Simple Viewer

OK, so first off I need people to check out my site because this is going to be really hard to explain. My computer crashed and when pulling over back-up stuff I forgot to bring over my MassReplaceit stuff and lost/forgot for to work the flash in my site.
Go to my site, click on headshots, the men's section comes up. When you click on women, it goes to a new page without all the language on the left side. I used to have it that when you clicked on the women, the only thing that changed was the little SimpleViewer box on the right. Can't make my brain remember how to change the code to make only the flash box change on the not the whole page.
THanks!

  • Simple viewer help

Hi all, I need your help. I have created my website, and I'm linking it to mobile me galleries. (no problem). But-- instead of mobile me galleries I would like to link to Simple Viewer.
No problem creating the SV galleries in iphoto , but getting them on my site is baffeling.
I have read all the posts, and have had no success. I am a novice and the nominclature is rough
As I said , I created the gallery folder and placed it in the sites folder on my idisk. when I click on the index folder within the gallery appears and the address is file:///Volumes/rgardnerimages/Web/Sites/slideshoe/index.html nothing I do is linking it to a web page. Any help in simple language would be helpful.
    My website is http://www.richardgardnerphotography.com/RichardGardner/richard_gardnerhome.html
    Thanks in advance
    Richard

Its so long since I did this that I to look back and see where my files were uploaded and how they are organized.
Its seems I have the following files uploaded to the main folder on my server:
    flash_detect.js
    image data.xml
    images
    PostCard.html
    thumbs
    viewer.swf
PostCard.html is the index.html file renamed so that it doesn't conflict with the index.html file generated by iWeb.
If you are using MobileMe to publish you can upload these files to the Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites folder and the URL will be..
    http://web.me.com/username/PostCard.html
Its probably better to upload them to your website folder. The path is Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites/WebsiteName folder and the URL for the link to it will be ....
    http://web.me.com/username/WebsiteName/PostCard.html
These uploads are done by drag and drop. Follow the path from the Finder/Go menu or do Shift - Command - I from any Finder window and then double click the Web then the Sites folders to get to your actual website folder.

  • Simple Viewer in iWeb

I have already been in communication with the people at Rowan Cottage regarding the instructions. Please check the comment board there for Simple Viewer if you need to get up to date on this issue.
Repeated attempts(following the instructions very closely) have led me to a brick wall at the part where you place the slideshow folder in it's permanent location, ie: iDisk/Sites. You should then be able to go to this slideshow via this address:
    homepage.mac.com/yourusername/yourfoldername/index.html
I continually get the ERROR 404 page. Michael has been involved and attempting to resolve this issue but to no avail, so far.
Has anyone else had these problems and if so, solutions?

    steaditwo...
    A few questions for you...
    1. How are you generating the SimpleViewer gallery? iPhotoExport? Photoshop plugin? jAlbum? Picassa? or manually via buildgallery.php?
    2. Do you mind providing your actual information? .Mac username and slideshow folder name?
    3. Do you have desktop syncing activated for your iDisk in System Preferences? If so, make sure you force a manual sync.
    4. Before you copy your slideshow folder to iDisk/Sites/ does double-clicking on the index.html file launch your gallery? After copying to the iDisk/Sites/ folder, can you click on the index.html file there to launch your gallery?
    5. Are you sure you are copying the slideshow folder to the iDisk/Sites/ folder....not the iDisk/Web/Sites/ folder???
Let me know, and we'll go from there.

  • Simple viewer won't export comments and the sequence is wrong

    I am stuck....
I have added simple viewer on my site, but the comments of every photo are not there.
    - In iphoto i have added the comments with every photo.
    - With iphoto export, i made the simple viewer file. Everything works fine accept from the comments they are just not exported.
    - Also the sequence of the photo's are different in the simple viewer. It seems like the photo's are displayed (or exported) at random.
Has anyone an idea how I can find a workaround and to get these two issue's solved?

    Hi Dhara,
I've been working with Simple Viewer for a couple of weeks now (you can catch my posting and all the replies on the Boards).
Regarding your issues, my recollections are as follows....but, remember I'm a novice and not an expert on this:
    1. Comments: Make sure that you check 'Use Comments' in iPhoto Export.
    2. Sequence of Photos: I had the same problem with this. I went back to my iPhoto folder and actually changed the file names to 1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc. Then, in iPhoto, I sorted the photos: View, Sort Photos, By Title. I had to move a few manually in the iPhoto display, as numerically sorted some fall out of 'order'. After saving this folder, run iPhoto Export and proceed as you did before.
Again, I am a newbie...so maybe see if some of the 'gurus' on the Boards post a fix as well. And, let me know if this works!
    Good luck

  • Simple viewer integration

Can anyone tell me how to integrate a simple viewer gallery into my iweb site through .mac?
    thanks
    s

    Svendo,
So on my photo page, I started with a blank template. Then I drew a text box just big enough to accomodate my gallery viewer (908x522). I then typed some placeholder text "PHOTOGALLERY" and then published the page. Then I found the page.html file and opened it with my text editor and found the PHOTOGALLERY placeholder text. I replaced this text with the iframes code below...
    <iframe src="http://homepage.mac.com/jwtseng/1/" width="908" height="522" scrolling="no" border="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Save and that's it. So for your own gallery, you'll need to determine the dimensions and edit the width and height values. And obviously you'll need to edit your own URL depending on where you end up saving the folder. Just think of the iframes concept as a webpage within a webpage and it will become clearer.
The gallery that you see is composed with a free app called "Expose" It is wonderful and has a Mac gallery manager available. I like the AirtightInteractive templates as well (simpleviewer, postcard viewer, autoviewer). But I like the whole gallery in one idea...today. Haha...
Hopefully you have found to be helpful or even an answer to your questions.

  • Need Flash Help - configuring AIrtight Simple Viewer Pro

I need some help configuring the Airtight Interactive simple viewer pro, which requires flash. I am a complete beginner with flash, and I am reluctant to undertake the learning curve, though I am very tech saavy.
My ideal would be to locate someone who could do this FOR me, though resources are very limited for this project. Any suggestions of where I might connect with someone interested in doing this?
Alternately, I could undertake it myself, with someone qualified to coach me rather thouroughly through the whole process. That could be offline, or here where others could benefit from the thread. If someone offers this, I will post the precise details of what I need. The project is medium challenging, not extremely complex, but more than very basic.
    Many Thanks.

    Hi:
When you create the simpleviewer slideshow with iPhoto's plugin there should be a folder created on your HD that contains the items seen in the screenshot below:
The folder was named simpleviewer because that's what I named it during the export from iPhoto. That's the same folder as I refer to as "Slideshow folder". It can be whatever you name it when exporting from iPhoto. Upload that folder to your iDisk/Web/Sites folder as shown below:
In the iFrame code use the following URL to the index.html file inside the simpleviewer folder:
    http://web.me.com/YourMMe_AccountName/simplerviewer/index.html
    That should do it.

  • Old Toad, question about your demo website and simple-viewer.

This is for Old Toad. I checked out your demo site which is awesome. I read the tutorial,
*Examples of SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter Slideshows (plugins for iPhoto)*
*ADDED USING HTML SNIPPET AND IFRAME*
This was great but I am still running into a roadblock. The issue seems to be that in the URL that is given on your demo page...
    *http://web.me.com/youraccountname/slideshow folder/index.html*
....it says to enter my account name (which I did).
I am uploading the simple-viewer folder to my iDisk using the Go menu but inside of the Web/Sites folder there is no folder called Slideshow Folder. So am I right in thinking that the URL has nothing to point too because that folder isn't there? Why isn't it there? And is there anything I can do to solve this? Is there another place the simple-viewer folder should be on my idisk?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

How did you resolve this? I am almost at breaking point trying figure it out?

  • Does LR 1.3 include Simple Viewer 1.8 ?

When I make a Web Gallery using the Simple Viewer option and preview it in Internet Explorer, the screen shows a message stating that Flash is needed to view this page even though I have Flash 9.0 on my computer. I understand from Airtight that Simple Viewer 1.8 is needed to overcome this problem. So, does my LR 1.3 include Simple Viewer 1.8 or an earlier version?
    Thank you.
    Bill

Just a guessing game, but it seems the embedded version is effectively older than 1.8...
    What happens if you :
    - download the simpleviewer 1.8 archive at http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/,
    - just update the swfobject.js script in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Lightroom\shared\webengines\simpleviewer.lrwebengine folder?
Please backup everything before, of course ;o).

  • Having difficulties posting my simple viewer in the HTML snippet box

My simple viewer files are in my site folder Home-sites-jmb-sculptural work
do I need to upload this to the web to have the HTML address work
I have gotten other HTML objects to show up... just not my simple viewer
I have to admit that my skills with HTML involve a lot of cut and paste skills
I really don't know HTML tech at all

Yes, you have to upload the SV folder with its file to your iDisk and then add the following code to an HTML snippet:
<IFRAME SRC = "URL to the index.html file that's created inside the slideshow folder on the hosting server" WIDTH="XXX" px HEIGHT="XXX" PX FRAMEBORDER="O" --if "0" no border, otherwise "1" with border MARGINWIDTH ="Opx" MARGINHEIGHT="Opx" SCROLLING="no" --"no" no scrolling bar, "yes" show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
This demo page, SimpleViewer and Flash Album Exporter, has an example of such a SV presentation and describes the steps how to set it up.

  • Airtight simple viewer in LR 3

Hey what happen to the ability to watermark the photos when using this Airtight simple viewer in web output!  Why would they take that out in LR 3 it was in the beta?

The TTG Simpleviewer gallery takes watermarking into account, and is free.

  • Upgrade Simple Viewer

The "Simple Viewer" website indicates that the viewer will now work with iPhones and other non-Flash enable applications. Yet, when I build a gallery in Bridge using Simple Viewer it does not work without Flash. Is this an upgrade issue? And, does anyone know how to upgrade so that it will work through Bridge?

Well, you are probably correct. It is included with the default installation of Bridge as one of the slide show templates. When you open the output tab in bridge and create a web gallery, there are three "Airtight" options: Airtight Postcard Viewer, Airtight Auto Viewer and Airtight Simple Viewer. "Simple Viewer" is a nice, simple web gallery show that looks good when embedded into a Dreamweaver page.
But, as I said, it only works if Flash is installed. When I went to the Simple Viewer website (via the hot link embedded into the template in Bridge) the description says it works on iPhones and other browsers that do not have Flash installed. So, I was just trying to figure out why it says that, when the version that came with Bridge does not work on sites that don't use Flash.
I'm guessing that Adobe Bridge uses an older version of Airtight Simple Viewer and 1) I am a little surprised that they don't update it since it comes with the default installation of Bridge and 2) since it was installed with Bridge, I'm not sure how to update it even if I download the update file -- I don't know where Adobe Bridge puts the file or what I have to do to update it. The Simple VIewer site allows you to download the product and run it as a separate action, but I did not find any instructions on how to incorporate it into Bridge, so that if replaces/updates the Bridge plug-in.
I was just hoping for some guidance, thinking (apparently incorrectly) that Adobe would offer some support/assistance/guidance for a product they include with their default installation of Bridge.

  • I have Elements 12.  I'm a new user.  Can I use the organizer as a simple viewer of photographs from a file without opening each individual photo up individually like you do with the editor?  Sometimes I just want to look at the pictures.

Do I use the organizer to use Elements 12 as a simple photo viewer?  Typically with photo viewers, you can access each photo in a file and go from one to the next without opening a specifc file such as with the Editor.  I am new to this.
Or am I expecting too much from Elements?

I was digging around with the instructional videos offered at the Adobe site and I believe I have answered my own question.  The key is to import the photos into the Organizer and then it can be used as a simple viewer.  I have always been hesitant to import any of my photos into any kind of "organizer" in the past and always just viewed the photos from the file folder as I wanted.  But the MS viewer is not very handy from my point of view and I always used Photo Impressions in the past on my other computer.  I don't want to download this software again due to all the adware that I expect will be present in the free version.  My virus software will choke on it I'm sure.

  • Simple viewer help needed please

I need help with this exact problem please which was posted by Kirby on 9th Feb
I can't save into the idisk/web folder although I can copy the files over after they refuse to open (if that means anything)...

  • Problem with simple viewer

i am hosting to a non .mac to make that sure
the website is not online yet.
i followed the instructions from rowan-cottage.co.uk about adding a simple viewer INTO a existing page. i did all that - but when i finally look at the page it turns out that the simpleviewer (inside the text box /400 x 400/) is missing its half and not very centred, what did i do wrong, or is the size to small?
    thanks already
    mac.pro(but no web pro)

id like to know how i can put something INFRONT of
the viewer, to be excact to hide the button which
links anybody clicking on it to be linked to the
sideviewer homepage, cause if i just put something
infront, it seems to move back when i visit it on the
    web.
Sure you can. Just position a blank text box in the vicinity of what you are trying to mask off. Then use the Inspector Graphics tab to color the background of the text box the same color as the rest of the background (black).
second question, as i'm hosting to a non.mac host, i
wanna know how i find out the adress to where the
iframe in the page links to the index.html (from
slideshow). do i change that on my computer, or put
it on the FTP and then change it from there?
Yes, you will just FTP the slideshow folder to the same directory as your website. Then make sure you can access the slideshow using a URL. This will then be the URL that you put in the iframe code.
