Since downloading latest software update for "numbers", Mac is now extremely slow at loading anything and has trouble playing videos (buffering). Also when put Mac to sleep, it wakes up by itself and then back to sleep, etc. Please help!

OK, thanks. First, open Disk Utility and the Repair Disk Permissions on your internal HD. You can find DU in Applications - Utilitie. After doing so please restart in Safe Mode, this is easily done by holding down the Shift Key on your keyboard when you hear the start up tone, you will see a progress bar appear letting yuo know it's starting in Safe Mode. Then reset the SMC and PRAM, instructions can be found by clicking iMac SMC and PRAM reset. Then retest.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
Do a clean (re-)install:

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
I download latest updates for itunes and my iphone, when it comes to installing, it successfully downloads, but then i get a message for iphone software error=1403 file corrupted, and for itunes it downloads, then when i try to install it a message says unable to install software, file maybe corrupted!!
The iTunes update must be downloaded and installed before you try and use it to update the iPhone OS
Download iTunes 10.2.2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
When it completes it will auto mount the disc image and show you the package installer, don't try and do anything with the file until it gets to this stage.
Once that's installed reboot the Mac, run iTunes, connect your iPhone and let it sync, then hit the update button and let it complete that step by itself (which will require a restart of the iPhone) -
Help. I recently downloaded the latest software update for on my Apple TV (per the prompt Apple TV gave us). Ever since downloading the update, we cannot access movies, play movies, or access iTune store. We can play YouTube videos so the problem is not related to the connection. It happens only when we are trying to access Movies. Very confused. Our AppleTV was working fine until I did the new software update. Now this problem! Help!

Are you only having issues opening Safari? Are you able to connect to the internet with other Browsers or using Mail?
The article below is a good starting point for troubleshooting. I'd start by plugging in an ethernet cable and restarting the computer. If the wired (LAN) connection works, then unplug the ethernet cable and continue troubleshooting the wireless connection.

I tried to update the latest software update for my MacBook pro (which was on 10/12) and after it started to update it restarted like normal but when it started back up it was running painfully slow and none oft programs will open.They all quit unexpectedly. iTunes microsoft word all of them quit unexpectedly. Exact same problem with my 2010 MBP 2.4ghz 4gb ram 10.6.8. iTunes said update was needed, Software Update ran with various updates including a security update, truthfully didn't pay much attention, I always install the Apple updates. After the restart it took 3-4 times longer than normal to get to the login screen, same to get to the desktop but I'm familiar with that occurring on update restarts. Unfortunately it got worse from there. Performed a full shutdown and startup. Same long boot. After the desktop finally loads every mouse button press received a 2 minute beachball. I use menu-meters and both processors are under 10%. Waited a few minutes for disk utilities to launch, repair permissions estimates 3 hours for a typical <10 minute process. Activity monitor shows nothing over 10% CPU most of the time however ReportCrash pops to the top often. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW zero problems until this update.

Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done. -

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Since the last software update for mountain lion, I am having a problem when trying to remove any screenshots to the trash. A box appears saying "Finder wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this"
I have checked Finder Preferences and cannot find any box that I can 'UNTICK' to resolve this. I sometimes take a lot of screenshots when I am researching something and now find I have to enter my password for every screenshot to be removed to trash.

Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5/6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
