words an XPATH. At times XPATH can become too long and complex and to avoid typing them at different places, you create CONTEXT Objects for these path and then use them.
Logical Routing refers to Conditional Receievr / Interface Determination where on the basis on some conditoon your target Recievr / Interface is determined.
