Since I began using Firefox 4.0.1 2 [JavaScript Application] errors pop up every time I start. I really liked Firefox 3.x.x & had no problems with it.

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) [nsIFileInputStream.init]" nsresult: "0x80520012 (NS_ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://1clickweather/content/js/utils/filemanager.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 233" data: no]

Thanks
I do not want version 4
the problems started since version 4
I want to uninstall Firefox and reinstall the earlier pre 4 version
Not sure how to do that
And, do you think the crashes can be fixed before I go ahead and do that?
All the best

I'm using firefox 4. It's making problem with Bangla font such as on facebook. It shows Bangla font in a very disordered way! what can I do?

While I was having the problem, I was already using Ovro and had the font "Siyam Rupali" selected. I changed the font to "SolaimanLipi" provided by Prothom Alo and my problems with Facebook, Gmail and Bangla blogs are gone now.

Probably should've searched around a bit more. Just saw a similar forum post to my own in which redownloading and burning solved another user's similar issue. As of now I've redownloaded the 64-bit ISO, burned it, and so far so good (at 72% extracting files). I will repost here if it was a success in hopes that other users with a similar issue find this and benefit from it. Hope I didn't just waste anyone's time with a question that had already been answered (haha)

  • Mac: Adobe Application Manager pops up every time I use any Application

I have a problem using Applications of Adobe Creative Cloud: Every time I click on any icon (Photoshop, Indesign) or on any file (pdf) the Adobe Application Manager pops up and asks me to extend my membership with Adobe Creative Cloud. The selected application does not start with that!
I click "Try again" and the window dissappears - only to show up again. I tried with the Adobe Chat and they told me to uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud and to re-install it afterwards. After this it worked only for one launch of Photoshop, after that again the Application Mananger pops up.
What can I do to re-normalize my Adobe Applications?
Thanks for any help (and please excuse my awful English!)
    Martin

    Hi olgademi,
Looks like the Adobe Application Manager has gone corrupt. We might need to re-install AAM.
Please uninstall the existing version and download AAM from : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774

  • XP. using firefox no response to buttons no problem with Exporer

    I load my internet banking.
When I press Login it shows Done at bottom but has not Logge in.
I read the comments in the Daily Mail. When I press button for View All. Nothing happens.
Both function correctly with Internet Explorer.
It worked OK until one of your recent updates.

Did you update Firefox to 3.6.18 when the security update was issued? You can check by going to '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''. Update immediately if you see the option to do so.
There was a security breach at a major SSL certificate provider called Comodo quite recently whereby an affiliate RA was compromised. That allowed a number of fraudulent SSL certificates to be issued. SSL is an acronym for Secured Socket Layer and means that the transmission is encrypted to prevent eavesdropping. Your banking site will use just such a certificate.
Browsers are configured to accept SSL certificates from providers such as Comodo using OCSP to check authenticity. However, if a fraudulent certificate was to fall into the wrong hands, then this could be used to impersonate a site such as a banking site.
In the case of the security breach which you can read about @ [http://blogs.comodo.com/it-security/data-security/the-recent-ra-compromise/ Comodo blog] Mozilla blacklisted the fraudulent certificates within 24 hours and this blacklist was released as an update to Firefox in v3.6.18
it's important to ensure you're running the latest version of the 3.6.x series to safeguard yourself if you don't want to upgrade to Firefox 4 for some reason or other.
As regards your current problem, try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] If it works properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the cause of the problem.
Also, check your plugins @ [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] You may find you need to update those too.

  • I'm using firefox 3.6.12 and having problem with copy and pasting.Going on for about 2 weeks. Thanks.

When trying to copy and paste, i have a hard time with at least 9 attempts before it takes effect. Thais has been going on for about 2 weeks now. Everything seems to happen as it's suppose to until you go and try to paste.

Update; As of now, i am able to copy and paste. Steps i have taken to correct issues i had before.
    - I installed browser again, but issue came up again.
-I uninstalled Google Chrome browser, it recently showed up in my task manger when i was not using the browser. AnVir Task Manger showed it being in use, so i stopped the processor and uninstalled Google Chrome.
'''From Zdnet;Google has shipped a new version of its Chrome web browser to fix at least 14 security vulnerabilities that expose users to malicious hacker attacks.'''
-I was using Iobit Toolbox Memory. For some reason, this seemed to be the cause of the problem. After uninstalling it, i am able to copy and paste with no more issues.
I'm no expert, but this has worked for me. Enjoy your weekend. :-)

  • MacBook Pro Retina, Yosemite. I don't use Adobe CS5 any more. How do I kill the "To open 'CS5ServiceManager'" window that pops up every time I start up

I want to kill a ADOBE product related window that pups up on startup.

Look in a few locations in your finder under Library/Startupitems  and also /Launch Daemons and /Launch Agents (also under Library) and also look under you "user account name"/library for these same sub folders.  Also look in the System Preferences panel for "users" and then click the Login Items tab.
Somewhere in one of those places will be a file that is starting that Adobe item. Copy it as a back up to another place and then delete it and reboot to see if it gets rid of that message. Then if it does, test Creative Cloud, etc,  to make sure that still functions as expected.

  • I download firefox 5.0 and now I'm having trouble dragging and dropping PDF files into Google Docs and I can't view the PDF once uploaded. I had no problems with this in the previous verion of Firefox

With firefox 5.0 I can't drag and drop pdf files in the google docs screen. When I do eventually get a pdf file uploaded I can't view it. I get "no preview available". In my previous verion of firefox (4.something) I had no problems with this and I was able to drag and drop and after uploaded I could view the entire file.

Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again.

Every time I start up my computer and load Firefox, the theme I was using has gone back to the default one. The theme is still on my computer and it works if I change it back, I just don't know why it won't show up when I first load Firefox.

  • Firefox repeatedly asks to use 3 specific fonts on my backup drive every time I start up Firefox even if I tell it not to ask me again.

I am using Firefox 3.6.10 on a iMac with a LaCie backup drive attached. Every time I launch Firefox, it asks me in 3 seperate pop-up boxes if it can use the following fonts on the backup drive.(Quick Type Mono, SvttTwo ITC TT, and SvtyTwo OS ITC). It claims they are not installed on the backup drive. Every time, I check the box "Don't ask me again" after allowing it to use those fonts but I still get the 3 pop-up windows upon a new launch of Firefox. I will also add that I clone my iMac hard drive to the backup drive so the backup drive should have everything the actual hard drive has including fonts. This is very frustrating so hope someone can help. Thanks!

Could you describe your current cookie settings?
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
'''Which of these best matches what you have for your regular cookie setting?'''
    (1) "Firefox will: Remember history"
    (2) "Firefox will: Never remember history"
    (3) "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" with either
    * "Keep until: they expire" AND "Clear history when Firefox closes" either
    ** Not checked <br>or
** In the corresponding Settings, NOT set to clear Cookies
    * "Keep until: I close Firefox" AND "Allow" exceptions set for the sites AND "Clear history when Firefox closes" either
    ** Not checked <br>or
** In the corresponding Settings, NOT set to clear Site Preferences
    * Neither of the above
'''Which setting do you have for third party cookies?'''
If necessary, change to "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" temporarily. Then look for:
    (A) "Accept third party cookies: Always"
    (B) "Accept third party cookies: From visited"
    (C) "Accept third party cookies: Never"

Click on it, choose Get Info from the File menu, and check the format.
If it's formatted as NTFS, reformat it as MS-DOS, exFAT, or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as desired, or install software such as Paragon NTFS on the computer.
If it's formatted as FAT32 or exFAT, use the Disk Utility's Repair Disk command on it; this may also happen for a flash drive which is about to fail.
If it's formatted as Mac OS Extended, click Authenticate and provide your administrator password, or change the permissions on that specific folder in its Get Info window.

When I am using Firefox I keep getting unrequested Windows opening with full page advertisements. Why is this happening and how can I stop it? This is particularly aggravating when the new page has music or a voice message that intrudes even when I am not looking at the page.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />
